Okay here's the next

Name: Runic Soul

Human Age: 17

Gender: Male

Species: Pegasus

Personality: Runic Soul is introversive and won't go near civilization without his cloak on, which is understandable with his... condition... (See 'History' for more details), and loves to try and create new Runic Spells whenever he can. He is highly observant and slightly paranoid because of extreme discrimination against people like him (First time he went into a town without his cloak on, he was run out within the hour by an angry mob.) One of the biggest parts of his personality is his severe hatred for Celestia since it was a law she passed that put Runic Magic at the same level of 'Dark Magic' as Necromancy and Demon summoning. (Ironically enough, he's actually her son, but neither of them knew until Celestia found a picture of him when reading his 'criminal profile' seven months ago, and set out a reward for him along with patrols to find him. However, he thinks that she wants him alive to execute him personally, and now reacts violently to any patrols he comes across along with any mobs that come after him.) However, he understands that he is weaker than her, and won't attack until he comes up with something to even the odds. He also loathes any magic that usually affects the mind permanently, such as memory spells, compulsions, and especially lust-based magic.

Appearance: Runic Soul is slightly smaller than the average stallion, and has a neon blue mane with his coat being dark gray, his right wing white and his left wing being black. His entire body is covered in runes with the ones on his body being light blue, on his left wing, yellow, and his right, red. His right eye is a vivid green while his left is all red and the pupil is replaced with the Truth rune (A balance scale), thus allowing for him to see through illusions and see magical barriers.

Cutie Mark: Runic's wings folded over one another and the four elemental runes in the four cardinal positions (Wind (A spiral) above, Earth (A pair of intersecting 'A's) below, Fire (A meteor) right, and Water (A trio of vertical parallel lines) on the left.)

Strengths: Highly Adept in Runic Magic, well-adapted for undeveloped wilderness, especially forests, very fast, immune to strong illusions that affect the general or moderate mind magic affecting him personally, and will only go down taking dozens with him.

Weaknesses: Can't fly more than 10 meters off the ground due to a long-term curse that affected him personally, partially blind in his left eye, his Runic Magic takes a while to charge (5-20 sec.) and must be triggered vocally, severely hates Celestia but doesn't know of his heritage, if this is revealed to him he might break down, but will most likely go into a berserker rage.

Important History Points: Was left at Canterlot Orphanage by Celestia to protect him from assassination attempts at 3 months old, adopted at age 2 by Thunder Splitter, a former Wonderbolt pegasus, and Snowsweet, one of the Apple Family, and given the name Cloudpiercer. At age 10, Cloudpiercer discovered a tome about Runic Magic with his cousin, Applejack, and his friend Lyra Bonbon. When they attempted a spell, though, it rebounded and he took the sheer brunt of the blast to protect the others and mutating his inner magic to use Runic Magic only. However, the blast alerted the citizens of Manehatten to their location and upon arriving at the site, thought that Cloudpiercer had attempted to kill the two fillies and chased him out of town with the mob being led by his parents, who called him a 'demon-foal', and he lost his left eye and his gift of flight before he escaped into the Everfree Forest, where he renamed himself and spent the majority of the time living in an abandoned outpost and studying until age 14, where he saved a male unicorn (Rarity's dad) from a pack of timberwolves and got a cloak in return as a gift, which he quickly applied a series of runes to it until the finished product both concealed his face better and released an aura to keep anypony from wanting to see under the hood. (The last bit of his history is in the Personality)

Equipment: 'The Tome of Equestria's Ambient Magic', which he uses as his teacher for Runic Magic, and his cloak.

Here we go.

The sun shone high in the sky while the young colt walked through the bustle of Appleloosa. Weaving through the crowds of ponies on the dirt road, Runic Soul made haste towards his target. He could see the saloon at the end of the avenue and quickened his pace as he neared it. Cloak wrapped tightly around his body and hood hanging low over his face, Soul pushed through the doors and was met with an uneasy sight.

