Chapter Nine: Cat Fight & A Day Out
"You've got to be kidding.", Clarissa said as she walked past Irma who jumped in front of her.
"I'm not kidding!", Irma snapped. "I've been wanting to kick your butt for a long time now! And now that you're a girl, I have the perfect chance for a fair fight with you! So let's do this!"
"I think she's serious.", Hay Lin said.
"She sure looks it.", Alchemy said.
"She's just angry.", Cassidy said. "Give her some time to cool off."
"Cool off nothing!", Irma said. "I'm serious about this! It's time Clarissa was put in her place! And I'm just the girl to do it!"
Clarissa looked at Irma and saw that she was indeed serious about fighting her. Seeing this, she took a deep breath and de-activated her Guardian powers and unstrapped her swords and took off her coat.
"You want a fight? Then you got one.", Clarissa said as she handed her swords and coat to Angela. "But first, some ground rules."
"Such as?", Irma asked.
"No powers.", Clarissa said. "At all. So no Guardian form for you."
"Fine!", Irma said. "Power me down, Will."
"Okay.", Will said as she pulled out the Heart and powered down not only Irma but herself and the other Guardians.
Seeing this, Cassidy and Alchemy powered down as well and joined the others in the stands leaving Irma, Clarissa, and Angela in the middle of the arena.
"You do know that you're going to pound the girl right?", Angela questioned as she transformed back to normal.
"Yeah.", Clarissa said. "But she's the one that asked for it."
"True.", Angela said. "Then do us both a favor. Beat her and beat her good.", she said as they pounded fist.
Angela then went up to the stands and sat next to Will.
"This ought to be interesting.", Will said.
"Shouldn't last long either.", Angela said.
"Why!? Because Clarissa's tougher?", Cornelia questioned.
"Well, that and there's the fact that Irma isn't the great fighter she claims to be.", Angela said.
"True.", Elyon agreed.
"Yep.", Cassidy said.
"Couldn't agree more.", Taranee said.
"Sorry, Cornelia.", Will said. "But Clarissa's going to beat Irma."
"We'll see about that.", Cornelia said under her breath as she and the others looked down at Irma and Clarissa waiting for them to start their fight.
"Last chance to back out, Rebel-Girl.", Irma said taking a fighting position.
"How does that make sense when you're the one who challenged me?", Clarissa questioned with her arms folded across her chest. "Let's get this fight started so I can beat you and relax afterwards."
"Why you...!", Irma snapped before charging at Clarissa.
Clarissa just stood there as Irma ran at her. Seeing this got Irma even madder thinking that Clarissa didn't think much of her in this fight. Once close enough, Irma threw a punch at Clarissa only for her to turn to the side and stick out her right foot tripping Irma causing her to fall to the ground.
"Oooooh!", everyone else said as they saw Irma fall to the ground.
"I know that hurt!", Alchemy said as Irma quickly got to her feet.
Once on her feet, Irma turned and glared at Clarissa who just stood there with her hands in the pockets of her shorts while looking up at the sky.
'Is she ignoring me!?', she thought to herself. 'She'll pay for that!', she thought before charging at Clarissa.
Hearing Irma's footsteps, Clarissa, who was still looking up at the sky, was ready for Irma as she jumped into the air just as Irma tried to do a roundhouse kick at her. When she landed, she gave Irma a smirk that got her really worked up as she ran at her throwing punches that Clarissa was able to dodge easily as she began to back away from Irma. Try as she could, Irma just couldn't touch Clarissa as she dodged the Water Guardian's punches by calmly moving left and right.
"Would you fight back all ready!", Irma snapped as she continued to throw punches at Clarissa who easily dodged them.
"Why do that when I can just tire you out?", Clarissa questioned as she continued to dodge Irma attacks.
"You know, I wish Clarissa would fight back.", Cassidy said with a tiring sigh. "This is getting boring."
"She wishes not to hurt Irma.", Halinor said. "Whatever Irma's reasons, she is angry about something. Clarissa sees this and doesn't want to fight her like this."
