Summary - Yuuki and Zero have to stay at the academy for three weeks on their own. Zero has become more distant and rude after a vampire hunter mission. Why is he this way? Why is he treating Yuuki rudely?
A/N - Alright. So, if you're wondering why the hell it took me four weeks to update (yeah, that's an approx. right there), I'll tell you the whole story below. I know that some people find it annoying at the start.
Mistakes are all mine, sorry if I didn't notice them when I re-read the chapter.
THANKS TO;
CrystalVampire: Now... I feel really bad -.- Sorry. Hope this chapter will be fine and make up for it?
Zeki Fan: Another random plot from REDemption, hahahah! Sorry, it was random to be honest. But I'm learning to make plot-outlines, honest! ... Okay, maybe not so much. Other stories, yes. This... No.
MzAwesomeness911: Thanks... Here's the long-awaited update *sweat-drop*
Luvyait: Are you... still alive? Lol. I lie. Thanks.
lizzykittystar: Thanks. Like I've said before, I find it hard to write as Zero, so I prefer Yuuki. Yet... I can write in the POV of harder characters that are cold b - Eh hem... better not.
Nightwing15: Thanks. I like reviews like these.
Chapter 9 - Yuuki's Point of View
Chapter 9 – Yuuki's POV
"Zero…" I whined and glared down at him. He wasn't even paying attention to me. Whatsoever. I pouted before turning my head and sighing in defeat. It had been a few days since… that incident. Also, school is starting tomorrow. Fun. As much as I absolutely want to get back into the lovely subject called maths. I think I just shivered. Zero, Ichiru and I were sitting at the table waiting for the headmaster to cook his… food. Yeah, I don't know why I even continue to call it that. I mean, at least he is trying to cook, but it's rather disgusting.
Ichiru sniffed and then crinkled his nose. "Tch… That smells really, really disgusting." He mumbled quietly, so only Zero and I could hear. Zero had a faint – very faint – smirk on his face. I sighed. I should have known that Ichiru would have thought that about the headmaster's cooking as well. The scent was rather… disgusting. Even Zero had a slight look of disgust on his handsome features. Wait, handsome? Okay, he is handsome and probably should get more credit from the girls here. But honestly? Again, I did have my first kiss with him, but that isn't the point!
I felt my cheeks begin to get to a heat that would be called scorching. Great. Zero noticed and watched me for a moment before standing up and walking out into the kitchen. Probably to go and convince the headmaster to just get take-out. "So… whatcha thinkin' about, Yuuki?" Ichiru asked with a sly tone. I think I turned ten shades redder. Great.
"Uh… n-nothing." Slight stutter there, nothing too much of course. But that smirk on Ichiru's face said different. Crap. I sweat-dropped before hearing a bang. "The heck?" I mumbled and Ichiru was already standing upright. I heard a string of curses from the kitchen – from Zero, of course. I stood up as well and followed the younger Kiryuu out into the kitchen to see pots all over the floor. Boiled oil was everywhere. Zero was giving the headmaster the deepest glare that I have seen in quite a while, especially aimed at the silly man. He really is in a horrible mood. Note to self: talk to Zero later on tonight.
He then speed walked out the door. I watched as he left and then looked to the headmaster who seemed too preoccupied to really notice. I headed out myself, my goal was to find Zero.
Zero has a terrible habit of being able to hide. Anywhere. I could not find him. Not at all. I sighed to myself and took a deep breath. I then heard footsteps from behind me, I gasped and then froze. "It isn't best to be out here, Yuuki." A smooth voice sighed. I turned my head slightly and saw the pureblood vampire that I had envied so much and that had saved me when I was younger.
"Why?" I asked a little dumbly and he gave me a look. Oh yeah… the pureblood wandering around. Wait… "Kaname-sempai," he stiffened at the suffix. "Do you have a brother?" Again, he stiffened. I sighed. Why again did I ask him? I'm nearly positive that he would not answer.
Kaname exhaled deeply and ran a hand through his deep brown locks. "I can't really say much about him, but it seems that you have seen him. His name is Hiro. He was kicked out of the family by my parents. He's two years younger than I am, and he is rather ruthless." The dark-haired vampire sighed and then bit his lip with his slightly sharp fangs. "Why do you ask?"
"Uh… Headmaster said that the vampire – the pureblood one that had been attacking us was your brother." I said honestly. He nodded his head and then sighed. He seemed rather distressed about all of this. Maybe he was close to his brother? "Do you know why he's doing this?" I decided to ask.
Kaname shrugged in a rather unpolite manner, it was odd of him to do that. "I'm not too sure, Yuuki. Possibly because of his want to be the only pureblood vampire? That would be the only thing I can think of. But he is one of those people who are much too afraid to act on his thoughts." The pureblood then turned on his heel, "I would head back to the dorms, Yuuki. It's too dangerous to be out here. See you tomorrow. Farewell." And with that, he began his brisk walk towards his own dorms.