Crooks, thieves, cutthroats, and murderers wanted all throughout Equestria were packed into the one building. His heart hammered as he walked to a distant corner of the saloon, his rune-covered body just close enough for his cloak to breeze past them. With a quick glance to his right, Soul noticed a table full of bounty hunters he had alluded in the past, recognizing each and every one of their scarred, pockmarked faces as they scowled at each other from across the saloon. Holding his breath, Runic Soul put in a spring in his step, and reached where he was supposed to meet the contact, at a small booth crammed into the North-West corner of the tavern. As he stood a good distance away from the front of the table, he could see his contact eyeing him suspiciously from his seat, two Royal Guards protectively beside him. That didn't bother Soul as much at what he could see surrounding the booth; with a glance with his enchanted left eye, he could see a bubble of magic surrounding the space. The thing that irked him was that it was runic magic, the same kind he used.

"Runic Soul?" The stallion inquired, his voice a bit too loud for their current location.

Soul slid into the seat opposite of him, his hide tingling as he passed through the alien magic field, "Indeed, but for the love of all that is good, please keep your voice down."

The stallion grinned, he was piss-drunk, "Sorry, a bit bombed at the moment. Now, may I ask to see your face? Just want to confirm you're the one I'm supposed to look for." Soul winced, his runes allowing him to shroud his face with magic so that no-pony could recognize his face. In places like these, it was the perfect spell to keep himself hidden.

"This is a place no-pony wants to show his face." Soul whispered, looking straight at his contact, but his magic kept his face blurred to the view of the other.

"Right, my apologies, but I forgot my manners," He extended his hoof, Soul took it, "Name's Dual Presence, Royal Magister and, well, I have a lot of titles; but let's just cut to the chase: I heard you need some 'assistance.'" Soul's hoof froze up in the stallion's grasp at the mention of the word 'Royal', Presence noticed, "Something wrong?" With a sudden snap, Soul's hoof was withdrawn into his cloak.

Dual's face suddenly sobered up, he leaned in, his face a mask of concern, "Are you alright?"

Soul slowly looked up to catch Dual mutter, "Revelet deus absconsa tua." Then, the shimmering aura around his face dissipated, his left eye of balance focusing on the three that were before him. The two guards behind Dual had a soul outline of dark purple, almost black glowering deep inside their bodies.

"Necromancy." Soul whispered, his voice whistling with fear and awe at the same time. Dual slowly put his forehooves on the table, showing he had on leather gloves. Gradually, he pulled them to reveal white wax had been seared in runes all overs his limbs.

"Indeed," Dual replied, his voice matching Runic in tone, "Now, as I can see clearly, you and I are both runic magic users." With a gesture towards the two apparently undead guards, they withdrew farther away from the table, "So, I guess what you seek is something for your runes?"

Runic nodded frantically, "Precisely, I've had a copy of 'The Tome of Equestria's Ambient Magic' for a good portion of my life. I've nearly learned everything there is to know from it. So, I'm putting my life on the line by coming into contact with another pony to learn more about runes."

Dual rubbed his chin thoughtfully, and then quickly pulled his gloves back on, "Yes, for non-unicorns like us, I feel that runic magic is a fair alternative. Working under Celestia's wing and be using magic that is considered illegal is a risk, but it's worth it in the end." He leaned forward, a smug grin on his face as I got a better look at him; a stallion in his third decade, his red eyes lighting up against his ash-gray coat, his mane a messy black mess on his head as he watched me.

"Do you have anything that might be of use to me? I will pay beyond what is necessary; after all, leaving deep in the forest has no use for currency." Soul replied, his attitude from shy and reclusive, to extremely enthusiastic about the thought of a new tome.

Chuckling for a moment, Dual face gradually dropped, "Unfortunately, friend, it is not here, but in Canterlot. I stole it from the Private Archives as excited as you are now to learn more about runes. It served me well, and within time, I am where I am now thanks to it."

