Chapter 9

The Groovy Wind

To say that things were rather busy lately would have been an insult to the events that had transpired in the last few days, at least that is how Shesh saw such events, after all, between Korra joining a Pro-bending team and a group known as Equalists showing up to say the city felt rather crowded would be an understatement.

Though, that in itself wasn't the most strangest thing, the strangest thing was what happened to the man known as Lightning Bolt Zolt, apparently he had lost his bending. Not like it mattered to Shesh, in fact she had a strange feeling that such events would probably effect her less than anyone else.

So as Shesh sat across from Qishi, as they always did, Pet Show still glaring at them, Shesh had to ask a rather important question.

"So...did this really happen?" Shesh frowned as she put her feet on the table, causing Qishi to grumble slightly under her breath, no doubt the current gang leader was under a rather large amount of stress, mostly due to the rumors of what happened to the Triple Threat Tirades.

Though the word rumor was simply there to soften the impact of something that everyone with half a brain knew, Lightning Bolt Zolt lost his bending, and that was rather creepy.

"Whether or not it's true, doesn't matter, right now the only gang activities we are doing is personal, not as members of the Agni Kai, but simply as gang members. We probably really don't have to worry about a raid here however...even if meetings are held here, it's really not our headquarters." Qishi put her hand over her mouth no doubt thinking about different locations before sighing heavily.

"As much as it pains me to say this, this is probably one of the few times that being second best helped us out," Qishi stated, no doubt bringing attention to the Agni Kai's being the second most powerful gang in the city, though that brought up another interesting thing.

"But wait...now that the Triple Threat Tirade's are pretty much worthless now, aren't the Agni Kai gang top dog?" Shesh asked as Qishi simply shook her head.

"No, just because their leader and a few key members are taken out, doesn't mean the gang is completely finished. They are no doubt hurting due to the raid, but I honestly doubt that their numbers are down and believe me when I say, there are plenty of candidates for the leader role," Qishi stated adjusting her glasses as Shesh nodded.

Thinking about it, Qishi had a point, there were probably hundreds if not thousands of members in the Triple Threat Tirade, even factoring in all those who left due to the fear of losing their bending. Though this also brought up another situation that should no doubt be considered.

"Hey, did you ever figure out who sent this bird after us?" Shesh said as looked over at Pet Show, no doubt the bird hadn't been fed for days, but yet it kept such a hateful look on its face, which was odd since birds usually only had one look.

Qishi crossed her arms, as she gave a small smile before adjusting her glasses, perhaps she actually had a lead, perhaps she was able to untangle the long threads of confusion to lead to a single truth of the culprit!

"No..." Qishi no doubt dashed such hopes in an instant before continuing her statement.

"But...I heard from certain people, that someone has indeed been hiring assassins to take out the gangs in the city, it appears that Pet Show was probably the first of many that this person has hired," Qishi frowned as she rubbed her temple, as said before there were many candidates for the culprit, but with the rise of the Equalists, there was a certain question that entered both of their heads.

"Do you think the Equalists hired them," Shesh asked, it was a good question, as Qishi simply scoffed at the very idea of such a thing.

"You must not have heard Amon's podcast, he is far to into his own morale code to resort to using assassins, plus I wouldn't be surprised if the assassins start to target equalists as well," Qishi stated as she ran her hand through her hair, no doubt the woman wanted to change the subject from such things.

"I assume you already heard that the Avatar is playing in the Pro-bending Tournament, such a shame we missed her debut match," Qishi voice almost sounded regretful, no doubt recalling the match that was missed because they had to take on of the players to the hospital as Shesh gave a rather loud groan.

"Didn't I tell you, I really don't care about pro-bending? Can't you talk about something else other than that?" Shesh put her arms on the table as she placed her head on them, Qishi was tapping her lip no doubt trying to find a more appeasing conversation for Shesh's tastes.

"Hmm, how is your training with Xinzang going?" Qishi decided to bring something up as Shesh perked up.

Despite going to Xinzang to train almost everyday, Shesh never really brought up her training, despite learning quite a bit from the 33 year old lady. Though at the same time, Shesh's training wasn't really something that could be talked about, unless Shesh was willing to talk about the time where she gained a rather large nose bleed she doubted the discussion would be stimulating.

