Chapter 9
The events of this chapter correspond to the episode "T.M.I"
Reese was in her room, trying to read a book, but also trying to tune out the sounds of yelling and crashing metal coming from the main room of the base. Miko and Bulkhead were watching a monster truck rally… again, and they were getting a bit carried away. The others were away on a recon mission trying to find some kind of data cylinder. She would have gone with them, but Optimus was worried that there would be too much of a chance that they would run into cons. So instead, she had curled up with a good book, and had been enjoying it until Miko and Bulkhead decided to watch their monster truck rally show.
Finally, she had had enough and decided it was a futile effort to try and concentrate with all the noise that Miko and Bulkhead were making. She closed her book, hopped off her bed, and stalked out of her room; she was going to give them a piece of her mind.
"Could you guy's please lower the volume? Some people are trying to read!" The annoyance in her voice was unmistakable.
"You're just as bad as Ratchet," Miko retorted. "He just told us to do the same thing. Honestly, I think he is rubbing off on you." Miko's voice held an air of sassiness and a hint of a challenge. Once you got her started, she could argue all day if you gave her the chance.
"Miko, I don't want to argue; I just want to you lower the volume. Ratchet, back me up here won't you?" Reese turned to Ratchet expecting back up, but instead all she got was, "Ep, Ep, I would rather not get involved in an argument with Miko, thank you very much."
"Sheesh, you're no help," Reese glared up at the big medic, who was choosing to ignore her last statement.
"Bulkhead, you really should be out helping Optimus bring back the data cylinder," Ratchet said to the green Wrecker.
"Oh, he doesn't need my help to search for some ancient, educational, thingamabob," was all that Ratchet got out of Bulkhead before the Wrecker turned back to the monster truck rally he was watching.
"That 'thingamabob' as you call it, happens to be a Cybertronian data cylinder." Ratchet cut off the monster truck rally to display an image of the data cylinder on the TV that Miko and Bulkhead were watching. This instantly heightened Bulkhead and Miko's irritation even more. "These data cylinders were created during the Golden Age on Cybertron. They contain vast amounts of untold knowledge ranging from stellar cartography, medicine, and ancient mythology. Who knows what this one that we are looking for could contain?" Ratchet was much more excited about the possibilities than Miko or Bulkhead, though. They had already started to tune him out.
"Well, if these data cylinders contain so much vast knowledge, why would there be one here? Wouldn't they have been hidden somewhere safe on Cybertron?" Reese asked, thoroughly interested.
"Nerd Alert," Miko said in her most sarcastic voice. Reese chose to ignore the comment.
"That is a valid question, Reese. When the war broke out, the cylinders were hidden throughout the galaxy in hopes of keeping them out of decepticon hands. But, detecting one's signal here on earth, well, it's the opportunity of a life time!" Ratchet's excitement was contagious, but only to Reese it seemed. Miko and Bulkhead looked bored as ever.
"Ugh, TMI dude!" Miko complained, cutting Ratchet off from saying anything more about the data cylinders. Before Ratchet could retort, a call from Optimus came in over the comm. link.
"Ratchet, there has been a decepticon ambush! The cylinder is at risk; we require backup!" Optimus said over the comm. link. That got Bulkhead and Miko's attention.
"Back up is what I'm built for," Bulkhead said as he got up from where he had been resting, watching his show. He quickly ran through the ground bridge to join in battle with his comrades.
Once Bulkhead had made it successfully through the ground bridge, Ratchet turned to Miko and said "and I have an important mission for you." Miko was ecstatic until she found it that said mission was mopping the floor of the base. Once she had been handed her mop, Ratchet turned back to the consol to monitor's the team's progress and Reese went back to studying the schematics for the data cylinders that Ratchet had left up on the TV. That is when Miko took her chance. She dropped the mop and ran through the ground bridge without either Ratchet or Reese noticing.
A few minutes later, a call came in from Miko.
"Miko? This is an emergency channel; we need to keep it open for the oth-" Ratchet stopped mid-sentence as he heard battle sounds coming from the background.
"Oh scrap!" Reese muttered under her breath.
"Miko, where are you?" Ratchet said even though he was pretty sure he already knew the answer.
"Duh, I'm with the thingamabob! Can you bridge it back?" Miko sounded desperate.
"I will reopen arrival coordinates!" Ratchet quickly reentered the coordinates and opened the ground bridge, but the exasperated sound coming from Miko's end let them know that it wasn't close enough. The only problem was that Ratchet didn't have exact coordinates to send it closer with. The line went dead for a few minutes, but then Optimus called for a ground bridge back to base.
