AN: Well Finals are coming up this week and I got to squeeze another chapter before the reality gets me -_- On the positive side, this story got the 50th mark on followers! haha, I'm so happy^^
Shout out to the reviewers:
Xeraphina Laurentia: The chapter got the explanation why Kakashi has trouble on writing^^ hopefully I explained it well.
June: Hello, nope^^ I have plans for a plot twist on the double digits chapters, not all worlds are sun shines and butterflies, so I got an idea how Kakashi will get to see- or well re-familiarize with his old life. There will be large time skips so watch out for it.~
Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto~

"Of course not."
Kakashi did not react to the answer, fully expecting it in this case. But he couldn't help but ask anyway, after seeing his results. Who wouldn't be tempted to ask?
Having gotten three hundred and fifty nine marks out of five hundred, Kakashi was pretty much pleased with the result.
Fifty of those questions went unanswered and the rest of his errors were from Technology related subjects and they were a mixture of those medical procedures- Sakura's nagging manage to give him a few pointers- and other engineering designs he haven't yet learned.
Though he wished that he could have finished the whole test, but he doubt he could've finished writing a sentence with the woman in the vicinity. He couldn't really fault Glass for laughing at his 'chicken scratch', even if he would laugh outright at his writing. Kakashi really needed to practice that skill area. His genin days had been spent practicing shinobi techniques and then educational skills during the nights when his father had been home.
Needless to say, he had been efficient by the end of the year. But now that his body had yet to develop a smooth hand coordination and his practice had been limited to scribbling, the end result was chicken scratch. It didn't help that this world had a universal language - English- now; his original language had been called 'Japanese'. From Hiragana and Katakana to A, B, C's, Kakashi fully understood his problem. Learning a new language when his mind was still used to another one was very hard.
The lack of a Sharingan had also slowed his progress.
At least he broke Itachi's record; that one was his first accomplishment aside from throwing his father's necktie away earlier this morning.
Suffice to say, he was definitely not attending the preschool...nor Elementary.
"Well, what's the verdict?" He prompted, snapping the principal out the daze she got into. It seemed he'd brought the 'child genius' title to another level.
"Given that the program showed that you already have the basics in nearly all subjects, Freshman in Middle School is the farthest that I could allow you to jump. If you had been eight years older, you could have gone into Highschool without a hitch, or even College, if you passed the entrance exam," Glass replied after a moment of musing.
Kakashi felt that there was more, and just kept his silence. Middle school was acceptable; it was far fetched enough to see a five year old student walking a middle school hallway, but a five year old in college? Even more so.
"But, I suggest you to get an irregular schedule," Glass sighed, as she began to nurse her head.
"Irregular?" Kakashi parroted, getting an idea what that word would do to his education.
"It means that you get to study at both Primary and Secondary level. Frankly, your hand writing sucks."
Kakashi deflated at the blunt comment. He would need to remind the Glass that he was still five years old, ignoring the thirty year old mind set he had. The woman had quickly adapted to his mentality without knowing it, and he'd gotten the short end of the stick just after two hours with her.
"And with the amount of errors you had with Technological subjects with an addition to your Physical Education," Glass continued while ruffling his hair, after seeing his reaction. "You'll need to attend the Elementary level for those three and the rest are in Middle School."
"And my schedule?" Kakashi asked, calculating the amount of time- including the travel- in the building. If he went with the timetable of a regular student here, his tardiness would be a record holder.
"Will be adjusted, so that you won't be late for each class," Glass replied as she closed the screen and opened another one. "If the amount of subjects would stress you out-"
"Nope," Kakashi denied quickly, if the kids in here were like the ones back in his timeline, he would be bullied; his three foot five inches frame had never been cut out for brawling against five footer kids and the training for his physical skills has yet to start. At least the students in middle school had enough sense... probably.
"I'll adapt," he promised after seeing the doubt in the green eyes. "I have nothing to do during the evenings, and I can work quickly if I put my mind to it."
