HM: Hello my pointy-eared people! Yes, it is I! Giving you another chapter of YAWP! *blows kazoo* Now, three things, first, this is NOT going to be slash. All the interaction between Draco and Percy is going to be purely platonic. Second, for those who DO want a Draco/Percy thing, see my end notes in the last two chapters. Third, I want to make a retraction. The chapters concerning Percy's Hogwarts escapades are going to be ODD numbered, while his CHB life will be detailed in all EVEN numbered chapters. Sorry about any confusion. Now, without further ado, on with the story!

IX: Of Flying Cars and Killer Trees

Dinner with the Malfoys was… interesting, to say the least. Narcissa studied the black-haired wizard sitting next to her son with an indecipherable expression. Being one of the best Occlumens and Legilimens of her time, surpassing even Snape, she was good at not letting anything implicating show.

But that was neither here nor there, her focus right now was on the fidgeting twelve year-old before her. With messy black hair and eyes greener than the sea, she almost confused him for the Potter boy, or his long-lost twin.

"So, Perseus-"

"Percy." He interrupted, immediately turning red and looking down afterwards.

She rose an eyebrow but said nothing about the interruption. "Percy, my son tells me that you are the new Seeker of the Slytherin Quidditch team?" Best keep the topic on a light note before prying deeper, she figured.

To her expectations, the boy nodded happily. "I was kinda surprised when Professor McGonagall took me to Marcus Flint, telling him that I was to be their new Seeker."

Narcissa hummed and traced the rim of her goblet with her finger. "A wise endeavor, it seems, as the Slytherin team has been winning almost every game." Her tone, while still cold, conveyed a measure of pride.

Percy grinned at her and, for a split-second, Narcissa felt herself melting at the sight. However, she remained resolute. "My son speaks of you often, how you are not afraid to speak up for him. For that, you have my thanks." She paused for a moment to let him digest that.

"Thanks, Mrs. Malfoy." He beamed while Draco flushed a little bit from embarrassment. "He's a good friend, though Potter and Weasley don't like him for some reason." He said that as if he could see no reason why no one would like his friend.

Narcissa smiled slightly, a mere twitch of her lips. "Indeed. As such, I must admit that I do not know you that well, and I would wish to. After all, what mother doesn't want the best for her son?" The underlying threat was crystal clear, to everyone but Percy.

The raven-haired wizard nodded. "I get it. What do you wanna know?"

This was almost too easy, the matriarch mused. "Well, to begin, tell me about your parents." She laced her fingers together and gave him her undivided attention, her husband and son listening attentively as well.

Percy hummed in thought, wondering where to start. "Well, my mom's a Squib, her parents didn't want her so they sent her to America. I think she does have magic, but because she was never taught how to use it, she can't do any spells because her core's underdeveloped, at least, that's what Headmaster Dumbledore told me." He answered.

Narcissa hummed at that. "And your father?"

Percy's face darkened slightly. "He's… not in the picture. He left after I was born. Lost at sea, apparently."

Narcissa felt a slight pang of sympathy for him. Family was the most important thing to her, and she would defend them from You-Know-Who himself if he was to threaten them. Now, for someone to willingly leave their family… She reached over and grasped his hand, causing him to look up in surprise. "It's alright dear, you don't have to talk about it if you don't wish to." She soothed.

Percy nodded and gave her a small smile.

"But, let's talk about your mother." She suggested.

Percy brightened up immediately, and launched into talk of how excellent his mother was, how she gave up so much for him, how she had to endure a (presumably) abusive relationship (of which Narcissa was furious about and had half a mind to Apparate to the git's place and Avada Kedavra the bastard, consequences be damned), and just good things. Narcissa, as well as the other Malfoys, listened to this with rapt attention.

The Malfoy matriarch was thrilled at the fact that the boy loved his mother and his friends so much, how loyal he was to them. If that wasn't a Slytherin trait, she was a mudblood.

"What's your mother's name?" She inquired.

"Sally Jackson."

Narcissa had a vision of many years prior, holding a baby girl in her arms. She shook her head of any errant thoughts and focused back on the boy who was slowly but surely worming his way into her good graces, as well as her heart. "I would like to meet this fine woman one day, I'm sure the two of us would get along swimmingly." She decided.

