Theme 9: Winter Wonderland
It's my brother's birthday today! I love you big brother! (although you annoy me sometimes) So it's special!

"Later on, we'll conspire, as we dream by the fire,
to face unafraid, the plans that we've made,
walking in a winter wonderland."
"We're nearly there. I know I've seen this place before." Heiji said.
Kazuha rolled her eyes. "You've been saying that for the past 20 minutes. We're lost, Heiji."
"Then why did you follow me?" Heiji said in irritation.
"That's because I know you'd get caught up in some trouble or something." Kazuha retorted back.
It was almost quiet in the white forest as they plodded through the snow, their footprint leaving deep impressions behind them. Kazuha shivered as she looked around, trying to find a telltale sign of the resort. They had been walking around for 30 minutes and the sun was already high up in the air, making the small particles in the snow glitter.
"Ne, Heiji."
"Hm?"
"What are you going to do after we graduate?" Kazuha asked.
Heiji didn't pause as he brushed away a tree branch. "Go to Toudai and become a detective. Duh."
"Oh, right." Kazuha knew that Heiji had the ability to get into any university he wanted. She just realized that by being a genius, he would go somewhere far away. Away from home and away from her.
"How 'bout you?"
Kazuha startled at the question. "What?"
Heiji repeated his question. "How 'bout you? What are you going to do after graduation?"
Kazuha bit her lip. Well, one of her goals was to confess to Heiji after graduation. But concerning her future, she hadn't thought much about it. "I don't know."
A silence settled between them as they walked on. Heiji broke the silence, "You should come with me."
Kazuha stood rooted on the spot. "Wait, what?"
Heiji stopped and turned to look at her. His cheeks and nose were red. From the cold or embarrassment, she didn't know. "You should come with me. To Tokyo."
"I'm not as smart as you Heiji." Kazuha said.
"Ahou, I didn't say to follow me to Tokyo University. With your grades, I don't think they'd even let you through the gates."
He received a snowball on the face for that one.
"Ahou." Kazuha grumbled. "Then what are you saying?"
"Well," Heiji scratched the back of his neck, "we've been together since forever, so it wouldn't hurt to be with each other a little longer. I mean, it'd be really boring without you ranting at my ear."
He received another snowball on the face. When he wiped it away, Kazuha was smiling at him. "You must be an M, huh."
"Ahou!" Heiji said. "I'm just saying I want you to come with me!"
Kazuha turned red. They stood there for a while, their faces steaming. Finally Kazuha said, "W-Well, looks like I have no choice. I need to keep an eye on you."
And with that, she walked past him and to the direction where she saw smoke coming off from a chimney, knowing it was the resort. Heiji grinned and followed behind her.
Even though obstacles faced their way, be it from an external force or inner problem, they knew that would still be together. Together next year and the year after that and the year after that.
Happy birthday to my big brother! Although you're studying far away, I know we'll always be connected! Have a great year and good luck in your studies! And to all off you dear readers! Have a great year!
See ya'll tomorrow!
