Questions.

Eva shivered as she stepped out of the bathroom. She held a towel to her hair as she attempted to dry her blonde locks. She had stepped into the shower as soon as she came home in attempts to wash the nerves from the day off of her body but it didn't work.

Making her way into her room she replayed what had happened at the dinner table after Sparda had found her upstairs and slammed the door behind her. The man didn't seem upset to find her snooping and it seemed that he knew what she was looking for, but as soon as she had taken her first bite of food he offered her a small smile and the dark aura surrounding them vanished as though it was never there.

It wasn't natural and it freaked her out how Sparda seemed to be able to control the aura of the room he was in. It would seem her father knew more than he was willing to tell her.

Dropping the towel from her nude form, she changed into a fresh pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt. She didn't think she would have anymore missions that day and she didn't plan on going out for any fun. The day had left her to unnerved, to uncomfortable, to deal with demons.

What had Sparda meant when he said he didn't 'kill' humans? Did that mean he killed other things? Did her kill demons too? Was he like her? If he was a demon hunter as well than why did her father want that stupid amulet? Why was it so important?

She needed answers, she needed to talk to her father.

"Son of a bitch!"

Eva glanced to her room door as Sam came barging in, a sling on her arm and her weapons in the other. She watched silently as her cousin struggled to walk through the door.

"Oh, don't worry. I got it." She scathed. She took two steps into the room before opting to drop the weapons at the foot of the door.

Sighing a breath of relief, Sam sat on her bed, looking more than a little exhausted.

"You look like shit."

"Geez, thanks."

Rolling her eyes at her cousins biting tone, Eva reached out to her cousins feet to untie her shoes. She could be mean but she wasn't that much of a bitch. He cousin would be struggling to undress with her arm in a sling.

"What happened?"

Sam laid back in bed as one foot was dropped and another was grabbed. "I was pushed out of a 3 story building by a fucking pest. Who would have thought that that nest your father sent me into had another thing in it."

"You were pushed by a thing?" Eva raised a brow. A thing? What did that even mean?

"Yeah, it was weird. It looked like a demon but it didn't feel like one, and it had the shape of a human. It didn't look like anything I'd ever encountered before. I almost died because of it."

That was strange. A demon with the shape of a human. Had a person been possessed of was it simply a new type of demon. Questions flowed through her mind but the questions always filtered back to her father. Why had he sent Sam on this mission without giving all of the details. And if he didn't know why didn't he tell her to use caution because they didn't know what she was getting into.

"That fucking pest came out of literally nowhere right before I put a bullet into the last fuckers brain. Shit I couldn't even finish my mission. Your dad is so pissed at me." Sam groaned, rolling on her side with the good arm.

She was probably worrying about her punishment, Eva worried for her. Not only did she neglect to complete her mission but she also came home injured. If she went to the hospital to get patched up than her punishment would be worse. They hunted demons and doctors asked too many questions.

"Just get some sleep and try not to think so much about it."

Eva stood to her feet. There were too many unanswered questions going on. Between her father and Sparda she didn't know where to begin.

Sitting back down onto her bed she thought better than to sneak into her father's room or to ask him direct questions. It would probably be better to ask Sparda first.

She was stuck between a rock and a hard place and she didn't enjoy it.
