Sorry for the delay. When I first wrote this chapter there were just too many holes, so I ended up having to rewrite the entire thing.

One more thing I wish to congratulate this fic for reaching its 10,000 views. Thank you to all.

Chapter 8

(Febuary 7th 2017 A.T.B)

In the ravaged ghettos, the Japanese people struggled to survive. Starving and bloodstained children cried over the loss of their parents while the remaining adults struggled to find food. Many of the older residents just stayed in their shacks as the effects of a small brown vile made its way through their bloodstream. Life was gray and seemed to lose more meaning with every moment they remained slaves.

Above all the dirt and the blood a sleek bullet train was speeding by while the Britannian passengers lived free of care as they waited to reach their destination. In one of the high class cars a certain female trio from Ashford Academy was currently sitting in the lap of luxury.

Shirely pressed her nose to the glass as she stared at the office buildings and lush fields. "I've never left the Tokyo Settlement before. This is so exciting!"

"I bet you wish Walter was here, don't you? Don't be so shy. I've seen you checking him out and I don't blame you. He does have a nice ass." Milly chuckled at the younger's growing blush. "Don't worry. Tonight we can stay up all night talking. Let's tell each other which boys we like from school."

"Then you'll probably take up half the night, won't you Miss President?" Shirely took out a pocky with a bitter expression.

"Who can say?" Milly just laid back with a content smile. Nina quietly chewed on her pocky, the chocolate covered stick hiding her upturned lips.

The train's horn sounded as it entered a tunnel, the total darkness tore a gasp from Nina's trembling lips. "Are you sure we should be doing this Milly?"

Seeing her friend in distress, Milly calmly placed her hands over the younger's. "Nina, everything will be alright. There are going to be lots of Britannian soldiers and tourists at Lake Kawaguchi. There is nothing to worry about, it's not the ghettos." She spoke in low soothing tones, as would one with a startled animal.

"Yes, but what about Miss Cornelia's loss?" Ever since the strange broadcast Nina was more skittish than ever. She looked as though an Eleven would jump out of the shadows at any moment. It was a miracle the poor thing didn't go into cardiac arrest.

"We'll be with you the whole time. We won't leave your side for a second."

Looking into Milly's firm gaze a smile slowly formed on Nina's face even though she continued to tremble. "Thank you." The immediate fear pushed back Milly returned to her seat.

"The Annual Submit is one of the most important business meetings of the year. It's guaranteed to have the best security, second only to the Emperor's Palace. So calm down. I didn't go through all this trouble to arrange our girl time only for you two to worry yourselves sick."

Once again they were in the light; the train left the tunnel behind allowing a first class view of one of Area Eleven's most important landscapes. Shirley looked out in awe at Mt. Fuji's snowy peak.

The beautiful mountain towered over the rest of the land, its top just grazing the heavens yet close enough that the people may enjoy the sight. But for the large deposit of sakuradite underneath its beauty had been tarnished beyond repair, half the mountain was supported with metal plates curving around the right side. To see something that was such a part of their heritage defiled by the Britannians it was a great motivation to the people of Japan.

The Black Knights were preparing to make their official debut to the world. Hidden in warring and conquered areas all around the world twelve hidden bases were buzzing with activity. Each fraction was preparing to announce their existence in coordinated strikes on the country's Britannian occupation and corrupt politicians. Each move was coordinated with the area's Deva and Master Zero.

"Excellent, proceed as planned. Have your reports ready by tomorrow." The tall cloaked man faced eleven holographic screens, his polished mask reflecting the faces of his allies yet giving nothing in return.

"Yes sir!" One by one the representatives exchanged respectful gestures of their home countries before signing off.

Stepping off the platform Zero turned to the medical officer that had been waiting by the door for the last five minutes. "And what of the girl has she awoken?" When they opened the container it was a surprise to find a teenage girl in a prison uniform trapped inside. When she didn't awaken after four hours it was theorized she slipped into a coma in order to block out the pain.

The middle aged Japanese woman bowed in respect before answering. "No sir, she remains catatonic. One can only imagine the horrors she endured at the hands of those bastards. But the strange thing is there are no scars, no injuries, no signs of pain or a struggle." The mysterious green haired woman passed all the tests with flying colors.

"Contact me when she has awoken, there's no telling what she knows or how many others were forced through the same treatment."

Suppressing a shiver at the thought she bowed as she left Zero to organize last minute details.