"Fine, but nothing really interesting...what are we going to do today," Shesh groaned, a certain amount of boredom was creeping in, staying at the inn all day would have been rather silly as Qishi sighed before adjusting her glasses.

"Well, there is another Cabbage Corp warehouse that I want to raid, of course it will just be the two of us, since like I said we are cutting back on gang activities..." Qishi stated, though the statement confused Shesh, after all, part of the reason that Qishi was cutting back gang activities was not to be targeted by equalists.

"Why, is there something so important there?" Shesh asked, Qishi while slightly ignorant of others situations and rather greedy wasn't an idiot, she wouldn't do something that put her in harms way needlessly unless it was for something valuable, even Shesh understood that much.

"Well, unlike the warehouse we raided before, this one is in midtown, that means they probably actually care about the things that are in there, and once again. I learned from a rather reliable source, that there are rare radio parts in the warehouse, but not just any radio parts...automobile radio parts!" Qishi seemed rather excited to point that out as Shesh just stared in confusion, what was so important about radio parts and why was it worth raiding an entire warehouse for?

"You seem confused, I know it may be difficult for someone from a backwater place such as yourself to understand the importance of these radios, but I don't explaining it to you as if you were a child," Qishi was once again insulting Shesh intelligence as Qishi started to break down the reasons.

"While the Satomobile is easily the most common automobile, Cabbage Corp made their own model, The Cabbage Car, while this might sound completely useless. Both Future Industries and Cabbage Corp are in a race to make better radios, a-" Shesh simply raised her hand to stop Qishi from going on a rather pointless rant.

"Okay...I get it, it's expensive, we'll just sneak in and steal it..." Shesh said as Qishi sighed, there was really no need to say anything else on the matter, Shesh wasn't really going to listen to any of it in the first place.

"Well, look at it this way, you're going to get about half this time, since we are not doing it under the guise of the gang, we are simply ding it as regular criminals with no connections," Qishi gave a small smile as Shesh eyes narrowed, truth of the matter, it really just sounded like an excuse for Qishi to keep a large portion of the yuans for herself.

"Like I said, as long as I'm not bored I don't really care what we do," Shesh said as Qishi frowned, it seemed Shesh perhaps was the kind of person to do whatever she wished.

"Okay, we leave after the sunset," Qishi said as she sat up from her seat, no doubt going into the back of the room for a moment. Shesh tilted her head, no doubt confused at what Qishi could be doing, of course the confusion vanished when Qishi pulled out what appeared to be a small bag of dried meat.

"What, are you doing?" It was a good question as Qishi shrugged, she walked up to the bird cage that Pet Show was trapped in, and slide a piece of what appeared to be jerky in between the bars of the cage.

"If it died of starvation then there wouldn't have been any point to keep it alive in the first place?" Qishi made a good point, but it seemed rather silly to feed what was a prisoner food, considering said prisoner almost killed both of them rather casually.

Pet Show grumbled, or at least what birds did when they were irritated as it tore off pieces of the jerky as Shesh sighed, she honestly couldn't imagine having a pet, nor did she want to imagine it taking care of one.

"I guess, but still that bird will probably kill us both if given the chance," Shesh looked at Pet Show who was no doubt still glaring at Shesh, eating the food that it was given.

"Well, either way, you really don't have to get dressed for anything this time, like I said I want to keep gang activity on a low so we will just be wearing anything but the Agni Kai colors. Though I would still highly recommend masks,"Qishis said as Shesh tapped her lip no doubt in thought.

Shesh had an odd feeling, in the pit of her stomach, though she had been getting those feelings ever since she arrived at Republic City, the feeling not of fear, but a strangeness. Once again, no doubt about it, it was going to be a rather strange day.

The Speed Machine cruised down the road of downtown Republic city, no doubt they would be leaving the rather poor section shortly, heading into mid town. Qishi was no doubt driving the vehicle as usual as Shesh sat in the passenger seat.

