Hi. So, I'm still here. I know it's been forever since I last updated. I am extremely sorry about that. There's things I could blame my long absence on, but honestly, it was mostly laziness and not wanting to write these stories. I am really, really sorry. I will try to be more regular about updating now. If you're still around, you are an amazing person. Again, I'm so sorry.

Chapter 9
Hours after Bobby's call, the Winchester siblings pulled up in front of the town's only motel. Dean switched off the radio, then turned off the car. He looked at Sam, then back at Elizabeth. Both stayed silent, Eli still angry and Sam's face holding hints of guilt. He sighed.
"Oh, this'll be fun." Dean muttered, getting out of the car.
The group went to the check in desk of the motel, each holding a duffel bag.
A teenage girl sat behind the desk, looking extremely bored. Dean couldn't blame her, there didn't seem to be much to do besides stare at the walls, which were covered in horrible flower wallpaper. In fact, the whole town seemed incredibly dull. Dean almost doubted that anything supernatural was going on here. But Bobby was rarely wrong, so Dean knew there had to be something going on somewhere in the small town.
After Dean got the room key, he and Sam headed off for Room Three. But Eli didn't follow. She stepped forward and spoke to the girl. After a moment, money and a room key changed hands and Eli walked past her brothers to Room Four without so much as a glance.
"Okay, then." Dean commented, unlocking the door to their room and opening the door.
Everything in the room was extremely dusty, the tables, the chairs, the couch, the beds. With an inspection of the bathroom, Dean found it was in a similar condition.
"Wonderful." Sam said sarcastically, dropping his duffel bag on the couch. A small cloud of dust rose and settled once again, causing him to choke a little.
"Oh come on." Dean whined, "Most crappy motels have the decency to be less crappy then this. And that's saying something."
Sam nodded, "Well, I'm going to go take a shower. Then we can get working." Sam grabbed clothes from his bag and headed into the bathroom without another word.
Dean knew that this case was going to be rough. Not just because they were dealing with the Mother of All and had no idea how to take her out, but because Sam and Eli would not be working together like they normally would. It would be tense and borderline unbearable.
A yell from inside the bathroom took Dean's attention away from his thoughts. It put him on edge immediately. Sam screaming was never a good sign. But how much harm could come to him in the bathroom?
"What's happening?" Dean yelled to his brother over the sound of the shower running.
"No hot water!" Sam called back, causing Dean to groan. This place really was horrible.

After both Winchester brothers had showered (Sam was right, there was absolutely no hot water), they brought Eli in to do some work. She had to be convinced, as she tried to talk them into starting tomorrow. Dean agreed with her, he had endured enough awkward silence for one day, but Sam wouldn't let them off easy.
"So, it seems like people have been disappearing too frequently for a town of this size. It began two months ago. There doesn't seem to be a pattern. Everybody is taken, old men, young girls, frat guys, you name it. And they've been taken from everywhere, homes, the streets, grocery stores. Something wants us off its scent, so it's staying random." Eli explained, sounding official.
"Eve." Sam replied certainly.
"Okay, who is this Eve chick?" Eli asked.
"She's the Mother of All Monsters. She came from Purgatory to try and take over the world. We ran into some of her 'children' a while ago. I named them Jefferson Starships. Because they're horrible and hard to kill." Dean smiled at his sister, still pleased with his joke. Eli rolled her eyes and looked back at the paper in her hands, but Dean could detect the amused smirk on her face.
"So, Purgatory's real, huh?" Eli didn't sound very surprised. She had been doing this job far too long for something like that to stun her.
"Yeah. It's where monsters go when they die." Sam told her.
"Wonderful." Eli said without emotion. She didn't even look up at Sam when he spoke.
"So if there isn't a pattern, how are we supposed to track the bitch?" Dean spoke up before Sam could do anything else. Dean could tell by the expression on his little brother's face that Eli had hurt him.
"We could go to the authorities tomorrow, see if they have anything we may have missed. Though I kind of doubt it." Elizabeth suggested.
Dean shrugged, "Why not?" Sam nodded his agreement.
Eli stood, dropping the piece of paper in her hands, an article about one of the disappearances, onto the table. "I'll see you guys tomorrow."
"Good night." Dean told her as she left the room, shutting the door behind her.
Sam sighed from beside Dean. Dean could tell it wasn't from exhaustion, that Sam was upset. Dean patter his brother's shoulder comfortingly before standing up and walking over to his dusty bed. Dropping down into it, he coughed several times before the dust settled and he could drift off to sleep.
