Hinata must've been dreaming. But it was a fantastic dream. On both sides of her there was a Naruto; one holding her to his lap, and another sitting on her bed, playing with a kunai. From outside the room, there were shouts.
"Naruto-kun? What's going on?"
The one with the kunai looked at her, the one holding her pressed kisses onto her neck. She felt her face heat up; she could only imagine what it looked like when your double was kissing your girlfriend. At her blush, however, the Naruto looking at her smirked a bit, and she blushed even more, bringing up a cool hand to cover her warm face (and, God, she was tired; her limbs had never felt this heavy). The one behind her laughed a bit through his nose and picked up the pace of his ministrations. She had a feeling his eagerness had to do with her recent victory and felt an even stronger flare of accomplishment in her chest. Naruto was proud of her, of what she'd done!
"We're being invaded."
That was like a bucket of cold water on her happy mood. Her eyes widened, "Then why - ?"
"You're not recovered enough to fight. We're clones the boss left to make sure you stayed safe. If you'd like, we'll try and help you get to a refugee center; you could help organize the civilians. But you're not fighting."
Hinata wasn't sure she could fight even if he hadn't told her not to, but that didn't mean she wasn't going to try. She attempted to get up, aided by the clone she was sitting against, but even the small motion was too much for her. She was completely spent.
The Naruto she'd spoken to nodded, "I guess we're staying here, then."
She gave a small sigh, "I want to be out there."
Naruto smiled a little, "That's why we love you."
She stilled, and met his kind face with wide eyes. He seemed to realize what he'd said and fumbled a bit, "Uh, um, I mean, if that's okay - I, I don't mean you have to love me back or anything - !"
She didn't have enough strength to go over to him and silence him with a kiss, but she could turn and give the clone holding her exactly the kind of kiss she wanted to give the original right now. She would've thought she'd be crying at a moment like this, but maybe she was too tired, or maybe something else, but either way, both Narutos looked relieved there wasn't water leaking from her eyes.
"I love you, too," she said elatedly, winding her fingers in his blonde hair and touching her mouth to his again, eagerly accepting his tongue when it ventured out to meet hers, and arching into him when his arms came around to hold her to him tighter. "I love you," she repeated, and he echoed her, "I love you," and it was just the most amazing sound, ever.
The other Naruto couldn't keep away, it seemed, and he grasped her to him from behind, planting kisses on her cheek, her shoulder, her neck, in her hair, and breathed her name into her ear. The situation was weird, but she didn't care, meeting the mouth of the Naruto in front of her eagerly, their tongues touching curiously, a little like that first time in his room. She couldn't stop her intake of breath when four hands gripped her middle and two sets of lips, teeth, two tongues made their mark on her neck and collar - the shouts from outside weren't going away, and it wasn't the time for this, but it felt so good to hear and feel and taste Naruto, right here, now, with her. He wasn't far away, he was here, hers, and he'd said so himself. He loved her.
And then the door opened, and a silver-haired genin she recognized from the Chuunin Exams walked in, adjusting his glasses when he saw the three of them. "My, Naruto-kun. You don't waste any time, do you?"
She turned a bright red, ducking her face to hide behind her bangs. There was an invasion going on and she was sitting here, kissing her boyfriend! She was sitting here kissing two!
Naruto's reaction was completely unexpected, "What do you want?" he barked angrily, looking as close as a clone could get to calling on the Kyuubi's chakra.
The genin shrugged, "Nothing of consequence. Your allegiance to Orochimaru-sama."
"No fucking way."
"I figured. Which was why I came here for her," the genin nodded at Hinata, "It's quite sloppy of you to leave your most important thing unattended by anything except clones. One might question you having any feelings for her at all. But I guess we'll see." The genin withdrew two scalpels, which glinted maliciously in the white light.
Hinata all-of-a-sudden felt a lot more tired than she was a second ago.