The duo simply decided not to put on their mask, at least not it. Unlike in downtown, the police among other groups had a far larger presence in the area. It would look far more suspicious if someone saw two masked girls going down the road rather than just two girls.

Though, since there was a certain amount of time before the duo would reach their distance, Shesh took the time out to ask something that was on her mind.

"You know, this is the second time we are stealing from Cabbage Corp, isn't there anyone else? You said that there was another company...Future Industries...right?" Shesh crossed her arms as Qishi nodded before turning another corner.

"That is right, however even though they are smaller than Cabbage Corp, their security is many times that of Cabbage Corp, this was due to a certain incident that happened about ten years ago and the owner getting rather paranoid, it's far harder to steal from them and overall there is far less money to make from...liberating goods from them," Qishi adjusted her glasses as they turned another corner, the moon in the sky was cut in half as Shesh thought about it a little longer.

"Meh, whatever, this sort of thing has nothing to do with me, a bunch of politics for a bunch of rich people," Shesh stated, she had enough important people talking around her rather than to her to care about something like that.

"Well, I guess it's only fair, I'm pretty sure the elite of Republic City care little about people in downtown, so it's only natural that people living here care little about them," Qishi said, almost as if she somewhat agreed with the sentiment.

Though in the end, it truly is difficult to care about someone who no doubt have the most expensive clothing and food when someone else has to worry about where they are going to find their next meal.

Qishi decreased the Speed Machine's No. 1 speed as she slowly swung around the back of the Warehouse, it was...unsettling, the structure was two floors high and no doubt made of a mixture of stone and wood, though it was obvious that more work was put in building such a structure than the one that Shesh raided before.

However the most eerie thing about it, there were obviously no guards, not a single person was on site looking at the building, even if Cabbage Corp didn't go out of it's way to hire guards, someone should have been outside if not for maintenance then just to sweep the grounds.

That clearly wasn't the case however, the fact that Qishi was able to park the Satomobile so easily with little resistance, in fact Qishi wasn't even planning on parking in the back of the warehouse in the first place.

"This...is rather odd," Qishi stated as she opened the door, before putting on her mask, that once again never covered the top parts of their heads as Shesh gave a small frown. It seemed all the lights were on, at least all of them on the second floor, as she to put on the jet black mask before jumping out of the Speed Machine, completely unaware of the entire situation.

As the two made careful steps, hugging the wall of the giant building, slowly making their way to the entrance, the lack of staff at the warehouse was odd, but the oddities simply continued when they finally reached the rather large wooden doors only to realized it wasn't locked.

Now this was odd, because even if there wasn't anyone there, despite it being rather early in the night the front door would at least be locked. It didn't make sense that it was simply open for all to see, the fact that it was gave a hint that no doubt someone came before Shesh and Qishi.

"This is rather strange..." Qishi eyes narrowed as she tapped the door it slowly opened, no doubt reveling that it hadn't even been shut properly.

"Yeah, maybe we should peek around," Shesh said putting her foot through the door, after all, this meant that they could just sneak in and take anything they want of course there was a chance that it could be a trap, but at the same time...

"Who would waste time setting a trap for two people?" Shesh thoughts raced, it would be rather silly, first of all out of all the people in Republic city that were in gangs, Shesh doubted that she and Qishi was on top of the hit list even if Qishi was the leader of a gang currently.

As the two opened the door as an endless darkness entered their eyes, no doubt it would be impossible to see. It also appeared that there were no windows on the first floor of the build for whatever reason. Of course such a problem was easily fixed.

Qishi snapped her finger, as a small flame appeared in her left hand, lighting the surrounding area with a warm red light. There were some empty boxes and crates, no doubt they had been moved recently as the two woman looked around the area, at that moment rustling came from an unknown direction as both woman jumped slightly before Shesh grumbled to herself.

"Shit, we are two adults...this kind of garbage shouldn't be scaring us..." Shesh stated before turning to look in the direction of the sound, of course such a thing was hard to do as the duo could only see a few feet in front of them.

Qishi frowned as she and Shesh slowly walked towards the rumbling sound, as they got closer they realized it sounded like someone was trapped in some sort of crate which would be silly...right? Well the closer the duo got the more they realized that such a thought might not be too far from the truth.

