AN: I like to subtitle this one: Why You Shouldn't Take So Many Advanced Classes At Once. I originally planned more for this next chapter and I got about halfway but then school had to start up again and I've just been so busy. But don't worry, I'm going to finish this story, even if it is the end for me.

Disclaimer: I don't own RtWM. Or Seth.

Chapter 9

The group was on their way out of the little town of Stony Creek when the cab abruptly stopped. "What? No. No, no, NO! Come on! Sara? Sara, are you doing this?" Jack asked. "Sara I said-" He turned around and saw the big dog from earlier crawl into the cab. "Oh-hon no. Absolutely not. This junkyard us not coming with us. I'm done picking up stray passengers. Absolutely not!" His attempts were futile. The dog from the diner was already in the car and Sara's door was closed, shutting off anymore opposition to the newest addition. The dog laid across Jane and Sara's lap, his head on Jane's right thigh. She just gave Jack a shrug and smiled, oh well. He pressed down on the gas pedal and continued down the road.

A few minutes passed in silence, except for the engine and the dog's breathing. Then Jack asked, "So those are the guys from the highway, right?" Jane looked at Sara for confirmation.

"Yes." She replied, looking at Jane and then Jack.

"It is vital that you take us to their base of operation." Seth announced, completely out of the blue.

Jane turned to look at him. "You're kidding, right?" She commented. was he insane or something? Those guys were trying to kill them.

"You want me to take you to the guys that are trying to kill you?" Jack asked, just about at incredulous as Jane felt. " Let me explain to you how we do things here, on Earth." He started, "People who want you dead, you avoid. That way you - you know - stay alive." He said, lecturing the boy on proper human etiquette in this type of situation. " Make sense?" He looked at Seth, looking to see if the teenager understood.

"No one on your planet will 'stay alive' if we do not return to our plant. In order to return, we need our ship. Those men who are trying to kill us have stolen our ship." Seth explained. "Make sense?" He asked, challenging Jack to come up with something else.

"Where do you suggest we make our search?" Sara asked, on board with the idea of looking for their stolen ship. Jane was so not okay with this plan, like at looked like Jack wasn't all for it, either.

"I don't suggest we begin searching at all."He stated. "I do suggest that we go back to Vegas and I drop you off right were you got on." He looked at the dog lying on Jane's lap. "You too." The dog raised his brown head and looked up at Jack.

"It's just as I thought." Seth leaned across Jane and the dog. "No human is going to help us, Sara." He looked at Jack. "Especially not this one." Jane glared at Seth in disbelief. She was a human as well, in case he might have forgotten.

"Hey, hey. Easy on the human bashing, okay? Some of my best friends just happen to be human." Jack defended, looking at Seth from his place in the driver's seat. "And even if I were to help you , I wouldn't even know where to begin." He was starting to ramble again. "I don't know anything about UFO's or - or - or aliens or-"

"Who's Dr. Alex Friedman?" Sara asked, effectively cutting of Jack.

"She's actually someone who can help." Jack admitted. "And for the record, she happens to be human." He pointed out, looking at Seth as he started the engine. Jane snickered as she laid her hand on the dog's back.
