Hey everyone I hope you enjoy this chapter, it is a little slower then my other ones but I can't have absorbents amount of violence happen every chapter, but I am trying to make sure that things move along in an exciting or at least not monotonous way. Thank you to those that have reviewed I really love it and to that awesome reviewer that told me to get this out! Also check out my new story, Deny Not the Call of Magic, it is a Loki story, because well he is just gorgeous. I shall abandon this story and I am sure many of you will keep me on track to doing so.

Tears seamed to be never ending on Clarke's reddened cheeks, her eyes were puffy, facial features contorted into a look of agony, as if someone had their hand in her chest, squeezing and twisting her heart. Shocked murmurs were going around the camps, faces were graces with the look of fear.

Adriana wanted Clarke to leave, her crying and wailing was making hard to analyze the situation properly. On the ground was her charge, Wells Jaha, blood soaked his shirt from an apparent neck wound but it was to dark to tell properly. Finn moved forward to pull Clarke from her friends body, and it was then that Murphy left her side to help Bellamy move the delinquents away from the scene and back to their tents.

Wells had been found a ways from camp, he was suppose to have been inside the drop ship with Clarke and the rest eating dinner.

Adriana moved up to the body, there was something off. She knew the look of the death. She examine the neck wound, her fingers probing at the cut, it was shallow, and blood was not seeming to have pour out of that area. Yes there was blood, but from the looks of it, the blood that had soaked her charges shirt was not from here.

The skin was still warm, if Wells had been dead for a while then he should have been cold, the nights chill would have stolen his body heat without a problem. Then she felt it.

A small fluttering underneath her finger tips. Adriana was sure that her finger tips weren't this sensitive. Her other hand touched against the other side of Wells's neck and she waiting. She felt the fluttering once more. He was alive. His heartbeat was slow, slow in a way it shouldn't have been if he had been bleeding out. Clarke would have missed it, she was to close, to emotionally attached to have felt the faint flutter of a heart beat.

Her left hand brushed against something hard, something that should not be behind Well's ear, she removed the object and brought it up to look properly in the light of her flashlight. It was a dart. Her knife was in her hand in an instant, eyes searching the dark canopy of the trees.

There were voices behind her, coming from the camp. She recognized Bellamy's and Finn's voice, and even Murphy had decided to come back, whether for her or to help move Wells she was unsure, what she did know was that she needed to get Wells back to the bunker, if he was alive he would need some medicine. She would let them think him dead, there was no reason to get hopes up.

The talking stopped as she tied Wells torso into a fashioned harness, "What the hell do you think you're doing now?" she ignore Bellamy as she crouched with her back against Wells and tied the same style of harness to her torso. Not ideal but it would be faster then dragging the male. "Wells is my responsibility I am taking him back to our camp." Adriana shifted forward, bringing the weight of Wells torso with her before shakily making herself stand. Wells was heavy, much heavier then herself, her heart was already pounding in her ears from getting up with all the extra weight, if it weren't for her insomnia and her recent rut with Murphy she might have been steadier and could endure the trek without a problem, but circumstances weren't on her side this time around.

"You aren't going anywhere Adriana" Bellamy went to pull Wells off but his hand was slapped away and pulled out her knife again, "try that again and you'll lose your hand Bellamy, why don't you make yourself useful and go build a fucking wall to try and keep those idiots safe like I've been telling you to." She began to walk away on shaky legs towards the bunker, it was a long walk and hopefully Wells would make it there alive, if not she will burn the body and collect the ashes in a container, something for the Chancellor to hold onto.

"Hey I'm coming with you." Adriana shook her head in irritation already, "No Murphy, you're staying in camp with the rest of them." She rubbed at her sore wrist, somehow, in the middle of what could only be described as violent sex, the biomoneters had come off, not surprising neither her nor Murphy noticed, a bit preoccupied at the time. Murphy, however, didn't retreat, instead he just kept pace with Adriana.

"I'm not letting you go out in the dark by yourself, if the grounders killed Wells so close to camp they probably won't hesitate to kill you out in the open." There was something aching to concern on the males scraped features, Adriana glared.

"Go back Murphy, I will break your leg if you follow me, besides I don't trust Bellamy to do what I said, make them build a wall." Murphy stopped for a heartbeat, she trusted him, trusted him in a way that she didn't trust Bellamy. The girl that would literally break his leg to keep him at bay trusted him to keep others safe, that was something.

"Will I see you later?" Adriana nodded, "But not for a day or two, make sure they build that wall Murphy." Murphy stood for a few minutes, watching the girl that he wanted in a unhealthy fashion walk away with a dead body, for some reason that sounded worse then what it should have. Murphy headed back, come early light he would wake everyone up, if Wells had been killed so easily then what's to say they weren't going to be just picked off one at a time, he needed to talk to Bellamy, they had to make some type of system to keep them from getting killed.

Adriana tried to keep pace, her mind numbing her body but after a while of walking her legs were shaking and she could not make them stop. The burning of built up acid had already passed and though her mind willed her body into motion she was sure that it would give out on her before she reached the bunker. But she had been counting on something that had hatched in the back of her mind, the dart.

A grounder had been there when Wells had been injured, but it had not been the grounder who had attacked.

A light thud sounded behind her, her knife was already in her dominant hand, the other ready to untie the one knot that united her body to Wells. She turned slowly, shining the light in the direction of the sound, heart beat accelerated already, prepared to release adrenaline at a moments notice.