The sound of scratching against a wooden crate was heard as both woman looked over the currently shaking crate, no doubt the size was enough to hold a human in as Qishi gulped no doubt she had heard horror stories about such things.

"Maybe, it's one of those living corpses stories you always here about?" Shesh joked as she licked the tips of her fingers, freeze the saliva and preparing to force the top of the crate open as Qishi adjusted her glasses rather nervously as Shesh forced the top off the crate.

"Gahhh!" A voice as a figure jumped out of the crate, of course this caused the appropriate reaction from the two woman.

Shesh covered her mouth, no doubt trying to stifle her scream, the same could not be said for Qishi however as she used her vocal cords rather well, causing Shesh to shoot a glare at the rather tall woman before turning back to the figure.

It wasn't a corpse, the man was obviously breathing as Qishi lit her hand once again, shinning the flame right in his eyes, it was obvious he was some kind of worker at the warehouse, mostly due to his clothing.

It was strange, who would stuff someone into a crate for no reason? Though there was obviously a reason for the act as the man continued to gasp for air.

"What happened?" Shesh asked as the man held his chest, coughing slightly, before finally speaking his voice was a little harsh.

"S-some punks came by, I was working alone and started stealing stuff, they were apparently apart of a gang. They placed me in a crate for over an hour! Though I think most of them are gone by now," The man no doubt had anger in his voice, but the fact that most of them were gone no doubt came as a relief at the same time however, the word most was still a source of concern.

"Do you know what gang they were apart of?" Qishi had to ask as the man simply shook his head.

"No, they just stuffed me in a crate...they probably stole everything that wasn't nailed down, I'm probably going to lose my job for this," The man groaned as Shesh twirled her hair, no doubt getting bored of the conversation.

"Most? There are still others here?" Shesh asked.

"Well...I think, there might be some of them left on the second floor," The man paused for a moment, perhaps he finally realized that he was talking to two random woman in the dark without even knowing who they were.

"Actually, are you two police officers?" It was a good question, no doubt the darkness helped hide Shesh's and Qishi's identity, though it wasn't like either of them were people that could be identified on sight as Qishi made up a rather decent lie.

"Actually, some higher up sent us here to make sure everything is okay, you should probably leave now. We'll sweep the building for anything odd, for now you should get out of here," Qishi said, wearing almost a stone like face, it was obvious she was trying hard not to break character as the man paused for a moment, before taking a deep breath.

"Alright, I'll head to the police station, you two be careful," The man did not have to be told twice as Shesh smiled, no doubt it would make their job easier for loading the things out of the warehouse. Of course that was if there was still things worth stealing.

After the man exited the front, the moonlight guiding him to the exit, Shesh and Qishi looked at each one another again, no doubt realizing they needed to investigate the second floor, if only to figure out what happened.

"If we want to find the stairs, we probably have to find a wall and walk along side it to find them," Shesh said in a rather low voice, though she realized if the people on the second floor didn't hear Qishi scream they probably wouldn't hear her voice.

"Very well," Qishi followed the instruction as she maintained the flame in her hand. The duo walked, avoiding the boxes until they hit a wall, from there they walked along side it. After a few minutes of walking a small stairway was reviled as Shesh and Qishi walked up the steps with little to no hesitation, going into the second floor.

The second floor was no doubt far different than the first, the first thing was the fact that all the lights on. The second was the fact it looked far closer to an office than a warehouse, with hallways and doors. The hallways were made of stone, and a large portion of them lead to doors, and some to windows, no doubt the second floor was used for paper storage than actual items.

"Why would anyone want to go here?" Shesh said in a whisper, at that moment Qishi extinguished her flame before fixing her glasses.

"Probably some papers on something...maybe a deed to an area of the city or perhaps access to Cabbage Corp shipping schedule," Qishi stated.

"Well, I guess something like that would be useful," Shesh said as the duo walked through the halls, pressing their ears against each door, finally after what seemed like an eternity, they finally heard voices from the other side.

Both Shesh and Qishi pressed their ears, remaining silent as the voice spoke to one another.