"So, she's going to tire Irma out instead.", Hay Lin figured.
"Correct.", Halinor said with a nod.
'Not if I can help it.', Cornelia thought to herself as she watched the fight between Irma and Clarissa. 'Time to spice things up!', she said as she began to focus her powers. 'Have to time this just right!'
Back in the arena, Clarissa was still backing away from Irma who was starting to get tired. Seeing this, Clarissa jumped a few feet from Irma surprising her.
"What's the deal!?", Irma questioned while panting and sweating.
"It's over, that's what.", Clarissa said. "You're tired, Irma. Let's just call it a draw and be done with it.", she said as she stepped back a bit.
'Gotcha!', Cornelia thought to herself as she used her powers to soften the dirt where Clarissa stepped on. 'Have a nice trip!'
"Whoa!", Clarissa shouted as she fell back from stepping on the soften dirt.
Seeing this, a smirk came to Irma's face as she lunged at Clarissa pinning her to the ground. She then placed her knees on Clarissa's stomach so she couldn't move and began to punch Clarissa in the face getting in some good blows. But Irma forgot who she was fighting cause Clarissa punched Irma in her stomach and then flipped her off of her and got to her feet. Once Irma got to her feet, she looked at Clarissa and smirked at the bloody nose and busted lip she gave her.
"Still think I'm weak!?", Irma questioned feeling pretty proud of her handy work.
"Never said you were weak.", Clarissa said as she balled up her fist. "But now you're going to see what I can really do.", she said as she took a fighting position.
"And now the butt-whooping begins!", Angela said as both girls ran at each other.
"This won't end well.", Will said knowing what was coming.
Once they were close enough, Irma threw a punch at Clarissa only for her to move to the left allowing her to pass her far enough to hit Irma with a kick to her gut and a punch to her left cheek causing Irma to stumble a bit before getting her balance. But before Irma could make another move, Clarissa dashed at her and hit her with a three hit combo to her gut, chest, and face knocking her back a bit. Irma got her footing and glared at Clarissa before running at her ready to continue. But Clarissa did a sweep kick causing Irma to fall to the ground and slide a bit.
"I think Irma should quite before she really gets hurt.", Taranee said.
"You know that and I know that.", Elyon said. "But we both know that she won't do it.", she said as Irma got up ready to fight.
"Then let's hope Clarissa can end this.", Will said as she saw Clarissa drop her fighting stance. "What's she doing?"
"No idea.", Angela said.
"I'm done.", Clarissa said.
"Give up, huh?", Irma questioned with a smirk thinking she got the better of Clarissa.
"Yes!", Cornelia cheered thinking Irma got the better of Clarissa.
"No.", Clarissa said as she scratched the back of her head. "I just rather this be over with before you get yourself hurt.", she said as she turned her back to Irma and walked away. "Later.", she said as she waved her hand while walking away.
It was then that Irma snapped and ran at Clarissa while letting out a feral scream. Clarissa turned around just as Irma jumped at her. Both girls then went tumbling around on the ground wrestling with each other. Irma reached out and began to pull on Clarissa hair as she had her in a headlock. Then she grabbed Clarissa's tank-top and pulled on it and ripped it exposing her white bra surprising everyone. Everyone watched as the two girls wrestled on the ground. They wanted to stop it yet wanted to see how it would turn out.
"Well, this is a predictable turn of events.", Kadma said getting a nod from the others as they watched the fight continue.
"Only question now is, who will win this fight.", Halinor said.
"I say Clarissa got this.", Cassidy said.
"Well I say Irma's going to win.", Cornelia said.
"Gee! I wonder why?", Angela questioned getting a glare from Cornelia.
"Let's just hope they don't get to badly hurt.", Alchemy said.
At this all but Cornelia nodded in agreement, but then they all winced as they saw Irma bite down hard on Clarissa's leg causing the girl to scream in pain before punching Irma in the face which gave Clarissa the opening she needed to put Irma in the sleeper hold.
"Uh-oh! Sleeper Hold!", Cassidy said getting excited.