From beyond the light there was heavy growling, a deep threatening rumble. A black nose on the tip of a silver snout emerge into the light, the head was in the shape of a wolf though this one seemed heavy with muscle for it's waist high height, the fur seemed thick and claws were black and thick.

Adriana's mind shifted through her options, any one of them would work, most involved an injury she might not enjoy and would hinder her from continuing her current objective. She shifted her shoulder, allowing for her dominant hand readying for a throw. The wolf like creature snarled and leaped, in her eyes everything seemed to go in slow motion, adrenaline was pounding threw her system and her arm released the combat knife.

The metal flew with an added boost but it's trajectory was never met. The wolf had dodge easily and kicked up dirt as it redirected itself into a sprint once more. Jaws were wide open ready to clamp down onto Adriana, her arm had come up in defense, better it then her throat.

Everything came back into proper focus, the animal no longer in the air in front of her. She blinked. The wolf had been run through by a large arrow. There was no movement for many seconds and then there was a thump.

He was there.

The grounder from before, a bow across his back. He was covered in clothing Adriana had not seen before and a mask. Though she could not see his face she knew it was him, what other grounder other then that whom had helped before her would help now and reveal themselves. Adriana went about setting Wells down, the adrenaline was almost burn out of her system and her legs would begin shaking with a vengeance soon.

"I know you helped him, and I need your help again, we have to make it to the bunker."

The grounder took up the unconscious boy after checking his pulse and sprinted through the foliage. Adriana quickly roped the wolf and started after the grounder, if she left it here something else would take it.

The time it took to get to the bunker was a record and both hastily made their way into the infirmary. Adriana quickly rummaged through the cabinets in search of what she would need. A blood transfusion was not something she was naive to. She would have a pint taken out regularly because she would later need it because of of her training or, as she later found out, on another person, O blood was rare on the ark and they always needed her type in stock.

It took her only moments to find a vein on her arm and one on the back of Wells hand, the grounder pulled her a seat and she sat with a heavy sigh.

"What the fuck is going on!"

Adriana looked to the door frame, Atom stood there, his knife out. Adriana put her free hand up and stood, "he helped me, it's the same grounder that helped us in the cave, Wells was attack and they don't have what he needed in the drop ship so I brought him here." Atoms eyes shifted from Adriana to the grounder he vaguely remembered.

"Is the fire still going in the main room?" Atom slowly nodded, "heat up your knife, we need to cauterize Wells wound, he has one on his neck, but there's another, find it and close it." Atom hesitated for a moment, his gaze shifted from Wells still body, to Adriana who was shaking, to the grounder whom he did not trust.

"MOVE ATOM!" Atom jumped startled, but he moved quickly to the main room. Adriana sat back down, the familiar sensation of numbness that started at her fingers began, she had always been a quick bleeder, she guessed that in this case it was a good thing. She closed her eyes to think.

Wells would need more than a pint of blood, but her left arm would never be able to give more than that if she was lucky, she always coagulated prior to filling the bag, her dominant arm was out of the question. Perhaps her thigh, there was nice vein there she was subjected to use at one point when coagulated almost instantly on both arms at one point. She was unsure if Atom knew his blood type, most people in the ark didn't, and if he was O+ instead of O- like herself they might just kill Wells.

It was the smell of burning flesh that brought Adriana out of what almost became sleep. Atom, with the help of the grounder, was closing the wound at Wells neck and one that she assumed was on his back, "he had one on his back, he should have bled to death, from the looks of it he was well on his way too."

Adriana did not comment, she needed to figure out how long she needed to stay hooked up, Wells needed a good amount of blood but Adriana could only give 3 pints maximum before it became a liability. She had another 10 minutes to go before her arm closed up, and she could stay for maybe a whole 30 on her thigh, that should get Wells out of the red and keep her in the green.

Lincoln, now done with his part began to head out, "You've helped us twice now," he stopped at the door frame and turned to look at Adriana, she sat with an air of plain exhaustion yet he knew she was dangerous, could feel if he hadn't seen it himself, "If ever we can return the favor we will." Lincoln nodded and disappeared into the darkness.

"We're befriending grounders now?"

Adriana glared at Atom, "this grounder knows where we hide, he saved my life, yours and his," she pointed at Wells with her chin, "he'd make a better ally then an enemy, and be quick to remember that." It wasn't long before Atom left, sleep calling to him, and Adriana sat in the chair till her arm began to itch, a sign of her coagulating. She stripped her pants before inserting the needle into the vein in her thigh, she cringed, the flesh there was a bit more sensitive then her arm, and somehow there were many deep purple bruises in the area, most likely from Murphy.

Adriana's head lolled back after a few minutes, exhaustion and blood loss catching her off guard and she passed out before her conscious mind could register that there was darkness.

Hey everyone sorry for the delay in chapter update it was a bit difficult writing this part of the story but Skyrim came to the rescue, and my oh so wonderful reviewer who told me to update. I'll be getting a lap top during black friday and so hopefully I will be able to set up an updating routine, remember my goal is once a week if not nag at me. Also I have been asked to have a beta reader take a look at my chapters before I put them up because of my spelling and grammar mistakes (something that would deter me from reading as well) but I'm not to sure, I feel like putting up anything I've written is a weight on my confidence and doing that might just make me have a break down of some sort (i'm just that shy) but I will definitely think about it and am trying my best to make sure what I publish is as correct as possible, but mistakes happen and I would love if you guys point them out to me. Nothing is worse then inconsistencies in my opinion. Thanks for reading.