"Finally, it took us an hour!" No doubt the voice was male, as the voice that responded followed shortly after.

"You got that right, she probably would have killed us if we didn't get them before she came back," The second voice was also male, though that wasn't the interesting thing about them, the interesting thing about them was the fact that both Shesh and Qishi had heard them before.

After a minute of thinking, it seemed both Shesh and Qishi realized who the voices were, they were the two goons they met in the restaurant, of course their names escaped both Shesh and Qishi most likely because they never heard their names, then again, their names probably wouldn't have been worth mentioning.

"Unacceptable," Qishi whispered under her breath, the thought of a rival gang raiding a warehouse before her was simply unacceptable, as Shesh slowly pressed against the door, no doubt she was going to force it open, the only thing she was waiting for was Qishi to give the okay.

The tall woman adjusted her glasses before giving a silent nod, at that very moment Shesh knocked through the wooden door, causing both of the goons to jump, they looked towards the door to see two familiar woman standing before them.

"Y-you two again, what are you two doing here?!" One of the goons snapped as Shesh shrugged, no doubt preparing to give the appropriate reply.

"You know, just looking at warehouses, checking the quality of where to steal goods. You can get big savings from robbing places, but...I think you already know that," Shesh snickered as Qishi spoke.

"Though, usually I wouldn't waste my breath on worthless trash such as yourselves, but I'm interested in what you are doing here? I'm already starting to regret not killing you two back at the restaurant, and depending on my mood I might not be in such a forgiving state tonight," Qishi said that as she pulled four caps from her pocket, no doubt aiming at the goons head.

However, before the two goons could reply Shesh cut them off, making a random guess.

"Oh, no need for that, they probably raided the warehouse with there friends and got left behind to finish some paper work," Shesh said as both the goons eyes twitched,

"Y-you say that now, just wait until you see our new boss," It was obvious that he wasn't suppose to say that as the other goon slapped his head, no doubt wanting him to keep quite about such a thing.

"That's right, these guys are apart of the Triple Threat Tirade, and if the rumors are true then their leader is useless now," Shesh eyes narrowed as Qishi took a step forward no doubt preparing the question the two members even further.

"Tell, me, who's the new leader?" Qishi asked, though it was probably more of a demand as both goons looked at one another, questioning whether or not to tell her, though the goons never got the chance to tell Qishi, as a table in the corner of the room flipped over.

It was a random event, that had no foreshadowing at all, a table was simply flipped as Shesh, Qishi and both goons looked at the place where the walls met, only to see a woman standing there. No doubt she had been hiding under the table the entire time.

To say she looked odd would have been an under statement, she was a woman, probably in her late twenties. She looked like some kind of witch, her hood and black cape covering most of her features, her brown long bangs covering her eyes, making it impossible to see the top half of her face. She had a staff attached to her back as she crossed her legs and lifted her shoulders.

"Tadaaa!" As if she was putting on a play as the two goons looked more confused than anyone else in the room.

"B-boss...how long were you there..." It was a good question no doubt as the woman put her hand over her face before replying.

"Ah, yes, that is a good question, in truth, I've been here since everyone else left..." The woman said that so casually, like she hadn't been waiting for over an hour in a half just to make an appearance, then again if she waited for thirty minutes it would have been an even bigger waste to not wait the entire time.

The goons remained silent, no doubt their boss was confusing them, but the woman then turned her attention to Shesh and Qishi.

"Oh, I never introduced myself, my name is Chángguī, the current leader of the Triple Threat Tirades," Shesh and Qishi frowned, before turning back to the two goons who still had papers in their hands, no doubt the two woman were looking for an explanation.

"Don't look at us, she came into our new hideout and said she was the new leader...when a few of the guys didn't take it so well, she killed them...like dead," One of the goons said as the other one gained a rather deep and sad frown.

"Poor Lee, never stood a chance,"

Changgui gave a small cough as the two goons snapped to attention, no doubt she was going to give them instructions.

"If you found what I wanted, why are you still here? Shouldn't you be leaving now?" Changgui said as the two goons looked towards the door, alas it appeared that both Shesh and Qishi was still standing in front of it.