"I think this fight is over.", Elyon said.
"Thank goodness.", Hay Lin said as she and the others watched what was happening.
As for Irma, try as she might, she couldn't get out of the hold Clarissa had her in. She swayed herself side to side waving her arms, but she couldn't get free of the hold.
'Just a little more.', Clarissa thought to herself as she felt Irma drop to her knees. 'Just a little bit more.', she thought to herself as she felt Irma go limp. 'There!', she said as she laid Irma down on the ground.
"Well, that was... interesting.", Kadma said as she and Halinor sat in their seats while the others went down to check on Irma and Clarissa.
"Very interesting.", Halinor said as she and Kadma both looked at Cornelia knowing what she did earlier. "Think we should tell the other about what Cornelia did?"
"No.", Kadma said. "For the child wouldn't care about what the others had to say. But sooner or later, she'll be set straight."
"I only hope she doesn't do something that'll cause her to lose something she may not be able to get back.", Halinor said.
"Now that was a fight!", Angela said as she and the others walked up to Clarissa and a sleeping Irma. "You may want to put this on.", she said as handed Clarissa her coat. "You're a bit exposed there."
Clarissa looked down and saw that her tank-top was ripped showing part of her bra. Rolling her eyes while letting out an annoying groan, she put her coat on covering herself while Angela used her powers to heal her while Elyon used her powers to heal Irma. When both were done, Clarissa and Irma looked like nothing happened. It was then that Irma woke up to see everyone looking down at her.
"I lost, huh?", Irma asked.
"Yep!", Hay Lin said as her best friend sat up.
"And I hope that this settles things between you two.", Elyon said. "Friends shouldn't fight the way you two did!", she said with her hands on her hips.
"I'm sorry.", Irma said getting to her feet. "I've had a bad morning, okay?"
"What are you talking about?", Taranee asked.
"Well... Wreck 55 has a new drummer.", Irma said. "And with that new drummer they also got a keyboard player that can play guitar as well."
"Shouldn't that be a good thing?", Cassidy questioned.
"It would be if the drummer wasn't Sondra Andrews!", Irma yelled.
"Wait! What!?, Cornelia questioned.
"Sondra Andrews is the new drummer and Andrew Hornby is the keyboard player.", Irma said.
"Sondra and Andrew, huh?", Angela questioned before she and Will looked at each other. "You so have to congratulate them for the both of us!"
"Totally!", Will said surprising the other girls.
"I'm sorry, did I miss something?", Irma questioned.
"Yeah! What gives?", Cornelia asked.
"Well, I know that we all are pretty tight and all, but we all have friends outside the group.", Angela said. "Right?"
"Of course.", Taranee said. "I have some friends that I hang with at Jensen's."
"Me and Elyon have some friends that are into art like us!", Hay Lin replied with a smile.
"We've learned a lot from them.", Elyon said.
"We hang with some of the members of the swim team.", Cassidy said referring to herself and Will.
"Same with me when it come to the gymnastic's team.", Alchemy said.
"What does this have to do with Sondra and Andrew?", Irma asked.
"Well, about seven months ago, Angelo took me on a double-date with Andrew and Sondra.", Will began to explain. "I was against it at first, but after a while, me and Sondra started to get along."
"And let me guess. You two became good buddies.", Cornelia said while rolling her eyes.
"Yes, Cornelia! We became good friends!", Will said. "And I know what you're going to say! 'But remember what she did when she first came to Heatherfield!' And to that I say, big deal! That was four years ago! Get over it!", she said making Cornelia give her a glare that she returned.
"Maybe we should return to Earth and relax.", Hay Lin suggested. "It's been a long day."
"Agreed.", Kadma said as Angela opened a fold for Earth.
Once everyone was through the fold, Angela closed it and kicked back on one of the couches in the Living Room area of the apartment building's second floor. Sitting with her were Will, Clarissa, and Cassidy while the others sat in different chairs and couches.
"I'm hungry.", Clarissa said.
"Me, too.", Hay Lin said.