"What was that all about?" A hoarser voice said this time. I nearly peed myself right then and there. What's with people and scaring me tonight? I already knew that it was Zero behind me. He had a different voice compared to others, it was a rather nice sounding voice. It also matches his personality and looks. It's unique, but nice. Yeah… scratch Zero's personality. He's just been mean. Though it is understandable.
I looked at Zero, his moon-stone eyes showed… pain? Was he pained by my talk with Kaname? But we did not do anything. "Uh… we only talked about his brother, Zero." I mumbled with a smile. Zero looked at me with a, 'yeah right' sort of expression.
I sighed and rolled my eyes. "I need to talk to you, Zero." I said, seriousness returning to my tone. Zero froze for a moment before relaxing. Was he going to hear me out? Or was he just going to run off. "Like I've said before; I'm sorry. I know I really, really hurt you and I still am hurting you." I paused and then tried to figure out a way to keep on talking to Zero. "I… have feelings for both you, Zero, and Kaname-sempai. But for whatever reason, my feelings for Kaname-sempai…" I bit my lip, "… feel more like a thing I need to have rather than a right. I guess it has something to do with the fact that he had saved me. But I don't feel the same towards you, it's as if…" I wanted to pull my hair out. "… it's … uh…" I didn't really know what to say.
Zero seemed to notice and then spoke himself, "I understand that you have feelings for Kuran. But before you can even bother choosing, or going after whoever it is that you want, find out who it is that you truly like. You can't have the both of us, Yuuki. I'm sure Kuran wouldn't want to share, and I sure as hell wouldn't share anything that is mine with that bastard. It's odd though, you saying that you're feeling as if you're forced to like Kuran. Not that I'm complaining, I guess. Talk to me again when you find out who it is you like. I won't ignore you, and I'll be there for you. But don't expect me to -…"
I was crying. I don't know why. But I started crying. "Arigatou, Zero!" I yelled and then pulled him into a hug. The vampire stiffened for a moment and then allowed his arms to wrap around me gently. He placed a chaste kiss on the top of my brown hair before pulling back.
The silver-haired vampire watched me for a moment, "I'm heading back now. I'll take you back to your dorm." He muttered and I followed him back to my own dorm-room.

[. . . To Protect Her. . .]
-
The next morning, my alarm clock woke me. I turned to my side and saw a sleeping Yori. When did she get here? Oh well. Yori sat up and stretched her arms above her head. I turned off the stupid invention and waved at my best-friend. She smiled softly and murmured a greeting before looking at the hanging up uniform. "When did you get here?" I asked.
"Well, I got here around ten last night. So, I was being really, really quiet and since you're such a heavy sleeper… I wasn't too scared of waking you up." The usually quite friend of mine murmured and then smiled at me, "So… what happened during our break?" she asked and I decided on whether or not to tell he what had happened with Zero. So I did.
She listened intently as I told her what had happened. But she seemed annoyed with the fact of my feelings about Kaname. "Look, Yuuki. I understand why Zero wants you to hurry up and choose, I mean… I wouldn't want to sit around all day for a boy that I've liked for – oh, I don't know, ages!"
"Huh? What do you mean?" I asked.
Yori blinked. Once. Twice. And then sweat-dropped. "Yuuki… you're dense. It's obvious that Zero has like you for ages." She breathed and then rolled her eyes.
"Uh…" I then blushed.
The orange-haired girl then rolled her eyes, "You really need to learn to read the signs, Yuuki. I can't believe he was your first kiss though. Was he any good?"
I flushed and then threw a pillow at her. "Shut up!" I squealed.
She caught the pillow and threw it back. Yes, this ended up in a five minute pillow fight. Then we remembered that we had to leave for school.
The day itself was rather uneventful. Zero and I did not have patrol tonight since the headmaster did not want us to do anything since our short holidays finished early. The silver-haired hunter had once more disappeared and left me behind on my own. Even Yori disappeared. Man… do those two just like me being alone?
I then found myself at the stables one more. How did I get here? Oh well. I may as well hang around here with the horses. I then felt that I was being watched. I looked around and noticed Zero relaxing on a hay bale near White Lily. Oh yeah… I should have thought that he would have come here after school. "Hey, Zero." I greeted in a mumble. The vampire heard me and let out a light grunt.
I walked closer to him and noticed that he looked pale. Oh. God. He hasn't been fed in ages. I'm surprised that he hasn't shown the major – and bad – signs of bloodlust. "Zero… do you need -…" he stopped me by sitting upright and watched me with determined, lilac eyes.
