I glare at the man who thought it must be fun to kidnap a girl who has a black belt in karate. Not to mention she can break every bones in his body. Yugi stood closer to me glaring at Pegasus. The gang follow his lead putting a wall between me and the men in black.
"I have to say it's an honor to meet such a beautiful girl." He said as if we were having a conversation over dinner.
"Cut the crap. I know you want my company but guess what that's not happening." I said as I glare daggers at him.
My hunger was long forgotten. My anger is making me see red. He chuckled as he took a zip of wine.
"That is not the reason I have call you to my island. Miss Levington." For some reason that made me even more mad. "The reason I have call you out here is for one reason only my dear."
"Do please tell me." I said gritting my teeth together.
I felt a dark presence wrap itself around me like a blanket. I didn't push it away, I sneak peek through the corner of my eye to Yugi's crimson eyes. Looks, like I'm not the only one who wants to beat Pegasus up. Man, this guy knows how to piss off people.
"Miss Levington the one thing I want from you the most is your soul." A chill went down my spine as his tone darken.
"My soul?" Now I'm positive Myst is behind this only a demon would want that.
I grab hold of my rosary, trying not to run off to the castle. I wasn't sure what happen next. I just fell to my knees as indescribable amount of pain shot through me. My whole body shook, it felt as if something was ripping off my skin. I bit my lip trying not to scream from the agony. I curl up in to a ball.
As the pain had appear it easily disappear. I took a shaky breath as every muscle of my body felt soar. I hold myself focusing on breathing. I never had felt this kind of pain. Not, even when Press beats me to a pole.
"Hikari, are you okay?"
"What did you to her Pegasus?"
"Hikari please answer me."
I hadn't realize I had my eye close. I open them to see Yugi's worry crimson eyes staring at me. I rest my head against his chest as he cradle me in his arms. I didn't dare speak, I might let out a scream even if the pain is gone it left my body soar. I feel as if I just run a marathon from Japan to the USA.
"Ah, it seems I cannot do it from the other side of the screen as I had done to Yugi's Grandpa." At the mention of his grandpa Yugi stiffen.
"What did you to her, Pegasus?" Joey asked almost in a growl.
"I guess you do not know how precious this girls soul is. Her soul is a great light full of good things. It casts a great shadow, a powerful one. Her soul is divided into two, one half is light and the other half is shadow. The shadow part of her soul contains the great power of three beasts." Pegasus explain as if we were in class and his the teacher.
Fin said that once to me. As Kaitou Jeanne I have great power, I'm light. A great light that contains the same amount of darkness. I never even thought of that, I just shrug it off.
"You're not getting her soul." Tristan simply said but it sounded to me like a threat.
"It's not up to you. This girl isn't a duelist. I don't have to duel her for her soul. I can just simply take it if I desire."
I felt the dark presence but this time it was different. This presence is beyond piss. On Yugi's forehead an eye appear. It's the same one as on his millennium puzzle.
"I won't let you have her soul Pegasus." Yugi growled.
How, the hell does he still make me blush even when I'm in pain.
"It is not up to you, Yugi-boy. Her soul belongs to me already. Once you come to my castle I just simply have to reach down and take it." Pegasus said simply.
I wanted to get up and demand who the hell he think he is. My Company isn't his. My soul belongs to no one. I felt my rosary glow, I felt my strength return as I sat up from Yugi's arm.
"Don't make me laugh because only an idiot would steal from a thief." I declared.
Pegasus chuckled. "Bring her to me" He ordered the two body guards before the screen went blank.
Tristan and Joey got in front of me read to taken them on. I roll my eyes, I'm not some fragile girl. I gritted my teeth together as I push them both out of the way. I made my hands into fists. I quickly took a swing at one of them, not holding anything back. I dodge a punch the other took a swing at me. I took hold of his wrist and use it as leverage to kick his head. The other one tried to punch me from behind, I saw it coming from the corner of my eye. I caught his fist on time and took hold of his arm, I threw him over on his back.
"Don't mess with a girl who knows karate." I said breathless.
"Remind me to never piss you off." Tristan said shocked.
"Hikari, baby I am sorry for my little joke earlier." Joey quickly apologize.
I turn to them with an annoy look before I even got the chance to snap at them. My stomach growl once more. I blush as I place a hand on my stomach.
Tea quickly rummage through her bag. She took a bag of chips and offer them to me.
"Thank you, your my savior." I took them ripping them open trying my best to not seem like a wild animal.
