"He doesn't want me anymore!" Rose cried hysterically.

"Now come on darl, you've got to calm down. I'm sure you've got it all wrong," Molly said.

"No Molly, I saw them!"

"Jack wouldn't do that to you," Molly shook her head. "It's that girl; I knew there was something about her."

"I saw them together Molly, you don't understand!"

"Did they kiss?"

"It looked like they were about to; I turned away before I could look. He wants to be with Adelaide and it's killing me," Rose croaked, tears were streaming down her face.

"You don't know all the facts," Molly said. "Look darl I'll go and talk to him, now you're staying here with me. I think you need to rest and a nice cup of cocoa."

"I don't want anything; I don't want to sleep or eat, I feel sick!"

"Look darl, getting wound up isn't going to help. I'll give that girl a piece of my mind!"

"No Molly don't, Jack obviously wants to be with her, not with me!"

"I don't believe that for one second! It's the girl, the moment I met Adelaide I knew there was something malicious about her!"

"Why would Jack be at her apartment? Why was it just the two of them? There must be something going on between them!"

"Rose you're over thinking this, please calm down. I know Jack and he'd never cheat on you, he's crazy about you. I'm a good judge of character Rose and I can tell a bad egg when I see one. I don't think Jack could ever look at a girl the way he looks at you. I tell you that Adelaide seems like a manipulative and scheming little so and so."

"I always knew she was a bit off, but I didn't think she'd go that far. Look Jack made his choice."

"Even if Jack did do anything with her, which I doubt, you have to remember he's probably in a very fragile state of mind."

Rose shook her head. "You don't understand. Maybe I made a mistake being with Jack, maybe I should go back to mother and Cal after all."

"Are you crazy? I thought you were a firecracker Rose and that's what I've always liked about you; if you go back to your mother and Cal you're not the gal I thought you were. You're making a mistake if you go back to them and what's going to happy to the little one?"

"I'll give the baby up for adoption; looking at it will remind me of Jack and how he betrayed me."

"Rose don't be so ridiculous! I know you darn well love that child, you're upset." Rose knew that Molly was right; she didn't really want to give the baby up for adoption, but she was in a bad state. She was going out of her mind. Rose couldn't sit still and she wanted to kick and scream because she was in such emotional turmoil. She wanted to tear her hair out and cry uncontrollably. She hoped that what she had seen wasn't the truth. Would Jack really be unfaithful to her? She always knew that Adelaide had a spiteful streak but she didn't think she'd go as far as to steal Jack. She didn't steal Jack, it took two to tango and he obviously wanted her. She was barely missing a few days and he was already hooking up with that bitch. He obviously didn't love her and didn't care that she had been missing. However it didn't make sense, it was so out of character of Jack, but then again maybe she didn't know him that well. He obviously wasn't bothered about her. Maybe it was a mistake leaving Cal and mother. Life wasn't worth living; she would go back to Cal and mother and resume her old life. She didn't want to loose her baby either; she loved the baby, but she felt powerless. She couldn't even think about the baby.

Rose felt a sharp sudden pain in her stomach and she doubled over in pain.

"Rose! Are you alright?" Molly gasped. "Good gracious, I'm calling a doctor." Rose cried in pain as she clutched her stomach. She could see blood trickling between her legs. She was losing the baby.
