Téa stood outside the door while she waited to hear the organ start to play. She nervously played with a bead on her gown until Mokuba locked his arm with hers. They got in line behind Vlad and Sophie, Mai and a business partner of Kaiba's, and two child vampires who were acting as the ring bearer and flower girl. The music started to play and Téa lowered her wedding veil and her head. Mokuba felt her begin to tremble. He squeezed her hand and whispered, "My brother will treat you right Téa. I promise." She nodded and took a step forward.

As they walked down the aisle, Mokuba looked up at his brother who had yet to turn around. 'Maybe he is nervous too,' he thought to himself. As they got closer to the judge, Seto finally turned around and was blown away by Téa's beauty. Mokuba handed Téa off to his brother and whispered, "Good Luck Big bro." Seto then took her hand in his own, suddenly feeling inadequate and asked in a whisper, "Do you think you could ever love a man like me." He raised her veil to look her in the eyes and saw that she was crying. Kaiba couldn't tell whether it was sad or happy tears, but she nodded to his question. He looked down at his feet and thought to himself, 'I have to know for certain.' So, he did the one thing he hated most, he read her mind.

***Téa's thoughts***

'Seto looks so handsome today… I just wish my friends could have been here.' He noticed her frown as she thought, 'They probably wouldn't have come anyway because of Seto. I accept him as my husband…I just hope that they will too…Man I wish I would have peed before I got in this dress.'

Kaiba chuckled at her last thought, but wondered how her friends were going to react when they heard the news. He wiped away a bead of sweat on the back of his neck and thought, 'at least she is not having second thoughts about me.'

The judge then cleared his throat and started the ceremony, "Dearly beloved, we are now gathered here to…"

Kaiba held her hand still as he said his vows and slipped the ring on her finger. He looked up at her and gave her a rare smile. She smiled back and the judge said, "Now, by the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."

He pulled her closer and leaned forward, giving her a chaste kiss on the lips.

After the ceremony, they waited until most of the people moved to the room where the reception was being held. Téa grabbed Seto's hand and pulled him in a room to speak to him in private. Kaiba crossed his arms and asked, "What's wrong?"

Téa shook her head and said, "Nothing, I just wanted to tell you that despite the strange circumstances to lead our marriage, I am eternally grateful that it happened. I know that Vlad doesn't consider me worthy of being your bride, but I will work every day to hopefully prevent you from feeling that way about me. I do care for you Seto, and I hope that our unity will be a happy one."

Kaiba nodded and grabbed a bottle of champagne sitting in a tray by the door. He poured her a glass and replied, "Don't worry how other people view our marriage. The only people that matter in this are you and me." She took a sip from her glass. "I am glad that I called about the dress. You look beautiful," he said as he was making his drink.

Téa made a face. He assumed it was just shock from his compliment until she slapped the glass out of his hand. He looked at her confused and saw her face look white as a ghost. She gasped for air and collapsed on the floor. "Téa!" he yelled, before running out the door to get some help.

Everyone at the reception was waiting for the bride and groom. Kaiba ran in and called out to Vlad, "I need your help! Something's wrong with Téa!"

Vlad, Sophie, Mokuba, Mai, and James followed Kaiba to where Téa was laying on the ground. She was holding her throat and desperately trying to breathe. Kaiba held her hand while Vlad looked her over, that's when he noticed a speck of silver on her face. He looked over to Kaiba and said, "Pour me a glass of that champagne." Kaiba looked at him curiously but did as he was told. When Kaiba did, he noticed something he didn't see before, "Silver…There is silver in here!" he said angrily.

"Just as I thought," Vlad said. Vlad picked Téa up and carried her over to a couch. He then turned to Seto and said, "There is nothing we can do, except let it run its course. Right now, the silver is lining her throat, which is why she is gasping for air. The best thing you can do, is let her rest. She will be fine, once it passes through her system.

