Anyway we left off with Molly's week starting of awful and here is a continuation of Molly's days. I probably promised a Samantha chapter but i just couldn't do it. Anyway, I figured that music gets ride of my writer's block for that moment and I wrote this. Have fun reading and hope you like it! ^_^
Chapter 7
Her Mistress, a cat and the girl. . .
*Molly Anne's POV*
'This week has to get better for me! The past seven days have been a serious torture!' I thought to myself as I walked into the kitchen. 'The reason for me going into the kitchen is a cake. Who else to make it but Saman- Oh right. . . she is not here at the moment. . .' I called the second best baker than my teacher. "Alexandria, can you make me a cake? I'm really hungry."
Alexandria came in and told me, "I'm terribly sorry milady, but Samantha has given me specific orders to make you eat some vegetables before you get dessert." She held up a note that was written in Samantha's writing, 'Dear Mistress, if you are reading this, I know that Alexandria has shown you the letter. I have left some instructions for her and the other servants in case you try to pull off something with them. Signed, Samantha.'
As I finished this, I got enraged at the extra precautions my maid had taken. "Well, did she put anything about a travel around circus that came up?" As I asked this, Kyrie came in with a letter. "Alexandria! This letter just came in!" she called out to her. Alexandria got a hold of the note and read it quickly. She reached into the envelope and pulled out a pair of tickets.
"Milady, here are some tickets for that circus you asked about." she seemed to smile as she handed me the tickets. 'Samantha must be looking out for me even if she is not here. . .' "Lady Molly, who are you taking with that extra ticket?" asked Jorrel as he came in with the groceries for dinner and the rest of the week. "I don't know. . .Kyrie would you like to go with me?" I asked as I started to make my puppy dog eyes. "Alright milady, but you better behave or I will leave you there and pretend that I don't know you." She warned.
I smirked at her, "Maybe. . .maybe not. . .it all depends on my levels of maturity that day. . ." I let the information sink in and saw her expression. She seemed monotone, but in her eyes, her eyes showed an intense fright. "Alexandria, I want cake!" I ordered. She handed me a plate of vegetables and sat me down in the dining area. "Food first." Was all she said.
I pouted as I looked up to Alexandria, "Please Alexandria? I won't tell Samantha!" She looked at me unaffected and frowned. "No milady! You need to eat healthier!" she countered. I said nothing as I stiffened with shock. She noticed my wide eyes and stiff body because she calmly asked me if I was okay. I tried to loosen up my body but it would just not move.
This struck Alexandria bad, "Milady are you okay?" she asked. I said nothing as she kept asking question. "Oh for god's sake, answer me Molly Anne Todd Lockhart!" My full name snapped me out of my trance and I swiftly walked out of the kitchen. I had not gotten what I wanted, but I was sure that I wouldn't want it anytime soon.
I could hear the other servants saying, "Mistress, where are you going?!" or "Are you okay? I'm pretty sure she didn't mean anything mean!" I heard them, but chose to ignore them and proceeded to my room. I got to my room and locked myself inside. "Samantha. . ." I placed my chin on top of my knees.
Midnight Moon jumped from my terrace on to the floor and walked over to me. "Hey there Night. . ." I told him and he meowed in return. I started to scratch behind his head and he started to purr. I sighed, "maybe I can jump out the window and get away for a while . . . the circus is tonight, but I left the tickets in the kitchen." I was pretty much talking to myself now.
Midnight Moon stopped purring, snapping me out of my thoughts, "What is it Night? Are you going to get mad at me too?" he got up from his spot and jumped back down from the terrace. "There he goes. . ." I thought, "I can pretend at least to be at the fair, I have a pretty big imagination for my age and status." I went to the wardrobe and looked at my dresses.
I picked a scarlet red dress from my wardrobe and some white shoes that had red laces around the edges and a small red bow in the center. I let go of my braided hair and brushed it making small waves in it. I had put on my dress and shoes. As I placed the blood red bow where it usually is put by Samantha, I stared at outside.
