This was really long, so I split it into two parts. I hope you enjoy the next two chapters. See ya.

It was just a regular old night. Many stars shone in the sky and the moon was almost full. However, this night would turn to tragedy for a certain Gerudo woman. She cleaning up her house when she heard a knock on the door. At first, she thought it was her husband and that he forgot his key. She went to go get the door. When she opened it, it was her best friend.

"Nabooru…"

"Karine, what's wrong?"

"I-It's Ganon… he…"

"What? Karine?"

"He's dead…" Nabooru just stood there, silent. "Th-the Chosen Hero killed him…" Nabooru then started crying. She started shaking her head as well.

"No… No… this can't… no…" She fell to her knees and covered her face with her hands. "I told him… I told him to wait… Why didn't he listen to me…? You bastard! Why didn't you listen to me?!" Her friend, Karine, knelt down in front of her. Nabooru was sobbing, Karine hugged her tight.

"I'm so sorry this happened to you Nabooru. I… I wish I knew what all I could say…"

"I knew that he'd get himself killed if he went after the Hero… I told him to wait… I told him to make a plan… so he didn't get killed… And now… and now he… He'll never get to see his son grow up now…" Nabooru was starting to calm down a little, but she was still shaking and her breathing was still heavy, tears still rolled down her cheeks. "I know… it was part of his fate… and one of them would have to die… but I just… Why did it have to be him…? My husband… He left me here all alone… What's the point of living anymore…?"

"You still have your son, don't you? Your son needs you. I know you, Nabooru. You'd give up on yourself, but you would never give up on what was important to you. You love your son, right?"

"Mmhmm…" Nabooru nodded. Karine let go of her and looked her in the eye, holding her shoulders.

"Then you should raise him. I will always be right there beside you. I have since preschool and I've never left your side yet. 'I promise, I'll never, ever, leave your side, Nabi.' That's the promise I made when we were little girls. You know by now I never break a promise for as long as possible. You're not alone, Nabi. I'm here. I'm still your friend." Nabooru hugged Karine tightly.

"Thank you… Thank you so much…" Karine hugged her back.

"We're sisters, Nabooru. I'll always be right here."

Right then, there was the sound of a baby crying.

"That's Jaaku…" Nabooru started to get up. Karine stayed by her side since Nabooru was still quite shaky. She didn't want her to fall going up the steps. Nabooru got up the stairs and to her son's room. He was only 3 months old. She picked him up and bounced him a few times, trying to calm him down. "What's wrong baby? Are you ok?"

"Should I go get him a new bottle?"

"Yea, and I'll change his diaper." Karine nodded and ran back down stairs. Nabooru set her little baby on the changing table in his room. "I promise, my little Jaaku, I will never give up on you."

~Three years later~

The sound of a screaming toddler broke the silence in the middle of the night. Upon hearing the scream, Nabooru got up and ran to his room.

"Baby, is everything ok?" Her son was sitting up, curled up and covering his ears.

"Mama! I hear scary! He sounds so scary!" Nabooru walked over and sat on his bed. "He says 'kill!' 'Kill!' I don't wanna kill, mama… I don't wanna!" Nabooru pulled him into a hug.

"Shh, it's ok, baby."

"Mama, he keeps saying 'kill the hero.'"

"Kill the hero…" Her eyes widened in realization. "I understand now…" She looked her baby over. "Jaaku, I think your daddy's spirit is within you."

"Why does Dada want me to kill, mama? I don't wanna kill…"

"I know you don't baby… It may be your destiny."

"Don't make me kill, mama… I don't wanna… please don't make me." He was crying a lot, practically sobbing.

"Ganon, please, if you can hear me, you hear what our son wishes. Please don't let him kill anyone. Please don't make him do something he doesn't. This shouldn't even involve him…"

"Nabooru…" She looked up and saw a transparent image of her husband standing in front of her.

"Ganon!" She quickly got up, still holding her son in her arms.

"I won't make him kill. I need him though. I need to hide within him. He shall be my vessel."

"Why do you need to hide within him?"

"Because, I found the Hero. I need to guide him on what to do."

"Ok… Just don't make him kill. He doesn't want to."

"I won't. I shall honor my son's wishes in that. We need to do what's best for him, right?"

"Exactly…" Nabooru looked down at her son who fell asleep suddenly. She looked back up. "Ganondorf Tani, why didn't you listen to me on that day? Why? I told you to wait and formulate a plan before going after the Hero."

"I was in a rush I suppose. I wanted to end it already. I didn't get a scratch on him, but I did kill his wife. She got in the way of my blade. Though, her child lived. I saw her at the store with him recently. I think it's possible we'd be able to use her to get rid of the Hero."

"Oh, so now you've got a plan?" Ganon glared at her. Nabooru set her son down back in bed and covered him up. She then turned around. "I'm all ears."

~3 years later~

Jaaku kept running and hid behind a dumpster in the back of the playground.

"Come out, come out, wherever you are, little buddy." An 11 year old called out. He was a 5th grader at the same school.

"Where do ya think he went, JJ?"

"I don't know, but we're going to find him." The 11 year old looked behind the dumpster and saw Jaaku curled up and hiding his face in his arms. He motioned for the other 11 year old to go around to the other side. Then they both rushed him.

"Ah! Let me go!" Jaaku yelled out.

