AN: Sup homies? How's it hanging around dis hood y'all? XD! Sorry, my cousins from downtown Philadelphia visited. Their ghetto slang kinda rubbed off on me! I really didn't think I'd get THAT many positive reviews on that fluff scene from last chapter, I was never really good with those kinds of moments. But hey, now I discovered something about myself! Time for messages!

MCA97: What made that awkward? If you do not like the fluff scene, simply skip over it. It says in the description "BlazexOC". Just to warn you that there will be MORE fluff scenes in the future.

Now, without further delay, chapter 9!

We're saved…

The boat comes closer and eventually beaches itself on the sand. I hear Blaze, Rouge, and Amy run up behind me. I see a hatch on the roof of the cabin unlatch and a raccoon sticks her head out. It's Marine!

"It's them!" she calls down below. Next Tails' head pops out, followed by Sonic's. "Well what are you guys waiting for? Do you want to stay on that island?"

"Hell no, let's move!" I say and hop in. The girls follow right behind and there's a huge reunion. Rouge with Knuckles (Who knew?) and Sonic with Amy? I thought she was that stalker girl that followed him around all the time. Since when did he act all lovey-dovey around her? Well hey, now I've answered the ultimate question. You hear that Sonic fans? I KNOW THE TRUTH! I decide not to speak but instead take a seat next to shadow. He smirks at me then asks:

"So how was it being stranded on an island with those three?"

"We didn't do anything Shadow."

"Sure, whatever."

"Oh yeah? Well where's your girlfriend?"

"…"

"That's what I thought." BOOM, OWNAGE!

"Wait, Marine! If we're here then that means we're in my dimension!" Blaze exclaims.

"Well, duh! Where did you think you were?" Marine responds from the wheel.

"You need to take us back to my palace. I think the Sol chamber has been breached!"

"Roger that, your highness."

"Damn right." Blaze shoots back before taking her seat. Marine backs us off the beach and hauls ass to Blaze's palace.

(BPOV)

"Can't this thing go any faster?" I ask frantically to the raccoon in the driver's seat.

"We're already going seventy, Blaze, this is top speed." Marine replies. A lay back in my seat.

Well this sucks. Wyatt says.

More than you think, if Eggman got all of the emeralds- I begin to say, but Wyatt cuts me off.

Hey come on, let's be positive! He takes my hand and gives it a small squeeze. I sigh and lean against him. Perhaps nothing really happened, right? We'll just go to the palace, set up defenses, and wait for him to come to us, right?

Wrong…

When we arrived at the palace, I hopped off the boat and stepped onto the beach to see my guards running to and fro, shouting orders frantically. I look over to where the Sol chamber was, and saw a large plume of smoke rising to the sky

"YOUR HIGHNESS!" I hear off to my right. I'm met with a most wonderful sight.

"Gardon, what happened here?" I ask the distraught koala. He points to the Sol chamber.

"Just yesterday, both Nega and Eggman used their combined resources to attempt a robbery."

"Did they succeed?" I ask, but Gardon looks hesitant to answer. I think I already know the outcome myself. I kneel down to his height and put my hands on his shoulders. "Gardon, did they succeed?" I ask more softly.

"Your highness, they attacked in the dead of night when most of us were in our quarters. Whatever defenders were up at the time held the chamber to their last breath. But by the time reinforcements arrived…" here goes, the outcome I knew from the start. "… All of the emeralds had been stolen and the doors to the chamber blown clean off their hinges." He finishes, looking down to the ground.

"Gardon?" I ask. The little koala looks up.

"Yes your highness?"

"Did they find the swords?"

"No they didn't. Have you really found him?" Gardon asks with a hopeful expression.

"Yes, I have." I call Wyatt over and Gardon inspects him closer.

"I suppose that the mind connection is active?" I nod. "Very well, come along."