The autobots filed back into the base with Miko riding on Bulkhead's shoulder plating.
"Ratchet, I think you should run a diagnostic of Bulkhead's neural processor. While we were out in battle, the data cylinder fired some kind of beam at Bulkhead's helm. Unfortunately, we were unable to retrieve the data cylinder and the decepticons are now in possession of it. I am going to take Arcee and Bumblebee with me to try and re-locate it." With that, Optimus reactivated the ground bridge and went through it with Bee and Arcee. Ratchet pulled Bulkhead over to the medical bay and strapped him up to the neural network scanner.
"C'mon Doc, I helped lose that thing, I should be out there helping Optimus find it again!" Bulkhead complained, unhooking himself from the scanner when Ratchet wasn't looking.
"Ep, Ep, you are under my command now, Optimus' orders, and running a full diagnostic of your neural net would be a better use of your time," Ratchet said as he monitored the progress of the scan. He gave an exasperated sigh and turned back to Bulkhead when he saw that the scan had been interrupted by the wrecker unhooking the scanning equipment.
"Doc, we both know there isn't anything up there for you to scan! I feel fine." Bulkhead stood up from the medical berth and finished unhooking himself from the rest of the diagnostic equipment.
"Well, in that case, why don't you make yourself useful by helping Miko tidy up?" Ratchet handed a mop to Bulkhead and turned back to the computer. He did not have the patience to deal with Bulkhead's stubbornness.
"UGH, he's mad with power!" Miko groaned as she turned away from the annoyed medic bot. She and Bulkhead left the medical bay but it would be a miracle if they actually got any tidying up done. Bulkhead was better at making messes than he was at cleaning them up.
Once the unruly pair had left the medical bay to 'clean up', Reese walked in.
"Don't take 'em seriously Ratchet. It's best if you don't let them get under your skin… er… metal exterior… er… forget it. The phrase doesn't work as well with robots."
"Trust me, I have dealt with Bulkhead long enough to know how to work around his stubborn attitude. But, speaking of 'getting under the skin' it's probably about time I ran a diagnostic on you." Ratchet turned from his computer consol and looked down at Reese.
"What? Run a diagnostic on me? Why?" Reese looked up at the medic skeptically. "Do you think that there could be something wrong with me? I mean, I feel fine." She said defensively.
"Well, since you are techno-organic, it is important to have the cybertronian half of you monitored. It is like when you go to a human doctor for a routine 'check up'." As he said this, he picked her up and placed her on top of the computer consol. Before she could protest, He opened up his scanner and began scanning her. Annoyed that she had just been roped into a 'check up' that she had not anticipated, she crossed her arms and glared at the medic bot.
"Find anything?" She asked after Ratchet finished the scan.
"Actually, I have. It seems that the while you still appear to be completely organic from the outside, on the inside you have become almost completely cybertronian. It appears that the CNA, that was reactivated within you, has been slowly cyber-forming you from the inside. You appear to almost be more cybertronian than you are human." Ratchet pulled up a visual display of the scan. Sure enough, everything on the inside appeared to be made of the same kind of living metal that the autobots were made of.
"But, but I don't feel any different! When will this 'cyber-forming' stop? Will it continue until I am completely cybertronian?" Reese was starting to freak out.
"I wouldn't expect you to feel any different. The cyber-forming process is slow and probably wouldn't produce symptoms. It is doubtful that it will continue much farther than it has; your organic DNA is keeping it from completely cyber-forming your whole body. It does appear that you have a T-cog now, so it could be possible that you could have a cybertronian alt form, but it's still too soon to tell. I say we should probably run weekly diagnostics to monitor the progress of the cyber-forming process." Ratchet seemed to be fascinated by this new discovery while Reese was having a mini panic attack inside. She knew she was part cybertronian, but she didn't realize that the CNA within her would begin physically transforming her as it had. But before she could freak out about it too much, Miko ran into the med bay looking confused and slightly worried.
"Ratchet, I think you should take a look at what Bulkhead is painting in here," Miko said as she motioned for Ratchet to follow her.
