Well, guys, this has been an amazing journey since this is my first ever multi-chapter fanfic. This is going to be the last chapter for this(it's a short chapter,SORRY!), but don't worry, the story doesn't end here. Nothing ever really ends, does it? Well, enjoy!

Chapter 9

"Sammy, it's okay, it's okay, I'm here. I'm here. I'm not going to leave you." The words were faint, quiet, almost too quiet for Sam to hear.

Lucifer raised his fist and punched Dean two more times on his bloody and swollen face. Dean looked back at him, but he looked beyond the outside, the shell that Lucifer was in. He looked at his brother. He looked at Sammy. He ignored the man on the outside, the cold thing with dark eyes and a stoic expression, something masquerading as a boy.

"I'm not going to leave you," cried Dean.

Lucifer raised his arm once more, pulling it back, ready to end it all. But then something happened, something clicked into place. A reflected light shone into his hazel eyes. For the first time, they noticed the little green army man crammed into the ashtray of the Impala. The wind was the only thing they could hear. But then Lucifer couldn't hear anything, the world went black as Sam stepped forward, taking control.

The memories began to flood forward. Everything all at once...

Everything.

Warmth.

Feeling.

Pain.

Love.

...

Dean.

Sam gasped for air, lowering his fist with a grunt.

Dean could see him, he could see Sam.

The little mop-headed kid. The boy covered in graveyard dirt. The boy buried in books. The teen that suffered through it all. The fireworks reflecting in his eyes. The dreams of getting away. The boy that had become a man.

Sam.

"It's okay, Dean. It's going to be okay. I've got him." Sam reached into his pocket and pulled out the rings. He tossed them onto the ground and began to chant the incantation. The ground sunk into itself, creating a hole, the earth crumbling into it. The wind howled as it was sucked into the cataclysm. Sam's gaze held onto Dean's, staying there for a minute before glancing back at the pit. He looked at Dean again, breathing harshly, nodding his head, telling Dean he was ready.

"Sam!"

Both of them looked over at Michael. "It's not going to end this way. Stand back."

"You're going to have to make me!" shouted Sam.

"I have to fight my brother, Sam. Here and now. It's my destiny."

Sam looked back at Dean. He closed his eyes slowly. He raised his arms like Christ.

Michael rushed forward and grabbed Sam's jacket, trying to pull him away from the pit. However, Sam gripped tightly to Michael's arm and fell back, taking Michael, taking Adam with him. They fell into the hole, Michael's screaming echoing in his ears. Lucifer scratched away on the inside, but it was too late. Sam felt peace as he fell.

Dean gasped as he watched. A bright white light flashed from out of the pit. Dean shielded his eyes, and when he looked back, the hole closed. The wind quieted. Dean sat there watching the rings glow red hot on the grass. He leaned back against his car and let the tears fall. He closed his eyes and looked away.

After a while, he crawled on his hands and knees to the rings. He kneeled where Sam had fell in. He wiped the tears, mixing them with the dried blood smeared on his face. He ran his hand back and forth across the grass. Quietly, he whispered,...

"Sammy, it's okay. I'm here."

I hope you enjoyed this fanfic as much as I did writing it! Thank ya'll for sticking with me through this! Let me know what you think! I love to hear back from you. Sorry this chapter was so short. There's just not a lot to this scene, I guess. FYI If you didn't get it, the previous chapters are supposed to be the flashbacks that Sam has. I am writing some more fanfictions, two multi-chapter fanfics for sure (both Supernatural). One of them has its first chapter out, the other is still in progress, but it will be out soon so check them out(via my page)! I do have a OneShot up now, "So Darkness I Become" if you want a really dark Sam and DemonDean fic.

Thank you! Bye, guys! -CEAFiction