"Master Zero!" At the call, the infamous tactical officer of the Black Knights turned away from the holographic simulator the military was generous enough to "donate". "You have to see this."

"How are things looking at the scene?"

"I'm in front of the Lake Kawaguchi Convention Center hotel. The hotel jackers have identified themselves as the Japan Liberation Front. Members of the Sakuradite Allocation Meeting, most notably Chairman James, were taken hostage as well as several tourists and hotel employees." The screen changed to what looked to be the some sort of storage facility where a group of Britannians were on their knees with their hands behind their heads while a group of Japanese soldiers held them at gun point. "This footage was taken by the perpetrators. In it you can clearly see Chairman James and even a few students. The leader of the group claims to be Lieutenant Colonel Kusakabe of the now disbanded Japanese military."

In the JLF headquarters Tohdoh and the Four Holy swords watched the broadcast, each wearing a look of disgust. "That imbecile!" The traitor was making the entire nation of Japan look like a bunch of heartless bastards.

"Sakuradite, an essential component in the manufacture of high temperature super conductors is a vital resource that directly affects the world's security. Area Eleven is the largest producer of this material, providing seventy percent of the world's total supply. Here at the yearly nation meeting of sakuradite producers it will be determined how this resource will be distributed among the world's nations. It is no exaggeration that the outcome determines the balance of global power between Britannia and other countries. It is theorizes that the terrorists are using world interest in the Annual Gathering to their advantage by carrying out this violent hotel takeover."

In the hotel basement, Milly was holding Nina trying to keep her from crying. Shirely looked blankly at the wall, completely detached from the world.

A man in his mid forties dressed in a Japanese military uniform slowly walked into the room. His combed brown hair and steeled brown eyes gave the illusion of a man in complete control. Tan hands were folded over a sheathed katana while two soldiers stood behind him each armed with modified assault rifles. "I am Kusakabe of the Japan Liberation Front. This stand is for the freedom of our land and the betterment of our countryman. Even though you are not soldiers you are still Britannians, you are the ones who rule and oppress us. Sit still and be quiet and you'll have nothing to worry about. If you don't…" He left the threat hanging.

"So they've finally made their move." Tamaki spoke in monotone as the reporter read off the list hostages they've managed to indentify.

"Their easily the biggest anti-Britannian force in Japan and now their prides been wounded." Dressed in a black trench coat, Ohgi crossed his arms as he stared at the monitor.

"Because of us?" Yoshitaka Minami, the soldier who alerted Zero, wiped his glasses in disbelief.

"Maybe." Who knew what was going on in the minds of the desperate?

"I don't know whether to treat that as a compliment or an insult." For once Tamaki couldn't find a joke amidst the conflicting fractions. "But either way they're all gonna end up dead."

"Our time has come." The gathered knights looked to Zero with confusion and eagerness. "Now we reveal ourselves as an enemy to oppressors and a guardian to the innocent."

It was coming!

The entire squad was gone. Taken out in seconds and now it was after him!

His knightmare wasn't fast enough! He couldn't outrun it!

He was going to die!

Darkness.

The knightmares legs had been ripped out from beneath, the sakuradite core was dead. He was helpless. Something had pierced his left lung, he could felt the bold trickling in. It was getting hard to breathe.

A red symbol flashed on the screen for something he couldn't make out. Everything was getting fuzzy. His eyelids were getting heavier by the second. Sleep sounded good about now. Yes, sleep. A place where pain did not exist.

Wait! What was that?!

Above his chair he saw a white glove had pierced his metal tomb, a sharp snap and a second one joined. With a quick tug a large hole was torn into the top and the Devil himself was staring him down.

Seeing the pathetic mess the once proud officer had been reduced to he could help but smile. Staring at the metal pipe that burst through the chest plate, it appeared that this one had red blood. A pity, he really wanted to see if cowards truly had blue blood. But there was a chance this man had some honor.

Yes, that was the only explanation!

But that just meant there was more fun to be had! With a small cackle he reached for the honorable man. "My master has a task for you." With one arm Guilford was pulled out of the wreckage, giving him a close up of the monster before him. "Tell your princess Zero will not stop until the empire burns. And I will be there every step of the way to ensure my master succeeds."

With a wave of the red trench coat, he was suddenly dropped in a room that was organized in a strict military fashion. He was in G1!