(WPOV)

The little koala leads us to what looks like a random hole in the side of a cliff. As we enter I see places where hinges used to be. Whatever Eggman has with him, it's got kick. We enter a large chamber with many slots on the walls, obviously for Sol emeralds. You know, I've always wondered what this place looked like. Gardon leads us to a panel, where he presses a hidden button and two swords rise out of the floor. They are both identical, about three feet in length, double edged, with a gem on the hilt. The blade was solid steel by the looks of it, and the handle gold. The thing that really caught my eye was the gems. One was black, one was yellow. Oh yeah, and there was this badass looking flame design going down the flat side of the blade! It looked fucking awesome! He takes them from their holders. He holds them up for us to see.

"Ooh pretty!" I say. Blaze sighs irritably and begins to speak.

"This sword here." She says, pointing to the sword with the yellow gem. "Was originally forged for Damsel Percival-"

"Damsel? I thought Percival was a guy!" I say

"In your universe, maybe, but not here. Now back to what I was saying-"

"Ha! I told you guys I wasn't dreaming or going crazy!" Sonic exclaimed.

"SHUT UP!" Blaze shouted, flames spouting out of her body. Even Gardon cringed a little. "Now, this sword was forged as a gift for her husband, a knight from a faraway land." She continues, pointing to the sword with the black gem. "Ever since my family became guardians over the Sol emeralds, it's been a tradition to give each guardian a sword to further strengthen the bond."

"Why're they different colors?" I ask.

"Because after a guardian takes it, it changes colors to match the personality of the user. The black one was my father's, the yellow was my mother's. It is very rare for the two guardians to be both male AND female, more so to get married."

"So, what, I just take it and it works like a mood ring?"

"If you want to put it that way, then yes."

"Cool! I've always wanted a sword!" I say. Blaze takes the black gemmed sword from Gardon and hands it to me. As soon as it makes contact, the grip molds to the shape of my hand. The weight is evenly distributed throughout the length, making it easy to swing. But the gem doesn't change colors! What the he- OWOWOWOW! WHAT THE HELL'S GOING ON? IT FEELS LIKE MY FIRST CONTACT WITH THE SOL EMERALD ALL OVER AGAIN! I clench my eyes shut and wait for the pain to subside. When it does, I open them to see that the color of the gem has changed to a fiery red, just like my fur! I see Blaze take a deep breath before taking hers and tensing. Blaze's eyes open again and she takes a look at her sword. The gem has changed to the same lavender as her fur. Wow, I guess your fur color matches your personality? That would explain why Shadow acts so emo all the time!

So what was that about strengthening the bond? I ask.

Watch. She replies before taking her arm and pinching it. I yelp in surprise and rub the same spot on my arm.

Now I have to feel what you feel?

Yep, both physically and emotionally. Destiny…

Is a bitch. I finish. This is going to suck.

"Well, now that you've become acquainted with your weapons, shall we begin training you in the use of them?" Gardon asks. Me and Blaze look at each other, the answer flowing through the anxious feeling that we're both putting off.

"We're ready." We say at the same time.

(Five minutes later, training ring, palace grounds, BPOV)

Me and Wyatt stand side by side, facing Gardon. The three of us are in special protective suits that turn red when a blade strikes the material, confirming a hit.

Holy shit, I have a sword! Wyatt exclaims for the umpteenth time!

Shut up already, we get it!

Killjoy…

Argh! I'm seriously about to set you on fire!

Try it, see what happens to you!

Listen you little smart ass, I may love you, but that doesn't mean I'm going to go any easier-

"Alright, first thing, drawing and re-sheathing your sword." Gardon says like a teacher addressing his class. Me and Wyatt stop our argument and pay rapt attention.

"Um, Gardon, don't we need a scabbard or something?" Wyatt asks. Yes, wouldn't we need those?

"No, for these swords that you two are carrying, simply snap your fingers." We do as he says and snap our fingers. A small fire ignites at the end of the sword and quickly makes its way down the blade and towards our hands, the sword seemingly disintegrating as the flame passes. As Wyatt would say, badass!

"Whoa!" everyone else says from the small bleachers surrounding us.

"Now, to produce your sword, simply snap your fingers again." Wyatt and I snap again and a small flame appears in midair. It grows taller and takes the form of a sword. Then, in a flash of light, the sword appears, waiting for someone to take hold of it. I reach out and grab mine. Gardon nods then draws his own sword off his belt. "Now that that's settled, let's begin the actual instruction. Use your mind connection to defeat me." He commands.

