I left school and went over to hang out with Jenna. I figured if Vic was going to hang out with someone then I shouldn't sit home and be bored while waiting for him to text me to say that I could come ove.
"Do you want to go to the mall with me? I want to buy a few things. It's nothing in particular but I have this need that I should fulfill and the only way I can do that is buying new things," she told me.
"Sounds like someone has an addiction," I teased. Shopping wasn't really my thing I decided I would go to keep myself interesting. Hey, maybe I will find something that I like too. The whole car ride was us just talking about nonsense. We were currently in some store called Charming Charlies.
"So, are you with anyone?" Jenna asked out of the blue. I got silent trying to figure out what to say. "It' isn't that hard to say yes or no." She laughed.
"Well, I'd prefer not to answer," I said to try and avoid more questions.
"Oh, so you are? Who is it? Tell me!" She begged.
"No one. Are you with anyone?" I asked turning the question on her.
"Oh, no I'm not," She said. "Do you like anyone?"
"Yeah, do you?" I asked.
"Yeah, he's actually in one of my classes," She told me. Is she talking about me? I am in one of her classes.
"Oh really? Do I know him?" I questioned. She responded with a giggle. "So I do?"
She suppressed a smile and didn't answer. I stared at her until she got so uncomfortable that she told me.
"Yeah, you do know him. Actually, you're closer to him than I am." As soon as she said it, it clicked.
"Jaime?" I asked. She replied with a nod.
"Please don't say anything. I don't want him to like not talk to me anymore because he feels awkward around me," She begged.
"I won't," I assured her. She walked towards a fitting room to try something on. I walked around until I got to the section that was supposed to be the guys. It was the smallest area for guys that I have ever seen. It was literally a small corner with a few shelves holding shirts and a stand holding manwelry, which is my way of saying man jewelry. I found this leather-like bracelet. Not many guys wear these kind of things because they aren't manly enough but I'm sure Vic will appreciate the gesture. I paid for it and got my change back just as Jenna left the fitting room.
"What did you buy?" She asked.
"Oh nothing special just this bracelet thing," I told her like it was nothing. She paid for her things and we left. We were sitting down at the food court and eating some Chinese food. Jenna was texting whoever so I decided to pull out my phone.

7 Missed Calls
I read the message first.
Vic: Ugh, this is weird. I wish he would stop talking.
I just laughed to myself.
Me: Then tell him to shut up.
I pressed send and checked my missed calls that were all from my mother. I excused myself from Jenna and called her back.
"Kellin, where are you? Why didn't you inform me where you were going?" My mother asked.
"I am at the mall with Jenna and I just didn't think about it. I am sorry," I said honestly. I usually am good about telling my mother when I am not going to be home on time and when I am leaving.
"You can be sorry for a week at home and not going anywhere," She said.
"You're grounding me?" I asked. I never get grounded.
"On your way home, will you pick up some food? I don't really care what but we have no food in the house," She said, dismissing my question.
"Yeah sure. Why are you grounding me? You never ground me," I said.
"You never gave me a reason to," She said. I hung up and asked Jenna to take me back to my car that was still at the school parking lot. I didn't have anymore than $50 in my pocket so my mother shouldn't expect much. I was sitting at a red light and singing at the top of my lungs.
Vic: He's driving me home now. Now, it's going to be all silent and awkward.
I just read the message without responding and continued on my way to Shop Rite.

On my way home, I decided I would take a little detour to Vic's so I could give him his bracelet and tell him that he won't be seeing me outside of school for a week. My way there took forever. It's like every red light to exist was existing on my route to Vic's. When I got there, I made my way up to his apartment by stairs because the elevator apparently stopped working. Today is really not my day. When I got to the top with my chest heaving, I limped over to where Vic's apartment is. I really need to work out more. I stopped in my tracks as I saw Britain leaving Vic's place. Before Britain walked away, I watched him lean in and kiss Vic. Vic didn't pull away. The kiss only stopped when Britain pulled away. Vic's eyes wandered afterwards and they locked with mine. He didn't expect to see me and I didn't expect to see that. So much for the car ride being silent and awkward. I stormed my way down the stairs so I could return home.
