As I awake that next morning, chills racked up and down my spine from the previous night's events. I have no idea what that symbol means and I don't plan on enquiring anybody about it – maybe Allison or Scott's boss Deaton but that's it. Something about the way the Alpha (quite possibly my alpha) chased me last night still left me kinda sketchy and worried about the safety of my family. Stupid thing to do…leading him or her straight back to the house. At least Dad went back to work today, so he will be out of the house, but Eddy is here nearly every afternoon. I think to myself. I skipped school today because I wanted to check up on Stiles after last night. I knew that he was by himself with Jackson and god knows what could happen.

I laze about for most of the day, watching reality TV and eating and school would have just ended by the time my phone rings. I pull it out of my pocket and see that the caller is Allison. "Hey what's up?" I ask. "Alaska, you need to come pick me up now – Jackson's parents know he is missing, the police are looking for him – we have to warn Stiles." She hurriedly said. "Wha-how? I thought Stiles' said that he was going to text Jackson's parents?" Allison groans into the phone. "I don't know, Gerard told me, Hurry!" She hangs up and I race into my car and start the engine. I pull into Beacon Hills High 6 minutes later in record time.

Allison gets in and we head to the spot where Stiles is hiding Jackson in the woods. I wait in the car while Allison runs over to him and lets him know. As I observe out the window, Stiles looks confused for a second before registering the situation. He thrusts Jackson's phone at Allison. Allison runs over to me. "We are going in the van, can you follow behind us?" I nod and ignite the engine again. She runs back to the van and I see Stiles throw the phone out of the car. As we drive off, I take great satisfaction in running over it, crushing the stupid screen.

We drive Jackson do a different reserve a few miles away. There, Scott is waiting. We heatedly discuss the situation because Scott is adamant that something is missing. Stiles thinks the best course of action is to kill Jackson but Scott doesn't. "If we can save him, we should try." Says Scott, effectively cutting off the conversation.

Night falls quickly and soon it is dark. Stiles has left to find Lydia and Allison and Scott are sitting in Scott's car having some sort of romantic time together and today I don't feel like third wheeling so I tell them I'm going for a walk. "Be back soon." Says Allison "And be careful." Warns Scott. I laugh lightly. "I can take care of myself, besides I'm only going a little while. Watch Jackson please and have fun." I wink.

I decide to head east, and I feel the pine needles and twigs crunch beneath my Chuck Taylors as I steadily walk. As I do this, I feel my thoughts drift towards Allison and Scott and find myself yearning for a relationship like theirs. I've always kind of been empty since Mum died and I need something to fill that hole. I find my thoughts wonder to a certain person but I shake my head and say "No."

Agitated now, I start to jog through the thick underbrush. I pick up my pace and eventually collapse into a strangely familiar clearing. I stare at the poppies and weeds growing in the dirt for a while before I realise it's the same place that Isaac and I ran to that day we ditched school. That seems like forever ago. That's when I realised that I do miss him. At that moment, I hear a rustling in the woods behind me, I jump up and look around before my phone starts to ring. How the bloody hell do I have reception here? I think before picking up. "Alaska, Jackson's escaped."

Comes Scott's voice vaguely desperate. "I'll be right there." I shove my phone into my pocket and start to race back, looking back once to check I had no pursuers. Before long, I reach the reserve, where Stiles, Scott and Allison are staring at the empty van. "How?" I ask. Stile is the one that answers. "He ripped the chains off I broke the doors off."

"We have to tell them- mine and Stiles Dad." Groans Allison. "But how will we convince my dad?" Interrupts Stiles. Scott turns around and faces us, his eyes glowing gold. "He'll believe me." They head to the police station and I drop Allison off at Lydia's. "Tell me what you find out." I tell her. She nods and hugs me before jumping out and running inside. I drive home and crawl into bed. As I doze off, I hear a scraping on my bedroom window. I jump up and slide off the bed. I check outside and see nothing. Panting slightly, I lay back on my bed and struggle to regain unconsciousness, but to no avail. I didn't have a single minute of sleep that night.

At school the next day, I see Jackson walking around as if nothing ever happened. He didn't see me at all so I'm assuming that he doesn't know that I was there. However, when he walks past he sneers at me and his eyes glint with knowledge. I shudder at his gaze. I walk over to my locker and Allison comes up to me. "The word in the book that we thought meant 'friend' actually means 'master'. The Kanima seeks a master- which means that Jackson is being controlled"

She exclaims. "That doesn't sound good." I reply "How did things go for Scott and Stiles?" She bites her lip nervously. "I'm not sure yet, I haven't seen either of the today and they haven't replied to my messages." I frown. "That's odd, anyways on a lighter note, what happened yesterday with Scott?" At this, Allison blushes and smiles secretly which I find extremely amusing. "We just talked and stuff like that." She giggles. I laugh as well and arch an eyebrow. "Oh really? Nothing at all?" She smirks. "Well maybe something – but shh not here, my Mom and my Grandpa work at school."

