World 2 - The Adverse of Them: The second world that the Inu-gang find themselves in, wouldn't prepare them for what they hear. What has happened to the Kagome they usually know, this world's version of the miko is certainly different. What has happened to this world's Inuyasha. What about the rest of the group?

Disclaimer: I do NOT own inuyasha!

The Confusion

A lone woman walked down the path to a village, bow in hand and a stern look on her face. She gripped on her bow when a flash of light was seen in her peripheral line of view. Her long black hair, that reached to her a few inches above knees, whisked around as she turned on her heel and her brows narrowed at the sight.

"Miko-sama!" a young teen cried out and ran to her. The woman shifted her gaze over to the young girl and her face softened. "What is going on?" the minor had asked the priestess. The adolescent's face was contorted in confusion and fear.

"I will check it out. You must return to the village at once," the miko commanded her. "If it gets worse, you must lead the villagers away from here, understood."

The young teen took a step back and looked at the priestess in disbelief before returning to her prior posture,"Yes." The miko watched the girl run off and she moved her feet to where the light had appeared and disappeared.

"How peculiar." The she began to walk toward it, curiosity got the best of her.

"Ah! Kagome!" Shippo shouted once the light had engulfed them and he held onto her arm, clutching tightly to her white shirt. Kagome looked at the young kit and smiled at him. "Don't worry Shippo."

Inuyasha looked at the two in the corner of his eye, the light around them - the blue swirls - were starting to disappear and something was appearing after it. He quickly placed an arm around Kagome, afraid that they'll be separated once the swirls completely died down.

Sango tensed when she noticed Miroku do the same, unfortunately, he had to touch her backside. The taijiya clenched a fist and it shook wildly,"Miroku…" she seethed.

"Dear Sango, I wouldn't like it if we were separated," Miroku informed her, his hand moved from her rear to her arm. Then, wrapping his arm around her shoulder and pulling her to him,"There."

The light died down and the group looked around.

Luckily for them, it wasn't like the last world when they had fallen out from the sky and fell. Kagome sighed in relief and blinked in surprise. "Are we in the Feudal Era?" she questioned out loud.

Inuyasha smelt the air,"It is and it isn't. Something has changed, it must be a few years at the most." His eyes widened in the familiarity of where they stood. They were standing in the clearing where the Bone Eater's Well was located.

The hanyō turned his head over to look behind him, and there it was, the well.

Kagome gasped at the sight and her feet shuffled to the well and once she reached it, she placed the palms of her hands on the wooden ledge. "It's different," she whispered, moving her hand across the smooth surface, some roots were attached on it and when she looked down, it was the same as it ever was.

Sango observed the area and turned her head to the side,"Do you think Kaede's village is near by. If this is truly the future, it must still be here. Unless it was attacked."

Shippo cowered behind Miroku's shoulder and shook,"D-Don't say that Sango."

The taijiya gave the kit a melancholy look,"Sorry, I was just thinking." Shippo spun his head to the side,"Then you should think about it in your head," he was terrified at the words she had said.

"Let's go check it out," Inuyasha began to walk ahead of everyone else. He folded his arms across his chest, I don't like this at all.

Kagome glanced at the well then at the retreating hanyō,"Right." She then began to follow him and everyone else followed suit.

When arriving at the village they had come to know, everything was different, there were new faces and the huts were a bit bigger than usual. Unlike their time, more people roamed around and to top it all off, there were demons and humans coexisting with each other.

"Ah, welcome travelers, are you far from your home," a man who must have been the headman, walked up to the group with a smile on his face.

Miroku nodded,"Indeed we are," he bowed to the elder man.

The headman gave the monk a curt nod,"I certainly hope you don't mind your stay here, we have changed over the five years since the great battle between our village priestess with her friends against the evil half demon that wanted to kill us all."

Sango stepped forwards and smiled at the headman,"No we don't mind at all. It is surprising, I've never seen a village that let's demons and half demons stay. I do like the change."