"How about I order us something to eat?", Angela asked. "How does pizza sound?"
"Works for me.", Alchemy said.
"Same here.", Taranee said as Angela picked up the phone and began to dial the number to the pizza place.
"Count me out.", Cornelia said. "I have to go take care of something important before the day is out.", she said as she got up and headed for the door that led down to the first floor.
"Aw, come on, Cornelia!", Elyon said. "When was the last time that we all hung out?"
"Sorry, but I have to go.", Cornelia said before leaving.
"Well, I'm going to get changed.", Clarissa said. "Seeing as someone ruined my shirt.", she replied while smirking at Irma who stuck her tongue out at her to which Clarissa simply rolled her eyes before heading up to the apartment she and Angela shared.
Now as Cornelia walked down the stairs to the first floor of the apartment building, she made her way to the front door when...
"Cornelia, a word.", came the voice of Halinor as she was walking up to her.
"Yes?", Cornelia asked as she turned to face the former Fire Guardian.
"I know what you did during Irma and Clarissa's fight.", Halinor said surprising Cornelia.
"I... don't know what you're talking about.", Cornelia said not even looking at Halinor.
"When you made the ground soft enough for Clarissa to fall backwards.", Halinor said. "I know that you are angry about Clarissa breaking up with you when she was Caleb, but your actions and behavior as of late isn't that of a friend. Let alone a Guardian."
"So I should just go and be okay with Caleb breaking up with me and be all helpful to him now that he's a she!?", Cornelia questioned. "I don't think so!"
"So you won't be helping the others with helping Clarissa and Angela adjust to their situation?", Halinor asked.
"Oh! I'll help.", Cornelia said. "But it'll still be on with Clarissa! And there's nothing you can really do to stop me.", she said as she turned to leave.
"Oh, Cornelia.", Halinor said sadly as Cornelia exited the building. "You are on the road to your own downfall, if you continue on this path.", she said as she headed back upstairs. "I only hope that you see the error of your ways before it's to late."
Well, the weekend passed and Angela and Clarissa decided to go out and see how they could operate as girls in the city. Of course Cassidy decided to go with Clarissa seeing as Clarissa was also from another world and still getting use to some of the things about Earth. Even though Clarissa figured that she knew enough about Earth now to get around on her own. Cassidy was dressed in a pair of white shorts that went down to her knees with a pink tank-top and white sandals while Clarissa was dressed in a pair of tan shorts that went down to her knees with a green t-shirt and brown sandals.
"I'm telling you, Cassidy, I'll be okay.", Clarissa said as she and Cassidy were walking down the street.
"Maybe. But I'm not taking that chance.", Cassidy said. "Besides. Elyon asked me and Alchemy to keep an eye on you for a while."
"So why me and not Angela?", Clarissa questioned.
"Because she was born here.", Cassidy said. "She'll be okay."
"Lucky her.", Clarissa said sarcastically getting a giggle out of Cassidy before she hooked her arm around hers.
"Come on! We'll have fun!", Cassidy said with a smile. "We can go do anything you want."
"Anything?", Clarissa questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"As long as we don't end up in jail, yes.", Cassidy said.
"Hmmmm... There is one thing I've wanted to do.", Clarissa said.
"What is it?", Cassidy asked.
"Weeeeeell..."
Elsewhere, Angela was walking through Midtown Heatherfield to see someone. She was dressed in a pair of purple shorts that went down to her knees with a matching tank-top and brown sandals. She was thankful that she didn't have to have someone with her like Clarissa. A grin escaped her as she knew Clarissa wanted to be on her own.
"Poor girl.", she said. "Hopefully, they'll let her out on her own one of these days. Hopefully.", she said as she walked up to the house she was going to.
Angela then rung the door bell hoping the one she wanted to see was there.
"Just a minute!", came a familiar voice as the door opened. "Angelo? I mean Angela.", Taranee said surprised to see Angela there.
Taranee was dressed in a pair of blue jean shorts with a blue t-shirt with a red tank-top over it and white sandals.
