Hey everybody! Sorry I didn't update yesterday. I know I should have but I was out all day and night. But here's the next chapter! Sprinklingstardust1596 said that Brynn should smack Kili in the head. It looks like you can tell the future! ;)

A storm started as the company trekked up the mountain, hitting them hard. Sheets of rain pelted them, making the path slippery and hard to walk on. They could barely see, it was freezing, and they were soaked to the bone.

The Company ducked as a boulder crashed into the mountain side above them, showering them with debris.

"This is no thunder storm. It's a thunder battle! Giants! Stone giants!" Bofur yelled, pointing upward.

They looked into the rain. Huge stone giants fought above them. The battle seemed to shake the entire mountain. The dwarves abandoned their trek and pressed themselves tight to the wall, afraid of falling off the side. Suddenly, a crack split the company apart. Another giant was emerging from the mountain, ready to join the fray.

"Brynn! Grab my hand!" Fili yelled to his sister.

Brynn stretched her arm to grab Fili's, but it was too late - they were too far apart. Fili and Kili watched helplessly as their sister was taken farther away with other members of the Company. There was nothing anyone could do.

The giants fought hard, but there always had to be a loser in battle, and finally, the one carrying Brynn and the others was defeated. It stumbled before crashing into the mountain side. A look of shock fell over the surviving members.

"Mahal, not again." Fili whispered. "Please, not again."

Kili grabbed Fili's arm to keep him from sliding to the path. Brynn could not have survived such a horrendous warg attack to be defeated by giants. Not when they had been so close to watch.

"They are alive!" Thorin shouted, the only one brave enough to go around the bend where the Company would have crashed.

Fili ran around the bend, Kili not far behind. They shoved past the other dwarves. Brynn and the others were picking themselves up off the ground, startled but okay. Brynn soon found herself in a crushing hug from both her brothers. She often scoffed at their constant worry, but this had been legitimate, and she did not mind them needing assurance that she was okay.

"There is shelter over here!" Dwalin yelled.

Soon the company was settled in. They had all changed into dry clothes, laying the sopping wet ones to dry as best they could. After a small, but filling dinner, they all started to doze off. There was no fire, for fear of other unsavoury mountain creatures being alerted to their presence, so they had to settle in close together for warmth.

Brynn was between Fili and Kili, trying to keep warm. She was smaller than most dwarves, not in height but width, and cold had always seemed to affect her more. She watched Fili fall asleep, and assuming Kili had gone with him – they always were in sync – she closed her eyes to try and catch some rest as well.

"Bree? Are you awake?" Kili whispered.

So much for sleeping. But it was odd for Kili to still be up, so Brynn replied. "Yes."

"Do you - do you blame me for what happened to you in the forest?"

It was so ludicrous that her eyes popped open, brow furrowed. Had he truly just said that? Brynn sat up straight and turned to face him. "Why would I blame you?"

"Well, it... it was my arrow. I should have gotten it. Or at least gone with you."

Brynn didn't know what else to do, so she smacked him upside the head. "I wouldn't blame you, you halfwit. If you had gotten it, then you would have been attacked. I wanted to get the arrow, Kili. You didn't ask me to. There is no way I could rightfully blame you. You came when I called. That is all I wanted, and you did it."

Kili cast her a doubtful look.

"I'm serious! I did not want to be eaten, and you stopped that from happening. I did not want to die alone, and you held me close and never left. You did what I wanted. I do not blame you, and you should not blame yourself. Or I'll hit you again!" Brynn lay back down, being sure not to disturb Fili, who had slept through her hitting their brother. Normally he would never miss such a thing. "I'm going to sleep now."

And she did. Kili, now at peace, followed close behind. Everyone else - except Bofur, who was on watch - was asleep as well.

That is, until they were all floating. It was for but a moment, and then they all bounced off of protruding rocks and boulders. A trap door had opened, sending the Company down a tube. They hit the ground in a cage, and before they could get untangled goblins swarmed them. They each took a dwarf, holding them tightly by the arms, and began to march them down a path. Other goblins touched them as they passed, sneering and snickering. The Company tried to wrestle themselves free, but to no avail. There were too many to defeat.

The goblins shoved them down a passage, and eventually they were brought to their destination – in front of the goblin king. Brynn cringed at his horrid appearance. It was far worse than any of the other goblins. He was just as deformed, but huge, both in height and weight, and was covered in abscesses.

"What are dwarves doing in my domain?" The goblin king demanded, outraged.

There was silence. The dwarves knew better than to speak. They could not give away their quest, or all the dark creatures of Middle Earth would be after them to stop it. And if the goblin king found out he had Thorin Oakenshield in his grasp, he would faint from joy – then do unspeakable things.

"Well?" The king prompted.

Still, no one answered.

"Fine. If they won't talk, we'll make them squak! Bring the mangler! Bring the bone crusher!" The king said, then paused as he spotted something that interested him. "My my. Is that a girl? Bring her to me first."

Fili and Kili fought hard against their captors as Brynn was brought forward. The goblin king stepped down from his chair, shaking the whole platform. He walked towards Brynn and started circling her. He stopped in front of her.

"Quite a fine specimen, you are."

Brynn spit in his face. He slapped her, so hard that she sprawled across the floor, her lip split. She felt blood drip from the wound and wiped it away, insides boiling.

The goblin king laughed. "And she's feisty, too! Now what would a marauder pay, for a young, pretty - and feisty - girl? I'll get a good pay for you."

The king walked back to his chair, taking a heavy seat. "From the amount of fighting over there, I think those two must be family. Brothers, perhaps? Put the girl in the holding cage, I want her to see this."

The torture machines slowly rolled onto the platform.

"Take the dark haired one."

The goblins holding Kili walked him forward, and Fili fought all the harder. It now took five goblins to hold him down, but they had to be replaced at times because of injuries he was causing. He couldn't watch his little brother and sister be harmed by this monstrosity. He wished desperately that he could be taken in their stead. Thorin was still, though Fili knew it pained him to be so. He was learned in the way of captivity. Struggling brought attention and harm to yourself and others. But no matter how much Fili sensed his uncle willing him to stop, he could not.

The goblin king looked down at Kili, a hand on his chin as he decided what to do with him. "The whips."

Duh duh duhhhh. Haha, I'm sorry if that was really short! I wanted a cliffhanger and I wanted the next and final chapter to be longer! Till next review!
