Observation Chapter 9

A tired Natsumi stands in front of the Ladies' Changing room at 5pm, still wearing her uniform.

"I'm hungry," she groaned, rubbing her flat stomach.

10 minutes passed, but there was no sign of a tall, dark and handsome black-haired man.

"Shouji..." Natsumi thought, her boyfriend of two years has always been punctual, but she felt like something was wrong.

Aoi, her brown-haried guy more feminine than her, passed by, carrying a few boxes.

"Oh, Natsumi, how is Senior Officer Toukairin?"

"Huh? We're supposed to meet here, but..."

Aoi interrupted. "Oh, no... I thought you know!"

"What? What happened?" Natsumi's tone changed from suprised to worried.

"He just came from the clinic around 30 minutes ago, he got some medicine. He really looked weak..."

Natsumi's eyes began showing tears. Shouji has always been fit, healthy and strong. He is still human, after all.

"Aoi, thank you... I'll go see him!"

She was in panic.

"Oh, where did all of my skills go?" she thought. Shouji did provide them training back when they were still getting to know each went upstairs as quick as possible, her heart racing.

She almost collapsed when she opened the rooftop door, and rushed towards a yellow tent. She quickly opened its opening and saw her man who seems to be panting, covered with sweat, even if he is wearing a sando.

Natsumi touched his neck. "He's very hot," she saw a digital thermometer lying beside him, and a few tablets. She placed the thermometer uner his left underarm, and left the tent.

15 minutes passed she cam back with a few things - a basin with hot water, towels, a saucepan, and some instant noodle soup.

She pulled out the thermometer and his temperature was up to 39 degrees.

"I'm sorry," Natsumi borrowed some of Shouji's mountain cookware and started boiling the water for the soup.

She went back to the tent and started using the warm towel to warm his body.

"I love you. You'll be OK..."

After finishing the noodle soup, she poured some in a small bowl and upon seeing his peacful sleeping form, she smiled and put the bowl down. She decided to lie doown beside him.

"Natsumi-san..." Shouji groaned in his sleep and embraced Natsumi without knowing the she is actually there.

Both fell asleep through the night in each other's arms.

The green-eyed brunette opened her eyes and...

"Ugh... sunshine?" Her eyes went wide open. She turned to her left, and she realized that she is alone in the tent.

Upon opening the tent, she saw her boyfriend smiling. "Good morning," he greeted.

Natsumi rushed to him and checked his temperature. "Thank you. I'm better now. You are a great nurse," Shouji praised, giving him a kiss in the cheek. Natsumi hugged him. "I'm so glad... You made me worried!"

"I'm sorry," Shouji gave her a sheepish smile. "You must be hungry. I brought you something"

Natsumi realized that she hasn't eaten since yesterday afternoon. "Thanks!"

She grabbed the sandwich he brought. "Wait... what time is it?"

"Why are you so worried? It's you day off, remember? I sent Miyuki a message and told her you're here." Shouji answered with reassurance.

"Whew... Thank God you're better now!" Natsumi smiled as she took a bite from her sandwich.