"Not to sound rude, but what are you doing here?", Taranee asked
"I figured that we could hang out.", Angela said. "Just us sistas!", she said while snapping her fingers getting a giggle out of Taranee.
"Who's there, Taranee!?", came to voice of Theresa Cook.
"Just a friend, mom!", Taranee called back as she stepped outside. "We're hanging out today. I'll be back later this afternoon!"
"Okay, Sweetie!", Theresa said. "Have fun! And be careful out there!"
"Okay!", Taranee said as she closed the door while walking out.
"So you were heading out before I came over?", Angela asked.
"Yeah.", Taranee said as they headed for the sidewalk. "I was going to hang with some friends from Jensens."
"You take your dance classes there, right?", Angela questioned.
"Yeah.", Taranee said. "For a while it was me as well as Will, Hay Lin, Irma, and Corny. But now it's just me. I do some performances every now and then."
"Oh yeah!", Angela said. "I've been to a few of them with Will.", she said as they were now walking down the sidewalk.
"So, what do you need?", Taranee asked. "I don't mind us hanging out and all. But I know there's more to it. So spill."
"Well... I need to learn to dance.", Angela said as her cheeks heated up confusing Taranee.
"But you can dance.", Taranee said. "I've seen you dance."
"As a guy, yes.", Angela said. "But not..."
"As a girl.", Taranee figured getting a nod from Angela. "And with Andrew and Sondra's party coming up, that's sort of a must. Okay. I'll help you."
"Thanks.", Angela said.
"And maybe I should help Clarissa, too.", Taranee said. "It'll give Corny and Irma less to tease her about. Do you know where she is?"
"She's with Cassidy.", Angela said. "Elyon asked her and Alchemy to keep an eye on Clarissa seeing as she doesn't know much about Earth still."
"She's not all that helpless. She knows enough to get around.", Taranee said as she pulled out her cell phone and speed dialed Cassidy. "Hey, Cass! I'm with Angela right now. Where are you and Clarissa."
"Ummmm... We're a little busy right now.", Cassidy said nervously.
"You okay?", Taranee asked.
"Oh yeah. Sure. I'm just peachy.", Cassidy said sarcastically.
"Where are you?", Taranee asked.
"Well...", Cassidy began to say.
About a half an hour later, Taranee and Angela were at Sheffield, which wasn't open due to it being Summer. But they had allowed some people to set up a bungee cord attraction.
"So where are Clarissa and Cassidy.", Angela asked.
"Ummmmm... Angela.", Taranee said looking up.
Angela looked up and saw something she never thought she'd see.
"No way!", Angela said not believing her eyes.
At the top of the very high platform stood Cassidy and Clarissa who were strapped together, back-to-back, and ready to bunge jump.
"Wow!", Taranee and Angela said surprised to see their friends up there.
"I can't believe I let you talk me into this!", Cassidy said to Clarissa.
"You said that we could do what I wanted.", Clarissa said. "And I've always wanted to try this!"
"Me and my big mouth.", Cassidy said.
"You two ready?", the attendant asked.
"No!", Cassidy said.
"Yes!", Clarissa said ready to go.
"Okay!", the attendant said. "One! Two! Three! JUMP!"
"Woo-hoo!", Clarissa shouted as she went over with Cassidy in tow.
"AAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!", Cassidy cried as the two of them fell from the platform.
"YEEEEEAAAAAH!", Clarissa cheered as she was enjoying the fall.
Then, just before they hit the ground, the bungee cord snapped them back up a bit before they went back down only to be snapped back up. This went on for a bit before they were just hanging in the air. They were then lowered to the ground where they were unstrapped by the attendants that were down there. Once unstrapped, Cassidy ran up to a tree and hugged it.
"Oh! How I missed you solid ground!", she said while kissing the tree. "I'll cherish you always!", she said as she kissed the tree again.
"You'd figure that you'd be okay with what we just did seeing as you can fly.", Clarissa said as she walked up to Cassidy.
"I'm in control when I fly!", Cassidy said as she turned to face Clarissa. "THAT is another story!", she said while pointing to the platform.