"Gardon, one question before we begin?"

"What is it your highness?"

"How do you know all of this?"

"Your father told me to teach you when you came in possession of the sword before he died. EN GARDE!" the koala shouts, now in his fighting stance. I look over and see Wyatt taking an offensive stance.

I'll take the right. Wyatt says.

Roger that.

(SPOV)

I sit on the edge of my seat, anticipating the epic battle about to take place.

"GO!" Gardon yells. Wyatt and Blaze leap into action, Wyatt taking the right flank, Blaze taking the left. Gardon easily ducks under Blaze's overzealous swing and blocks Wyatt's as it comes down. With a quick jab Wyatt's out, and he fully focuses on Blaze. Blaze, having at least some sword training, manages to block his strikes while sending a few of her own. But she tripped up when she swung too hard, knocking her off balance and allowing an easy stab to the back from Gardon.

"Thanks for getting killed so early, dimwit." Blaze growls at her fellow guardian. What puts on an apologetic shrug.

"Sorry for growing up on a cattle ranch."

"I thought you said you knew some knife fighting!"

"Yes, KNIFE fighting, not SWORD fighting."

"Ugh, never mind, new plan." She says. She and Wyatt lock gazes for a few seconds then nod. They get back where they started and nod to Gardon.

(WPOV)

"GO!" Blaze shouts. I run straight towards Gardon and send a light jab with my sword. He arches forward, the blade scything through the air where his torso had been mere seconds before. But of course, I knew that's what he'd do. I crouch low and sweep his legs out from beneath him. he falls on his back with a thud and instinctively brings up his sword to block ME… but not Blaze! This whole time she's been positioning herself to execute the killing blow. While Gardon's attention is focused on me, she comes from behind and prepares to bring her sword down on him. Somehow he senses it and rolls out of the way just in time.

Go for the head. Blaze commands. At her signal I charge again and launch myself high into the air. I tuck my legs in and hold one arm out in front of me, the other bringing my sword back for a thrust. Blaze at the same time runs for him while keeping her center of balance low to the ground, holding her sword as to slice his legs off at the knees. I see the glint in his eyes that means one thing, he knows an escape route. God damn, I don't know how, but the old koala backflips out of the way of both attacks. I'm currently on my descent, so there's no way to stop myself! Blaze and I brace for the inevitable and crash into each other. I quickly get off her and offer her a hand, which she graciously accepts.

You okay beautiful? I ask. She blushes a little.

Yes. WYATT LOOK OUT! She yells and throws me and herself out of the way of a downwards swipe that would've cut me down the middle lengthwise. We take our defensive stances and prepare once more for the onslaught of grey furred doom . This time he attacks from above. Blaze blocks the sword and I grab him by the shirt, easily tossing him across the ring. That's when we go ballistic, never ceasing our assault, sending blow after blow. It all goes bad when one of us screws up, and that's when Blaze glances at me for a split second, giving Gardon just enough time to take her out with a downwards strike. Now it's just me and him. He attacks first with a diagonal swipe going down to the right. I leap back out of the way and follow up with a frontal jab to his chest. He knocks my blade out of the way and sends a side swipe in return. To counter, I roll back onto my back. I grab his ankles and pull his down to me. This is where I rule, wrestling! I put him in a choke hold and order him to tap. When he doesn't, Increase the pressure. He then pulls a move I should have for seen and head butts me in the muzzle. I let go with a yelp of pain, clutching my now heavily bleeding snout. While I'm lying he casually strolls over to me and taps me with the blade of his sword, making the suit go red. At hearing the match is over I lay back and pant my lungs out. I guess all that expenditure of energy is finally catching up with me! Blaze and I stand by the railing and take long gulps from the water jugs that were brought down here. She takes a little water and dabs it on my wound, wiping it clean.

"Thanks mom." I say with a chuckle.

"It's a sin to care about the one you love?"