Percy beamed at her and nodded. "Yeah! I think she'd like that too. She doesn't have that many friends outside of work!"

It was at that moment a house-elf came in.

"M-master, Mistress. Professor Severus Snape for yous." He stuttered.

Lucius nodded regally and the house-elf bowed, scurrying away. He was back a few moments later with the Potions Master himself, who rose an eyebrow in surprise when he saw Percy sitting next to Draco.

"Lucius, Narcissa, Draco… Mr. Jackson, a pleasant surprise to see you. I'm sure you've been keeping up with your reading?" He sat down at the chair next to Narcissa and black eyes met green.

Percy nodded happily, despite the fact that the Professor was giving him what he called the 'mind-reading' look. Satisfied, the Hogwarts Professor sat back and nodded at Narcissa and Lucius.

"It's been too long, Severus. How is your career at Hogwarts going along?" Narcissa inquired.

"Pleasant enough. I'm sure you heard of the events that transpired last year?" He replied.

Both Malfoy heads nodded. "Yes, Draco told us, although, I do not believe that is talk for the dinner table, Severus." Narcissa scolded.

The Professor nodded. "My apologies, Narcissa. Though I am sure Draco and Mr. Jackson will agree with me when I say that efforts will have to be doubled to win the House Cup this year. We don't want the Gryffindor's to win again." He said with with a glance at the two boys, who nodded in determination.

And so, dinner came and went, and Percy was standing by the fireplace, a handful of Floo Powder in his hand. Narcissa and Draco stood in front of him, small smiles on their faces.

Narcissa came forward and surprised Percy when she enveloped him in a hug. Granted, it was a small hug, but a hug nonetheless, and Percy liked hugs.

"It was wonderful meeting you, Percy. Know that you will always be welcome in our home. And give your mother my regards." She smiled down at him.

He beamed at her and nodded. "Will do Mrs. Malfoy."

She chuckled. "Please, call me Narcissa, dear. I look forward to meeting your mother."

Draco came forward next and gave Percy a hug too. "See you Perce, I'll save us a carriage on the train." He grinned. "And remember that spell I showed you."

Percy grinned in reply and stepped into the fireplace. "Sally Jackson's!" He shouted, throwing the powder down, emerald flames engulfing him.

Draco stared at the spot his best mate occupied previously and felt an arm drape around his shoulder. He looked up and saw his mother smiling down at him lovingly. "You have a good friend in Percy Jackson, Draco, cherish that friendship. I have a feeling that the two of you are destined for great things."

She squeezed his shoulders and the witch walked away to where her husband and Severus were, presumably discussing about goings-on at Hogwarts.

.

The first of September couldn't come fast enough to Percy. Throughout the week prior, he had been nothing short of a bundle of energy. He was eager to go back to Hogwarts and continue his magical education. It was bittersweet, though, when he had to say goodbye to his mother.

Nevertheless, the boy all but skipped to Platform 9 ¾, passing through the magical barrier with ease and making his way to the Hogwarts Express.

He stowed his luggage way and ventured into the train, searching for his blonde friend. He looked in compartment after compartment, but he did not find any sign of the blond.

"Percy."

He almost jumped out of his skin when he heard his name whispered next to him. Let it be known that he DID NOT yelp.

He spun around and was met with the dreamlike face of Luna Lovegood.

That was the second time she had done that.

"Hey Luna. What's up?" He acted nonchalant, putting his hands in the pockets of his jeans and lowering his heart rate.

She smiled at him, more likely than not she saw through his bravado.

"I never had the chance to thank you."

He gave her a confused look. "Thank me? For what?"

"For pulling me out of the way. Back in Flourish and Blotts. The bookcase."

He blinked, and then he nodded, remembering how he had pulled her out of the way from a bookcase that otherwise would've fallen right on top of her.

"If you hadn't done that, I most likely wouldn't be here right now. So thank you."

Percy shook his head and smiled at her. "It's no big. Anyone would've done that."

She tossed her hair over her shoulder and smiled. "I believe that is highly unlikely." The Ravenclaw girl stepped into his personal space and they both stared at each other for what seemed like hours, silver clashing with green.

Finally, she leant in and kissed his cheek. "A small token of my gratitude. If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask, I'll always be willing to assist you in any way I can."

With that, she walked away and into another carriage, leaving him stunned and wide-eyed.

