~ It's a bit later than I wanted this chapter to be posted, but I've been having laptop issues (again) so it took me a little longer to work on this. I've moved on from my main laptop (the one that's been giving me issues) to an older laptop (that doesn't have issues) until I'm able to get a new one. (which hopefully will be soon).
~ I stayed up a bit late to post this so I hope you like it (:
Psycho17: Hopefully I'll start to write more jealous Klaus because I haven't much with Chelsea since Changes Within (which feels like a long time ago). There's a part of me that sort of wants staying with Elijah through the hallucinations will come back to her but at the same time I don't want it to. It'll probably change as the season for her goes on. I can't really change the Andrea name now since I had it in the other chapter but it's one of those things that I don't end up changing that I'm okay with. Chelsea is engaged with Klaus and is having his baby...with him it's a romantic relationship. Right now with Chelsea and Elijah she sees him as that older brother who always does the right thing. She has her brother Dylan in Mystic Falls so because of that she sort of see's Klaus's siblings as her own. That is until she starts to realize the feelings with Elijah. The memory sharing scenes were important to the episode and I think important to what happens with Chelsea and Elijah so they had to happen. I like Eve's character so far in the show...hopefully I can get more Chelsea/Eve scenes and have a friendship there. Chelsea's parents are dead (as revealed in What's Hidden Underneath). The last time Chelsea saw her mom was when the veil was down in Changes Within. It might cause a small rift between Dylan and Chelsea if she finds out Dylan knew (which I don't want him to know). I think you're right when it comes to Chelsea caring for Elijah more than she'll admit. She doesn't want to hurt Klaus like that and doesn't want to get between the two of them. I wanted to have a sweet Chelsea/Klaus scene because of everything that happened in the last few chapters. Chelsea will flip out when she finds out what Klaus want to do to the wolves in this chapter but then he's going to be surprised when he finds out why. The spell thing is right...I have the whole thing written down so I don't forget a detail to that wolf part of Chelsea. The crescent moon showing up on her would be a cool idea, something you made me think about which also fits to why the wolf part of her has been showing up (her eyes changing from green to orange). Chelsea has been able to use the normal magic since she was born but the Expression since the time between the TVD season 4 episodes 'Stand By Me' and 'Bring It On'...which is in the previous story Changes Within. I don't want to make my characters too powerful because then it seems like they could cure any problem that comes their way and it doesn't happen like that. Chelsea has always been her own person, with the exception of small moments. I kinda of want the slap to happen or at least Chelsea talking to Klaus about it.
ENJOY!
Chelsea's POV
I slept better since I was on a bed. I still didn't sleep as well as I would have liked, but I couldn't complain. Nik slept next to me and it felt so good to have his arm around me after what happened. He let me sleep in, made me food, and even went shopping with me. He wanted me to get some new clothes, which I didn't mind even though I had a lot. I just got enough to last me until I got my other clothes to our new place.
I looked at Nik, who was sleeping next to me. His calm sleeping face made me forget my worries. There was something about his peaceful face that was calming to me. I couldn't help but cup his face. It felt like a long time since I woke up to him and it was refreshing. His eyes slowly opened and just stared into mine.
"I almost forgot how it felt to wake up to you." I said in a whisper, not knowing what else to say. "It's nice."
"I missed you love." He whispered, which made me smile.
"I know." I said as I brushed my thumb on his cheek. "I missed you to." He moved closer and kissed me. I was going to say something, but he sped on top of me and started to kiss down my neck. His hands went along my arms until they were at my hands. He held my arms down as he kept kissing me. "Nik..." I whispered as I closed my eyes, wanting to take in his touch.
"Impatient?" He whispered in my ear. I didn't say anything as he kept kissing me. I sped so I was on top of him and he was in the same position I was in. Nik just smirked up at me as I kissed his neck.
"You're impatient, not me." I whispered as I felt his hands on my hips.
After Nik and I showered together, we sat a table that was outside. We sat on opposite ends even though I wanted to sit next to him. The only other people that were sitting at the table was Marcel and his inner circle. I couldn't help but look at all of the vampires, never believing that I would be around so many. 'Mystic Falls barely had ten vampires' I thought before Nik began to tapping his glass with a fork.
"Let us begin with a toast to our shared gift..." Nik started to say as everyone looked at him "...immortality. After a thousand years, one might expect life to be less keenly felt, for its beauties, " Nik looked towards me and I could feel him smile, even though he wasn't smiling ".. and its sorrows do diminish with time." He looked back at the vampires at the table. "But, as vampires, we feel more deeply than humans could possibly imagine." Nik moved his hand and the waiters and waitresses walked towards us. They cut their wrists and their blood went into our cups. "Insatiable need, exquisite pain..." Nik looked at everyone. "Our victories, and our defeats." He looked at Marcel "...To my city, my home again. May the blood never cease to flow..."