Soul's eyes flitted to the two guards watching the conversation take place from a few yards away, their emotionless eyes fixed directly on him, "Is that how you learned how to raise the dead?"

"Yes, that, and much more. To be honest, I don't see why earth ponies and pegasi using magic is such a big deal; after all, below the alicorns sisters sit a council of mostly unicorns. So, you can see why the subject is rather hard to bring up." Dual explained casually, not taken aback at all by the company they sat near.

"I've been chased out of towns for as long as I've remembered; ponies have told me my magic is 'dark' and 'evil' to them, but I never see it as different as the magic unicorns use." Soul responded, his feelings exactly the same as the stallion he sat across from.

"Have you ever heard of Karthus the Shadow Alicorn?" Dual asked suddenly, his eyes watching Runic carefully.

"No," Soul said after a moment of consideration, "I've never had the chance to lean much about history."

Dual nodded sympathetically, "He isn't mentioned much in the books anyway, he was similar to King Sombra, if you are familiar with him," Once Soul gave a quick nod, he continued, "Karthus lived in the Frozen North, deep in the tallest mountains while buffeted by the harshest of weather. He ruled over a fortress lost to time that was once known as Frost. Anyhow, it was said that a younger Sombra stormed the place on his own, destroying the city and killing Karthus; leaving him and his fort to rot in the cold, forgotten by time."

"Not to be rude, Mr. Presence, but what importance does this have to runes?" Soul asked impatiently, wanting to get his new tome.

"Well," Dual said, a malicious grin on his face, "Using the knowledge of the tome, I resurrected him; well, in a decayed, physical state, but I managed to tether a soul of another to his form; he is now another valuable addition to my arsenal." The story didn't seem very convincing to Soul, who sat in thought as Dual had talked. Now, the idea of such power intrigued Soul, who thought of it the perfect way to get back at the ones who had tortured him his entire life.

There was a long moment before Soul spoke, "You said the tome is in Canterlot?"

Slamming a shot of his drink on the table, Dual nodded briskly, "You heard right, but I'm guessing you're not too keen with going near the most populous city in the country?"

Soul kept quiet as he nodded his head, allowing Dual to continue, "I want to be honest with you, Runic; the things you have told me about how you've been discriminated by the ponies you have met sickens me. I want to take you to Canterlot, as my political envoy for this cause. I do not fear Celestia in the slightest, so I'm willing to ensure that we bring rightful justice on the ones who have doubted your gifts; no matter the cost." Runic trembled with excitement; it was the first time he would ever go into a civilized place without having to hide his identity and not be chased out by an angry mob.

Presence noticed his joy, "Once we file an appeal to the Royal Council, I'll make sure to find an ample home for you without being bothered by anypony again. Trust me with this." Suddenly, Dual Presence stood, his eyes locked on the entrance to the saloon. Runic turned; his runes shrouding his face once more as he turned to watch a stallion slightly older than him approach Presence. His red eyes peering out from his long, matching colored dreads as he locked eyes with Presence and quickened his pace. As he approached, Soul noticed the Solar Symbol stitched to the white hoodie he was wearing.

The two stallions saluted each other as the newcomer began to speak, "Good to see you, Magister."

"As to you, Bass, as to you. What brings you here?" Presence asked, a casual smile on his face. The stallion named Bass opened his mouth to speak, but his eyes flitted over to Runic, who was watching the exchange with curiosity. He gestured over to the nearby bar, signaling he wished to speak with Presence alone. He walked away, expecting Dual to follow. Presence glanced back at Soul and gave him a reassuring nod before joining the newcomer at the bar. Sidling up to Bass, Dual watched as the stallion ordered a drink.

He decided to start through small talk, "So, how's your sister?"

Bass chugged his drink before grunting, "She's fine; but that's not the point, Magister. I'm here on a mission from Princess Luna."

"Really?" Dual replied, intrigued about Bass's assignment.