"It was fun for me!", Clarissa said with a smile. "Maybe I can get her Majesty to have one set up in Meridian."
"Now that would be cool!", Angela said as she and Taranee walked up to them.
"Hey, guys.", Cassidy said. "I take it that you saw our little jump."
"Yep.", Taranee said. "Didn't know you could scream that loud.", she said with a laugh.
"Very funny.", Cassidy said. "So why did you call me earlier?"
"Oh yeah!", Taranee said. "Well, Angela asked me for a favor that I figured I could help Clarissa with as well."
"What do you mean?", Clarissa asked.
A half an hour later, Taranee, Cassidy, Angela, and Clarissa were in one of the dancing rooms of the Jensen's Dance School. Also with them were two of Taranee's friends Luke and Shella who were students at the dance school as well.
"Can't we do this in a more private place.", Clarissa asked. "Like our apartment?"
"Where one of the other girls could see you?", Angela questioned with a smirk causing Clarissa to blush a bit. "I'd rather be here doing this than there."
"Besides. If you do this right, then you won't have to be here long.", Taranee said ready to start teaching Clarissa and Angela how to dance like girls. "Plus, it won't take long to do this. You just have to change how you dance a bit and it'll be all good.", she whispered to them so that her two friends wouldn't hear her.
"Then let's get down and funky!", Cassidy said as she turned on the stereo to play some hip hop music. "Uh-huh! Uh-huh! Get down! Get funky! It's my birthday!", she sang as she danced to the music in a goofy way.
"And we have to learn that kind of dancing?", Clarissa questioned.
"No. That's just Cassidy being Cassidy, when she wants a laugh.", Taranee said with a grin. "She dances way better than that."
"True.", Angela said. "We've seen her dance better than that.", she said as Cassidy began to dance better than she was doing. "See.", she said as Luke and Shella came walking up to them.
"You friend with the red hair is funny, Taranee.", Shella said with a giggle.
"That's Cassidy for you.", Taranee said with a grin before turning to Angela and Clarissa. "Now let's start you lesson."
"Lesson?", Luke questioned. "What lesson?"
"Well, my friends here want to work on their dancing.", Taranee explained. "There's this party coming up and..."
"They want to work on their skills.", Luke figured getting a nod from Angela and Clarissa. "Totally understandable. Let's see what you can do before we start."
"Ummmmm... Okay.", Angela said as she and Clarissa began to dance to the music with the skills they had.
"Wow!", Cassidy said impressed with how well Clarissa and Angela were dancing to the music.
"Yeah.", Taranee said surprised at their dancing.
"Hmmmm... Not bad.", Shella said. "But you two could work on your hip movement."
"But other than that, you two are pretty good.", Luke said. "I'm guessing that, by the way you two dance, you two grew up around a lot of guys."
"Yes.", Clarissa said. "Is that bad?"
"Not at all.", Luke said.
"It's just that you may want to put a bit more hip movement into your dancing.", Shella suggested.
"Point made.", Angela said when the sound of some shouting came from the room across from them.
"What's that?", Cassidy asked when Taranee's cell phone began to ring.
"That would be the Capoeira class.", Luke said.
"Capoeira?", Clarissa questioned.
"It's a type of Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics, and music.", Shella explained. "It is sometimes referred to as a game. It was developed in Brazil mainly by African descendants with native Brazilian influences, around the beginning of the 16th century."
"It is known for its quick and complex moves, using mainly power, speed, and leverage for leg sweeps.", Luke continued to explain. "There's this movie called "Only The Strong" that is centered around the art of Capoeira."
Being curious, Clarissa walked up to the door to the room they were in and looked through the window and into the window of the door of the room the Capoeira class was being held in and saw what was taking place.
"It does look like they're fighting while dancing.", Clarissa said impressed with the movements of the Capoeira class students.
"Pretty cool, huh?", Shella asked. "To bad the class is full."
"Yeah. A lot of students here tried to get into the class, but the teachers only takes so much seeing how much time and effort they have to put into teaching the technique.", Luke said.