He was brought from his musings when the dull ache from the pipe was enhanced ten fold. The devil had taken it out! He was too weak to even moan in agony. Holding the blood coated piece of steel, Guilford could only watch as the monster slowly licked it clean with a gluttonous smile. He looked more like a child with a special treat then a creature of the darkest pits.

Sticking his hand in the growing pool of blood the monster used it to write something on the wall behind him. He didn't have the strength to question the beast much less turn around. Finishing his work the monster gave him one last fanged smile before melting into the shadows of the room.

He could hold on anymore. The last thing he heard was the door opening. He recognized the heels as the boots belonging to his princess.

"Get me a medic!" And all turned into merciful black.

"And that's all I remember." Guilford clutched his sheets, preparing for his punishment of telling what could easily be written off as a child's nightmare.

"Zero. The monster said his master's name was Zero?" Guilford stared at his princess with disbelief. He continued until he realized the question was for him.

"Well all he said was 'Zero will not stop until the empire burns.' but he did not say that Zero was his master. Perhaps an ally or a superior."

"Zero." Cornelia practically growled as the name passed her lips. "I now have the name of the one who killed my brother. I want a list of anything to do with Zero cross-referenced with all terrorist movements, past and present." The only recovered glouster knight saluted, darting out the door.

"I apologize for my weakness Lady Cornelia. If you wish to remove me I will hesitate."

"Don't be ridiculous Guilford if nothing else this proves my choice of Knight was sound. You survived a fatal injury against an overwhelming opponent and will be ready to fight within the week. I couldn't have chosen a better man to entrust my life."

The knight blinked before lowering his head in submission. "You honor me. I will not fail again."

"I expect you back in fighting condition to join us in the destruction of the Japan Liberation Front's Headquarters. Now go to sleep."

"Yes, Sir." And with that Cornelia rose from her seat and walked to the Command Center taking her seat on the throne. "What are the results of our attempts to gain access?"

The main Tactical officer saluted before pulling up a hologram of the building including some pictures of rescue attempts they've made in the last half hour. "All bridges leading to the hotel except for the main one have been destroyed. Any attempts at air and sea have met with disastrous results. There is only one route left that will allow us a possible hostage rescue plan."

Cornelia raised her head, signaling the man to continue. "The main utility tunnel running directly beneath the Convention Center Hotel. Basically we would go in through this route destroy the foundation block and submerge the hotel. Since the tunnel was also built to handle supply deliveries it should be able to accommodate Sutherlands." As he spoke three standard knightmares were being sent. "Even if the enemy has taken precautions it should be no problem. From what we've seen they've been using substandard weaponry so we'll have no trouble evading them."

Three yellow arrows symbolized the Briattianian soldiers on the main screen as they passed the halfway point the knightmare's factsphere sensors sent back a strange weapon blocking the rest of the way. Before any more ground could be covered all three signals were lost.

Darlton's eyes were in danger of popping out of his head as the reports rushed in. "Wiped out?!"

The last image slowly formed on screen. It looked like four glasgows had had been merged together to hold an enormous cannon. "It looks as though they've modified a glasgow into a linear cannon."

The officers were not taking the situation as well as they could.

"There's no way our knightmares can break through."

"What do we do?!"

"If we release the political prisoners as they demand-"

At the submissive phrase Cornelia put her foot down. "We can't show weakness to terrorists!" She practically barked out.

The glouster knight leaned to whisper in the Viceroy's ear. "But Princess Euphemia is…"

Slouching in her chair Cornelia lowered her voice. "Yes, I know."

"Thus far it appears none of them have discovered that fact. If they learn Princess Euphemia is among the hostages, they'll undoubtedly use her as a bargaining chip. She went there just to observe so she isn't registered with the other guests. But our time is short; there aren't many families with such…vibrantly colored hair." Darlton's observation reminded everyone how small their time limit was. Either the princess was found out or the hostages would be killed.

Away from the main military force Suzaku stared out at the hotel dressed in his orange and black uniform of the Special Core Unit. Cecil's face was in its usual form of concern as Llyod's expression showed he could care less about this whole scene.

"Can't the Special Core offer any assistant in rescue operation?" The Lancelot carrier was parked with the launch pad facing the center of the lake, but all the controls were offline and Llyod had the only key.

"I already offered but we're in a regular unit. They don't acknowledge our chain of command. Besides if you're seen they'll wonder where your princess is and that would undoubtedly lead to her being discovered. Besides-" Llyod let the statement hang, watching a rock skip across the lake four times before sinking to the bottom.