"...and the party never end!" Marcel said as he raised his glass.
"To New Orleans." Diego said as he raised his glass.
"To New Orleans!" Klaus said before looking at me.
"New Orleans." Everyone said, including me. I was the only one who didn't raise their glass. I went straight to taking a sip because I wanted the blood.
"I understand that some of you may have questions regarding the recent change in leadership, and I invited you here tonight to assure you that you are not defeated." Nik said after taking his sip. "No, my intentions moving forward are to celebrate what we have." Nik put his hand on Marcel's shoulders, like he was giving a pat on the back. "What Marcel, in fact, took and built for this true community of vampires."
"What about her?" Diego asked as he pointed to me. "The witch." I rolled my eyes.
"The witch can hear you." I said to him.
"Had you'd let me finish, Diego, you would know that there is, of course, one further matter I would like to address." Nik started to walk around the table with his glass in his hand. "As many of you know, this girl...my fiance is carrying my child. Consequently, I trust you will all treat her with the appropriate respect as well as treat her like your queen." Nik put his free hand on my shoulder and gave me a gentle squeeze. "That means you have to listen to the both of us." I looked at the others, who were practically staring at me. "However, I understand that some of you are concerned by this vicious rumor that I intend to use the blood of our child to create hybrids. I assure you, I do not." I chose not to say anything to the others to defend him. I knew he was telling the truth. "It appears I will have to earn your trust." I could almost hear the anger in Nik's voice as he walked backed to his seat. "Very well, we'll eliminate the root of your anxiety. You see, how I can I sire any hybrids if there are no more werewolves alive in the bayou to turn?"
"What?!" I asked, trying not to let the shock through my voice. "Nik, no."
"So... eat, drink and be merry." Nik didn't even look at me. "And tomorrow, I suggest you have yourselves a little wolf hunt." I sat back into my chair, not looking at anyone. "Go ahead, have fun. Kill them all!" I didn't tell Nik that the wolves were related to me, but I don't think that it would have mattered. He just doesn't want the others to turn against him. 'Is it that important to him?' I asked myself before picking at my food. Everyone else was chatting and eating, but knowing that the wolves where going to die took away my hunger. 'They're my family' I thought. 'One I never knew I had' I didn't even look at Nik as I ate, but I knew he could tell that I was upset.
I spent most of the morning looking through the book with the family names. It felt like it was the only thing I wanted to do. I thought that the longer I looked at the names, the easier it would be to figure everything out. Klaus eventually left with Marcel. I barely paid attention when he said he was going to be back.
I was going to get something to eat, but I couldn't help but notice that there was barely anyone around. 'Would I be able to talk to Eve?' I asked myself as I stood up. 'I could be back before anyone notices that I was gone' I thought before walking towards one of the doors.
"Going somewhere?" Diego asked as he walked around the corner. I rolled my eyes, not really wanting to put up with him.
"I'm in a bad mood Diego so don't." I said as I held the book close. "You can't stop me if I want to leave." Diego was about to say something, but got his neck snapped before being thrown against the wall. "Elijah, you shouldn't be here." I said when I noticed it was Elijah. "Klaus is being overprotecting and has some of the others babysitting me." It wasn't hard to figure out that Nik had the other vampires watching me since he was concerned. 'And he's still mad at you' I added in my head.
"I wouldn't worry about them." Elijah said before Rebecca came around the corner. "Come, we mustn't linger. We'll get you some place safe." Elijah started to walk towards the door.
"I'm safe here." I said, which made Elijah turn back towards me. "I'm not worried about me." Rebecca and Elijah looked at me with some confusion before they looked at each other. "Klaus has ordered the vampires to kill the werewolves in the bayou. I'm more concerned about them right now." I looked at Elijah and Rebecca. "Can you help them, please?"
"Out in the bayou? Do we look like a bloody vampire-rescue-squad?" Rebecca asked me with a bit of anger in her voice. "I think you should be grateful we came to save you!"
"I don't need saving Becca." I said to her. "The werewolves do. They could be my family and Nik has ordered them to be killed. If you want to help me, just help them. Please." I tried to plead with my eyes, hoping that it would work. 'If they don't, I'm going to' I thought before Elijah gave a small nod. "Thank you." I said in a whisper. Elijah turned and started to walk away, which made me look at Rebecca. I could tell that she didn't want to go back in the bayou. 'Please?' I mouthed to her and she let out a sigh before following Elijah out.