"So, any idea what Pegasus meant?" Polar bear said.
I look over to him popping a chip into my mouth. As much as I love to say the truth. Fin always warn me, I will only harm people with it.
"Beats me," I said with a shrug.
"You don't seem worry." Yugi said amuse.
I look away from his eyes fighting a blush instead I focus on munching on my chips.
"Pegasus will only get his ass kick if he tries anything."
Soon we all agreed to return to sleep. I lay down holding my rosary tight to my chest. Fin can I really fight against Myst without revealing my secret. There were a few close calls but you always help me. The minute you run around with a doll looking like Kaito Jeanne. Any suspicion on me was gone. This time I might not be so lucky.
I close my eyes soon a dream took over me. It was the kind of dream, that seem too realistic.
I felt as if were flying. The sun shine bright on me. I heard thousands of feet running. I grab the reins of my horse tighter.
I let out a laugh as Spirit run faster. I could see it, the kingdom of Egypt.
"Look, Spirit there it is. My new home." I said excited.
At my words Spirit push herself to go faster, she let out a neigh with the same amount of excitement. I let out a squeal at the increasement of her speed.
It wasn't long that the buildings surrounded us. My eyes widen at the sight of the palace, a slight frown appear on my lips.
"Do I really have to marry a stranger for peace." I wonder.
I could hear people muttering themselves as they pointed at me.
I let out a sigh of course, everyone must be suspecting my arrival. After all it was just a month ago the Cesar of Rome give his daughter as a sacrificial lamb to Egypt. The only way to stop the incoming war between the two kingdoms.
It makes no difference to me, it just means a new cage. I wonder if I can delay my meeting with the Pharaoh. I peek over my shoulder, no Roman soldiers. I must have lost them, I didn't hesitate to tell Spirit to go right.
I am to become queen of this kingdom I must know this place first. Meet my people, hear their thoughts on this new Pharaoh. If I remember right my old teacher said the prince took over the throne two weeks ago.
Spirit slow down to a walk as I look around. People were still starring at me but none of them seem to glare at me. They actually smile at me. I pull Spirits reins, making her stop. I slide off her. I pull my robe tighter around me. Hopefully, I can blend in.
I couldn't stop seeing the people so cheerful. It's the new Pharaoh a kind man. I stop in front of one the stand selling fruits.
"Excuse me." I said nervous.
This is the first time I get to wander around the streets of my new kingdom.
"Yes?" the man said, clearly hoping I would be a buyer.
"I want to ask you, it's the new Pharaoh kind?"
The man give me a surprise look." Why, of course the Pharaoh has been looking after his people. He always comes around this time of day to have a look at his kingdom and people."
He must really love this kingdom, to go as far to look after it. I'm amaze he would go that far. My father, the Cesar of Rome, would have never bother. I guess it won't be like home.
"Thank you so much." I smiled at him."I would like some apples please."
The man at once started to gather some of them putting them on a brown sack. That should be plenty to reward Spirit. My poor girl had to walk in the desert to get me here.
I took off one my golden rings with a ruby on it. I took the sack of apple from him and place the ring on his palm. Without a word I turn and left.
I took out one of the apple as I walk around the city. I pass it over to Spirit, within seconds she finish the apple. Now that I think about it I'm starting to get hungry. I look to the walls of the palace. I wonder if the soldiers that came with me have arrive.
I pet Spirits head, I might not see her for a while. Once I enter the palace I might have to endure ceremonies or meetings. Not to mention theirs the wedding to plan. Dresses to try on and decisions to make.
Spirit interrupted my thoughts as she dig her way into the sack for more apples. I giggle at the sight.
"You need to stop eating so much apples." I told her as I pull away from her grasp.
She let out a sound and grab the sack, trying to rip it open. I tried to get her to let go but she tighten her grip on it. For a moment I saw Spirit as a dog having a tug of war with me.
"Spirit let go." I said through gritted teeth.
The poor sack of apples couldn't handle it anymore and rip. Apples were thrown into the air. I stumble and fell on my butt as I watch Spirit stand on two legs trying to catch apples in her mouth. I am cutting her off from apples.
I stood up brushing off dirt from my robe. I might have to take it off, General Anthony is going to throw a fit. It's not like I ask to get marry. All I wanted was for my father to accept me as his daughter. I brush away the tears I can't cry over a single sack ripping because Spirit is being a hog.
I didn't bother to pick up the apples, seen Spirit had practically eaten all of them. I hid myself into an alley enjoying the cool air from the shadows. I bet a search party has been sent out looking for me.