"It's too risky to entrust the operation to an Eleven, is that right?" It seemed no matter how hard he tried the world would never accept him. Even becoming a knight to a member of the royal family hadn't changed anything, becoming a Knight of the Rounds accomplished nothing. What is he doing wrong?

Llyod just smiled, picking up another stone. "Yet I'm sure you're aware Princess Cornelia is very discriminating about Britannians and numbers. Not even Euphemia's puppy eyes have a hope in hell of changing her mind."

In a brief movement Suzaku felt the same anger that ruled him as a child. "So the Japanese are still aren't being accepted into your structure?"

"If that were true then why even bother with an Honorary Britannian system." Cecil's words immediately calmed him. Out of all the officers she was by far the kindest, she saw him as a boy forced into a war not a slave. If nothing else she was like the mother he never had and for that he was eternally grateful.

A mile away from the farthest news van the Black Knights waited. A squad of veteran knights and Zero himself waited for their scouts to return.

The rustle of leave alerted the knights at the arrival of a certain mischievous duo.

Zero's gaze remained on the hotel's blueprints. "So what are we up against?"

Rivalz was the first to reply. "There's definitely a vampire in there." With Walter filling in the details. "Yeah the place is crawling with ghouls, all Britannian soldiers."

Tamaki blinked at the report in disinterest. "So on a scale of one to ten how screwed are we?"

"We are dealing with ghouls. The hotel is guarded by an army of Japanese soldiers and ghouls. Ghouls are what deflowered humans become when they are bitten by a vampire. Much like zombies under the control of their maker. And that means there is a vampire somewhere within that building."

"So we're fucked." Tamaki summed.

Ohgi walked over from the television, where reports of the hijacking filled every news station. "From what we can gather the hostages are being kept separately and are safe for now, but that can easily change. They are our main priority. We can't risk any of them getting bitten."

Zero nodded. "Indeed there must be a reason Kusakabe was going to through all this trouble. We need to uncover the reason before we kill him."

"Well we sure as hell can't afford to go against a vampire and a hotel filled with armed ghouls. The soldiers need more training." The men nodded in agreement with their superior.

"I agree." Mentally filing the display of cowardice away Zero's tatctical mind formed a bloody, yet perfect plan. "And our mission calls for subtlety something all but impossible in this situation. But I believe I have a solution."

Adjusting his collar Tamaki spoke up. "Care to indulge us?"

"To answer your first question Tamaki we're screwed unless I call in a little help. This is no longer strictly a Black Knights mission, but one of Hellsing's responsibilities. Thus making it appropriate we get such supernatural muscle of our own." Even with a mask it was impossible not to feel the twisted smile stretch across their leader's face.

Nina Einstein could barely breathe. Watching as a Japanese soldier paused nearby, she couldn't stop from whispering. "An…Eleven?"

Unfortunately the soldier slowly turned to the young girl with narrowed eyes. "What did you say?!"

Nina gasped in fear at the attention. She never meant for those words to leave her mouth left alone be heard.

The soldier proceeded to point his gun at the trio of girls. "We're not Elevens! We're Japanese, dammit!"

Milly wrapped her arms around Nina in an effort to calm her down while she locked eyes with the enraged man. "Yes, we're aware of that! Just lay off of her!"

The man continued shouting drawing the attention of the other hostages. "Then correct her, we're not called Elevens!"

Fed up Shirley snapped at the armed man. "Fine, we'll correct her!"

Her tone clearly was not what the soldier wanted to hear. "How dare you speak like that to me! You three, come with me to the next room and I'll teach you a real lesson!"

Burying her face in Milly's jacket Nina began to quiet sob. "No…No!"

A few feet away a certain pink haired princess watched. Infuriated Euphemia tried to get up, but her subordinate grabbed her arm while shaking her head.

"I said, get up now!" The Japanese man shouted as he grabbed Nina's arm.

Thrown into a state of panic she screamed, struggling in vain. "Ahhhhh! Let me go!"

Refusing to let such barbaric actions continue Euphemia stood. "Stop it!"

Throwing Nina to the side the Japanese soldier aimed his gun at the pink haired Britanian. "Who the hell are you?!"

Euphemia stared down the barrel of the gun without fear. "I demand you to take me to your leader right now! Understand?"

