Author's Note: If you still read this, I applaud your patience. I am now out of school and I work pretty much 7 days a week. So I don't get as much time as I'd like. This chapter is the whole reason I did this story at all, but I wanted to lead up to it. So I hope you enjoy it very much. I hope I like it.

Disclaimer: As always I don't own these characters, If I did, a lot of things would be different on the show.

The couples that are "meant to be" are the ones who go through everything that is meant to tear them apart and come out even stronger than they were before. ~Unknown

Neal was really excited. He couldn't be more excited. And Henry's excitement over the question Neal was going to ask Emma made Neal even more excited. Neal and Emma were doing well. They were staying in the house Neal, and her parents built for Emma. Neal's relationship with his father was getting better, it would never be what it was when he was a child but it was good. Robin had become a very good friend of Neal's as well, not only because they both loved women that had magic, but their bond of being fathers helped their relationship as well.

Neal looked around the clearing that just a few hours ago had been blank and nothing around but trees but now was just what he hoped would encourage Emma to say yes to what he was going to ask. A question that he knew he should have asked 12 years ago. Regina and his father actually helped him and worked together with little fuss to help him. Regina and him seemed to be getting along better, Regina, Emma, and Neal were co-parenting Henry very well lately. Neal finally decided that he needed to go get dressed for the date night he and Emma went on once a week to help them with their communication and rejuvenate their relationship and feelings with each other.

Emma's POV

Emma was getting ready for her and Neal's weekly date. Mary Margaret had insisted on helping her with getting ready for her date. Emma decided to let her even though she thought it was weird since Emma and Neal had been on many dates since they'd been back in the Enchanted Forest. But Emma let her do it, because she did want to spend time with Mary Margaret…with her mother. She realized the little girl in her wanted her mom to do her hair and help her dress. That was the other weird thing, Neal said dress as if they would dress in the Land Without Magic. He was insistent on that. It didn't bother Emma at all, she preferred 21st Century clothes to the Enchanted forest clothes. "Do you know where Neal is taking me?" Emma asked her Mom.

Snow did not look at Emma and focused on brushing and braiding Emma's hair. "I'm not sure, Neal doesn't confide in me where he takes you. I just heard from you that this is an important date, which is why I wanted to help you get ready."

Emma squinted at her Mom in the mirror they were in front of doing Emma's makeup and hair. "That's the best you could do?" Emma asked laughing. It's not that Emma didn't like surprised but Henry was extremely happy today, well for the last few weeks he was really happy. Everything she would walk into a room where there was Neal and Henry, they'd stop talking immediately. She didn't push because father son bonding but she had a feeling they were planning something for her. "Well, if we were in our old home, today would be the anniversary of the first day that we met and had drinks. So I guess that is really special. I've never had an anniversary date before you know? I mean besides my birthday; the only day I would do something special was Henry's birthday."

Snow smiled softly at Emma as she tied off her braid. "Well, I know your father and I have said it before but I do really think you may be able to get your happy ending in this world and I like that you are able to have anniversaries now. Snow looked at Emma when Emma turned around to stand up. "I think you're ready for your night. I know you are all about no more apologies, that we're together now but your father and I are so sorry we could be there to do the stuff we do now. I really hate that I didn't get to raise you but you became a beautiful young woman all on your own. I know you like to be independent and it's hard for you to let others take care of you but thank you for indulging me tonight. I hope tonight is great for you." Both looked over when they heard a knock on the door. "I have a feeling that's Neal for you. You can tell me all about tonight tomorrow if you so choose."

"Thanks Ma…Mom. See I'm working on it." Emma said smiling at Snow. She hugged her Mom then went to the door and saw what Neal was wearing. "Did I go back in time?" Emma asked laughing, looking at Neal. Neal was wearing jeans, a white wife beater, with his beat up shoes and the old red jacket. Neal was wearing exactly what he was when they met.

"Nope, I told you we needed to wear what we would in the world we met in. Shall we Definitely A car thief?" Emma laughed and looked back and saw Snow's confusion. "It's a long story, Yes, we shall Maybe a pervert. Bye Mom" Emma said as she walked out with Neal.

"When can I open my eyes Neal, you already showed me the house. So if you built another house for me, it's too much. I already have a house and a castle." Emma told him following Neal with no eye sight due to the blindfold he put over her, he did that because as he told her, she would cheat.