.

.

.

He sighed in relief when he opened the door to another carriage and found his friend sitting across from a brown-haired girl.

He smiled when he saw him and pat the space next to him. Percy obliged and was met with Pansy Parkinson's raised eyebrow.

"What Pansy?"

The Slytherin girl shrugged. "Nothing, just thinking about the lost look on your face when you came in."

He flushed and huffed. "I couldn't find you guys, ok?"

Pansy smirked. "Oh? Or were you just too busy snogging Loony Lovegood to look closer?"

The black-haired wizard flushed and sputtered. "I-it's not like that!" He denied.

Pansy barked out a laugh. "Oh? Then why are you blushing Percy?"

Draco looked between the two in amusement. While a little rough around the edges, Pansy Parkinson was an invaluable friend, if you managed to stay on her good side, that is.

The three of them, along with Blaise Zabini, had kicked it off since First Year. While Potter, Granger and Weasley were called the Golden Trio amongst the students of Hogwarts, Draco, Percy, and Pansy were the Silver Trio (Quartet if you count Blaise).

Pansy was still laughing at Percy's blushing face when their fourth friend arrived.

Blaise's dark eyes took in the scene and he raised an eyebrow. Always the silent type, he was the odd one, yet the one who always managed to calm both Percy and Pansy down when they got too rowdy.

"Blaise! You should've seen it, Percy and Loony were snogging in the hall!"

"We were NOT! She kissed my cheek, that's it!"

"That doesn't mean you don't want to!"

"What does that have to do with anything?!"

Blaise sighed and sat next to Pansy across from Percy. He crossed his arms and gave Pansy a look.

"Like we haven't noticed that you've been making eyes at Diggory." The stoic Slytherin said.

Percy and Draco gaped at her in shock as she flushed. "THE HUFFLEPUFF?!" Draco screeched while Percy laughed his head off.

"Shut up!" She vented, though it came out as a squeak.

That only made Percy laugh harder and high-five the smirking Blaise.

Pansy crossed her arms and huffed. "You don't have any room to talk Blaise. Or you Draco. ESPECIALLY YOU Draco! The whole House knows you've been eyeing Granger."

Draco gaped at her, while Blaise and Percy gaped at him. "UNTRUE!"

Pansy smirked and crossed her arms. "Oh yeah? Then why do you stare at her from across the Great Hall while she's eating?"

"I don't." He denied, though it was a weak denial at best.

She then turned to Blaise. "And don't even get me started on you and Bones."

The dark-skinned boy shrugged. "Her family is influential, one of the most important families on the Wizengamot."

"So, we all have dirt on each other, I guess we just need to make sure we stay on each other's good side." Percy nodded sagely.

Pansy grinned and nodded. "That's what Slytherin is all about, isn't it? Fraternity. I mean, we've had a couple of bad eggs, but so what? No House is perfect. I bet even those Hufflepuffs have a couple skeletons in their closets."

The other three nodded.

"But as long as we stick together, no one can take us down." Percy chirped.

Draco smirked and crossed his arms. "Not even the Golden Trio."

They all shared a laugh at that.

It was then Pansy smirked evilly, which usually meant that she was plotting something. "I have an idea."

The other three looked at her in curiosity. "I say, that we follow what Potter and his friends are doing, and try to one-up them. They only won House Cup last year because of what went down in the dungeons, what if we do the same?"

"Sneak a troll into Hogwarts?" Percy innocently asked.

"No! Though, that would be bloody wicked, but no!" She huffed.

"Then what?" Blaise inquired.

A wide grin spread across her face. "Whatever big event might happen this year, we try to find out what it is before Potter and friends do."

Realization dawned on them, and Draco looked thoughtful. "You know, now that you mention it, I did hear my father talking about something about a chamber in Hogwarts. I did some research and I found something called the 'Chamber of Secrets'. Apparently it's something that's been around since the Founders'."

"What is it?" Percy asked, interested.

"I have no clue, all I know is that only the 'True Heir of Slytherin' can open it, and that it's guarded by a monster, though I don't know what it is." The blonde replied.