Kaiba nodded and picked her up, he turned to Mokuba and said, "As soon as she is well enough, we are going home. Thank you for the tickets, but I am afraid it is far too dangerous to go. Mokuba nodded sadly and Seto disappeared in a puff of smoke.

Seto reappeared in the bridal suite. He laid her on the bed and looked at her. She really did look like an angel in that gown… but that dress can't be comfortable to sleep in. He debated in his head, 'should I get her out of that dress or should I just leave her be. If I remove it, she might think I am trying to take advantage of her…But if I leave her in it, she will feel even more uncomfortable than she already feels.' He finally decided what to do. He grabbed his cell phone out his pocket and called Mai, "Get over here," is all he said before he hung up the phone. While he waited, he took off Téa's shoes and jewelry. Shortly after, there was a knock on the door and he let Mai in the room.

"What do you need Kaiba?" she asked.

Kaiba scratched the back of his head nervously and answered, "Look, I just called you because I need someone to help Téa out of the dress and into something more comfortable to sleep in."

Mai rolled her eyes and said, "You're her husband now. Why don't you do it?"

"I don't want Téa to be scared of me, thinking I took advantage of her. Our relationship is on rocky grounds as is." Kaiba answered.

Mai nodded and he stepped out the room. She smiled at Téa and said, "You sure hit a home run with this one Téa. I hope I get as lucky as you and meet someone who respects me like Kaiba respects you."

"How about Joey?" Téa said softly.

"You're awake?" Mai asked. Téa nodded and said, "It's just so painful, I don't want to move."

"Well, like Kaiba said, we have to get you out of that dress. Can you stand on your own?" Mai asked.

Téa tried and ended up toppling on the floor. Seto heard a crash and came running in. He helped her up and she whispered, "I trust you Seto."

With those words, Kaiba realized that Téa was giving him permission to help her.

"That'll be all Mai," he said. Mai left the room, while he helped Téa to a standing position. Téa couldn't stand on her own, so he had his arms under hers and allowed him to rest on his chest while he unzipped the gown. The gown slowly slid down her body making him feel stiff. He laid her down on the bed and slid the dress off her small body. Once the dress was off of her, he stood there for a moment to take in her beauty. Finally, he picked up her legs of the floor and placed them on the bed, before covering her with the comforter and said, "Get some sleep."

The next morning, Téa woke up to find a light blue chiffon dress laying on the bed next to her. She was feeling much better than the night before, but still a little weak. Téa heard the sound of water running in the bathroom, and assumed that Kaiba was taking a shower. Téa stood up and pulled the dress on left for her. The dress had long chiffon sleeves and fell slightly below her knees. As she admired the dress, she heard the bathroom door open, revealing a fully dressed Kaiba, drying his hair with a towel. When he saw her, he reached into his suitcase to grab something and knelt down in front of her.

Her heart started to race as she felt him pace his hand on her right leg and slowly push his skirt up, her eyes shut in response. Suddenly he stopped, and she heard something unbuckle. She looked up when she heard him chuckle lightly, looking amused. He was holding a strange contraption that he tied to her upper thigh. Confused, she tilted her head slightly and he said, "Sorry to disappoint, but I am only putting this on you. He then placed a knife in the contraption and explained, "Last night, you earned my trust when you knocked the wine glass out my hand. From this point on, you will wear skirts that go below your knees to hide this silver blade." He showed her the blade and said, "This will cut through a vampire's bones like it is butter, so be careful with it. You will wear this anytime you leave the mansion," he explained.

Téa looked up at him in shock. He was literally giving her something that could kill him. "Why are you giving me this?"

Kaiba explained, "If anything were to happen to you, I too would die. Until this battle with Gozaburo, you will literally be walking around with a target on your back. This will keep you safe."

Téa was going to argue, but she felt his hand creep higher up her dress. She shivered to his touch. He smiled and whispered, "I will protect you. I promise."