"The miko that protects the village showed us that all demons aren't evil, we corrected our ways and fought along aside them. We are more than happy to have let them stay," the headman informed them.

Inuyasha lowered his head, it was everything he ever wanted, a village to accept demons, half demons - like him - and to have a home. If he were to ever see the miko that protected them, he'd thank her.

Suddenly, the ground shook and the commotion in the village stopped. "What was that?" Sango questioned them.

The headman raised his hand,"Need not to be afraid, tis just our miko fighting a youkai. It must be a strong one if it could rattle the earth. We have heard that there are a few youkai trying to harm this village, angered that we let their species stay and the demons do not like their kind with humans."

The ground shook once more and Inuyasha readied for battle,"Well you aren't going to like it if that youkai comes any closer. It's getting closer."

Before the headman could let say a word, a demon shot out from the ground and roared in fury.

Demons ushered the humans to stay back and flexed their claws. But, there was no need when in a brilliant flash of light, destroyed the demon seconds after it arrived.

The Inu-gang watched the people smile in praise and a figure hand gracefully landed in front of them.

"It's her," the headman informed them and made his way to the miko who had destroyed the demon. "Thank you miko-sama."

The miko smiled at the headman,"No need to thank me Tomoya-san."

Kagome placed a hand on Inuyasha's shoulder and smiled at him. He looked down at the ground, he didn't want to meet her eyes, he would've smile if he did.

"We have villagers from another village miko-sama," the headman known as Tomoya, said to the priestess who noticed the travelers.

"I see," she said, looking at each of them. Miroku smiled at her, the miko was a beauty, but he felt pressure on his shoulder when Sango had sneakily punched him to divert his attention.

Her eyes fell onto Kagome and she gave her a curt nod. Kagome opened her mouth to speak, but she settled on smiling at the priestess.

Lastly, the miko's eyes gazed at Inuyasha, they widened at the sight of him. His white hair, gold eyes made her face pale and her throat clench, making it unbearable to breath.

She raised her bow, that was in her hand and pointed at him. The group tensed and positioned themselves ready to fight.

"This must be a trick," the miko said, stepping to him.

Tomoya gazed to and from his village miko to the hanyō,"What is a trick Miko-sama."

The miko gasped in horror and she lowered her bow when she saw his face. "No it can't be." She muttered. Unknown to the group, when they were going to stand near Inuyasha, they couldn't move from their positions.

"She placed a barrier on us," Miroku told them, raising his staff to hit it, but it was no prevail, it didn't break down.

Kagome's eyes widened when she saw the miko walking closer to Inuyasha, She's going to hurt him! She raised her hand and brought it down, shouting the hanyō's name.

Inuyasha couldn't hear her voice the first time he heard Kagome shout it, it was as if he were entranced. "How," he heard the miko walking to him say, she placed her hand on his cheek.

"Inuyasha!" Kagome could see clearly who the miko was, it had to be her. It had to be Kikyo. Of course it was her, her long black hair and eyes showed that it was.

Dog ears flicked when he heard her call his name, but it was muffled. The miko retracted her hand and placed it over her mouth that was ajar.

Kagome hit the barrier they were encased in and it finally collapsed. She fell on her knees from the loss of spiritual energy she had used. Sango and Miroku had helped her up and Shippo question if she were alright, but her focus remained on the two that stood only feet away.

"How could it be," the miko that still had her weapon in hand, starring at the hanyō before her, in utter shock. "But…you're dead." The miko's eyes rolled back and she fell backwards. Inuyasha shot his arm to catch her and held her to him. He noticed his miko companion lower her head.

The villagers gasped in terror and ran to the miko's side who was still in the arms of the hanyō,"Kagome-sama!"

At the sound of the woman's name, a little girl stumbled to her direction,"Mother!"

Inuyasha watched the girl, with tears in her eyes and her white hair trailing behind her. Dog ears were perched on the top of her head and she fell to her knees to look over at her mother. What's going on here!