He blinked in confusion, whether it was from the demand itself or the nerve of the young girl he didn't know. "What?!"

The subordinate whispered in an urgent tone but softly enough that no one else would hear it. "No, Sub-Viceroy, please!"

Taking off her glasses, Euphemia stared the soldier straight in the eye. "You're addressing Euphemia li Britannia, the Third Princess of the Britannian Empire.

Japanese and Britannians alike gasped at the knowledge that a member of royalty was present.

Turning to Nina she spoke in a soft, gentle voice. "Are you all right, young lady? You haven't been hurt?"

Nina was rendered almost speechless from being addressed from such a beautiful, selfless woman. "No…"

Exchanging glances two soldiers nodded. "Very well. Follow us, but don't even think of running." Leaving the room Euphemia silently walked one Japanese soldier in front and behind her. As they walked through the halls she soon saw blood stains patched on the wall.

Horrible moans filled the hallway; Euphemia's immediate thoughts were on the security detail that never came. Turning a corner she found the officers who were charged with protecting them, but they were no longer human. Their skin had turned into a sickly grey, blood drenched their clothes, but their eyes nearly made her scream.

Soulless, bright purple bringing out every drop of blood that fell from their open mouths. There was no trace of humanity in those eyes. Bringing a trembling hand to her mouth she couldn't believe anyone would do such a horrible thing or such a creature could exist.

The guards slowly limped down the corridor not taking notice of the soldiers or the princess, for they had only been instructed to kill any unsupervised Britannians.

"What have you done to them?" Courage from her earilier performance lost, Euphemia's question came out a frightened squeak.

"We've made use of them. They're not human anymore, they are known as ghouls. Soulless corpses doomed to walk the earth until they rot into dust. A fitting end to Britannian filth." The soldiers smirked at her reaction.

Suzaku sat in the Lancelot as Cecil transferred data into the factsphere.

"The teenage hostages are students from the Ashford academy." Cecil attempted to make small talk with the monochrome knight.

"The school Euphemia wishes to attend." Against her sister's wishes Euphemia wished to continue high school at a normal facility.

"Yes, but don't worry negotiations are still under way. So let's not give up hope." Cecil smiled as she typed in the access codes.

"I have faith in the system. I prefer the logic of systems to individualist emotion." The radio changed from standard updates to the voice of a panicked officer.

"Urgent report from Sky Team Seven! Situation changing! Situation changing!"

Using the Lancelot's screen Suzaku zoomed on the roof. A tied Britannian was held by the edge by four Japanese soldiers.

Pausing in her work, Cecil stared at the monitor. "What are they doing?"

He had a feeling "Oh no. Don't do it."

Ramming the but of his gun into the man's back he was sent falling from the top of the twelve story building.

"Noooooooo!" Suzaku screamed as he helplessly watched.

At G1 Cornelia and her commanders where watching a video from Kusakabe himself. "Our demands have gone unanswered. Therefore we will throw one hostage from the roof every thirty minutes until our terms are met. For the sake of the hostages the negotiations better be in good faith."

Furious Cornelia marched out the door, Darlton close behind. Both stopped dead at the sight of a certain knight in a wheelchair and red bath robe calmly waiting in the hall.

"You should be resting." Cornelia said frowning. Turning she began walking down the lit corridor to work out her emotions.

"I have for the past two hours and seeing how we've made no progress I decided I'd better tend to the situation." Guilford steered himself forward to keep up with his princess

"I take it you know of our dilemma." Darlton asked from Cornelia's left.

"I just heard about the video." It was impossible not to hear the reactions being shouted from the main room.

"This is their warning? Barbarians." Darlton spoke, nails seconds from piercing the fleshof his palms.

"For now we could negotiate just to get the women and children out." In Guildford's mind keeping the princess safe along with the future of Britannia was the highest priority.

"Forget it!" Cornelia ordered. "If you give into their conditions even once then you're just legitimizing terrorism."

"Then do we use force?" Darlton asked.

Guilford spoke carefully, fearful of further enraging his princess. "We would pursue that course of action after we secure Princess Euphemia."

Cornelia clenched at the thought of her sister in captivity. 'Euphy…I'

"Viceroy!" The three paused as a messenger rounded the corner. "Viceroy someone has entered the perimeter demanding an audience. He says to tell you his name is Zero."

Turning Cornelia's eyes were filled with malice at the name.