I lean against the wall, watching Spirit finish off her apples. Soon I heard people shouting.
"The Pharaoh is coming!"
"The King of Egypt is here!"
I stiffen up, I quickly pull Spirit in to the alley. This is stupid, I'm hiding from my own future husband. I notice people soon got on their knees bowing down to their king. I look behind me to see the alley extended to the next street.
"Alright Spirit let's go." I said as I reach towards her, only to feel nothing.
I turn my head to see my dumb horse in the middle of the street continuing to eat her apples. I am going to kill her. I didn't think about the Pharaoh. I run to grab her reins.
"Come on, you dummy." I tried pull her into the alley only to have her dig her feet into the ground refusing to move.
"That does it, I'm trading you for a dog!" I yelled at her.
Spirit completely ignore me as she finish the last apple. I glare at her, I give up pulling on her reins. I tried to push her into the alley. I felt her start to move, I guess she's done with her apples. I let out a sigh in relief. Now, I just need to hide for a couple of minutes.
"Princess Artemis!" A familiar voice shouted.
My eyes widen as I turn my head to see none other than General Anthony. I might not make it out alive, after all.
He scowl at me as he got off his horse. Maybe I should run for it and let him cool down. Spirit must have read my mind, somehow. She got between me and the General. I take it back you can have as many apples as you want.
"Do you have any idea of the trouble you cause!" Anthony yelled.
I look down at the floor feeling guilty.
"I-I just wanted to see the kingdom." I mumbled.
I might not even get another glance of it. Once I'm inside does palace walls. Maybe I should have run away from here.
"General, you shouldn't scowl at the future queen of Egypt." A dark velvet voice chuckled. His voice, could it possibly belong to the king.
But I'm not ready I mean how am I suppose to act, what should I say to him. I can't meet him I'm not mentally prepare.
I grab Spirits reins, giving them a tug. Immediately she understood. She lower her head as I got ready to hop on. She give me the boost I needed to get on. I grab hold of her reins tightly.
"I'll meet you at the palace." Without a word Spirit began to run.
I'm too nervous to speak to the Pharaoh. I might blurt out something stupid or worse call him a name. I let go of the reins and wrap my arms around spirits neck.
"I'm such an idiot." I muttered.
Spirit let out a sound as she turn her head. I follow her gaze, right behind us is without a doubt the Pharaoh. His brown horse must be pushing himself to keep up with Spirit.
I feel bad for him, Spirit is the fastest horse, I know. She can out run anyone. I turn to her, our gaze lock. I grab her reins tightening my grip on them. As she begun to increase her speed. I felt the familiar excitement pumping through my veins.
I couldn't help but giggle. Spirit kept going faster and faster, riding her always makes me feel free. It's as if I'm flying on her wings. I let go of her reins and wrap my arms around her neck. At this moment all I want is to fly with her. I look up to see the gates of the palace.
"Spirit." I whispered her name.
She made a sound letting me know she got my message. I felt her front legs digging themselves into the ground as she run straight for the gates. They barely were opening them as Spirit enter the through the narrow space. I look around to see my new home.
She didn't slow down as she continue running. I lifted my arms up into the air, laughing. She took me to what I'm assuming is the courtyard. She slow down as she stop right underneath a tree.
I got off her and stumble I let myself fall on the grass. I took deep breaths trying to calm down my beating heart. Spirit follow my example and lay down next to me. Our little moment ended as I heard footsteps. I stretch my arms not bothering to stand up. If its Anthony I will be here a while.
"Your horse can really run." A dark voice spoke.
I sat up immediately and scoot over to Spirit. She place her head on my shoulder. I pet her head trying to concentrate on anything but the Pharaoh.
"Princess Artemis?"
I bury my face into Spirit's neck.
"Yes?" I finally manage to said.
"Ah, she speaks." He chuckled.
I tried to ignore my blush as I continue to pet Spirit. She let out a sigh as she nibble on m hair. I pull away to glare at her. At moment I feel as if she thinks my golden hair is hay. I did my best to not undo it from the fancy ponytail.
"Artemis, may ask you why have you been running around all over Egypt?" The king asked me.
I look down at the ground as I answer him.
"I don't want to be held prisoner in the palace. Back in my kingdom I wasn't allow to take a single step out from the insides of the kingdom."
"I see, then here you can go out whenever you please." He said.
I look up to him, surprise at his words.
"Then I can leave the palace?"
"Whenever you please."
I stood up and hug him. I pull away smiling at him.