"Indeed, apparently we've finally cornered a ruthless criminal who's been a thorn in the Princesses' sides for a very long time. He's said to be right here in this tavern." Bass explained, fishing around in his hoodie until he pulled out an official-looking envelope. He opened it and handed it to Dual who looked over the contents.

His heart seemed to stop as he recognized the photograph attached to the top. It was Runic Soul.

"This colt has done crimes against the Princesses?" Dual asked, the inevitable answer swirling inside his head.

"Yes, he is a practitioner of Dark Magics, sir. Wanted for the illegal use of Runes, among for the crimes he has committed with them." Bass explained, turning Dual's fear into fury.

"Is that so?" Dual snarled after a moment. He rushed away from the bar, heading straight for Runic.

"Hey, where are you going?" Bass cried, chasing after him, causing heads to turn at the sudden commotion. Dual didn't respond, heading straight for the colt who sat watching him in surprise.

As he neared, Dual quickly spat out, "Desine quo." With that, the world seemed to freeze as runes of time sizzled around him.

Without breaking his stride, Dual walked up to Soul and muttered, "Moveo olim amplius." Suddenly, Soul broke from his trance, looking up at shock as Dual Presence stood over him, the stallion gesturing for him to get up.

"You need to get out of here now. Head North, meet me as far as the Everfree goes in three days' time." Dual instructed, ushering for Soul to leave. Runic understood, galloping out of the saloon and heading North. As he ran there was a flash from behind; he looked back, seeing a beam of golden light come down from the heavens as it struck the tavern he had just been in. There was movement around him as ponies came outside, gazing in awe at the beam. Soul ran even faster, trying to escape so many ponies around him at once. He almost free when suddenly, there was a golden flash in front of him, revealing the stallion named Bass. He looked very confused, his eyes locking with Soul's as they stared at each other.

Pulling a photograph from his pocket, Bass checked it before looking at the pony he was facing down. Strangely, there seemed to be a haze around the pony in question's face, but the body seemed to match.

"Using your demon magic to hide your face, eh, freak?" Bass shouted. Suddenly, the haze cleared up, revealing the exact pony from the photograph: a dark-gray colt with a neon-blue mane; his regular green eye and rune-infused red eye glaring back at him.

"So it is you then?" Bass said, pulling his black katana from it sheath, the blade pointing threateningly at Runic. Soul didn't reply, walking forward as a sickly-green rune of a skull appeared in front of him, glowing with power.

Bass was nearly upon Soul, his blade flying through the air to strike him. Pulling back just in time, the tip of the katana barely passed by Soul as he leaped away. The attack sliced cleanly through the rune, causing it to fizzle out as Bass went for a second strike. Using his wings, Soul beat them backwards, escaping each swipe.

Thinking quick, Runic spat out a command as a rune of a silvery spiral appeared, "Ab inspiratione spiritus de ventus." The wind suddenly picked up as a heavy force hit Bass, knocking him off his hooves; the katana skittering away from the fallen stallion.

Soul made a leap for it, but was knocked away as a cyclone appeared, picking him up and throwing him into the distance. He grunted, pulling himself up as he noticed Bass struggling to rise as well. The two stared at each other, each of them going for the katana. Swiping with his hoof, Bass caused another cyclone to appear, heading straight for Runic as the colt thought of a new rune to try.

"Globus ignis." Runic shouted, the red rune for fire, which was the sign of a meteor, erupted with a blaze as it sailed straight into the cyclone.

The twister seemed to implode in a great explosion as the two combatants leapt through the thick smoke, each of them viciously punching other, trying to grab the blade that lay between them.

Trying to see clearly through his left eye, Runic never saw Bass's attack as it slipped through his blind spot. With a vicious punch, Bass sent Runic, back, grabbing the hilt of the katana in his teeth and swiping upwards, slicing through the colt's stomach, carving an angry red line. Collapsing on the ground, Runic tried to hold back his innards as Soul stood over him, holding the blade at the ready.