"Nevertheless, you're still a child. I can't allow that...maybe putting you in Elementary is better."
"How about a compromise?" He quickly said before that thought could be finalized. "Give me a week to test out the schedule and if my work is below what the teachers expect, then I'll drop to Elementary level."
Kakashi knew he was digging his own grave with that deal, but cutting at least eight years of schoolwork from his lifetime was much more appealing than wasting his time sitting on a chair. He only needed to show that he would be perfectly fine with that amount of work; just a week of diligence and he could waste away the rest with laziness.
Patience was a virtue, but there was a reason aside from the third shinobi war as to why he quickly drifted through the Academy. He was not comfortable around brats- even if he was one and his students had also been an exemption.
Kakashi patiently waited for the woman to reply. Glass had diverted her attention away from the screen and was thinking it out. Her pose was the same as Tsunade's when she was planning each mission, but the thought of a 'promotion' was keeping his mind alert for a response.
"One week. That's it. I'll hold a meeting with the staff this afternoon regarding your advancement," Glass huffed as her fingers drifted through the screen.
Kakashi planted his feet firmly on the ground, stopping the childish reaction to jump, though he couldn't keep the joy from his features. Thankfully, his mask was still in place and Glass could only see his eye curving upwards.
"Thank you," Kakashi gave a short bow and hovered near the female. He watched as his data was presented to the screen and below it was his schedule.
"..."
"..."
"Could you please do something that won't distract me?" Glass muttered, eyeing him in ire just like what Tsunade had done when he'd been late for a meeting but less in intensity.
Kakashi took a step back but his eyes are still planted onto the screen. It seemed that this version of Tsunade was not accustomed to having an eye on her. He took another wide step back when the green eyes were still on his frame.
He was amused when the woman just shook her head and muttered something under her breath.
"If you don't have anything to do, other than watching me like a dog, go tell your parents about your advancement," Glass huffed.
Kakashi shrugged and gave a two handed salute.
"Yes, Ma'am."
"Brat."
Instead of following what the principal said, Kakashi just opted to make his 'call' outside of the principal's office. He couldn't outright call his parents about his advancement; it would be confusing for the Hatake couple to know how intelligent their son was when just five hours ago he was still having 'trouble' with some of his syllables.
Aside from that, the other reason he couldn't call his parents was because he didn't know how. He was pretty sure that just by telling Kuro about this, the bot could easily make a connection with his parents. But his independency was running a course on his mind-set, along with stubbornness.
Within five hours he'd already made a decision to learn all about the inner and outer workings of the technology by using his own means. It was bad enough that he'd resorted to Kuro's help just from scouting his school. While helpful, a small part of him was disappointed that he had not been the one who'd gotten the info.
So, without so much as a glance, Kakashi dragged his father's summon to an area where he was sure that the cameras wouldn't get a full view of the following interaction. He let his eye wander around the corridor for a second and nodded as his mind computed the angles of the cameras.
With the small problem gone, Kakashi pulled the FlatPad out of his bag and looked at it, contemplating. The greatest interaction he'd made with this gadget was playing games, which had just been a waste of time, but Sakumo had only taught him this procedure based on the thought that 'Kashi-chan' might be amused...suffice to say Kakashi only had to glance at the application and he'd done the only thing he'd known: closed the app.
After that episode, Kakashi didn't harry his father into teaching him the more 'useful' areas of using the FlatPad. As of now, Kakashi hoped that he wouldn't damage the gadget.
He flumped down on the floor and turned the device on. He slid his fingers and watched as the application appeared flamboyantly. His eyes quickly ignored the games and drifted to the more helpful subjects.
A single word caught his attention. His digit lay above the tile and with a shrug he touched it and watched as the application expanded, showing a lone word above a search box.
If he got this right, this would help in the long run.
"Alright I got your schedule and the lessons here, Kakashi." Samantha called out as she exited her office. She staggered in her walk as she saw only the black bot standing in the vicinity.
