"It has been done." Morgause smiled as she gave the news to her Master. He had given her a mirror, that could allow her to speak to him. She slipped it into a pocket on her cloak. Soon, very soon, the Pendragon would be taking his last breath's. That or he would be forced to watch her kill everyone he had ever cared about. She liked the sound of that last one, maybe she could think of something better, but for now she had to get the job at hand done.
"Get up, you filthy Pendragon!" Morgause shouted. A slumped figure stirred at her feet bound in heavy chains. Morgause kicked him when he did not stand. He grunted in pain, and slowly lifted his head.
"I told you, Morgause. I'm not Arthur. I'm his servant." The figure insisted.
"I know your his servant. But that does not mean you are not a Pendragon. Just because you share none of his blood, does not mean you are not one of them. You work for them, you speak with them, and you kill for them." Morgause walked around him, as she spoke.
"Where's Arthur, Morgause? What did you do to him?!"
"That's just what I was going to ask you, Emrys! And don't think you can escape, I got those chains from a very powerful...friend. No magic can escape them, and if the Druids are correct in saying that you are magic in human form, then good luck getting out of here." She smiled, and turned to leave.
"Just one more thing, this is my dear friend, Reorn. I hope you two get along." She walked out of the cell, smiling evilly. Merlin looked at the man who had come in. He was at least six feet tall, with dark hair and deep brown eyes.
"I am sorry. If I don't do this, she'll kill me. I am so sorry. Please, just tell me where you sent your friend, and she'll let me stop."
"I don't know where he is, I didn't send him anywhere. And even if I did, I would never betray him. Not as long as I live."
"Please, I don't know if I can do this. I have a wife, and children. I don't know how they will survive if I don't."
"I can't endanger my king. Do what you have to. Your family needs you."
"I can't hurt someone who has done nothing wrong." Footsteps echoed in the hallway behind them. Merlin whispered a few words, and suddenly, he was covered in bruises and blood. Reorn looked at him in horror, but Merlin smiled at him, and closed his eyes. Morgause entered the small cell.
"Well done, Reorn. I was thinking I would have to kill you today, or your precious little family. Did he say anything?"
"I-I-I no, he didn't." Reorn stammered nervously.
"Are you sure?"
"Positive." Morgause left, her stepped echoing across the cell. Reorn rushed over to Merlin, kneeling next to him.
"Are you okay? How did you do that?" Merlin smiled back up at him.
"Morgause said these chains wouldn't let any magic through. She is forgetting that nothing on this earth can hold me. The magic of the earth itself runs through my veins, and things that are made of the earth will not go against its nature. The world would not survive without magic." Merlin looked at the chains, eyes flaring gold. They disintegrated.
"Come on, Reorn, bring me to your family, and I'll put a spell on you that will protect you." Merlin climbed to his feet and walked out of the cell. Reorn followed, they ran through the prison, and when they reached the end of the hallway, Merlin thrust his hand at the thick stone wall, blasting a hole through it.
"Morgause probably heard that! Hurry up!" Merlin called back to Reorn, and they ran faster. Outside, it was night, and the wind blew ferociously against them. They ran to village next to the prison, and Reorn took the lead, showing Merlin where his family lived.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Reorn asked, staring at all the bruises that covered Merlin.
"What? Oh, I'm sorry." Merlin whispered a spell under his breathe, and the bruises disappeared.
"It was just an illusion spell. No harm done." Merlin smiled.
"That's good. I was worried that you were really hurt. This is my home." Reorn opened the door to a small house near the street. He and Merlin rushed into the house, and they were met by a horrible sight.
Chairs and tables were upturned, papers strewn across the floor, broken glass was scattered everywhere. Reorn walked in slowly, staring at everything in shock.
"Their gone. She must have taken them, and now that I have left, I have probably condemned them to death. My poor, poor little girl. And my poor Angel. They didn't deserve this." He sank to the floor and held his head in his hands. Merlin stood in the doorway.
"It's not to late. We can still save them. Stay here." Merlin left and closed the door, as he ran back to the prison. It wasn't very far, but it felt like a lifetime trying to get there. If Reorn's family was dead, it would be his fault. He reached the hole in the wall, and raced through the halls, trying to beat time. He heard footsteps coming towards him, and around the corner came Morgause. Merlin stopped in front her.
"What did you do with Reorn's family, Morgause!?" Merlin demanded.
"Nothing permanent, if that's what your asking, but... Let's just say he won't be seeing then for a long, long, time. There somewhere else now. And maybe not somewhere better." Morgause smiled.
"Where are they? Where did you send them?!" Merlin shouted with rage. How could she. How could she just rip apart families like it was her job to do so?
"I can't tell you that now, can I Merlin?"
"You're a monster!"
"Maybe so. But what are you Merlin? You've done wrong things to, have you not? With Freya, it was your fault. If you had only done more, she would still be here, and you would be living happily ever after with your one true love."
"How do you know about her?! How can you possibly know about that?!"
"I have my ways." Morgause turned to leave, but Merlin had plans of his own.