The sun was setting and the sky had become an array of reds, yellows and oranges. I so desperately wanted to write in my journal and use the setting in my story, but I couldn't because I wouldn't be able to show Samantha my work. She would usually read it and tell me if I had anything wrong or if she just loved it. I started to mourn, but I pushed the thought away because it wasn't time to mourn, it was time to pretend I was at the circus!
I heard the soft tapping from Midnight Moon as he landed back into my room. "You have come back. . ." I told him, still not looking at him. He purred and walked back towards me seeming like he wanted to tell me something. "What is it Night?" I ask as I finally turn to look at him. In his mouth were the tickets for the traveling circus I wanted to go to. "You got them for me? How?" he just rubbed against my dress while he purred.
I looked out the window and back to the door then down the terrace. Alexandria wouldn't know I will be gone for tonight. . .or anyone for that matter. . . I grabbed my purple coat and headed for the terrace balcony. I had to find a way to get down without attracting attention. . . I saw that there was a tree that could be used, but it was a window away. I could walk the ledge and get onto the tree but it would take real cat reflexes to get through it.
Midnight Moon got across easily enough and beckoned me to do the same. I looked back one more time before grabbing the tickets and my money pouch, tucking them safely in my coat pocket. I got onto the ledge easily, but there was a slight breeze blowing pushing me back little by little. I walked fine up until the window, where I peeked inside and found Alexandria cleaning, her back facing me. I quickly and carefully placed my hands on the glass helping me lead to the other side.
I moved my feet as fast as I could and before reaching the other side. The last thing I saw of Alexandria was her head lifting up as she finished cleaning and rubbed some sweat off her forehead. I walked the rest of the ledge nice and easy and got on the tree. There I hid in between the leaves and I got there just in time because Alexandria opened the window to let air into that room. I waited until she got out of the room before climbing down the tree.
I got to the base of the tree and was met with my garden that was being tended to by Kyrie nearby. I got Midnight Moon and placed him safely into my coat. I then proceed towards the front in which I still had to pass Kyrie and the kitchen where Jorrel was most likely to be in. I heard Kyrie humming and it got louder as she came closer. I decided to hide behind a rose bush close to the wall and stayed quiet until Kyrie passed by, leaving me unnoticed.
Once she had finished tending to the roses in the area she moved to the opposite direction from where she came. I carefully got out and plucked a rose in case I ran into someone I wanted to praise. A low purr came from Midnight as I heard footsteps coming my way. I quickly but quietly ran towards the kitchen's backdoor and stopped to hide in a normal bush again. It was Alexandria and she seemed to be talking to Jorrel about something, "Jorrel, it seems that the mistress doesn't what to talk to me. . .go and talk to her for me please?"
Jorrel simply said, "l don't know how since she's mad, but I'll see what I can do Alexandria." I heard Jorrel's footsteps disappear and soon after, so did Alexandria's. I got out of the bush and peeked my head into the kitchen, checking for any signs of life. Once I didn't see any, I quickly dashed for the door that would lead me to the front of the manor.
At the front of the manor, I ran through the posies placed in the center of the design. I had some trees placed as a forest to surround me. I ran towards the tree shade of the nearest tree and caught my breath; suddenly, in the garden, it could be heard that all three servants I had looking for me and screaming my name. I checked Midnight Moon to see if he was okay and he seemed fine, a little spooked, but fine. I pet his head to reassure him and told him that he was going to be my companion for the night.
I was lucky I lived near the city and not out by the field, isolated from the city. I only had to walk for a little while before reaching the edge of London and hailing a cab. I got on the cab and told the man, "To Belvedere Road please." I paid him and he took me there. I saw the circus and the carnival having colorful displays and I was excited that I got out of the cab almost forgetting Midnight Moon. I caught myself and placed him back in my coat. The carnival/circus took up most of Jubilee Gardens and it was near the pier where my business took place.
I prepare to get to the show and have a good time. . .at least I thought it would be for me. . .
Hope you enjoyed this chapter and I am working on the next one after I post this one. Next time we will find out what Molly sees at the carnival/circus; also Molly's fear is discovered in the next one, just a spoiler for you. . .
