I DO NOT OWN THE HOBBIT
Two weeks later he and twenty others were surveying the human's village. The men had gone out to do their ice fishing and the only ones left were the women and children. Azog had planned it to be so. He spoke to his left and right Orcs without looking away from the viallge.
"We shall go in and kill the women and children. Then we shall gather their bodies in the house that is furthest from the village front with a trail that will lead their men to their building. When the men enter, we shall greet them from among the bodies," Azog paused, "Any questions?"
The Orcs shook their heads and smiled back at him, stained teeth and receding gums made him frown inside. They were all starving. They needed this food and fight more than anything. He nodded to them and they slipped back to tell the plan to the other. He heard the soft grunts of consent and smiled to himself. It had taken him long hours to persuade the Chief to let him lead this attack. It wasn't that the Chief didn't know he could do. He knew Azog could take that village apart with ease. That is what worried him. That Azog could do it. His Right and Left returned and he gave the order.
They crept down to the village using rock and snow drift to hide their approach. When there was no more cover that way; Azog fell to his hands and knees and they all began crawling through the snow, their arms and legs going numb but it gave them extra cover for a few meters. Then when the snow cover was almost gone, they went into a full sprint. The few men that were left behind were taken down because of their surprise at seeing the Orc raise out the snow. Azog ripped out a chunk of flesh from the man shoulder and chewed. The warm meat in his mouth sent shivers of delight thorough him. He saw the others watching him and he nodded to them.
"One bite," he said, "And then we move."
The other followed his lead. Then they were off; breaking into groups of two and raiding the houses. The screams and cries of the mothers and children were like music to their ears and Azog laughed at their attempts to defend themselves. Their blood gave welcome if not brief warmth against the cold. Azog leaned in as he slit the throat of a woman so that her blood would spray over his face and chest. The warmth of it soothed the cold of his nose and ears. He looked at his partner. The Orc grinned back at him and licked a drop of blood that was hanging of the tip of his lip.
"Let's get these to the house," Azog said, ripping open a large gash in the corpse's belly, "Rip them well. I want a nice trail. No need to make this harder for the men to find them when they get back." His partner laughed and together they dragged the bodies out.
When they had finished piled the bodies in, Azog chose ten of his Orcs to stay with him and sent the others to hide atop the roofs on the other houses in a arc around the house that held the bodies.
"When you hear the screams come and join us," he told them before they left,"We can't let any of our food escape. Anyone that lets a man escape will not eat tonight." They all nodded and went to their posts.
"Not a bite till we get them all," Azog said as he settled on the floor and pulled some bodies over himself to hide under them. The Orcs that remained with him nodded and covered themselves as well. The bodies had all gone cold and Azog was beginning to feel the freeze creeping slowly into his bones when he finally heard the shouts and screams of the returning men. He smiled for a moment then flexed his fingers around his sword handle in anticipation. The door of house was bolted inside so as to give the men a little work to get the blood rushing. Rushing blood spilled better out of bodies. Azog heard dull pounding against the door then the sharp splintering of wood. The heady stench of man rushed in. He heard the scream and then the sound of someone retching. Then with a roar he leapt up, throwing the corpses forward. He saw the looks of horror as the men instinctively threw their arms up to protect themselves. Some were knocked down by the cold stiff bodies of their loved ones. The ones that escaped the body throw had a moment of hesitation. That cost them dearly. Azog leapt and grappled a man, sinking his teeth into the man's neck. The man screamed. Azog ripped away not opening his mouth so that a chunk of flesh ripped out. The man reached to grad his neck but never made it. Azog pulled his sword out of the man's stomach. He whirled around to slash two other men and then spun again to take down two more. When he looked back at the door his Orc from outside were pulling their sword out of the remainder of the men. The Orcs stood panting slightly then they looked at each other. They all broke out in grins and rough laughter.
"Let's get these bundled up," Azog said, "We need to haul them to camp. But we must take a small detour first."
And with that they tied up the bodies and began draggin them through the snow towards the Wolf's cave.