The other three nodded before Pansy grinned. "That's perfect! I'm sure Potter's going to be all over this, and when he and his friends start to dig in, we'll be right there behind them, ready to take all the glory from them. Plus, we'll have Percy on the Quidditch team, and he's absolutely awesome as Seeker, the House Cup's as good as ours!" She threw her head back and cackled, thunder and lightning choosing that moment to crash against the Scotland highlands.

Blaise, Percy, and Draco scooted away a bit from the young cackling witch, the three of them sending each other a look that they all understood: Pansy Parkinson was a bit mad.

.

.

.

The four of them swapped stories as the train sped along, what each did that summer, what they planned on doing, and the like.

"I have a suggestion." Three pairs of eyes glanced at the normally silent Blaise in surprise.

"What you got Blaise?" Percy asked, leaning forwards.

"For our first break, I say we spend it together, the four of us."

They looked at each other, pondering over the suggestion the dark-skinned wizard brought to them. Slowly, wide grins came upon all of their faces.

"I say let's do it!" Percy chirped with a fist-pump, Draco and Pansy agreeing. Blaise smiled at their enthusiasm.

"So what do you have planned?" Pansy asked him.

He shrugged. "I don't know. You guys got any ideas?"

All three of them shook their heads. "Well, we'll figure it out as the year goes on. There's no need to know exactly what we're going to do now." He leaned back and closed his eyes. "In any case, I'm going to take a nap. Let me now when we get there." With that, Blaise fell silent once more.

The other three talked in hushed whispers, so that they didn't wake their friend up. Eventually, though, Percy yawned and his eyes started to close, no matter what he did to keep them open.

"Tired?" Draco asked softly.

The black-haired wizard nodded. "Didn't get much sleep last night. Too excited." He mumbled.

Draco nodded and glanced at Pansy, who was falling asleep too. "Well, take a nap then. I'll wake you up when we get close to the school."

Percy nodded and leaned sideways on Draco's shoulder. Soon enough, he was asleep and snoring softly. Somehow, Pansy ended up with her head in Blaise's lap, slumbering away.

And so, the train ride to Hogwarts was a mostly silent one. Draco stared out the window, a hurricane of thoughts spinning around in his head. He hoped Dobby did what he had ordered him to do, and that his parents didn't find out.

Percy mumbled in his sleep and shifted a bit. Draco looked over at him and hoped that the black-haired wizard was doing alright. He knew that the half-blood's home life wasn't the best, and he wanted to do something, anything, to rectify that, but he couldn't think of anything for the life of him.

The train jerked a bit and Percy's head slid from Draco's shoulder to his lap. The blond let him and continued to look out the window.

Some time later, Percy jerked a bit and moaned in his sleep, causing Draco to turn concerned grey eyes to him. His friend was tossing and turning, mumbling in his sleep and breathing heavily.

Draco started to panic, he didn't know what was going on or what what to do. His friend then whimpered a bit, and Draco glanced at Pansy and Blaise to make sure it didn't wake them up.

Thankfully it didn't and Draco sighed in relief, but that still left him no closer to a solution than before.

When his friend whimpered again, the blonde placed his hand on raven locks and started to stroke his hair, like his mother would when he had a nightmare. It seemed to work as Percy eventually calmed down and his breathing was soon even.

The blond let out a large exhale in relief and sagged against the cushion. "Merlin's beard." He whispered.

.

.

.

.

.

Finally, the train rolled to a stop. Pansy, Blaise, and Percy were woken up by Draco and the three of them stretched their limbs, the joints locking into place with a crack. The four of them quickly changed and got off of the train.

Soon enough, they were seated in the Great Hall once more. Professor McGonagall led students into the Hall and, like last year, lined them up.

The Sorting Ceremony commenced and Percy felt eyes on him. Suspecting who the owner was, he looked over at the Ravenclaw table and spotted silver eyes staring at him unblinkingly.

He smiled at Luna and waved. She returned the smile and sent him a wave of her own. He ignored Pansy's snicker and looked around the Hall. He blinked when he saw Hermione Granger sitting mostly by herself, her other two friends nowhere to be seen.

Percy nudged Draco, and the blonde looked at him questioningly. "What?" He asked, though he had to lean down and whisper to be heard.

"Granger's sitting by herself. Potter and Weasley aren't here." He reported.

Draco rose an eyebrow and motioned for Pansy and Blaise to look at the Gryffindor table.