"Yes, I'm sure one hasn't truly lived until one has beheld Bulkhead's take on still life with lug nuts," Ratchet scoffed. Reese jumped down and followed too; the three of them went into the main room where bulkhead was painting some sort of formula on the wall of the base. When Ratchet saw the formula, his tone instantly changed from that of uninterested to extremely serious. "That's not art, that's science!" He exclaimed as he surveyed the formula. Immediately he dragged Bulkhead back over to the med bay and hooked him back up to the neural net scanner. He also called Optimus and the rest of the team back to base.
Upon surveying the incoming image of Bulkhead's neural net, one could see that there was a hotspot of information growing within Bulkhead's processor.
"Based on what we witnessed during our earlier skirmish with the decepticons, the living data from the data cylinder must have been programmed to eject when it sensed unauthorized access," Optimus mused.
"A security measure," Ratchet was starting to catch on.
Optimus continued, "It would have jettisoned heavenward, lost to the stars, if Bulkhead had not been in the way."
"But every decepticon there made a grab for it, why did it only go off when Miko touched it?" Arcee brought up the question that was on everybody's mind.
"The data cylinders were made during the golden era of Cybertron, long before the war with the decepticons. It data would not consider any Cybertronian to be a threat. Only aliens, such as humans, would cause the security safety measure to go off." Both Optimus and Ratchet were doing the explaining at this point. They were the ones who knew the most about the data cylinders to begin with.
Arcee then asked the other question that was circling through the minds and processors of the rest of the group, "So, what exactly are we looking at here?" She motioned to the painting on the wall.
"Well, I don't want to get anybot's hopes up, but these equations appear to be part of a formula for a form of synthetic energon," Ratchet said as he looked from the formula on the wall to his computer console.
Despite Ratchet's previous warning, the rest of the group instantly became excited.
"Miko, do you know what this means? Energon provides our fuel, our ammo, our life force, and with the natural stuff in such short supply, this could solve a whole lot of problems!" Bulkhead's explained excitedly to the confused human. The others also theorized that synthetic energon could give them the edge they need to win the war and also possibly revive Cybertron.
With this new found knowedge about the synthetic energon, Bulkhead was set to work painting the equation that was in his processor onto pieces of sheet metal. While the others were eagerly awaiting each new part of the formula, Miko was becoming very impatient. She wanted to play with Bulkhead, not watch him spit out some formula that she didn't understand.
Reese, on the other hand, was content to just sit there, watch, and absorb all of the new information. Since she was part Cybertronian, after all, she wanted to learn as much about their science and history as possible. After a few minutes, she got up and walked over to where Ratchet was transcribing the formula into the computer. She happened to walk over just in time to hear Ratchet mention something about the data actively and aggressively rewriting Bulkhead's neural net. She gasped and covered her mouth in shock. If Miko was to find out about this, she would freak out. Knowing Miko, she would probably try some crazy scheme to stop the process.
"You have to find a way to stop the data from completely destroying Bulkhead!" Reese blurted out to Optimus and Ratchet.
"But if we do that, then we can say goodbye to synthetic energon," Arcee countered. The whole situation had taken a bad turn, and it appeared that there was no way that any solution would be a complete win. Either they would obtain the formula and lose Bulkhead, or they would lose the formula and Bulkhead would be saved.
"Wait, what if we were able to transmit the data back into the data cylinder it came from?" Reese threw out the idea as it popped into her head.
"That could work," Ratchet mused. "But, we don't even have the data cylinder to transmit it back into."
"Leave that to me, Old Friend. I will convince Megatron to give us back the data cylinder." Optimus then began working on a decoy of the energy signature that the living data produced. He would use said decoy signal to lure Megatron out and convince the evil tyrant to give back the cylinder.
Time went by and Optimus finally finished the decoy. Just as he left, though, Miko came running up to Ratchet; she was almost in tears. She just figured out that Bulkhead was losing his memories due to the data inside of his processor. Reese stepped up and put an arm around the distraught girl's shoulders.
"We didn't want to worry you, but we can promise you that Optimus has a plan; you just have to be patient." Reese pulled Miko into a hug as tears welled up in the girl's eyes. "Hey, hey, it's going to be okay." Reese tried to soothe the Miko, but she did not want to be consoled. She would rather be doing something productive to help Bulkhead. She pulled away from Reese and ran back into the main room where Bulkhead was.
Knowing Miko was probably going to do something rash, Reese chased her into the main room. When she got there, she saw Miko at the computer plugging in coordinates for the ground bridge.
"Miko, what do you think you are doing?" Reese ran up grabbed the girl's shoulder. "We don't have time or resources for any rash decisions."