A bobber floated gently in the waves. Ripples spread out as the lure tipped back and forth. The easy motion was quickly disturbed as the caster jerked at a piece of unsettling news.

"What!" Diethhard spoke in outrage. "What do you mean van three was stolen? What the hell was Gibson doing while this happened?"

The poor intern's knees shook. "He said that when he realized what was happening it was too late."

"And where is van three now?" Diethard asked.

Thankful the worst was not centered on the status of his job, the intern spoke much more clearly. "In the middle of the army's encampment."

Facing the lake Diethard smiled. 'Zero.'

Things were about to get interesting.

Kallen drove van three straight into the military camp with Zero standing on the roof unprotected. Soldiers and pilots created a large barrier, preventing them from leaving. But they did not move to intercept.

The screeching of two glousters was all the warning they had before the machines moved in to block the main road.

Cornelia released the locks on the cockpit standing in plain view, meeting the masked terrorist in height. "Well, well you finally decide to show your face Zero. Are you a member of the Japan Liberation Front? Or intend to help us? Regardless our concerns take priority over yours at the moment. And so for the death of my half brother Clovis I shall take my revenge right here." From her seat she took out a custom pistol with an elongated barrel.

However Zero was not intimidated. "Cornelia, which would you prefer? The dead Clovis or the living Euphemia?"

Cornelia flinched. 'He knew.' He knew she was there.

He continued, mentally recording her reaction. "It is within my power to rescue Euphemia."

Gathering herself she asked. "Zero. I don't understand what you're saying."

"I'll be able to save her." That was all he had to say.

'Euphy.' Cornelia lowered her weapon, closing her eyes.

Darlton addressed the troops. "Attention all forces, let Zero through."

Approaching the gate, two britannian soldiers stepped back as iron bars parted for the vehicle.

Releasing his own chair, Darlton whispered. "Viceroy what are we doing?"

"By letting Zero pass I believe we can buy some more time before the next hostage in executed. This is a rare opportunity. We can destroy two enemies at once." Cornelia smirked as the fool inched closer to death.

In the Special Core's camp Lloyd leaped with joy.

"Wonderful! I wish to thank you for that lovely order." Laughing he turned off the radio, turning towards a seated Suzaku. "They said you've got the green light Lancelot. She said that you are to enter from the tunnel and head straight towards the enemy!"

"Lloyd!" Cecil shouted in outrage. "Doesn't that mean they're telling us to act as a decoy?!"

As usual he ignored the warning signs. "Yep. Seems like they'll use the confusion to send in the royal guard."

Nearly cracking her laptop Cecil lowered her voice. ""Seems like"?! That's-"

"Ms. Cecil." Released from her rage Cecil vision was filled with a determined Suzaku. "I'll do it please let me do it. As long as it will save everyone…If Lancelot and I are required now, I should do it! Even if the at means acting as bait."

Signing Cecil disconnected the feed and stepped down.

Nodding his thanks Suzaku inserted the golden key. The screen lit up with the Lancelot's custom symbol.

Z-01 Lancelot

Marching Ever Onward To Tomorrow

Lights flashed on the knightmares face as all systems went online.

"Lieutenant Kururugi, I'll brief you on the operation." Cecil calm voice filtered out through his ear piece as blueprints filled his monitor. "According the surveillance, the hostages are being held in the middle tower locked inside a food storage facility. Mobile Weapon Z-01 Lancelot will use the utilities tunnel to move under the hotel. Once on site you will destroy the foundation block and submerge the building. It'll take an estimate eight minutes before the area where the hostages are located becomes submerged. Hostage rescue and mop up of the terrorists will be handled by separate units."

Outside the Lancelot was being equipped with a large blue assault rifle, fully loaded.

"In order to destroy the foundation, the VARIS will be employed. Set the impact rail to anti-material level three."

Lloyd decided to come in with the bad news, sounding as though it was all a game. "The only variable in this is that pesky linear cannon waiting for you in the tunnel. Due to the limited space the Lancelot's evasion rate is only forty seven point eight percent."

Turning off her microphone Cecil questioned a jubilant Llyod. "Are we really going through with this?"

Llyod replied, not bothering to turn off the receiver. "Yep. Make sure you both pull out of there before it's too late. Lancelot might be scratched and that's unacceptable."

""Before it too late"?" Suzaku asked.

"Yup."Llyod replied in a joyful tone.

"Understood, Sir." And with that he was lowered into the tunnel.