The rest of the day seemed to drag on. I texted my brother to ask him to look into the wolves that lived in New Orleans. It just made sense in my mind to ask someone outside of the city and plus he was family. 'He would want to know just as much as me' I thought because he knew just as much as me.
I let out a sigh and started to walk around, wanting to walk around. I started to hear voices I knew weren't just in my head. 'That sounds like Josh' I thought as I kept walking towards his voice.
"...if Klaus tries to hurt you... I'll hurt him." I heard someone say and I could easily guess who it was.
"You know, if you harm Klaus..." I started to say as I stood in the doorway "...I'd go after you." 'I might not actually do it, but who knows' I thought. "Besides, if you actually wanted to stop him, you would have done it already."
"You're Chelsea." Davina said as she looked at me. "Klaus's wife." I slightly smiled because it felt like it was the first time I was called his wife.
"Not yet...just his fiance." I said before walking towards them. "I'm actually glad to meet you Davina. It's not often two powerful witches like us are in the same room."
"You're a witch?" Davina asked with some confusion. "But you're a vampire." I used my powers to make flames come out my fingertips before making them go away.
"I could do more...but I'm not in the mood." I said with a shrug as I stepped them. "If you guys are making a secret alliance, just make sure Klaus doesn't find out. Josh is already on his kill list..."
"Fantastic." Josh said with nervousness.
"...Just make sure this stays secret. Okay? I won't tell him as long as you don't go after him." I said, which made them both look at me with confusion. "Despite Josh being compelled before, I consider him a friend and I help my friends." I gave the both of them a small smile before walking away.
I walked down the hall, wanting to sit outside on the balcony. I held the book in my arms, because I didn't want to let it out of my sight. 'Why am I so protective of it?' I asked myself, not knowing why I couldn't leave it alone.
"Are you ignoring me love?" Nik asked and I stopped in my spot outside the room he was in. 'Yes, I'm ignoring you' I thought before reluctantly turning towards him. I wanted to say something, but my mind wouldn't let me. "What's wrong?" He asked, which made me take a deep breath. 'I should show him' I thought before walking into the room. Instead of saying anything, I flipped through the pages and showed him the entry with my birthday.
"That's me." I said as I pointed to my birthday. "All those other people are my family." I tried to keep the emotion from my voice. Nik carefully picked the book up and looked at it. "They just happen to be the werewolves you ordered to be killed."
"How is it possible?" He asked with shock and confusion.
"How the hell am I supposed to know?" I asked him as we looked at each other. "All I know is that it makes sense and..." I didn't know what else to say, it was still a shock to me "...I might still have a parent that is still alive...if they're killed..." I paused, trying not to get sad. "I might even have brothers and sisters." I couldn't help but look at the book that Nik was still holding. "A family." I whispered, hoping that I had more family out there. Nik put the book down and cupped my face. He kissed me as he gently rubbed his thumb against my cheek.
"If the werewolves are dead, then the vampires have less desire to kill you." Nik looked straight in my eyes as he told me the reason why he wanted to kill them. "I am trying to keep you safe."
"So killing the family I never knew I had is protecting me?" I reluctantly asked as I put my hands on his wrists. "I can protect myself, I don't need others doing it for me." Nik looked impressed by what I was saying but I didn't look at him too long. I slowly pulled his hands from my face before I grabbed the book and walked out of the room.
I was almost to the balcony as I passed Davina's room. As I peeked in, I noticed that she was looking for something.
"What are you looking for?" I asked from her doorway.
"My violin." Davina said as she looked through some boxes. "It must be left in the attic."
"Do you want me to get it for you?" I asked, which made her turn towards me.
"Why would you do that?" She asked me.
"Because I want to get out of here for a little bit..." I leaned against her doorway "...to get away from everything. You can't go since the other witches want you dead..."
"Why would you do something for me?"
"Because I'm one of the few nice people here." I said with a small smile. "Plus where I grew up and where I lived before here...witches stuck together." I couldn't help but think about Bonnie and my brother. "I guess I just want to have that feeling again."
"So you just want me to stick by you because we're both witches?" I just gave Davina a nod. "What if you're lying?"
"What good is it to lie to you?" I asked her. "Lying leads to keeping secrets and I'm sick of secrets." I looked at the book in my arms and took a deep breath. "Secrets and lying can get you killed...just look what happened to Agnes." I ended in a whisper.
"What happened to her?" She asked and I realized that I said the end out loud.
"She's dead. Elijah killed her for almost killing me and my baby."