"I'm gonna help Bulkhead get his memory back and there is nothing you can do to stop me," Miko almost spat the words as she glared at Reese, "So don't even try!" Miko remotely activated the ground bridge from the computer and pushed Reese aside. "The others may not be concerned that we could lose Bulkhead forever, but I am, and I think I know just the way to jog his memory." Miko grabbed the mop that Bulkhead was using as a paint brush and lured the big green bot through the ground bridge.
"Scrap!" Reese outwardly groaned as she saw what was taking place. Miko was in a blind panic and wouldn't listen to reason. "I'm going to regret this; I just know it," Reese muttered to herself as she turned on her energon cloaking device and ran through the groundbridge just as it was closing. She came out on the other side to see Miko pleading with Bulkhead, who had resumed painting on the walls of a monster truck arena. Apparently, Miko thought that if she tried to remind Bulkhead about what he loved most, monster trucks, that it would be enough to stop the data from consuming his mind. Reese ran over to Miko, who was beginning to tear up again. Miko wrapped her arms around the Bot's huge peddes and began to cry, but her pity party was interrupted when a ground bridge opened and two decepticons stepped through it.
"Double scrap! Miko, we gotta run… NOW!" Reese grabbed Miko's arm and started pulling her away, but the girl wouldn't leave Bulkhead's side. Reese needed an idea fast, but Miko beat her too it. The girl may have been distraught, but she could still think on her feet.
"Bulkhead, Follow me right now or those creeps are going to steal the formula!" She yelled at the wrecker. This instantly got Bulkhead's attention. There was no way that he was going to let the formula be taken by the decepticons. The three of them booked it towards the parking lot where all the monster trucks were kept. Bulkhead transformed into his vehicle mode in order to stay hidden among the other trucks. Both Reese and Miko pulled out their phones and tried to call base. When both phones came back with static, the two girls looked at each other with worry and dismay.
"Those stupid cons are jamming all calling frequencies. We will have to get out of their jamming range before we can contact base for backup." Reese said as she instantly took charge of the situation.
Aside from Bulkhead, who was clearly incapable of helping them at the moment, she was the oldest and most responsible one there. It would be on her hands if anything happened to Miko, so she was going to do everything in her power to keep the both Miko and Bulkhead safe. "Miko, try and get to the perimeter of the parking lot. Hide behind and under vehicles as you go. I will try to distract those creeps long enough for you to get out of their jamming range."
"What about you and Bulk? What will happen to you?" Miko asked; her voice was laced with worry.
"Look, I can hold my own. I will distract them and lead them away from you and Bulkhead, but I won't be able to hold them off for long. That is why it is imperative that you can get far enough away to contact base. Got it?" Reese stared at the girl, hoping she was making any sense. Miko hesitated for a moment before nodding, a look of determination coming over her face. In an instant, the girl was running towards the perimeter as fast as she could, making sure to stay hidden underneath the monster trucks as she went.
With a sigh of relief, Reese turned to her task. It was going to be much more difficult and more dangerous than the one she gave to Miko, but it was what had to be done. She said a quick prayer asking for God's protection and then ran out from between two monster trucks, right in front of the decepticons.
"Well, well, well, what have we here? It's a human bug trying to save her friend; It's a pity that your efforts will all be in vain," The bigger of the two said as his hand transformed into a giant hammer. He seemed to be the brute of the two and he only had one optic. "Why don't you lead us to Bulkhead and we might consider letting you live."
"Never, you one-eyed creep!" Reese yelled as she ran past the two cons. She knew she had the attention of the big con, but now she needed to also get the other con's attention. In the spur of the moment, she ran up and kicked the red and white con's pede, her cybernetic leg chipping the paint and leaving a sizable dent in his fancy armour plating. The con gasped in rage as he bent down to inspect the damage.
"Why you little, you are going to regret that big time, little missy!" Both cons instantly began chasing Reese through the maze of cars. She ran as fast as she could, leading them away from where Bulkhead was parked. She ducked and dodged between several trucks before finally running underneath one of them and climbing up into its undercarriage. From her vantage point underneath the monster truck, she could see the pedes of the cons stop just in front of her. She held her breath, hoping and praying that they had not noticed which truck she had climbed underneath. Then, after a few tense moments, she saw the pedes begin to move away.
"Come on Breakdown, we don't have time to chase after humans. We have a job to do, and Megatron will have our heads if we don't come back with the data," said one of the cons. Reese assumed it was Mr. Flashy Paint Job because the voice didn't sound like Mr. One Eye.