"You two did very good that time. Do you know why?" Gardon asks, strolling over to us. We both shrug. "Because you used your connection to gain an advantage! Hurry up and get ready, this day is long from over!" he says before walking away. For the first time in my life I hear Blaze groan. I show my agreement by groaning too.

(Eight hours later.)

The two of us could just barely drag ourselves out of the courtyard. We're both covered with brand new wounds, ranging from cuts to scuffs to bruises. Every bone in my body feels like it was broken, then mended back together with duct tape. Blaze is actually leaning against me because she is so tired. Damn this stupid bond! Since I can now feel what she feels, her fatigue is added with mine, making a simple walk feel like wind sprints in football practice. With the help of Blaze, she directs me to my room where I'll stay and she heads to hers. I plop down on the bed, ready to hit the hay, when something occurs to me. I could really go for a shower or something. Let's see, Blaze said the bathroom was down the hall, so I might as well.

(BPOV)

As soon as I get to my room I toss my robe away and am left in my purple tank top and white leggings. I could sleep on a bed of nails right now, for Christ's sake! But first, a bath. I take a quick peek into the hall and silently make my way to the bathroom door. It creaks open and I'm back in familiar surroundings. It is a well- furnished room. Two sink and a large mirror take up one side, while a large tub, circle in shape, and ten feet across, take up the other. I discard my clothing and turn on all three faucets. While the tub's filling I pour in some bubble bath and wade over to the far end, where I let myself sink into the scalding hot liquid. With a sigh I sink down to where it's just the top half on my head visible. Without knowing it, the bubbles eventually cover up my whole head, obscuring me from view… big mistake.

(WPOV)

I slowly drag myself down the hall to the bathroom. I silently open the door, ignoring the pile of clothes that look suspiciously like Blaze's. Well, ain't it just my day? Someone already filled the tub! They even added bubble bath! I kick off my shoes and walk over to the pool of scalding hot goodness. Oh, you know how I said I couldn't find my… doodle? Well, hehe, I kinda found it… okay, I'll shut up now. I sink into the tub and stretch out with a sigh of relief. WAIT, WHAT DID MY FOOT JUST BRUSH UP AGAINST? It felt strangely like a tail! Who else could be here? Everyone else went to bed already, unless… I'm dead.

What's touching my tail? I hear Blaze ask. Shit! I can't move without giving myself away! I watch in horror as the little mound of bubbles at the opposite end slowly rises and gives way to two purple ears and hair, followed by two narrowed, golden eyes. Upon seeing me with my horror stricken face, the two eyes widen in complete and utter shock. I see Blaze's cheeks go red and her eyes narrow dangerously.

Wyatt.

Y-yes Blaze?

Run.

Much obliged! I say back and dart off down the hallway after um, concealing myself, a new found energy pulsing through me. That night, Gardon was doing his usual rounds when a red blur shot past him, screaming bloody murder, followed by a purple blur wearing a bathrobe, and carrying what looked strangely like a sword with a purple gem on the hilt. He sat still for a few second before sighing and saying something about "young love" and continuing on his route.

(30 minutes later)

"That wasn't a good idea" Blaze grunts from beside me. Huh, easy for you to say! You're not the one with an actual burnt tail.

"Ya think?" I respond. She sighs on clutches her tail. There's nothing on it. Now, my tail's a different story. It was burned by you-know-who, and since the bond was "strengthened", she can feel it too. She can also probably feel the small little gash from her claws going across my back. We enter my room and I fall back on the bed, out like a light. I don't feel it, but the fatigue must've caught up with her too, and she falls next to me.

(two hours later, BPOV)

My eyes slowly open and I find myself in a dark room. It takes me a few seconds to realize that I'm in one of the guest rooms. Why am I in here? I sense a presence next to me and make out a feline silhouette lying next to me. Oh, that's why. I snuggle up a bit closer to him and use his chest as a pillow. I could just get up and head back to my room, but I'm too tired right now. Besides…

I don't think I WANT to…

AN: Chapter nine folks! Just a little something, I have a small mini goal to reach 40 reviews by chapter ten, so If you guys could help me on that? That would be pretty awesome! Thx for reading!