"Well we would, but they are blocking the exit," One of the interchangeable goons laughed nervelessly as Changgui turned her head towards the single window in the room before speaking.

"Then use the window," Once again, the woman known as Changgui said such a thing as she adjusted her hood, the goons had to point out a fact that everyone in the room already knew.

"But...we're on the second floor an-" Before the goon could speak again Changgui smiled widened slightly, almost to a creepy extent before speaking.

"Hmm, is this back sass I hear?" Changgui asked a question as the two goons shook their head, but alas they were not given a chance to speak as Changgui continued.

"Because, that's what I'm hearing, does Changgui need to decapitate some suckers, because I'm starting to think I haven't done enough sucker decapitating..." The goons dared not say another word as they opened the single window in the room, they both crept out realizing they were going to have to clime down to the bottom floor. After they vanished through the window, if one listened carefully they could hear the sobbing sounds of grown men.

Changgui then turned her attention back to Shesh and Qishi, scanning the two woman up and down, no doubt trying to tell where they are from and why they were there.

"You two...are apart of a gang no doubt, but you aren't wearing any colors, this may sound rude, but could you please tell me what gang you are from? I should at least know that much before I kill you right?" Despite saying something so awful, Changgui remained polite, if a little grating, however despite those words and her smile...

"I don't feel any kindness from this woman at all..." It was kind of strange, but Shesh had a strange feeling that the person in front of her was fun loving, but not in the nice way.

No doubt Qishi was wondering if she should tell her identity to the new leader of the Triple Threat Tirade, after all there was still a certain amount of pride that needed to be held, and being fearful of the woman in front of her would no doubt force her to lose some of that pride.

"I am, Qishi...current leader of the Agni Kai gang," As Qishi stated her title, Shesh couldn't help but feel that might have been a poor decision as Changgui crossed her arms, uncrossing her legs as she slowly moved her left leg in a circle.

It was an odd action to take no doubt, as Changgui started to speak.

"Oh...so it seems Pet Show really did fail, such a shame I spent so much money hiring him to," Changgui tapped her lip as Shesh eye twitched slightly.

"You're the one that sent your shitty pet to kill us?" Shesh eyes narrowed as she lowered her hands, no doubt preparing to bend the blood within them as Changgui paused for a moment, her left leg still moving.

"Well, to be fair, he's not my pet..." No doubt Changgui missed the point entirely, however it appeared the time for talking had came to an end, because without warning, Qishi simply fired a cap towards Changgui head, no doubt attempting to kill her.

What happened next could only be described as odd, with a quick twist of the leg, a small gust of wind surrounded, no doubt appearing less in less than a second. Of course, such a wind knocked the cap off of its course, forcing passing harmlessly by Changgui.

Shesh and Qishi were both speechless, there no doubt had to be some kind of mistake, after all there was no way the person in front of them could have been that type of bender...There was no way that Changgui could have been an Airbender...

"Bah, it doesn't matter who she is," Such a thing was pointless to know as the tips of Shesh's fingers split open, as red rope like liquid left the gashes before twisting and into sharp edges, at that moment the blades were sent towards Changgui who simply increased the speed of her leg, causing the wind that was surrounding her to become almost visible, like a small hurricane.

The blades were swept away, along with a large portion of the stone ceiling, after Changgui stopped spinning her leg, the blood was no doubt sent through the hole in the ceiling, which was currently allowing stars to be seen.

"Hey, don't feel to bad! Even if you sent a boulder ten times my size towards me, I would still be able to sweep it away. The strength of my wind is that of a hurricane, so you two gals not being able to do it isn't a bad thing," Changgui chuckled as she took out her staff and raised it over her head, once again spinning her leg, however this time she was spinning the staff in conjunction, creating a funnel that was far larger than before.

As the wind picked up, both Shesh and Qishi knew instantly that staying in the room meant death, as both woman ran towards the doorway, no doubt narrowing avoiding being swept away.

This of course caused both Shesh and Qishi to dash down the hall, however Shesh had a plan, her fingers were still cut open, allowing her to stain the walls with her blood. After all, if Changgui wished to pursue them, she would have to leave the room she was in.

