"Now will you tell me where we're going?" Elizabeth couldn't help but laugh as Stefan led her somewhere. She wasn't exactly sure where though. First he had told her to get into the car and then he had started to drive away from Mystic Falls- a good twenty miles away actually.

"It's a surprise," Stefan said calmly, he had always been more patient. "But I promise you'll like it."

"And why does my surprise have to be twenty miles away from home?" she wasn't sure if home was exactly the right word to use since her remaining family and her weren't exactly on good terms and Jeremy had recently tried to kill her because Kol threatened him because he was paranoid about Silas.

"You really are impatient you know that." He grumbled as he opened a door. He finally took the blindfold off. "Surprise."

Elizabeth had to blink a few times to make sense of what she was seeing. She was standing in a pretty large apartment with violet walls and white furniture. There was a flower vase filled with her favorite flowers-pink tulips in the middle of the white coffee table.

"It's pretty Stefan, but what are we doing here?"

"Well." Stefan sat in one of the white couches and thought of the best way to explain this to her. "Since Jeremy wants to kill you, and I'm guessing your brother Kol wants to do the same I thought it would be best if you stayed clear of Mystic Falls for a while."

"And what am I'm going to do here all alone?" she pretended to pout.

Stefan pretended to think for a moment. "Well, I wasn't going to abandoned you here by yourself."

Elizabeth snorted. "You do realize I'm a thousand years old right."

"I know," he teased lightly. "And I also remember that you once told me that you hated to be alone."

She nodded, a bit flattered. "You have a very good memory, Mr. Salvatore, but once you've lived with my family you start to get a bit crafty," she pulled out the dagger from her purse. "I'm sure my brother wouldn't mind if one of his toys suddenly goes missing."

Kol felt something sharp pressed against his back, he quickly moved. He didn't seem surprise to see Elizabeth. "Ah, sister. What a surprise."

Elizabeth gave him a dirty glare. "I bet you were hoping that Jeremy would have killed me already."

"Would you really used that on me?" he said pretending to be hurt. "You know for someone that hates our brother so much you sure are a lot like me. This cure has ruined us, little sister."

Elizabeth hesitated. "Our family has long since been ruined, Kol."

"Well, once less member to worry about." Kol flashed in front of her and pointed a white oak stake on her heart.

"Kol!" she shrieked.

Klaus threw Kol across the room. "Enough of this foolishness. Put it down, Kol."

Kol glared at him as he used his vampire speed to get out of the house.

"Hey, are you all right?" Stefan appeared right beside her, apparently he and Klaus were old bosom buddies again.

She nodded. "I can't believe it he was going to kill me."

Klaus smirked at her looking at the dagger in her hand. "Well, it seems baby sister you need to learn how to properly keep a sibling in his or her place."

Elizabeth gave him a stony look as she pulled Stefan forward. "You're no better than he is."

"Elizabeth," Stefan watched as Elizabeth pushed the door open of the apartment, practically slamming it against Stefan's face. Her face was flushed bright red in anger and she looked like she wanted to rip someone's head off. "Calm down, I know you're upset."

"Upset doesn't even begin to cover what I'm feeling Stefan." She entered her bedroom and took of her sweater and jeans and put on her pajamas pants and top. Rummaging a hand though her blond hair she put it up into a ponytail. "I can't believe my own brother hates Klaus for threatening us with the dagger and yet the second my back is turned he tries to kill me-permanently. I hate to say it, but I'm glad Klaus was there. Sorry, that I'm shutting my head off."

Stefan cleared his throat. "No believe me, I know what it's like to have a self-destructive brother." He laid down next to her when he saw that Elizabeth's eyes were still filled with hurt and confusion. "Talk to me, I'll understand I'll help you."

"It's just," her voice started breaking and she could feel the tears about to fall. "I thought things would be different, I thought things would change back to the way things were before. I was wrong things are much worse since we were first turned." The tears slowly stated pouring down her face. "Now all of us are trying to kill each other and I'm scared, Stefan."

"I'll stay with you," he promise. "Until you fall asleep."

"Thank you." She said.

They were quiet for a moment before Stefan pressed his lips on hers. Elizabeth kissed him back slowly, feeling as if the 1920's had never really ended.
