Mini Soldier

-STEVE-

Steve was feeling down, alone and above all…an idiot. He wanted to trust Tony, and he wanted to see his bright smile, but he couldn't bring himself to. Sure, the names Tony wanted made Steve smile, but it didn't feel right…none of the names felt right. They were having twins and nothing sounded right or good.

Then, Steve thought of the names Bruce had said. They were beautiful and still ARE but those names…I didn't choose them with Tony….

The soldier sighed as he looked down at his tiny-ish belly. "What am I gonna do?" He asked.

~ooOoo~

Sometime later, Steve was going for a walk but people didn't know who he was. He liked that he didn't come out and tell the world who he was, it helped. He was walking towards a café he liked. He bowed his head as he entered, going to stand in line as he waited. Someone came to stand behind him, but Steve made no move to say anything.

"Good mornin'," said the person and Steve knew it was a man. But why did his voice sound…familiar?

"Morning…" It isn't a good day! Steve thought.

The person shifted, waiting for Steve to turn. "So what are you getting?" He asked.

"Some ice tea," Steve replied, turning to glare at the person, "You—"

He stopped, as he stared at the person. The person— the man stared back at him as his breathing caught. Steve could not believe it.

"Bucky?" he whispered as the man said, "Steve?"

It was Bucky! Steve wanted to jump into Bucky's arms; he had missed his best friend so much. "You're alive! And young!" he added with bright blue eyes.

Bucky chuckled as he shrugged. "Yeah I'm alive, and yeah I'm young! But look at you, you haven't aged at all!"

Steve blushed, "Yeah…. But when did you get here?"

"I've been working with SHIELD." Bucky replied, "They needed a real good agent."

"You're an agent?" Steve asked staring with wide eyes.

Bucky nodded. "Yes, code name is 'Winter Soldier'. Works doesn't it?" Bucky chuckled. "But look at you, aren't you an agent too?"

Steve shook his head, "Nah I don't think so. Why would I be?"

"Uh, Captain America!" said Bucky with a hushed voice, "Why wouldn't you be an agent?!"

Steve felt his cheeks grow warm right as the cashier asked, "Hi, how can I help you?"

"I'd uh like a large ice tea and two chocolate chip cookies. What about you Bucky?" Steve asked, glancing at his friend as the cashier— Steve read his name was William got the order down on the cashier machine.

Bucky looked surprised. "Steve you don't gotta—…" Steve gave him a look that said 'what do you want or else'. "Umm… sugar cookie and a small black coffee?" It was more of a question, but William took it and gave Steve the cost. Steve paid it without allowing Bucky to have a say and then they waited together for their stuff. "You didn't have to buy me anything…really."

"But I wanted to," Steve explained and gave him a warm total Steve smile. "And you're my best friend! Best friends buy each other stuff."

Bucky chuckled quietly. "You still think we're best friends?"

Steve nodded and smiled brightly, and it made Bucky melt on the inside. "I still think so. Don't you?"

"Yeah of course," Bucky replied just wanting to keep that smile on Steve's face. "Who else would save your ass when you get into trouble?"

The blond grinned. "I really missed you Buck."

"And I missed you too Steve." Bucky smiled.

~xXx~

The two reunited friends spend all day together, chatting and catching up on each other's lives. Bucky had been sent on a huge mission and wasn't allowed to tell anyone he was alive or anything and it was the reason why he hadn't tried to get a hold of Steve when they found him in the ice. Bucky found out that Steve was staying at the Avenger tower and had become friends with all the team. Steve found out that Bucky had met a nice woman and planned to marry her till he caught her sleeping with some other man.

And at the moment, Bucky and Steve were talking together about how different it the world was from when they first met well walking in the park. "What do you think of computers and everything? I can barely understand them let alone use them." Steve said.

Buck chuckled. "I use the computers for different stuff, but it might come easier to me because I kinda watched them change and everything. You just kinda were pushed into everything, you know?"

"Yeah," Steve mumbled. He glanced at the time on his watch and almost froze completely up. "Is that really the time?"

"Huh? What time is it?" Bucky asked, trying to get a look at the time.

Steve looked over at his friend. "It's almost 6! Gosh, what if everyone is starving?"

Bucky gave him 'are you crazy?' look. "Why would everyone starve without you?"

Steve blushed. "I cook, clean and take care of everyone pretty much. Without me, the team would fall apart."