Percy glanced at the staff's table and got the other three's attention. "Professor Snape's not at the table either."

The three shrugged, but all attention was turned towards the delicious-looking food on their plates.

The doors opened and Professor Snape all but skipped towards the staff table, looking like he had just won the lottery, or that someone had given him unlimited Galleons to use towards potion-making ingredients and instruments.

He leaned down and whispered in both Professor McGonagall's and Headmaster Dumbledore's ears. Professor McGonagall whipped her head towards him, her face going from pale to unbelievably red, her lips pressed in an extremely thin line.

Headmaster Dumbledore, however, looked extremely grave and solemn. Both of them nodded and followed Professor Snape out of the Hall.

"What do you think that was about?" Percy asked, lifting up a forkful of mashed potatoes to his mouth.

"Don't know, but whatever it is, it has Uncle Sev in a good mood." Draco mused. "I've never seen him that happy before."

Pansy shrugged. "Maybe he caught Potter getting into trouble."

The four of them shrugged.

Some time later, Headmaster Dumbledore came back into the Hall, followed by a now frowning Professor Snape. Dumbledore's eyes twinkled behind his glasses and he looked smug.

Professor McGonagall came in not too long after they did, also looking considerably smug.

The four friends gave each other a look and glanced towards the staff table, where Professor Snape was glaring at his food as if he was willing it to burst into flames.

Dumbledore was calmly eating, as well as Professor McGonagall.

Someone tapped him on the shoulder and he turned his head to see the face of Daphne Greengrass. "Percy, did you hear?"

He shook his head. "No, hear what?"

"They're saying Potter and Weasley drove a flying car here because they missed the train and that they got expelled." She informed him.

Percy rose an eyebrow and digested the info.

"Well, I don't think they got expelled. I mean, look at Headmaster Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall. I highly doubt that they expelled them, flying car or not." He replied finally.

The girl rose an eyebrow and hummed. "I didn't consider that." She said, thinking it over. She gazed up at him and her blue eyes were guarded and considering. "You know, you're smarter than you let on, Percy." She said.

He shrugged. "I'd like to think so. Wouldn't be much of a Slytherin if I wasn't, would I?"

She blinked and chuckled slightly. "And you have a sense of humor. I think you and I should get to know each other better, Percy." She purred.

Percy blinked and smiled. He knew what she was getting at, but it was better to play dumb, for now. "Sure! I like making friends, especially ones who are as talented as you." He praised.

The girl blushed slightly, but shrugged it off. She smirked at him and placed her hand on his bicep. "I look forward to it." She then turned back and began to eat her food.

He turned towards his three friends, who all gave him a look that conveyed that they would speak later. Percy shrugged and went back to eating, trying to ignore the, somewhat heated, gaze of a certain Ravenclaw.

.

.

.

.

That night, after everyone had fallen asleep, Percy rose from his bed and retrieved one of the chairs from the common room. He stationed it in front of the window that looked out into the murky depths of the lake and sat in it, simply staring at the water and listening to the waves lap against the glass. The sound was peaceful and relaxing to him, his breathing matching the rythem of the waves striking the stone of the caste

After the feast had ended, Pansy just about dragged him by the back of his shirt towards the dungeons. She had demanded the password from one of the Slytherin Prefects and marched to the Slytherin common room.

Once there, she sat him down and all three of them stood in front of him with arms crossed and frowns on their faces. "What was that about Jackson?" Pansy hissed.

Percy shrugged. "Hell if I know. Ask Greengrass, she was the one who started it."

"What exactly did she say to you?" Blaise's voice was low and dangerous, no one messed with his friends and lived.

So, he told them what had trasnpired between him and Daphne. It took awhile, but he managed to calm them down.

"In any case," Blaise spoke up. "You'd best be on your guard. Greengrass has her sights set on you and will exploit any weakness she finds."

Percy nodded and they were interrupted as First and Second Years came pouring in.

They headed to their dormitories and unpacked their trunks and changed into their pajamas.

Percy stayed in his chair for some time, just thinking. He thought he saw something move in the water, but he passed it off as the giant squid that occupied the lake.

Finally, he got up from his chair and slipped into bed. His final thought before he fell asleep was that he hoped this year wouldn't try to kill him.

HM: Oh Percy, you poor, poor thing, already having the girls after you. Welp, anyways, onto your reviews!