I pull my long hair out its ponytail and shake it around, evenly parting the silky folds. "Enough about me – Isaac is staring at you." Says Allison as she wraps and arm around my shoulder. I look up and sure enough, there he is smirking at me. I roll my eyes and smile lightly, thinking of his relentless offer to be friends before reply saying; "He is not staring. Anyways, forbidden property." "Whatever you say." Allison states. "Anyhow, I'm going to find those boys. See you later."

As she walks away, I continue to pull books out of my locker. When I'm done, I slam it shut and stand face to face with Logan Ashfield. I jump in shock and drop all of my books to the ground. He bends down and picks them all up in one swipe, leering at the covers – "Jane Eyre, lovely." is all he says before handing me the books and leaning against the locker, his hands in his pockets of his expensive jeans as he smiles cockily.

"You really should stop dropping stuff in front of me – it's getting repetitive. If you want my attention, all you have to say is hello." Heat flushes to me cheek. "I wouldn't have dropped it if you didn't scare the crap out of me!" I blurt. He leans near my ear and purrs; "Are you scared of me Alaska?" I lean back and retort; "Dude, have you ever heard of personal space?" He steps back and raises his hands up in surrender.

"Sorry, but you still didn't answer my question." I shove the books into my bag and fling the strap over my shoulder. "No, actually. You don't scare me at all." That was a lie. Something about him scared the crap out of me. Logan cocks his head and stares at me unabashedly. "I have something of yours." He says before handing me my slightly cracked phone. I hold it up to him "Where did you find this?" How careless, I didn't even realise it was gone.

He lightly picks at his fingernails and shrugs. I was driving back into town and I saw it on the main road, and I thought 'Surely I can't leave this expensive phone on the dirty road' so I picked it up and discovered it was yours. And that brings us to now." I narrow my eyes at him, suspicious about his explanation. "What were you doing out of town?" He chuckles softly and looks down at me. "I could ask you the same thing. Why was your phone on the Beacon Hills Highway?" I shrug. "None of your business." I remark. "Then you have my answer too." He concluded.

"Well thanks for giving it back, I'll see you around." I say as I start to walk away. "Not so fast, sweetheart." Logan replies as he tugs at my bag strap, forcing me to turn around. "What?" I ask roughly. "You still haven't given me an answer to hanging out. I could take you out for diner sometime." Now it was my turn to laugh. "Okay we'll see, I'll text you." I tell him. His blue eyes sparkle slightly. "But you don't have my number." "I have a strong suspicion that you put it in there when you were 'finding out' who's phone it was." I retort tapping the phones screen. "You suspect right. I'll see you around." He says before turning around and strutting off.

I shudder slightly and look at my phone I scroll through the contacts until I see Logan's name. He is so…off. I think to myself. There's something not right with him – he gives me the creeps. As I look at the contact, I don't even notice Isaac standing behind me, looking over my shoulder. So I jump for the second time in 5 minutes when his voice rumbles behind me. "You're not actually going to go out with him are you?" He asks. "I-I don't know." I reply. "He gave you his number." "And you were eavesdropping." "Still, the dudes a creep - he is a well-known player here at beacon Hills. I don't think that you have been around long enough to realise that." For some reason, this pisses me off and I make a disgusted sound. "I can look after myself Isaac, I thought I made that clear the other day when you attempted to kill me. And it isn't up to you to judge who I can and can't hang out with."

"I know that Alaska, I'm just worried and you know that I'm sorry for that." I sigh. "I know, sorry I didn't mean to bring it up. It's just that it pisses me off that you're telling me what to do. " He smiles at this. "I'm not telling you what to do, I'm simply giving you advice like friends do." I groan. "About that, I think that you were right the other day – things are going to change. Now that we know Jackson is the Kanima we need to work together – including Derek and Scott, to stop him, and if we can; save him. So I will have to take you up on the friends offer if it means stopping the Kanima before it's too late."

Isaac nods thoughtfully. "I agree we need to work together in order for this to stop, has Scott talked to Derek?" He asks. "I'm not sure, I haven't seen him since last nig-." I'm cut off by the sound of grunts and flesh hitting flesh coming just doing the hall, near the locker room. Isaac and I look at each other and sprint through the people and stop at the hallway and look down a corridor where Scott and a shirtless Jackson just rolled out. Stiles and Erica are already there and at the same time we all race forward and grab a person – Stiles and I restraining Scott and Erica and Isaac doing the same with Jackson. As they snarl at each other Allison rushes out of the room and Matt, I think his name is – the school photographer strolls down too. Then (of course) Mr. Harris runs down and starts to yell. He drags his finger around the room. "All of you – detention, 3:00." Great.