"The girls and I learned a bit of Capoeira for a performance.", Taranee replied as she hung up her cell phone and put it away. "And believe me, it's not an easy skill to learn."
"Uncle John knows it.", Angela said.
"Really?", Clarissa and Taranee questioned.
"Yeah.", Angela said. "When he and my dad were younger, they went to Brazil with their parents to help some villages cultivate the land to grow crops. While there, my father and Uncle John became friends with the children of the village they were staying in."
"And it was there they learned Capoeira.", Taranee figured getting a nod from Angela.
"They learned a bit of it and wanted to learn more.", Angela explained. "So, Grandpa Joe went and found someone who knew it and paid them to teach my father and Uncle John."
"Cool!", Luke said. "They actually learned some from the country itself."
"Okay. Last I checked we came here to help Clarissa and Angela with their dance moves.", Cassidy said with the clap of her hands.
"She's right.", Angela said. "The sooner we do this, the sooner you can asked Uncle John to teach you Capoeira.", she said to Clarissa who nodded.
"By the way, what was that call, you just got, about?", Angela asked.
"It was Nigel.", Taranee said. "He wanted to know if I was okay with Sondra being a part of Wreck 55. I told him that I was okay with it even though it shouldn't matter seeing as it was their band. But I have to admit that it was sweet of him to ask me.", she said with a smile.
"And yet, Irma's probably still tripping about Sondra being in the band.", Angela said with a grin.
"Less talking, more dancing!", Cassidy said with the clap of her hands.
"Okay then.", Clarissa said moving away from Cassidy a bit.
"Now the main thing about dancing, is your hip movement.", Taranee said as she, Cassidy, and Shella began to dance to the music that was playing. "Once you get this down, everything else is pretty easy.", she said as she started to get down to the beat.
Seeing this, Angela and Clarissa began to imitate what Taranee, Cassidy, and Shella were doing. And much to their surprise, they were doing pretty good. An hour later, after saying goodbye to Luke and Shella, Angela, Clarissa, Cassidy, and Taranee were back at the Vanders' apartment building home where John Vanders had just finished teaching a martial arts class.
"Capoeira, huh?", John questioned after Clarissa asked him to teach it to her.
"Yes.", Clarissa said. "I figure that if I have to change just about everything about me, then I might as well do the same with my fighting style."
"Hmmmmm...", John said before he made his decision. "Okay. I'll teach it to you.", he said making Clarissa smile. "But, you must still practice this skill even after you get changed back. Capoeira is a great martial art that should be respected like other martial arts. Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes, Sir.", Clarissa said with a bow.
"Very well.", John said. "We'll begin your lessons tomorrow morning around 8:30. Don't be late."
"I won't.", Clarissa said. "And thank you."
"Don't sweat it.", John said. "Now, I'm off to take a break from teaching two classes. Later."
"Later, Uncle J.", Angela said as her stomach growled. "I think I need to get something to eat."
"You and me both.", Taranee said as her stomach growled along with Clarissa and Cassidy's. "And it seems that we're not the only ones either.", she said with a smirk.
"May I suggest the Silver Dragon.", Cassidy said.
"Works for me.", Clarissa said as they headed across the street to the restaurant in question.
Once in the Silver Dragon the Hostess, who was Hay Lin, took them to a table in one of the corners of the place and gave them menus. As they were looking at the menus, Yan Lin came up to them with some tea to drink.
"Hey, Yannie.", Cassidy said to her good friend. "How was the spa weekend?"
"Oh, I had a great time with my two daughters.", Yan Lin said as she sat with the group. "Now what's this I hear about two of our guys going through a change?"
"I knew Hay Lin was going to tell.", Angela said from behind her menu.
"That's my Hay Lin. She was so excited when she told me what happened.", Yan Lin said with a smile. "Now let's see those faces."
"Oh boy.", Clarissa said as she and Angela lowered their menus to show their faces.
"Wow! You really do look like your mother, Caleb.", Yan Lin said. "I mean, Clarissa.", she said with a wink.
