Hiiii guys. Sorry I've only posted one chapter a day the past couple of days. I've been busy. Oh, and random question… have you seen that video on YouTube of the racecar hitting the deer? It cracks me up.

Oh, and PLEASE review! Tell me how I'm doing!

Here is Jack again… he says hi…

JACK's POV

Once we were in the car I was still seething from the cinnamon discovery. It really pissed me off how Calypso would just put hundreds of people in danger knowing we'd go and help them. She is just such a… female dog.

We were driving through Texas and no offense if you live in Texas, but it sucks. Sorry, but there is nothing there! Except for a lot of fences and some cows, at least. It was enough to drive you crazy. It didn't help when Macy and KP decided to play 'I Spy'.

"I spy…" Macy stared out the window, tapping her chin. "Something gray."

"Is it the road?" KP asked.

"Yeah! Your turn!"

"I spy something metal."

"Is it a fence?"

"Yepp! Your turn!"

"Will you shut up?" I groaned.

Macy looked at me happily. "Well you're just a Mister Grumpy Gills right now." She turned back to the window. "I spy something brown."

"The grass?" KP guessed.

"Yeah! I spy…"

And so it went on. For two hours. I guessed I was being a Grumpy Gills, so I decided to take a nap.

When I woke up, I was lying in a motel bed, tucked under the covers.

"How did I get here?" I grumbled, sitting up and rubbing my bleary eyes. KP was sitting next to me, flipping through the TV channels.

"We teleported through the space-time continuum and ended up here."

"Really?"

"No, idiot. We pulled up here for the night and carried you up the stairs."

"Oh."

KP stopped flicking through the channels and turned the TV off. "Nothing good on," she said. "I'm going to bed." She burrowed under the covers and lay on her side. "I suggest you get some sleep too."

"I just took a seven hour nap," I said.

"Then go down to the pool or something, I don't care. Just don't wake anyone up."

I slowly got up, trying to be as silent as possible. Ian and Macy were sleeping on the same bed. Well, there were only two beds and a foldout, and Annabeth was the oldest, so naturally she'd get the foldout to herself. KP and I were sharing a bed, too.

Somehow, Macy wound up using Ian's shoulder as a pillow.

I have to say, it was quite adorable.

On the way to the door, as I was being stealthy and ninja-y (so I wouldn't wake anyone up) I stubbed my toe. Hard. I gasped and bit my lip, hobbling around in circles. I could see KP giving me a death stare that said, you'd better shut up or I'll knock your teeth out. From their bed, Macy mumbled in her sleep.

I closed the door as quietly as possible, and walked down the hall to the pool.

I saw Annabeth sitting on the edge, her legs dangling in the water. I sat next to her.

"Hi," I said awkwardly.

"Hey," she said back. She was looking at the water, but her gray eyes weren't focused. I could tell she was thinking about someone else as she dragged her feet back and forth through the clear blue water.

"You've been awfully quiet through this whole quest," I pointed out.

She sighed, tugging on her long blonde hair. "I know."

There was a pause.

"You're thinking of him, aren't you?" I asked.

"No," she said quickly.

"Yes you are," I said.

"Yes, I am." She sighed. "It's just… I miss him, so much. It's not even funny. And it's weird, because most people think I know everything right?"

"You are a genius," I admitted.

"But I don't even know… why he didn't tell me." She must've noticed the imaginary question mark that popped over my head. "About the Calypso thing," she finished. "I never knew about her."

"Well-" I started. "Ok, I'm no good at this relationship stuff, but I'm gonna give it a go. Have you ever lost someone you love? Wait, no. Scratch that. Have you ever had to leave someone you were in love with to save your friends? Because that's what Chiron said Percy had to do, right?"

"Yeah," Annabeth said, still staring at the water. "That's what Chiron said. He came back for the quest."

"So it probably hurt too much to talk about."

Annabeth nodded sadly.

"Maybe that's not even the whole reason he left her, though." I added. "Maybe he came back… so he could be with someone else."

Annabeth looked at me. "You really think so?"

"Yeah."

Annabeth sniffed, and wiped her eyes. "Thanks, Jack."

"You're welcome."

"You know, you're not as dumb as you seem to be."

I grinned. "Oh, thanks."

She got up. "I'm going to bed. See ya." She gave one last sad look at the water, and headed up back to the room.

I stayed at the pool for a little while longer, and then followed her back upstairs.

When I got back to the room, she was asleep on the foldout. Macy and Ian were still snuggled up together (I resisted the urge to draw mustaches on their faces) and KP was curled on the corner of the bed. I crawled back under the covers, and decided a little more sleep wouldn't hurt me.

In my dream, I was in a huge, fancy dining room. There was a long, mahogany table filled with every food imaginable. At end of the table, Calypso sat, calmly eating a salad. At the other end sat Percy. He didn't look anything like he did the last time I saw him. At camp, he was always happy and energetic and joking around, his green eyes filled with laughter. Now he looked tired and miserable. There were dark circles around his eyes. He wasn't touching his steak. I saw him holding a sharp steak knife under his napkin though, fingering the blade as he stared at Calypso, absolute hate in his eyes.

Calypso continued to eat her salad. After a while, she cleared her throat and said, "Percy, would you like some more water?"

His water glass was full already, and he just stared at her disgustedly.

Calypso sighed and put down her fork. "You know, this relationship isn't going to work if you don't cooperate."

"This isn't a relationship," Percy growled. "You're keeping me prisoner, remember?"

Calypso ignored the last comment. She sighed. "You keep pushing me away. Like I did, when we were together on Ogygia."

"We were never together!" Percy burst out. "We were never a thing; I don't get how you always think so!"

"Admit it. You did love me then."

"Fine," Percy spat out. "I did, OK, happy? I loved you for like, maybe two weeks at the most? Now I love someone else. Will you please let me go?"

Calypso looked hurt. "No."

"Why not?" he moaned, exasperated.

"You really should eat something," Calypso said, pointing to his steak. "You're getting thin. You'll get sick."

"You didn't answer my question."

"Fine. I'm not letting you go because I love you. And that blonde girl is no good for you. It's not a healthy relationship."

"Yes, it is, she is good for me, and I'm good for her. Would you call this… imprisonment a healthy relationship?"

"Not yet. It will be though."

"You're impossible, you no good sea witch!"

"Don't call me that-"

Her scream was interrupted at Percy stood up, and in a flash, had raised his hand holding the steak knife and thrown it straight at her face with deadly accuracy.

It stopped in midair, a hair away from her eye. Then it fell onto the table with a clang.

"It's going to be harder than that to kill me," she whispered dangerously.

Percy stared daggers at her. Heavy shackles appeared around his wrists and ankles. He was dragged out of the room by a large Cyclops.

Calypso sat down and sighed. She held the knife up, causing light to reflect on the shiny silver blade. "In time," she said. "Now, to just stall that idiotic quest…"

Have you ever driven through Texas? Isn't Icy (Macy and Ian) cute? Do you feel bad for Annabeth? Will Percy give in to Calypso? Isn't she such a little witch with a B?

I wanted to get some Annabeth in there, because I haven't mentioned her that often. Yeah… and the whole Icy snuggling thing was Daydreamer63's idea, and Ii totally had to put that in so thanks!

New chapter soon, probably. I'll try to get another one in today.