Zero calmly stood in front of Kusakabe. Two armed men behind him, rigid like sentinels.

Sitting on the room's only couch holding his sheathed sword in front, Kusakabe said. "I take it you are the infamous Zero, lapdog to Lord Hellsing."

"And you are Josui Kusakabe, the disgraced lieutenant who turned his back on honor." Zero returned.

With the general taunting out of the way it was time to get down to business. "I'll be honest. When I took this mission I was told the Iron Maiden herself would be the one to gun me down."

"My Lord has many branches to overlook and it is my duty to ensure Japan runs smoothly while she is away. You said you took a mission from someone, I doubt you would let such a piece of information slip without intent to explain." The masked terrorist's voice was cool and smooth, like a polished sword ready to cut down any who dare stand in his way.

The former lieutenant laughed at the observation. "I can see why you were chosen, but to answer your question I'm here to deliver a message; Hellsing's days are coming to an end."

Behind his mask his right eyebrow rose. "Oh, aren't you talking about yourselves? You must have realized that there is no way you and your men will be leaving this building alive."

The sound of gunfire, a melody he knew so well, came from below. "So you brought the Hellsing's pet."

"He has a terrible habit of leaving no survivors." Zero said as though speaking of the weather. "However , there is something I wish to ask. What do you intend to achieve with these actions?"

"Your vampire is not my concern. This operation was a testament to the world; the Japanese are still alive. We will keep fighting until we regain our freedom." The Japanese man spoke with unparalleled passion. He truly loved his nation. It pained him to see his fellow countrymen being treated like dogs when they were once on the cutting edge of technology just a few years ago. And through it all Zero could only say, "How old fashioned."

"You old timers cannot be saved." The soldiers bared their teeth at man.

Forcing himself to calm down Kusakabe asked. "What do you mean by that, Zero?"

The masked man merely laughed it was only then the officers notice dthe shadows crawling on the walls. Spiderwebs cracked along the widows and floor as the air froze in terror. They were not alone.

Sighing the lieutenant could only accept his fate. They had been warned about the bloodsucker's power. The best course of action was the only way that their investment would not go to waste. "Very well I surrender to my impending defeat, but I never said anything about surrendering to you." Pressing a hidden button in his cuffs the proud man and his subordinates became encased in ghostly blue flames. All it took was a minute and three bodies were reduced to ask.

"They'd rather choose death over captivity? How dramatic." A dark laugher echoed at the terrorist's take on their evening.

The door opened showing two guards and one traumatized princess.

Seeing the masked figure and the bloodied bodies of their commanding officer

The soldiers raised their guns to question the stranger but they never got the chance to open their mouths. Two bullets lodged themselves in their skulls, bursting on impact showering het princess in blood.

Euphemia stared at the bloodshed, what was to happen to her now? Before the price of revealing herself was predictable but who knows what the strange man wanted.

"Princess Euphemia li Britannia." Euphy flinched as the man slowly addressed her by title. " I've heard that you have been appointed as Sub-Viceroy.

"It's nothing to be happy about." Ignoring the morbid scene around her she focused on his words. She only got this position because some tortured soul stabed his through the heart. Why? She had no idea.

"I must say this isn't very surprising. Of all members of the royal family only you would constantly put yourself in harm's way for the safety of other. It's nice to see some royals have some worth, unlike that sniveling dog." The sheltered princess amused him. How native.

Sniveling dog? "Are you the one killed Clovis?" She didn't know what possessed her to ask, but she needed to know the truth.

"Yes." He didn't even try to hide it.

"Why did you kill my brother? He was a good man." The only reason he took a position in Area Eleven was to search for Lelouch even when the others had given up hope. What was wrong about a man trying to find his little sister?

"He begged me for life till the end with the same mouth that ordered the murder of hundreds simply because they were at the wrong place at the wrong time."

"Is that why you killed my brother?" Clenching her fists, blinking back tears.

"No."

At his dismissive tone she snapped. "Then why!" She screamed.

Because he was a child of the Emperor of Britannia. Come to think of it…" From the folds of his cape Zero drew a loaded pistol aiming straight at her heart. "you're one of his children, aren't you?" Red eyes gleamed in the doorway.

Fire blazed around the white knight, fed by the ruble of the once great building.

Safely inside the knightmare frame Suzaku stared aimlessly at his target. "I couldn't save them…I…I…Not again!" Punching the main computer, pain raced up his arms. But it wasn't enough, it was nowhere near enough.