Shesh skid to a halt, as Qishi stopped as well, though she was obviously more confused at the escape being cut short.

"Shesh, I know you want to show off, but perhaps it is time for us to run, or at least find a better vantage point," Qishi said that, but Shesh knew this would probably be their own chance at taking Changgui out, plus Shesh highly doubted the plan would fail.

"Just trust me, when I give the sign, fire as many caps towards her as possible!" Shesh said that, not giving Qishi enough time to decline, after all, Changgui was walking down the hall towards them, almost casually.

There was nothing foreboding about Changgui's walk, it was almost as if she was simply taking a stroll in the park, nothing that demanded respect just a woman walking down the hall. No doubt it wouldn't have been threatening if said woman didn't just completely destroy a room.

Shesh bit her lip, as Changgui came closer towards the duo, once the Air bender was halfway down the stone hallway, Shesh eye twitched.

"Now!" That was the only thing Qishi needed to hear as she fired five caps towards Changgui, of course this wasn't the only part of the plan.

The blood on the walls of the hall turned to ice, as they were shot towards Changgui, the Air bender sighed, not moving her leg, she instead twisted her hand as once again a gust of wind knocked all projectiles off course leaving Changgui without a scratch.

Shesh eye twitched as Changgui sighed, no doubt annoyed at the entire situation.

"You know, that was a pretty dirty thing to do, I know we're all gang members here, but can't we have a little bit of dignity...though I probably shouldn't be talking," Changgui laughed to herself as she took out her staff once more, however instead of raising it over her head, she simply pointed it towards Shesh and Qishi, once again she slowly made a circle with her left leg rotating it.

It wasn't to hard to tell what the Air bender was going to do, as both Shesh and Qishi quickly scrambled behind the corner. The moment they did, a large gust of wind was sent towards them, no doubt if it was a normal gust it would not have been a big deal. After all, the walls were stone, and in most situation wind wouldn't be able to shatter stone.

Alas, this wasn't most situation, the hurricane like winds drilled through the stone as if it was paper. Neither Shesh or Qishi had time to react as both was swept down the hall by the harsh wind, right through the walls of the second floor, not stopping until there wasn't any walls left for the wind to shatter. No doubt both Shesh and Qishi were completely ejected from the building.

Changgui stopped spinning her staff as she looked at the destruction she caused, no doubt the second floor was completely ruined as Changgui clapped her hands before crossing her legs and saying something only she could hear.

"Taadaaa!"

"Shit that was close..." Shesh breathing was no doubt harsh as she winced, both she and Qishi were hanging on the side of the warehouse, covered in bruises and cuts, their fingers barely griping the sides of the building, despite this, it was obvious that they weren't in the condition to clime down the side of the building.

"T-this is really bad, I barely can see at all..." Qishi winced, no doubt her glasses were blown off as her hand started to slip, no doubt it was either from her blood or fatigue, but before Qishi could fall she felt something wrap around her. No doubt, once again, Shesh made her blood into ropes as she gently lowered Qishi to the ground, Shesh then followed shortly after.

It was obvious that they couldn't stay there, after all there was a large chance that Changgui was still in the area, but Qishi wasn't in a condition to drive, and it wasn't like Shesh could either. That wasn't even taking into account the sheer amount of time going back to the inn would taken and going to the hospital was out of the question.

"Qishi can you still walk?" It was a good question as Shesh staggered to her feet, as Qishi nodded, before Shesh spoke once again.

"We probably need to lay low for awhile...and I have a perfect idea where," Shesh tried to smile, but she then realized that both she and Qishi were going to have to walk...which no doubt sucked, then again their entire night hadn't been too great in the first place.

"Well, Shesh, I guess we should start before the sun rises,"

Author note

I kind of cut some stuff out of this chapter, considering I was pushing 6500 words, it was probably for the best

Also, yes Changgui will be the antagonist for this part of the story, plus the story can actually get started.

I also try to give you the reader a frame of reference for when the events are taking place, so it wouldn't be just sometime during season 1 if that makes sense.