"Pray to your demons while you still can, pagan." Bass snarled through the katana in his mouth before holding it up high, ready to deliver the final blow. Leaping up, Runic headbutted Bass, cuasing the stallion the stumble back; nurturing a broken nose. Bass came back swinging, his sword's blade close enough to slice viciously into Soul's face, cutting a deep scar into his muzzle.

Faltering from fatigue, Soul managed to murmur the runic spell, "Madefacio apud torrentibus aqua." Causing the blue rune for water to appear, blasting the advancing Bass with a jet of pressurized liquid, knocking him to the ground.

The attack taking all of the energy out of him, Soul knelt there, the life in his eyes beginning to fade as he listened to the jeers of the townspeople mocking him from safety. He summoned all his anger and hate to the fore, willing it into a rune he was charging. Feeling the energy around him, he could see an orange aura shimmering around him as he willed the power into a single attack. Bass stood, drenched in water as he stumbled towards Runic, his katana's tip slicing through the dirt as the stallion approached.

"You know, I have a very close relationship with Princess Luna; so when she sent me down here to get rid of you, she told me a secret that was utterly unbelievable." Bass said, nearing the kneeling Runic, "I was told that today, in Appleloosa, would be slaying the very son of Princess Celestia." His grin taunting Soul, watching as the colt's face twisted in utter rage as he shouted a single word in response.

"Mortuus." He spat, the runes on his body spilling out all of the energy at once, the explosion destroying half the town instantly.

Runic stood on shaky legs, holding the massive wound with one of his hooves as he stumbled through the dense smoke, small fires crackling around him as he came to a stop at the remains of Bass. His body a charred mess, most of it had been burnt away from the force of the blast. Thinking about what Dual had told him about the power of runic magic, Runic concentrated for a few seconds as a black rune sizzled with the image of a bone. Then, it began to travel of wisps of energy towards Bass, slipping into open wounds in his body as the rune user whispered, "Tu numquid serviant in aeternum."

Waiting expectantly, Soul watched as the corpse twitched, the useless tissue coming back to life as the body stirred. Slowly but surely, Bass rose, his eyes glowing with faint silver orbs as he seemed to look for words, his exposed jaws opening and closing silently. Feeling a sinister grin creep onto his face, Runic turned to a slowly growing noise, its pitch growing in anger. He began to walk towards it, the reanimated Bass staying where it was, its jaws still moving. Suddenly, the smoke parted to show the survivors of Appleloosa gathering at the crater that Runic had made. Upon seeing him, they began to shout more obscenities, cursing his very being.

"It's the freak!" One of them screamed.

"Burn him! Avenge the fallen!" Another spat.

"For Celestia!" A third yelled. This put Runic on edge, his teeth gritting as he turned back to the crater, noticing Bass's katana lying shattered and broken.

Holding his hoof up to the blade, Runic muttered, "Reparatione." Watching as golden light began to encircle the pieces of the katana, picking it up and gluing it back together with the golden magic. Using his other hoof, Soul gestured for Bass to take the blade, watching as the corpse stood on uneasy, brittle legs as it limped over to the restored weapon. Leaning over with creaking bones, Bass took the hilt in his teeth.

Looking back to the angry mob, Runic waited for the usual fear and terror to sink in, but found nothing; only a dark, empty feeling. He pictured each and every pony before him as Princess Celestia as he heard an uneven shambling noise behind him. Without looking back, Soul knew it was Bass joining him at his side. He was correct as the undead stallion reached him, the repaired katana resting in-between his bleached bones.

"Occidere eorum omnes." Runic ordered, watching as his resurrected companion lurched towards them, katana glistening malevolently as it made its way towards the townsfolk, ready to kill.

Runic knew this was the turning point, he was old enough now, no more running, no more hiding; now, it was time to fight.

Runic Soul wins thanks to his extensive study of rune magic. Bass's blade, speed, and cyclone ability were good abilities to use in a fight, but they were no match for Soul's magical advantage that allowed him to use fire to give Rush a swift end.

So here's the form and I hope you submit. Bye bye!