"Iie." He said shaking his head before growling lowly at me, "I don't need it. I haven't needed it-…"
"Zero! I don't want to see you do this to yourself, you know that I'm fine with you feeding off of-…"
"But I'm not!" Zero snarled and then stood upright with crimson irises blazing. He then covered his face with his large hands and hissed. "Kuso…" he mumbled more to himself then to me.
I slowly made my way to him. I knew that I was taking a bit of a risk here doing this, but I honestly didn't care. "Zero… It's okay. You can't hurt me, I know you. I know that you won't; I trust you, with everything, Zero." I whispered in a soothing tone. I needed him to feed on me. He was going to die if I didn't allow him to. I couldn't imagine a world without the stoic vampire. Never.
He uncovered his face, but kept his silver bangs over his eyes to make sure that I couldn't see his scarlet gaze. Using one hand, he pulled me towards him so that I was pressed up against his rock-solid chest. His head dipped down. The man's breathing became rough and fast. "You're… a total idiot, Yuuki." He mumbled as he allowed his glossa to taste the bare flesh of my throat.
"I'm fine… like I said, Zero." I mumbled and gently kissed the top of his head. He hissed before sinking his fangs into my flesh. I gasped at the feeling. He was being a little rougher than usual. A few tears escaped my tear ducts. Itai… His drinking was harsh. I don't know why. But when I thought about it, it might be because of the fact that he was hungry. As I thought, his feeding became a little gentler. It was not painless, of course, but it was easier to handle.
After a few more moments, Zero slid his fangs out and gently licked and kissed his twin bite marks before moving away all together. He then did something I did not expect, he pushed me up against the wood of the stable and I instinctively wrapped my arms around his waist. I watched him with my cinnamon eyes as he watched me with his moonstone gems. "Did I hurt you?" he asked, and I kind of blushed. I was… not… thinking of things… I should be. He raised a silver eyebrow. "Nani?" he asked in a snappish sort of tone.
I watched him cautiously. Did Zero not notice what sort of position we were in? I mean, I'm not completely innocent. Okay, I am a virgin. But I did know what sex was. From the look of things, Zero did not know that I was not completely dense towards this kind of stuff. "Z… Zero…" I whispered in a stutter. He sniffed and then licked away my tears from earlier.
"What is it?" he asked with a hoarse tone before burying his head into my neck once more, leaving soft kisses behind. I moaned lightly and found my hands gently grasping his hair. His silver locks were rather soft and cushioned my fingers. He then pulled away from my neck and covered his lips with mine to start a hot kiss. His tongue, tasting like my blood, fell inside of my mouth and I pulled at his hair a little tighter. I felt a tiny bit bad about it, though. He didn't seem to notice and kept on kissing me. It felt right. So, so right!
He then dropped me and I barely landed on my feet. The vampire then turned around in an effort to hide his face. "Why…?" I whispered and watched the moon-eyed man growl and clench his fists by his sides. He… was not too sure what to say. Something… was up.
"I shouldn't have done that again." Zero growled and then sniffed the air. "I should know better than to do that. I did say so myself, didn't I? Maybe I didn't voice it, but it's the same. I made a promise to myself to not touch you in that way, unless you had decided on me."
"Bite me again, Zero." I said with bravery. He looked at me as if I was crazy. "Yeah. You heard me. Just do it, before I change my mind… Zero." I murmured and Zero moved closer to me. He wasn't resisting… His tongue once again came out and he did it much slower this time, his need for blood not as strong. I wonder why it is that he is fine with it, at least at this moment. Zero gripped my arms before along his fangs to pierce my skin once more. After a few gulps of blood, he pulled back and watched me with a shocked expression.
Author's Note - So, most of my stories got deleted due to well... adult content. I mean come on! They got all of my... lemony stories. I dunno... Whatever. I'm not gonna complain about it - the complaining is on my profile, thank you very much. So yes. I was a little down because a story that I've written - Oh I don't know, over 30 chapters for was deleted. I think I'm just going to write the adult content on another site. Beh... maybe LiveJournal? I don't know. Whatever. So lemony/limey content will be... less shown throughout this.
Or, I can write the lemon version and then edit it out when I post it here - I'll make note of it, of course - and then you can ask me to PM you the lemon version. Just a quick warning though, I think I can write lemons... but it's only when I have an actual want to. So yeah. If it's just tossed together like salad, you can tell the reason why.
TELL ME WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO DO PLEASE. I'M NOT GOING TO JOIN ANOTHER WEBSITE FOR NO REASON, EITHER.
Quick fact about me: I suck at maths. Yet I'm good at science. Like, I always get A's and stuff for it. I'm also an A-student in art and English. Hm... I suck at sports - hate them too. But I'm good at the theory part of it. Heh.
Quick question: Are there any good manga to read? Like... supernatural/fighting stuff? I don't care if it's not completed, as long as it has good art and a story-line worth keeping in touch with.