"I hear you Knock Out, but how exactly are we supposed to get the data if we don't have the data cylinder on us?" This time the voice came from Mr. One Eye.
"I suppose we will just have to take whatever the data is being stored in now. We will have to take the head of Bulkhead," Mr. Flashy Paint Job said with a maniacal laugh. Then, Reese heard a beeping sound come the tracking device that Knock Out had just pulled out. "Games are only fun when you're winning," She heard the con say as he started walked closer to where Bulkhead was hiding.
"Oh scrap," Reese's heart dropped as she ran out from under the truck just in time to see Bulkhead transform right in front of Knock Out. She cringed as she saw Bulkhead take his paint covered mop and start to paint the formula right over Knock Out's paint job. Knock Out looked in shock from his paint job to Bulkhead and back to his paint job. Then, just as Knock Out was about to take Bulkhead down, Breakdown came in and side slammed Bulkhead with his hammer.
Reese gasped as Bulkhead crumpled to the ground. She ran as quickly as she could over to the fallen wrecker. Miko, who came running when she heard all of the commotion, gasped as well when she saw her beloved autobot guardian unconscious on the ground. She screamed in anger and terror as she saw Knock Out's hand transform into a saw blade and begin inching its way towards Bulkhead's neck cables. She grabbed a crowbar and began running at Knock Out as fast as she could. Unfortunately, she missed and fell into Bulkhead, causing the data to once again eject itself from the container it was within. Bright red beams shot upwards, into the sky, from Bulkhead's eyes, making the decepticons step back. This gave a chance for Reese to catch up to Miko.
Knock Out scanned Bulkhead's head but the scan came back showing that all of the data was now gone.
"Megatron is going to peel our paint, so now were going to have to peel yours!" Knock Out growled as he pointed his saw blade at Miko. Reese jumped in between Miko and Knock Out yelling, "You will have to go through me first!" Then, she climbed up on Bulkhead, and from there, jumped onto Knock Out's arm. She quickly steadied herself before letting all her fury loose on Knock Out's paint; her cybernetic hands left deep scratches in the paint and metal of the door on Knock Out's arm. He let out a yelp and stumbled backwards. Shaking his arm furiously back and forth he yelled, "Get it off, get it off, it's ruining my paint job!" This only made Reese hold on even tighter. Breakdown activated his hammer and prepared to swing it at Reese but a shriek from Knock Out stopped him. "Don't do that you idiot! You would probably miss and take my whole arm off!"
Knock out was still furiously shaking his arm when a ground bridge opened and the autobots ran through. Reese looked up in surprise, loosening her grip enough for Knock Out to shake her free. She landed hard on the pavement, while Knock Out and Breakdown quickly retreated.
The autobots came over to find Bulkhead unconscious on the ground, Miko holding onto him and crying, and Reese picking herself up off the pavement where she had just been thrown. Carefully, Optimus, Bumblebee, and Arcee picked up and carried Bulkhead through the ground bridge. Reese followed behind with Miko.
Once back at base Ratchet began running a full range diagnostic on Bulkhead's neural net, but the scans only showed that the data was gone and that Bulkhead was still unresponsive. Miko let out a long sigh.
"That's because when the data ejected, it took Bulkhead's mind with it, heavenward, lost to the stars. It's my fault that you will never be able to complete the formula." Tears welled up in the girl's eyes again. The others tried to comfort her, but nothing they said helped.
"Miko, we don't know that Bulkhead is completely gone; it's just too early to tell the extent of his condition. Something as simple as a familiar sight or smell, perhaps even a sound, could trigger Bulkhead's awakening." Ratchet tried to give the girl some glimmer of hope. After a moment of thinking about what Ratchet had said, Miko stood up from where she had been sitting. Everybody watched as she walked over and plugged her electric guitar into the amplifier. She closed her eyes and began to play the beginning of Bulkhead's favorite song. Everybody turned to look at Bulkhead. Nothing happened at first, and the other were about to give up hope, when suddenly, brainwave activity came up on the scanner. Bulkhead opened his eyes and sat up and began playing air guitar saying, "That's my favorite song!" He then looked up and saw Miko standing on the platform in front of him with her guitar in hand and tears of joy in her eyes. He was back, memories and all.
Later that evening, after the children had gone home, Reese came up to Ratchet in the med bay.