"Thank you, Pharaoh. "
His crimson red eyes were full amusement as he grab my hand and pull me to his chest. I hug him back, blushing. He is a kind king.
"Artemis," He whispered in my ear. "Please call me..."
I never got the chance to hear his name. My eyes snap over as I sat up. I look around me. I'm in Duelist Kingdom trying to find a way home. My name is Hikari Levington I'm in ninth grade I go to St. Catharine's, where I'm known as the White Rose Princess.
I felt movement I turn my head to see Tea sleeping in her sleeping bag. Quietly I grab my white heels and got out of the tent. The boys were all asleep. I could see the sun rising from the horizon.
I did my best to stay quiet as I started to walk to the forest. Physically I feel like I can beat the crap out of anyone. Mentally I'm exhausted beyond belief. I never would had guess in a million years Ashley would sale me out. We barely talk to one another but whenever I needed a guardian or a parent she was there.
I punch a tree ignoring the throbbing pain, I kept going. I put on my heels once I had put enough distance between me and the camp. I took out my phone from its hiding spot, yes I put it in my bra.
I flip it open relief to see half of a battery of life in it. I sat down on a rock in front of a waterfall. If it weren't for my current situation I would consider this as a vacation.
I dial Riley's number, hoping to hear good news. The phone rang once.
"HIKARI!" Four different voice screamed at my ear.
My eyes got teary as I recognize each voice.
"GIRLS!" I yelled back.
"Where are you?"
"Are you okay?"
"Riley told us what happened"
I swallow down the lump building in my throat. Pres, Rika, and Lulu I never been so happy to hear their voices.
"Hikari, I hack your company as you ask me. Pegasus has been trying to attack me back but unfortunately a snake sneak into their computer system." I could hear the smile in Riley's voice.
"Good job riley. Now do you have a map of this island?" I asked her.
"No problem I figure you would ask me. I can guide you straight to the bastards castle." Riley responded.
I love her and will buy her sweets for a year if I survive this. I stood up from my rock, time to bust out from this lame island.
"Alright just tell me where to go."
"You see the waterfall in front of you. There's a secret passage inside. It's the quickest way to the castle." Riley said as I her heard typing away in her keyboard.
I didn't hesitate to go in. I went around it and saw the cave behind the waterfall. I enter through the side of the waterfall. My sundress already looks awful. I heard my own footsteps echo throughout the cave. I'll admit it, creepy, dark and scary cave. I hold my phone tighter to me.
"Keep going straight, you should be able to see a tunnel on your right." Riley instructed.
"Right."
As she said I found another tunnel on my right. I took it as I begun to hum to myself. I hum the opening theme of 'Dragon Ball Z' just as I was getting to my favorite part. I notice the walls were changing, they appear to be manmade. I put myself in high alert, someone must be guarding the door. Pegasus, wouldn't leave it unguarded.
"Hikari you should be getting to a door soon when you get there take the..." All I heard was static at the end. I look down at my phone to see I had lost my signal.
Great. I follow Riley's instructions, soon I stood in front of a dueling arena. Of course, I have to duel my way out of here. I personally prefer to kick my opponents ass then be on my merry way. I let out a sigh as I step into the arena. Two persons come out of nowhere
"You have entered..." One voice started.
"..Sacred grounds." Another voice finished.
What the hell their rhyming. I mute out the rest of their speech. My eyes shine as I notice their wearing green and orange tunic. Plus their fighting each other, light bulb.
"Excuse me," I said interrupting their speech. "Are you perhaps into karate?"
"Yes."
"Of course."
They both answered.
I smile feeling mischief. I guess dueling won't be the only way to fight these bastards.
"Then I challenge to a fight. You see I have no deck or star chips with me. But I do know karate and I'm a black belt."
Both man grinned at me.
"Little girl do you..."
"...Truly believe you can beat us."
I glare at them. They did not just call me little. I have a healthy height for a girl my age. It's just I'm a late bloomer. I took a swing at the orange bald one, only to be block my the green one. I gritted my teeth together.
I jump a couple of inches away from them. Okay two against one, not the greatest idea in the world but whatever. I got on a hand stand and did a round house kick. I growled as they block every kick. I got back on my feet on a ready stance.
"I must say..
"...blue is a nice color on you."
I glare at them as I felt my veins go cold. They just cross the line. I took a deep breath as I landed a kick on the green one sending him flying to crash on the wall . I turn to the orange guy seeing red.
"Both of you are perverts!"