Her green eyes glance around and saw a small pair of shoes just behind the foot of the robot. Samantha tilted her head, view unobstructed by the robot, her eyes landed on the small hunched frame of Kakashi. Onyx eyes set on an immersed feature and even with the surgical mask on, Samantha could easily see the pout behind the cloth.
"Kakashi?" She called out, walking near the kid and crouched before him.
"Kakashi." Samantha repeated when only silence was her reply.
"Hm?" The kid said after a few moments, but Samantha could see that Kakashi's attention was fully directed at the FlatPad.
"Have you called you parents?" She asked, hoping that her question would snap the five year old from whatever world he had drowned into.
"Uhuh," was the half-hearted reply. Knowing a lie when she heard one, Samantha huffed and made a note to send a letter to the Hatakes as soon as possible. She couldn't let a five year old just enter a middle school class without as much as a parent's consent.
"What are you reading anyways?" She mumbled as she leaned closer to take a look.
However, it seemed that those words were the only thing that snapped Kakashi out of whatever funk he'd gotten into. With an alarmed shout, the masked child quickly shut the device off. Samantha frowned when she saw the sweat trailing on the kid's brows, paired with a blush peeking above the mask.
"Re-Research! I am doing...some research...yeah. Research."
Samantha blinked when Kakashi giggled in the middle of his excuse.
Appearance wise, Kakashi was pretty sure his excuse would be very obvious...then again his mind reminded him that this world's Tsunade didn't have any clue what 'research' means. He tried to snuff out the giggles from his sentence, but the inside joke was too much.
"...Right," Glass answered doubtfully, though Kakashi was sure that she would ignore the odd excuse. "What were you researching anyways?"
My guilty pleasure.
"Just some instructions," he idly replied as he stood up. But after reading the instructions he'd pretty much gotten the hang of it, though he needed to clear the history if he didn't want to get in trouble. After that, well...curiosity got the better of him and he'd ordered Kuro to stand guard (More or less to not look at what he had been typing.)
He didn't have any idea how he managed to get into all sorts of sites but he did- until one manage to get his full attention...the writing style was similar but the plot was very new to him. Perhaps he's in here too? Giving a subtle shrug on his thoughts, Kakashi was just grateful that he got to read his hobby again.
"So, what's my sched?" Kakashi asked while changing the topic.
"See for yourself." Glass offered the card and he easily plugged the card at the slot. "I thought you don't know how?"
"Part of my research," Kakashi replied hiding a laugh at the word. He watched as a new file appeared on his screen and with a touch he opened it. He blinked when he saw the rather lengthy schedule.
Well, to put it bluntly his schedule was very demanding; nearly every minute had been taken into account. At the very least, he felt that he might as well jump down to Elementary. Nevertheless, he'd given his word and he'll try it- Naruto'd gotten the better of him during the war.
"So, when do I start?" He asked, hoping to at least have the afternoon to himself. He needed to have head start on the lessons if he wanted to jump to the Middle School.
"Tomorrow."
Giving a grateful nod, Kakashi stood up from his position and Glass quickly copied his action.
"I'll send a message to your parents regarding your advancement," Glass added and was about to continue when the end of the corridor lowered down, revealing a group consisting a pair of what seemed to be several Elementary students, a very stressed out teacher and lastly a robot.
"Miss Glass-"
"Again?" The principal only sighed in exasperation. "First day of class and trouble already?"
Kakashi eyed the troublemakers -he didn't need a hint to know who Glass was referring to. On the other hand, he was astonished to recognize -somewhat- who the students were...or had been... Needless to say, despite the small changes, he could easily see whom the pair of students resembled in his time.
"What did the two of you do this time?"
AN: So any guess who the two students are? And I'm pretty sorry if some of you were offended when realizing that Kakashi went on his reading spree...internet gets you everywhere.
As for those who were wondering on who 'Tsunade' was in the first chapter she is just and OC. The Samantha Glass is the 'real' counterpart of Tsunade in this world.
So please, drop a review.