Sceonn: Well, she never said that they were just limited to the British Ile. Hecate's a tricky customer, always saying one thing but meaning another. This is just the background for the British Wizardkind, for all we know, she could've been blessing individual people since the gods first came into existance, but this is the first time she brings them together as a nation.

Guest1: For First Year, I really couldn't find anywhere to fit Percy in without most of the spotlight being taken off of Harry. It's not until this year that Sytherin House is directly involved in the year's incident, which gives plenty of room for Percy to take the spotlight now. In first year, he would've just been limited to Quidditch matches and I couldn't find any other realistic ways to involve him in TPS storyline.

daraidlay: Oh there will be more, believe me. *evil laughter*

alohasunset: Chapters will be uploaded a bit more regularly now haha! And thanks!

morganemilrmorris: Thank you so much! Yeah I couldn't find any of him in Slytherin either. *shrugs*

Nicercylover108: Well, I have a challenge up if you wanna take a look at it, it's in the last two chapters, chapters 7 and 8.

monkeybaby: Glad you caught that! I was hoping someone would!

Matt: Oooh that's a new ship name, I like it! Annabeth will have someone, don't worry. Draco will have someone too, but now that you mention it, you have my brain working...

olweyes555: Thanks! Yeah it was more realistic having him as an eleven year-old than a seventeen year-old. Draco being an overprotectivve brother, older brother, is my headcanon.

Guest2: Yes he is!

Nunya: Actually, he was able to love, J.K said that it was more symbolic. He canphysicallyfeel love, but he can't understand it. She answered some tweets not too long ago where she addressed that. And there's such a thing as influential marriage not based on love. In the olden days, some women in nobility would be married off to someone with a higher social standing then them. In this case, since Voldemort was all about blood purity, he could've chosen a girl from a highly magical background and with the potential to bear powerful children and use her as nothing more than a brood mare. Yes, it's animalistic and disgusting, but would you expect anything less from the Dark Lord?

Guest3: Who knows?

NicercyPercico: Yes. Cats are weird, but I love them. Their blog helped me shape this story sooo much, I owe them a huge thank you! Yeah, Poseidon probably figured Triton would be jealous of his baby brother, so I guess he was trying to quell that jealousy? And Triton will play a role in this story. We haven't scratched the surface of the enigma that is Glacier, hehehe. Some people may wonder why Hermes, well, remember what one of his sacred animals were? And what was Salazar's special gift? Yeah... Percy usually just does what he wants... there's no reasoning with the child, I know from personal experience, you know how many times I've had to redecorate my lair because of him?! MANY. We'll never know until she wants us to know haha! You bet he did, I'm, like, 100000000000% sure that Triton wouldn't allow Percy to suffer too much. Oh, but think of all the birthday presents he had to have delivered. Maybe I'll make a collection of one-shots about that...

Thiltelles: That he does, that he does.

HetaRosFangirl: Thanks! Welcome back to the Fields of Punishment! Cookies are on the table to your left and to the right are tissues to shed over the fandom. There are, I'm sure MACUSA (I'm not sure if I'm going to include them) would want him to attend Ilvermorny since he's on American soil, but, at the same time, Dumbledore wouldn't want the grandson of the Dark Lord to be out of sight for so long. And now that he's Draco's best friend, you can bet that Lucius won't let them take him away. He kept his wand out of sight for the bathroom incident, but that's not a secret that's gonna be secret forever.

HarbingerOfTheApocalypse: Thank you so much!

Tiur288: Thanks!

Guest4: Gahhhh! You've just brought another idea to my head! That's it, I'm (probably) going to write one-shot AU's with different pairings... *sobs*

HM: Alright! Now that that's out of the way, don't forget to participate in the challenge! Oh! And... a couple things, are any of you on Pottermore? I wanna know what Houses you guys are in, I'm curious. Also, *spoilers* I wanna have him become an Animagus, but I'm having toruble deciding which form I want him to take. I would say Cecaelia, but He's gonna have a merperson form already, so that's out. What I'm trying to say, is that I want suggestions. Let me know which animal form should be his Animagus form and I'll put a poll up for the ones I like the most.

That being said, Like it? Hate it? Let me know! Review, PM, or send a holographic message, I wanna know. Until next time! Ja ne!