"Not yet, baby. A couple more steps" Neal led her to a place in the clearing where she could see all the decorations. "Okay, you can open them." He told her as he took off her blindfold.

Emma looked around and her eyes got as wide as saucers and tears of happiness filled her eyes. She saw the swings and basically a copy of the carnival type of thing they had went to the first day they had drinks. There were swings, there was the horse carousel, there were the game places where you could squirt water, where you could win big stuffed animals. "I…I don't know what to say, this must have taken you forever and it's just so sweet." As Emma turned to Neal still speaking "This was one of the happiest days of my life and I appreciate it so much…what are doing on the ground?" Emma ended with the question seeing Neal kneeling on the ground and a ring in his hand. "Oh…Oh me."

"Before you say anything let me get this out. I love you Emma. I love you more than anything…well except for Henry but I'm sure you understand that. You are the only woman I've ever loved. In all my years of living on this planet, you are the only person I've ever really loved. You found me when I was ready to just give up on life and you made me want to live. I know we've had problems; I know I have not treated you like the Princess you. I know I've worked with you and Henry on rebuilding the trust that I broke 11 years ago but my feelings for you have never changed and I wanted to marry you then and I still want to marry you. I wanted to go to Tallahassee with you. But maybe now here we can have our Tallahassee. Emma, I know we can't start over, but maybe we can begin again and create a new ending. Emma Swan…Will you do me the honor of marrying me?"

Emma's tears of joy that had been welling up when she saw the clearing filled as if they were back in Portland, were now streaming down her face as Neal spoke. Her Neal, who was never that much of a talker, as much as she wasn't a talker, Neal was less of a talker than she was. She had been waiting for this forever, waiting for this family that she searched for and Neal had been that and yeah he had left and it had broken her heart but she now knew the story behind it and she decide when they got her to let the past go. "Oh, Neal…I…Yes, I want to marry you. I'd love to be your wife. I…have no words" Emma let Neal put the ring on her hand and then brought him up for them to share a kiss. "So this is why Henry's been so excited…wait did you tell my mom and dad you were going to propose, that's why she wanted to help me get ready."

"Yeah, I did. Well I did go to them for a blessing not permission because I know you don't need them to give permission but in this world and you are the princess blessing is proper and well I know they had a problem with me too which I was not surprised. Do you like your ring?"

Emma chuckled "I haven't even really looked at it yet." Emma's eyes moved down to examine the ring on her hand. "Oh…wow." Emma's ring had a diamond in the middle then there were some spaces connecting the center diamond to the diamonds on the outer ring circling the web like spaces that seemed to connect the ring together. "It's like…an it's an interesting design."

"It's like a dreamcatcher, that's what I was going for but if you want a different one, I will get you a different one." Neal told Emma as they looked at the ring together. Emma brought her hand up to her heart covering the ring "No! Mine now. I love it, a dreamcatcher ring. It's beautiful and so is this area."

"Regina and my father helped me. Using magic to create these and to make the lights work." Neal told Emma. Emma looked at Neal "I'll have to thank them the next time I see them." You could thank them now, Neal told her with a pointed look.

Emma looked at him confused "what do you me… oof" Emma looked down and Henry had run out from somewhere and hugged her "I'm so happy you said yes Mom! We're like a proper family but of course I have an extra Mom but that's so awesome." Emma smiled hugging Henry "Thanks Henry." Then as Emma looked around she saw many of their friends coming out and staring to play the games and play on the rides. "What…"

Snow and David came up to Emma. Snow spoke first "Can I see the ring; he would not let me see it at all until you saw it." Emma smiled at David and Snow, "Sure but…" Emma continued to look around. David decided to speak up "I hope you're okay with this, Snow said if you said yes she wanted to do an engagement party but we also know that you don't like to be the center of attention that much. So when we knew how Neal was proposing, we proposed the idea that we all come and this can be your engagement party. We hope you're okay with it." David said as he took Emma in his arms and hugged her. "I think that great, thank you both." Emma then gave her hand to Snow so Snow could look at her ring. "Isn't it pretty? It's meant to be like the dreamcatcher, and when we found the dreamcatcher the first time, that's when we decided to go to Tallahassee and have a permanent home" Emma told Snow and David.

Emma looked at Neal "I hope you know, that you have a lot to live up to in furture anniversaries after today." Neal laughed and glanced down to Henry then back up to Emma "I think I can handle that, especially with my number 2 here."