Out of the smoke a white boat sailed to the center of the lake. All news stationed jumped when their monitor played nothing but static before clearing away to show a masked individual.

"Britannians, there's no need to panic. The hostages that were being held in the hotel have all been saved. I return them to you unharmed." Civilians watched in awe as a dozen lifeboats slowly drifted towards the military camp, each loaded with people who while scared but alive.

But Cornelia was less than pleased with the results. "Of all the brazen adasidity. If we fire on you then those people become your hostages."

Spotlights lit up the front of the boat showing Zero with a small group of mask individuals. "People! Fear us, or rally behind us as you see fit! We are the Black Knights!" HIS arms spread wide as he addressed the world.

"Black Knights?" Cecil asked unsure if she heard that correctly. Crossing his arms over his chest Llyod just watched the screen smiling. "Ironic, isn't it? The terrorists referring to themselves as knights?"

"We of the Black Knights stand with all those who have no weapons to wield…regardless of whether they be Elevens or Britannians! The Japan Liberation Front cowardly took innocent Britannian civilians hostage, and they mercilessly executed them! It was a wanton and meaningless act; therefore, they have been punished…" The proof was in the blood stained walls of the previously prestigious hotel. "…just as former Viceroy Clovis was punished for ordering the slaughter of countless unarmed Elevens. We cannot stand by and allow such cruelty to be carried out, and so we made him pay for his actions. I will not repudiate battle on a fair and level field, but neither will I tolerate a one-sided massacre of the weak by the strong. The only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed! Wherever oppressors abuse their power by attacking those who are powerless, we shall appear again, no matter how mighty or formidable our foe may be!"

'Knights…for justice?' Kallen stood in place thinking over the words spoken with such passion just in front of her. This was the power of the Black Knights. The organization that wished for the world and all who dwell upon it to once again be free.

"Those of you with power, fear us! Those of you without it, rally behind us! We, the Black Knights, shall be the ones who stand in judgment of this world!" All across Japan its people applauded the masked knight. While those in Britannia seethed at the one responsible for future terrorist attacks all over the world. In a secluded part of Britannia a certain man grinned at the challenge. A new war was brewing. One destined to be much more satisfying than the last.

While happy that his princess and the politics were unharmed, Suzaku immediately locked himself in his room after they returned to the Central Government Bureau. After no word for an hour Cecil found herself knocking on the door, pleading with the stubborn boy. "Suzaku, please come out! There was no way you could have known that the Elevens could have access to all the security codes. Princess Euphemia doesn't blame you for anything."

"She never would. That's the kind of person she is. And I failed her!" A strained sob broke through his control, forcing him deeper in his depression. "She trusted me to keep her safe. Viceroy Cornelia trusted me to keep her safe! She had faith in me and I let her down! What kind of knight am I?!"

"Oh let the boy be." Turning she saw the Lloyd eating out of a generously filled bowl of chocolate pudding. "He's just in one of his moods. Give him a few days to mope and he'll be back to his counterproductive personality in no time."

"You seem rather confident." Cecil put her hands on her hips, raising an eyebrow in disbelief. "I didn't know you began branching out of mechanics."

"Oh rest assured I still have no interest in human social interactions. Suzaku is merely the final piece of my beloved Lancelot and his mood swings tamper with my precious creation's potential." Of course.

"If nothing else Suzaku's bouts of depression are incredibly predictable." Walking away Llyod shifted through his calculations on perfecting the Lancelot's latest upgrade.

Cecil just watched her superior, blinking at his actions.

He actually came down to tell her not to worry. He learned to see how Suzaku deals with different situations and when to back off. Placing her hands on her hips Cecil smiled at the pale haired man. "Today's just full of surprises."

And there's the extra Hellsing touch.

Did you think I forgot about Millennium? I assure you there will be plenty of blood from both storylines.

The leaders of the twelve resistance groups of the Hellsing Organization get their title from the twelve deities that are said to protect the world in Japanese and Chinese Buddhism.

I'd like to thank NeoNazo356 for this stories first OC. Thank you, I'll be sure to put him to good use in future chapters.

Trust me I'm woring on Suzaku and Euphiemia's relationship but I have to make it work. As for her becoming a vampire I think that will work, but I also need to find a proper black knight to fill the role of Seras under Lelouch. Any ideas?

Any guesses as to who Zero is under that mask?