"Hey Ratchet, do you think you could take a look at this?" She pointed to her arm, where a large part of the cybernetic coating had been stripped away. Energon was leaking from the wound and a layer of living metal that had been underneath the cybernetic coating was exposed.
"For Primus' sake, why didn't you tell me about this earlier?!" Ratchet exclaimed when he saw the damage.
"Everybody was so preoccupied with Bulkhead; I didn't want to be an extra burden." Reese looked down at the wound and winced in pain.
"Reese, you are never a burden! I only wish you would have told me sooner about the injury. Now, let's take a look at this wound, why don't we?" Ratchet gently picked up Reese and set her beside the console of his computer. "I really should work on a specially made medical berth, just in case you were ever severely injured," Ratchet said as he examined the wound.
After a few minutes he pulled out a piece of metal and cut it to the size of the wound. "In order to stop the energon leak, I will need to solder on a new piece of metal. It will hurt a bit so I will need you to be strong," He said and he looked to see how Reese would respond.
"Okay, but what is that layer of metal underneath? I thought that there was only skin underneath the cybernetic coating." Reese examined the exposed metal of the wound again.
"Originally, there had been. It appears that everywhere the cybernetic enhancements were attached, your body repaired itself with living metal rather than flesh. It is all due to the Cybertronian half of you," Ratchet explained. "Now hold still, this is going to hurt a little bit."
Reese let out a sharp gasp as Ratchet began soldering the new piece of metal over the wound. When he was done, he buffed the edges and then stepped back to let Reese examine his handiwork. "I'm sorry, I know that was painful. You are very strong, though, and you will mend quickly." Ratchet smiled down at Reese.
While Reese was still sitting in the med bay, recovering from where Ratchet had mended her wound, Optimus came in to talk to Ratchet. He stopped when he saw Reese sitting there, holding her arm.
"Reese, were you injured while you were with Miko and Bulkhead?" He looked at her questioningly and with concern in his optics.
"Just a scrape, nothing that Ratchet couldn't fix," She said, smiling up at the autobot leader. She tried to shift to a different position but the movement only aggravated the newly repaired wound. She winced and held her hand tightly on over the wound. There was pain in Optimus' eyes, but still, he knelt down and took a look at Ratchet's work on her arm.
"Ratchet did a good job fixing you up. Reese, I never wished for you to be harmed any further by the decpeticons. But, you were valiant and stood your ground. It pains me to see you injured, but you are strong, and I am starting to see that there is more to you than first meets the eye. I still do not wish that you would be put in harm's way anymore, but I also know that, if necessary, you are capable of fighting and protecting yourself and others. What Miko did was rash, but I am glad to see that she was not alone, and that you were able to keep her and Bulkhead safe. I do ask, though, Why didn't you come to us sooner with your injury?"
"I… I didn't want to be a burden to the rest of you. Bulkhead was in much worse condition and needed all of the attention he could get. I knew that I would only be getting in the way." Reese looked up into Optimus's optics, but quickly looked away. She still found it difficult to hold eye contact with the autobot leader.
"Reese, you never are, nor ever will be, a burden. You are just as much a part of the team as Bulkhead and the others. Please, do not be afraid to come to any of us for help. Do you understand?" Reese gently nodded her head, but still didn't look up. Optimus stood back up and gave Reese a gentle smile, before turning to Ratchet. "Thank you for helping her and Bulkhead, old friend," He said and then he turned and left the med bay.
Once Optimus had left, Ratchet turned back to Reese.
"Now what did I say? Didn't I tell you that you weren't a burden? If Optimus says that you aren't a burden then you aren't a burden. Now, I think that it would help you in the healing process if you would go and get some recharge, okay?" Ratchet carefully lifted Reese from the consol and placed her gently back on the ground.
"Okay, and thank you Ratchet. Not just for your medical expertise, but also for your friendship." Reese gave a small smile to the medic and then left to go to her quarters.
Ratchet, just stood there, watching her walk back to her room. He wondered at how she could still see him as a friend, even though he hardly showed any care for the humans at all. He would never understand her, but it warmed his spark to know that she saw him as her friend
Here we have another chapter! This one was a lot of fun to write. I especially enjoyed the scene of Knock Out freaking out and flailing his servos around in an attempt to shake Reese lose. I literally laughed out loud while I was writing that part. I hope you enjoyed reading this chapter as much as I enjoyed writing it! I hope you have a blessed and wonderful day ;D. Please Review and let me know what you think!