"But.. Agnes was the last living Elder." Davina said as she took a step closer to me. "If she's dead, then I'm safe. Marcel would've told me."
"Maybe he didn't tell you because he wanted to keep you safe himself or..." I couldn't help but think that Marcel was just using Davina.
"Or what?"
"Or maybe he didn't want to lose the advantage he had over the other witches." I reluctantly said to her.
"You're lying."
"You want to go through this again? I'm not lying and I thought you knew." I said with honesty. "At least you know now." I turned to walk away and saw Josh out the corner of my eye. "Hey Josh." I gave him a small smile before walking down the hall.
I was sitting on a chair that was on the balcony. It was nice to enjoy the night breeze after what happened during the day. I pulled my phone out to check the time just as my brother called.
"Hey." I said as I answered.
"Hey sis." My brother said which made me smile. "I found something for you." He said and I knew he was talking about the wolf thing.
"Is it good?" I asked, hoping it was.
"If you want it to be." He said, which made me confused.
"What do yo mean if I want it to be?"
"Relax, just trying a joke." I couldn't help but smile at my brother.
"So...what is it?"
"I was looking through some of the grimiores and there was a piece of paper with some stuff written on it."
"They are filled with paper with stuff on them." I couldn't help but say with a smile.
"Well, mom wrote it." I took a deep breath, trying to prepare myself for whatever I was about to hear. "It's addressed to you from when the veil was down."
"Mom left it for me to read? What does it say?" There was a silence from him. "Dyl?"
"I think you should read it for yourself." I closed my eyes. "You can read it the next time you visit."
"Okay." I could hear things going on over the phone. "What's going on by you?"
"Bridget's trying to make supper."
"Hey! I'm a better cook than you." I could hear her say to Dylan.
"She's got you there." I said with a smile.
"You're a mean sister." I rolled my eyes.
"It's true. Almost everyone is a better cook than you."
"Thanks..." He sarcastically said to me. "I'm going to hang up before you insult me again. Love you."
"Love you to." I reluctantly hung up on my brother. I wanted to talk to him longer, but I knew I would be able to whenever I would visit again. 'Hopefully within the next few weeks' I thought before standing up.
I stepped up to the railing and looked all the lights. It was strangely comforting even though nature usually comforted me. 'It's just because it's night' I thought before closing my eyes and talking a deep breath. There was a slight breeze before I felt someone standing near me. I looked to see that it was Elijah.
"Are they..?" I asked, not even finishing the question because he knew who I meant.
"They're safe." Elijah said to me. "All of them." He gave me a small smile as I hugged him.
"Thank you." I said in a whisper before I realized that I was hugging him again. I pulled away and looked at him. "You didn't have to." I gave him a small smile. "It means...a lot. Thanks."
"You're welcome." He said with a small smile. "I should go." Elijah said after what felt like a couple of minutes. I gave a small nod, feeling like it was the only thing I could do. I watched as he walked away.
It felt like it took me a long time before I moved from my spot. I picked up my phone and the book from the table before walking back inside.
I was laying in my bed, trying to sleep. The bed was so comfortable and almost sent me to sleep right way if it wasn't for Nik. He slipped into the bed next to me and cupped my face.
"I love you." He said in a whisper, which made me smile. My eyes were closed, but he knew I heard him.
"I love you to, but let me sleep." I tiredly said because I just wanted to sleep. He kissed my forehead, put his arm around me and pulled me close. I knew that sometimes he was going to do things that I didn't agree with, but I was just glad that the werewolves were safe. I put my head on Nik's chest and fell asleep while thinking about everything.
~ The part where Chelsea has flames from her fingers was inspired by the scene in TVD season 5 Episode 6 Handle With Care when Silas has flames from his fingertips. I was going to have that earlier in this story (back in chapter 4) but I didn't put it in there...but I thought it was a good chapter to put that scene in. (:
~ Originally I wasn't going to have Klaus and Chelsea say anything to each other at the end of the chapter, but it just came out. Don't worry about Chelsea/Elijah...they will have at least one scene a chapter as long as I can help it (: Chelsea and Klaus will still have scenes together (obviously).
~ The next chapter is the episode The Casket Girls...I'd like to hear what your thoughts are on what Chelsea will do in it. Also the next TVD/TO crossover chapter is coming up...it's the 100th TVD episode 500 Years Of Solitude. It's when it will be revealed what Chelsea's mom wrote her, which will be related to the wolf thing.
~ I started another story along The Originals called Love Is War. It follows my OC Luna with a Klaus/Luna/Marcel triangle and it's the sequel to Love Changes Things. Hopefully you can check it out if you haven't already (:
R&R 'till the next update
