Chapter nine: Misunderstanding

It was two o'clock the morning and Sasuke was still sober. The game was tougher than he expected, but he managed not to drink a lot.

Everyone was already asleep, except he and Sakura. Though, she could barely keep her eyes open. She and Jirayia drank the most.

She was standing with her legs crossed, in front Sasuke. There was no vodka anymore.

Sasuke turned around and laid on his futon. He put the blanket over him and was about to close his eyes when Sakura appeared before him.

"Whatcha' doin'?" She asked with a weird smile that gave Sasuke creeps.

"Sleeping. Go to your futon and do the same." He replied turning around.

"But I don't want to." She said.

"Go to—" Sasuke was cut off by the sound of footsteps. "Shit."

Without having any better idea, Sasuke grabbed Sakura's wrist and dragged her on his futon. He put the blanket over them and slide himself down so that his head won't be seen.

Just then someone opened the door. Sasuke put his hand over Sakura's mouth so that she won't speak.

"Guess they all sleep.." Someone said and left.

Sasuke then took the blanket off him and sighed relieved.

"Go to sleep now." He told Sakura but just then he saw she was already asleep. "Hey.." But she didn't reply.

He could very well take her futon and let her sleep there, but no way Uchiha Sasuke would let her have his futon.

He put the blanket over both, deciding not to move an inch. In that moment, Sakura put her arms around Sasuke and approached so much that their bodies were as good as glued. She buried her face in his neck.

Sasuke couldn't help but smell her sweet parfume. Without thinking too much, he put his arm around her waist and drifted into a deep sleep.

Sakura woke up, but she didn't open her eyes. She was a morning person and she would always wake up early. It was weekend and she had to go to the supermarket and make food. Her mother had work.

She wanted to stay in her bed for a few more minutes, it was more comfortable than usual. As Sakura became more and more familiar, she realized that something was strange.

First of all, it didn't feel like she was in her bed. Her bed felt different. There was also the silence, she would always hear the trains in the morning.

And she wasn't alone. She could feel someone's breath on her face.

She slowly opened her eyes and saw that there was indeed someone next to her. It was a boy and he was sleeping too.

It took her a moment to realize the boy was Sasuke Uchiha and they was sleeping on the same futon, embracing each other.

She blushed to the top of her ears and yelled as loud as she could. She then pushed Sasuke as hard as she could and stood up.

"What the hell?!" Sasuke cursed as he woke up.

"Y-You! What did you do to me?!" Sakura asked pointing to him.

Sasuke looked at her annoyed and got up.

"You were the one who came to me." He replied.

"What's going on..?" Naruto asked as he woke up.

Ino was already woken up by Sakura's first scream and Jirayia was sleeping soundly.

"No I didn't." Sakura opposed.

Sasuke was even angrier. "You came on my futon last night and fell asleep. I wanted to leave but you embraced me and didn't let me leave." He then approached her and her face got even redder. "I didn't you you love me that much." He said with a smirk.

Sakura was now aware of the glances from Naruto and Ino. She was so embarrassed and angry. She slapped him hard and left the room.

She was in her pajamas but didn't care. She ran outside.

There were so many thoughts running in her head. Did he tell the truth? Did she really not let him leave? What was the worst was that she didn't remember almost anything from last night. She could only remember accepting to play that game.

She embraced herself and bit her lip.

"Sasuke." Ino approached and called.

He didn't look at her, but looked away. He exaggerated, but he was angry. He didn't expect that reaction from her, it's not like they actually made—

"What happened?" Ino asked.

"Hn."

"Don't 'hn' me." She said serious.

"Teme, what did you do to Sakura-chan?!" Naruto asked too.

"I didn't do anything, for fuck's sake! A teacher came in our room last night and if someone would have seen her drunk, she would have been in big trouble so I had to hide her somewhere, but she fell asleep!"

"Why didn't you tell her this?" Ino asked as calm as usual.

He looked away again. He was irritated by her reaction, did she really hate him that much? They only slept together and even though it was his first time sleeping with a girl, he didn't hate it. Why did she have to react like that?

"It's not like we -, why the heck did she have to react like that?" Sasuke asked angry.

"Do you think she knows you didn't do anything?"

She was right.

'Damnit!'

How come he didn't realize? She was drunk last night so she probably doesn't remember anything. Waking up next to a boy without remembering anything would probably lead any girl into thinking that.

"Damn." He said face-palming.

"Right there." Ino said. "Now go and find her." She turned Sasuke around and gave him a pat on the back, smiling.

He nodded and left, without seeing Ino's sad smile.

He didn't search for her for too long. She was in the front yard, sitting on one of the benches and wrapping her arms around her.

He approached and sat next to her.

When she saw him, she wanted to get up and probably run, but he caught her wrist and stopped her.

"Let go." She said.

"Not until you listen to me."

He looked at her intensely and serious, making her face him and listen. He got up from the bench.

"Last night you drank the most and got drunk. Everyone except us was sleeping and I wanted to go to sleep, but you didn't want to sleep and came next to my futon. That's when I heard a teacher walking on the hallway." He then looked away, blushing unnoticeable. He scratched the back of his head. "I didn't know what to do so I hid you under the blanket on my futon and you fell asleep. I didn't want to leave you on my futon so I slept there too."

When he finished, he saw her looking at him surprised. "What about the thing that we were.. You know.."

"Embracing?" He asked.

She nodded looked away. Why did he think she looked so cute? Why was his heart beating faster? Just what the heck is wrong with him?

"You did it first." He replied shortly.

"Liar!" She opposed.

"Do you remember anything from last night?" He asked serious, looking her in the eye. She shook her head. "Then you'd have to believe me."

She blushed even more. "F-Fine! Then, why were you hugging me too?"

"Teme, Sakura-chan, we have to leave to visit the shrine in twenty minutes!" Naruto called out.

Sasuke turned around. "Let's go."

"Hey, don't you dare leave without a n answer Uchiha!" She yelled.

'Saved by Naruto, why would have thought this day would come?'

The rest of the trip ended very fast. Sakura and her group visited a lot of places and even made photos. She talked a lot with Ino, laughed a lot with Naruto and walked with Sasuke.

It was a surprise even to her that they got along so well. Sakura could even dare say that Sasuke was nice. He helped her once when she tripped, he would never let her walk alone and he even showed her a nice shop from where she bought souvenirs.

The four of them arrived at the bus and met with Hinata and Kiba's group, it was time to leave.

"Hinata!" Sakura jumped on her friend, hugging her.

Hinata returned the hug.

"How was the trip?" The dark-haired girl asked.

Sakura smiled. "It was great."

"Hi Hinata-chan!" Naruto came and smiled brightly.

Hinata blushed. "H-Hello, Naruto-kun?"

"Listen Hinata-chan, Sakura-chan and Sasuke got along really well those days, you should have seen them!"

Hearing that, both Sasuke and Sakura blushed.

"Hey!" Kiba came and greeted. "What's up with those two?" He asked seeing Sasuke and Sakura. "Are you a couple?"

"No!" They answered at the same time, making the rest start laughing, except Ino.

"We're leaving!" A teacher said.