"It is kind of weird how you look like Nerissa.", Taranee said. "Aside from your hair that is."
"It still feels weird.", Clarissa said.
"Don't let it get to you.", Yan Lin said as she placed a comforting hand on Clarissa's shoulder. "All will be well.", she said making Clarissa smile a bit. "Now what's this I hear about you two not wanting to wear skirts and dresses?"
"Well... We're still getting use to being girls.", Angela said. "We're not ready for skirts and dresses."
"Well take your time.", Yan Lin said. "But don't take to long. It's not so bad wearing skirts and dresses. Besides, some of your school dances may require you to wear them."
"And those will be dances that I won't go to.", Clarissa said.
"You say that now.", Yan Lin said. "But in time, you just might want to show how well you've adjusted to being a lady.", she said as she stood up. "As for me, I'm going to relieve Hay Lin as Hostess. I'll see you girls later.", she said with a wave the girls returned.
"So what do you want to do after we eat here?", Taranee asked Angela.
"Probably walk around for a bit to see how I can handle myself.", Angela said before sipping some tea.
"And you?", Cassidy asked Clarissa.
"Same thing.", Clarissa said.
"Good.", Cassidy said. "I've had enough excitement for one day."
"Bungee jumping will do that to you.", Taranee said with a grin the soon turned into laughter along with Angela and Clarissa.
"Oh you guys are sooooooo funny.", Cassidy said before sipping some tea.
After they ate and paid for their meal, the girls said their goodbyes to Hay and Yan Lin and left the Silver Dragon and headed for the park to enjoy the peacefulness it provided. Once there, Clarissa and Cassidy took a rest under a tree enjoying the shade it provided, while Angela and Taranee took a stroll around the park.
"Okay. So what's on your mind?", Taranee asked. "Cause something tells me that you wanting to learn to dance isn't the only reason you came by my place."
"Well... I've been thinking.", Angela said. "I know she's hiding it the best she can, but I know that Will is effected by this big time. She just won't admit it."
"That's because, she believes that we'll find Fredes, beat him, get his wand, and change you and Clarissa back to normal very soon.", Taranee explained. "Before school starts, if possible."
"Believe me, I'm hoping for that, too.", Angela said. "But I also know that there's a chance that I'll be like this for a while. I know Will said that she's willing to wait..."
"But you don't want her to wait.", Taranee said getting a nod from Angela.
"Sophmore year is coming and if by some chance Will meets some nice guy, I don't want her to pass up a chance with him just because she's waiting for me to be returned back to normal.", Angela explained.
"I see where you're coming from in all of this.", Taranee said. "But if Will is willing to wait, then that's what she's going to do."
"I know.", Angela said. "I just hope she doesn't lose it while she waits."
"Not to mention go off when she sees some guy hit on you.", Taranee joked.
"Taranee!", Angela said.
"What!?", Taranee questioned with a cheesy grin. "You are a very attractive young lady."
"Oh brother.", Angela said while rolling her eyes with a grin as the two continued their walk through the park.
Meanwhile, in another part of town, one Irma Lair was running home from Matt Olsen's home in tears dressed in a trench coat and white sandals. The reason for this was because of something she never thought would happen. Yet it did. And now she just wanted to put as much distance between her and Matt as she could.
'Why!? Why did he do it!?', Irma thought to herself as she ran down the sidewalk to her home. 'How could he!? He was suppose to pick me! Not her! Me!', she thought as she continued her way home as the tears flowed.
A/N: Well looks like Irma learned, the hard way, that Clarissa isn't one to play with. Oh well. And now, even after Halinor's talk, Cornelia has plans to make Clarissa pay for dumping her, when she was Caleb. Looks like there's trouble from within the group. And after a day of learning to dance, Angela get some sound advice from Taranee. And Irma is upset about something. Like we don't know what that is. But how did it go down? And what will Irma do for payback? Keep reading to find out! Oh well! It wouldn't be fun without a bit of drama. Find out what happens next in the next chapter!