"Not a chance, little buddy."

"Want to go for a swim? I sure do."

"I don't like swimming…"

"Well too bad. I know a great place." They both carried Jaaku out of the playground and they kept walking until they reached Lake Hylia. "How good's your swimming?" Jaaku didn't say anything, he was too scared. Both the fifth graders smiled and walked up to the pier, walking until they got to the end of it and then threw him off. He had been bullied by those boys before several times, yet he hides it from Nabooru as best as he can. Though, this is the first the bullies ever did this. Jaaku struggled to swim. He didn't know how. The two older boys ran off, leaving him. He started to go under and struggled to get back up.

"S-Someone!" He coughed a few times. "H-help me! I can't swim!" He couldn't quite reach the edge. Someone had heard him though. A hand came and pulled him up. It was a girl.

"Are you ok?" The girl had light blond hair and dark mysterious cobalt eyes. Jaaku was breathing heavily.

"Y-Yea… Th-thank you…"

"It's no problem. My daddy taught me to lend a helping hand to anyone who needs it." Jaaku hugged the girl.

"Thank you for helping me!"

"No need to thank me."

"Jaaku!" Jaaku let the girl go. A boy came running up to them. He had flame red hair and ruby eyes. "Jaaku, are you ok?"

"I'm ok, Runa. Don't worry. This girl saved me." The boy known as Runa turned to the girl.

"Don't call me girl! I don't like being called that! I like being called a boy!" The girl shouted. Runa and Jaaku just looked at eachother. "I better go find daddy. He's probably worried because I ran off. Bye bye." The girl started running off.

"Wait, what's your name?" Jaaku asked.

"It's Link!" The girl said and continued running to find her dad.

"She was pretty." Runa said.

"You thought so too?"

"Yea."

"Weird. Must be our friend telepathically."

"Yea!"

~Four years later~

"Where are you little buddy?" A 15 year old called out. "We just wanna play by the lake with ya. Come on out." Jaaku was hiding in a tree in the playground at his school.

"Any minute now…"

"Didja find him yet?"

"Does it look like I've found him?"

"Not really…"

"Exactly you iggit." Jaaku jumped out of the tree when the two high schoolers were right below it. They both tumbled to the ground.

"You boys better learn to leave me alone. I've learned how to deal with bullies like you. I may be ten, but I can still kick your asses." He pulled one's hair back so his head was off the ground. "You come around and bother me again and I won't hesitate to kill you. Trust me, I will. I never have before, but hell I'm just a child, they wouldn't suspect me. Now get out." He got off them and they took off running. A teacher ran over to Jaaku.

"Young man, just what were you doing?"

"Those boys wanted to bully me, so I bullied them."

"Two wrongs doesn't make a right."

"They were going to drown me in the lake if I didn't show them I mean business."

"How do you know that?"

"You won't believe me so there's no real point in telling you, now is there?" Jaaku started to walk away, but the teacher grabbed his arm. "Let me go." Jaaku didn't even look up.

"You need to go see the principal right now."

"No. I'm not gonna. I don't need to."

"Yes you do. Come on, now."

"What about those high school boys? They wished harm on me and they were on the elementary school property yet you don't send them to the principal?"

"I don't know those boys."

"You don't know me either!" Jaaku pulled away. "Nobody knows me! Nobody knows what I go through! Not you! Not those boys! No body! Leave someone alone when you don't know who they are! That's the best way to survive!" Jaaku ran off. He ran to Lake Hylia and sat at the pier, gazing down at the water.

"Jaaku?" Jaaku looked up to see his friend, Runa.

"Fuck off."

"I'm not going to do that." Runa sat down next to him.

"What are you doing here, Rune?"

"Heh, calling me Rune, it's been awhile since you've called me that."

"Whatever. I asked you a question."

"A better question is, what are you doing here?"

"I asked you first."

"I asked you first."

"Oh that's really mature, saying exactly what I say."

"Oh that's really mature saying exactly what I say."

"I'm an idiot."

"You're an idiot." Jaaku started laughing. "See, I can make you laugh every time."

"Hehe, but seriously, what are you doing here?"

"I saw you run off so I came to follow you. I'm a shadow, remember?"

"I suppose."

"What happened back there?"

"Those boys who constantly bully me were going to try and drown me in the lake again. So I stood up to them, but apparently that's a no no because I got in trouble."

"That's always how it works, you know that."

"What was I supposed to do, let them drown me?"

"No. I guess not. You did send them running though and they're much bigger than you."

"Yea… I felt like a complete badass!" Runa smiled.

"I'm glad."

"So, any word from your dad?"

"Not really. He'll come back and get me and Xana. I'm sure of it."

"How do you know?"

"My dad would not abandon me."

"Dads can do things you never would expect…" Despite Runa and Jaaku being best friends, Jaaku never told him of the voices inside his head.

"I'm telling you, my dad won't abandon us. He wouldn't…"

"I'm not saying that he will, but keep in mind, Runa, dads can do things you would never expect. I'm not saying your dad will abandon you, but you never know. You may know them, but then again, just because you live with someone, doesn't mean you know them."

"I suppose you're right… If I do end up moving, will we still be friends?"

"Sure. Just don't forget ok?"

"I won't. We're like brothers, aren't we, ever since Kindergarten." Jaaku smiled at the memory.
