Three days later Sesshomaru found himself following his father "Do we not have a war to tend to father, can we afford the time to this?"

"So eager to return to bloodshed are we Sesshomaru?"

"You know I am,"

"Look we are here," He said with a giant smile. "Id much prefer the beauty of this than the blood of battle,"

Kikyo opened the door "My Lords, to what do we owe this pleasure, surely you do not seek favors here?" Her voice held a slight tease.

Inutashio laughed "No no my dear, but I do wish to seek your council,"

"Very well, come, join me."

The two proud, strong Inu males entered. The snow started to fall and not soul around to see it.

Sesshomaru looked around the room.

"She is reading that book you gave her in the sunroom,"

Sesshomaru looked at Kikyo not liking that she could read the unspoken question,

"Or was this a conversation for three?" Kikyo asked,

"No no, he came to see her and I came to see you,"

"I did not come to seek out the younger sister," It wasn't a total lie,

"Oh, but I thought you were going to tell her about your bride?" His father stated.

"I known not of my bride, father," He said darkly,

"She is beautiful and educated well, and many seek her hand yet she wants only you."

Sesshomaru did not look impressed "So my bride to be is overconfident and vain?"

His father laughed "Sesshomaru the girl is unaware just as you are, now go give Kagome something to chew on while I speak to Kikyo."

Sesshomaru nobbed, well, since he was here why not. He wasn't the gossiping type, and he knew Kagome wasn't either, but boredom came fast around this house if she kept to herself.

He followed the dark hallways till he found a room with light. He entered it and saw Kagome sitting in a window seat with a blanket her eyes scanning the book he gave her.

She looked to be deep in thought as she read the book.

Sesshomaru flared out his aura, how she missed him and his father, to begin with, was beyond him.

"Oh!" Kagome put down the book, and the looked "Lord Sesshomaru!" She tossed off the covers and stood "I didn't know you were here, back so soon?"

"My father had words in which to speak with your sister,"

"Your dad is here!" She smiled brightly, why did everyone like his father so much?

"You wish to see him?"

"Of course!"

"He will seek you when he is finished with your sister,"

"Why did you come?"

"You wished to know of my bride did you not?"

"Oh, do you know who!" She sat back down, he walked up and sat next to her "No I am unsure of who,"

"Then how are you going to tell me of your bride, don't be a tease like that,"

He rose an eyebrow at her words "My father," He said slowly "Has told me of her."

She beamed up at him,

"I am told she is beautiful,"

"Arnt they all?" Kagome asked,

"What?"

"Arnt all demoness beautiful, I haven't met one, yet that isn't," It was true, even for the males.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder woman, while they all may be pretty to you to us they all look the same, for my father to deem her beautiful, she must be in more ways than one."

"And why wouldn't she be, she would need to be."

He looked at her with question in his eyes, and she blushed "Don't tell me you don't know,"

"Know?"

"Perhaps you aren't as vain as people think," She stood,

"Vain?" He repeated,

"Hm, wonder If I should tell you,"

"You will, at once," He demanded, what were people saying about it?

She glanced back at him and then away "Well, of course, she would have to be the most beautiful, because you are,"

He blinked and stood, was she calling him beautiful? Did she think he was beautiful?

Kagome hid her blush "Of course your strong like your dad and pretty like your mom,"

He turned her to see if she was indeed blushing, she was "I am not pretty." He said,

"So you didn't know?"

"I am not a female woman and I aware of my looks,"

No, no he wasn't female, and maybe he was vain.

"So that's all?" She said walking back "That not juice enough."

He looked at her "She is educated,"

"Well that's good," Kagome said pick up her book "I can't see you with a brainless woman,"
"Indeed not,"

"Are you getting giddy?"

"I do not get giddy woman,"

"Don't you wonder who she is?"

He had not cared a few days ago, but he was beginning to wonder "Hn" He said and slowly went back to sit with her.

"I am told many seek her hand,"

"Oh, so your have rivals?"

He snorted and crossed his arms "Impossible; she has been chosen by my house,"

"So, maybe she is like me,"

"Like you?" He looked at her puzzled,

"Mm, maybe she wants love, maybe she won't want to marry you,"

"She will not deny me," He sounded confident as if he knew the woman.

"She might,"

"No one would deny me,"

"You are vain," She said with a small smile.

He glared at her "Say it again Miko, and I'll show you what else I am."

She scooted away from him, and he smelt her fear, and oddly he did not find it pleasing at all.

"Kagome my dear is everything ok?"

His father walked in, and she bolted to him "Lord Inutashio!" She hugged him, and he hugged her back "Sesshomaru what did you do to her?"

Kagome pulled back "Oh he didn't do anything, it was my fault I got a little to open with my words," Kagome looked back at him "He has been most kind to let me speak as I have,"

Inutashio raised an eyebrow,

"I may have called him vain,"

"You did," Sesshomaru corrected her maybe.

"What brings you here my Lord?" Kagome asked Ignoring Sesshomaru.

"I came to see your sister, and you,"

"Me?"

"Yes, I was most displeased when I went to see you at your mother's, and you were not there,"

Sesshomaru listened, he wasn't aware his father went looking for the girl, he wondered why.

"Tell me Kagome are you happy here?"

"Uh, well sure,"

Inutashio looked at Sesshomaru then back at her "How could you be with such vain company,"

Sesshomaru growled, and Kagome giggled "Don't tease him," She said,

"Sesshomaru I will speak to her alone if you please," He said, Sesshomaru bowed his head and dipped out of the room and went back up front. Sesshomaru waited and grew impatient.

"He will not be long," Kikyo told him coming to stand near him at the front door,

Sesshomaru eyed her like that of a wary cat,

"My father went seeking her out before she came here?"

"Yes,"

"That is why he is really here?"

"He came to ask for help with your new sibling, he honors me, but it was not his only request,"

He looked back down the hall,

"He wishes to marry her off," Kikyo spoke,

"Why?"

"He feels responsible for Inuyasha."

Surely his father didn't tent to marry her to his brother did he. Before he could ask anything more, his father and Kagome came out and walked to him.

"Are you ready vain son of mine?"

Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes,

"Don't tease him," Kagome groaned "That's the last time I tell you anything, my Lord,"

"Come ill walk you out my Lord," Kikyo opened the door and walked down the step with Inutashio.

"Well I wish you luck," Kagome said to Sesshomaru,

"I do not need luck," He told her "She will not deny me,"

She shook her head, and then he handed her something, a piece of paper "What's this?"

"Give it to Totosia when he comes,"

He stepped down one step then turned "Kagome,"

She looked up "Hu?"

"Marry me?"

Her jaw dropped "What!" She blushed,

"Hn, you would deny me wouldn't you, much like your sister did my brother."

Then she realized "You're teasing me again!"

He actually chucked,

"Go away, "She snapped tucking her head high "I don't like you right now,"

He smirked, and she glared at him with one eye down at him,

"Shall I not return then?" He asked,

She crossed her arms and stuck her nose higher in the air "You can return when you bring me your heart you cold jerk,"

He turned his back to her "I don't have a heart woman," He walked down the steps to his father,

"Yeah well, I feel sorry for your bride!" She yelled,

He waved back at her without looking at her "She will not deny me,"

Both men smiled walking away when Kagome let out a long groan.