"Ooh." Bucky made an 'o' with his mouth. "For being Earth's mightiest heroes, they really need to learn how to get into the real world."

"Hey! Those are my friends," Steve said staring at his best friend with slight hurt in his eyes.

The brunette stopped walking as did the blond. "Hey, I wasn't saying anything wrong about them. I was making a joke, chill."

Steve took in a deep breath. "Sorry, I don't— I don't know what came over me."

"Its fine Steve, I'm not mad," Bucky reassured his friend. "Anyway, do you gotta be home?"

He nodded. "Yes….would you like to see the tower and meet the team?"

"I'd love to!" Bucky had never seemed so bright. And Steve missed that about his friend.

~xXx~

The tower was slightly dark when Steve entered from the elevator with James (Bucky) trailing behind him. He wondered where everyone was till… "Steve, you're alive! God, everyone thought you were dead!" Steve caught sight of Clint Barton making his way towards him. "Everyone was ready to go on search for you— who's this?"

Clint stared right at Bucky who waved. "I'm James Barnes, but I go by Bucky." He said. "You're Clint right?"

Steve blushed a little as Clint sized Buck up. "He's my friend from before I became Captain America."

"How does he look young and not old?" Clint asked, before looking at Bucky strangely.

"I work for SHIELD," Bucky replied. "Something happened after I fell from the train that 'killed' me. I just haven't aged since."

When Clint was about to reply and Steve knew Buck was in for a lot of questions, Natasha entered. "Clint what the hell are you— Steve? Where were you?" Natasha asked, turning her deadly glare onto Steve.

Steve blushed darkly, shifting on his feet. "I was hanging out with Buck,"

Natasha glared at Buck now and was totally sizing him up to see if he was good enough for Steve. And then in stomped Thor. "Brother Steve! Thy are safe! Where have you been?" Thor boomed.

Buck jumped. "Whoa— you're the God of Thunder, Thor! Whoa that's fucking amazing!" Bucky said staring widely at Thor.

Thor stared at Bucky like he was crazy before he grinned widely. "Why yes I am! I am Thor Odinson, God of Thunder!" He boomed loudly, "And you?!"

Bucky grinned widely back and Thor had just found a new friend. "James— but call me Bucky."

Clint and Natasha share a look, before Steve gulped. "Thor—"

Thor blinked, looking at Steve. "Brother Steve, have you met James?"

Steve nodded. "Yes….he's my best friend,"

"Best friend?" everyone turned and found Tony standing there with Bruce, who looked like he was very tired, but Tony, kept him working. "Who the hell is Steve's best friend that isn't me?" Tony asked.

Clearly, Bucky didn't like Tony. "I'm Steve's best friend, James."

"Who the hell are you and who do you THINK you are coming into MY tower and act like you OWN the place?" Tony glared.

Bruce sighed. "Tony calm down—"

Bucky stepped back to stand beside Steve. "I was invited here to hang out and see the place where my best friend lives and meet the people he cares so deeply about. Is that a problem? Because if so, you need to check again because this is a free country! Steve and I made sure that it was back in the war!" Bucky said looking at Tony deadly. "Who are you?"

Tony huffed. "If you don't know who I am, you need to update your info gramps."

"Guys!" Steve got in between them before Bucky could reply. He looked at Tony. "Tony, Bucky is our guest. We don't treat people like this. And Bucky," He looked at Buck. "Please don't fight with Tony. He doesn't take well to strangers."

Both men glare at the other. "Come on Bruce, let's go," Tony dragged the other man away. Bucky stood beside Steve, and he had won. For now…

Up Next: Tony and Bucky continue to butt heads together over different things. Sadly, Steve is caught between it all. And to make it worse, it seems like both are pushing Steve right into the waiting arms of Bruce Banner. Ooh what's going to happen now between the 3 men who have slight man-crushes on Steve?

Yes, I LOVE drama! :D

So this has changed from Bruce/Steve/Tony …..To.… Tony/Steve/Bucky and next chapter will add some Tony vs. Bucky and Steve/Bruce. What do you all think? Also, what do you think of Bucky coming into the picture? :) Did anyone see HIM coming in?

Yay lots of drama for my readers and myself! XD Am I forgetting anything? Hmm… OH YES!

I'm sorry for the wait of this chapter, :( At least its longer right? Hopefully next chapter will get to at least 2,000 words! Lots of drama coming up! :D

Review please and thank you?
