Tears streaked down April's face, he was gone. She was only sixteen, how could she know what love is? But you knew it was love when you here the sound of your own heart breaking, ripping in half leaving deep scars that may never heal. She looked out her window, her warm breathe fogged up the view, even if she could see it through her teary eyes she wouldn't want to.
Casey Jones was no longer there to throw pebbles at her window, no longer there to brush her tears away, even if he caused them, or to hold her in her times of need. He was gone, he had left, moved away.
They had stuck with each other, through thick and thin but now the road seem to hard and to long with no light at the end of the tunnel. They were through, there relationship seemed more strained and more hurtful then fun and full of love. So he left, for her. April closed her eyes and remembered his last words to her.
"I won't hold you down anymore Red, you deserve better then me, way better. You deserve to be with a man who can provide your every need, who will make all your wishes come true, I love you and this is why I have to let you go."
Her heart twisted and bended at the thought of his words. Her eyes closed and she opened them wishes and praying to see him standing there, but he wasn't. She wanted to wake up from this nightmare she had to call life but she couldn't, April O'Neil felt meaningless.
Two Years Later
April walked up to the Midtown skating rink, she spent a lot of her free time there. It was a great thinking place, it filled her with painful reminders but also it brought back all the good memories. It was usually empty at this time but no, someone, a young man rather, was in the rink, "Oh sorry, I thought all the skaters left," April began to back out.
"Red? Is that you?"
That familiar voice struck her heart, making old scars bleed and tears flow, "Casey?" April choked.
He took his hockey mask off and grinned, that familiar broken smile, "It's good to see you April," He voice seem to change as the awkward silence fell between them.
"You too," She began backing up to the door.
"Leavin' so soon? Ya just got here," He jumped the side rails and stared down into her splintered soul.
"I can tell when I'm not wanted around," April whispered.
Casey stared shocked, "Well your not real good at it."
April's first thought was, 'You want me around?' but nothing came out of her mouth.
"Wanna go grab pizza?" He sighed, "I'm buying."
"No, it's okay," April shook her head.
"Please," His brown eyes sparkled.
A smile slowly etched across her face.
"That's my girl!" He smirked, "Let me go get my gear and we'll head off."
'His girl?' April pondered, "Sure," She just nodded.
When Casey came out he asked, "You walk here?"
April nodded.
"Good," He pointed out front, "My rides out there, ready?"
April closed her eyes and looked up, "Okay."
Casey came out and what was parked out front was a beautiful black and grey Ducati.
"Nice wheels Jones," April smirked.
"Yeah better then that old bike I had," Casey got on and passed her his helmet, "Only one helmet."
"Well your old bike had personality," April put the helmet on and sat down.
Casey shrugged, "Well you are right about that, hold on tight," He revved up his engine.
Casey held onto his waste, gripping him tightly as they rode, it felt right, sadly she couldn't have it.
Pulling up to the Pizza Plaza Casey and April went inside took there seats.
"Triple meat pizza with stuffed crust," Casey ordered.
"My favorite," April sighed.
"You wouldn't think I'd forget, do you?" He asked.
"After two long years, yes," She admitted.
Casey shifted uncomfortably, "So, you got a boyfriend or something?"
"Or something," April forced a laugh, "I'm not into relationships anymore."
"April, I gave you up so you could be happy," Casey choked, "Find someone who could make all your wishes come true."
April and Casey's eyes locked, "Casey Jones you are my only wish."
Casey's eyes fell down cast, "I know I've done wrong, I left your heart torn. It's unforgivable, I stole and burnt your soul," He then looked back up at her, "I need to know now, can you love me again?"
