Smallville Kansas, Clark thought with a sigh as he slowly deposited Kay's barely eaten food on the counter in the mess hall and leaned back against the counter next to the sink and crossed his arms as he thought. Home-

Home was the only place he could think of that would be safe for him to take Kay for their little outing and perhaps con the girl into being fed as well. Yes, that seemed to be the best choice for the moment. And since he knew that returning home unannounced would raise questions unless one of his parents were on their deathbeds- then it would be for the best if he took one or two other members of the Justice League with him.

Especially if any trouble should arise and the person who had created that mysterious tech showed up looking for Kay.

It would be wise to have the backup there to protect his family and the girl too if he should become incampacitated. But who? Who should he take with them? J'onn was on the verge of a meltdown as it was and was mentally exhausted, taking him could be like picking up a double edged sword made of kryptonite. On one hand- he'd fight to his dying breath. But on the other, would he really be of any use if something happened? Especially when he was so tired mentally.

He could try asking Black Canary or Shayera or maybe even Wonder Woman he supposed. But the moment the thought struck him he shook his head and automatically vetoed those candidates. Each of them were trained killers and military women in one form or another. And frankly he doubted they'd ever let their hair down enough to frolic on a farm or bond with a civilian family.

So yeah...they were out.

Maybe his cousin- No, no, no. Knowing Cara like he did she'd likely kidnap Kay, take her shopping, dress her in the most stunning, form fitting and shortest dress she could find then haul her out to a bar or club. God knew she had done such things to herself many times since her arrival on earth, but he didn't think he would like the prospect of her being 'responsible' for Kay's safety. Because even if she did keep an eye on the girl- she'd still likely miss something and Kay would wind up suffering for it in some way or another.

He sighed again as pressure slowly began to build behind his eyes, indicating that a headache would soon be paying him a visit when the mess hall doors opened and Batman walked in with J'onn, Flash and Red Tornado. Bats made his way over to where he was standing and caught sight of the tray and narrowed his eyes a little bit.

"She's still not eating," It wasn't so much as a question as a slightly annoyed statement made to himself. Maybe the fact that her health was now a major priority bugged the man. Superman didn't know and frankly he didn't care. "So what do you plan to do now?" Bat's asked curiously. Wondering if Superman was going to put Kay in the infirmary or not.

"Actually I think I may have an idea about how to get her to eat..." Superman said, suddenly feeling an impending sense of doom as Bat's met his gaze with a questioning one and took on the 'I'm waiting' expression that Superman knew so well (and often times) absolutely hated. "I'm going to take her on a little field trip to my parents farm. M-Maybe being there around normal people will help her a little bit. Plus my mom will undoubtedly fuss over her and con her into eating something. And I also figured that perhaps being in a normal environment might help trigger some of her memories... I've already talked to her about this and she agreed that she would go with no less than two or three escorts. Otherwise the deal is off."

Bat's was silent for a moment before turning his head just a tad to peek at Flash and J'onn over one of his shoulders before announcing, "J'onn, Flash and I will go."

"Uh...b-but-"

"No 'buts', "Batman said in a tone that told the Kryptonian that it was useless to argue here. The man would do what he damn well pleased and if the boy scout had a problem- Oh well. "We go or she doesn't get her outing." Batman said as Superman opened his mouth once again to argue when Kay's voice cut in from somewhere in the room, causing all of the men to search out the direction her voice came from and found her standing just in the doorway. Quietly observing them and their interactions.

When had she gotten there? Superman wondered almost stupidly a moment or so before he felt like face palming and perhaps slapping Bat's in the back of the head for his rude and overly paranoid behavior. Seriously, they had established that the girl wasn't a threat and yet he kept acting all weird like she was. His behavior when it concerned Kay was seriously starting to piss Superman off.

"It's alright," She said again. Her voice, a little husky from lack of use over the past week or so finally reaching all of their ears. "If those are the terms of the outing then it's fine. I understand." She said a little awkwardly as she moved a bit further into the room and stopped just shy of everyone's reach.

Like literally right out of arms reach. Almost as if she were scared that one of them may grab her and rough her up or something. She had changed her clothing, Superman noted. Changing out of the fuzzy PJ's that she had been wearing a little while ago and into normal clothes. A nice overly large teal sweater and black form fitting jeans, and on her feet... A pair of black leather lace up ankle boots with small heels.

The ones that she had purchased the day before yesterday if he recalled right. Since she had barely gotten much of anything Bat's had basically thrown a fit and told her to buy more clothing and what not. And she'd been so distressed after he had left her that she had done exactly that, Though she still hadn't touched many of the boxes of stuff that littered the far wall of her room just yet.

She was also wearing a small amount of makeup (like blush and eye shadow) and her nails had been painted black. And last but not least was her hair, he noted with just a little bit of fascination. Instead of leaving it a disheveled and tangled mess, she had combed it out and put it up into a ponytail. Leaving only a few thick strands at her temples free to fall on either side of her face along with her bangs.

She looked...for lack of a better word, adorable.

His jaw dropped slightly. And his wasn't the only one, he saw hitting the floor. Flash's did too. And while he could see no noticeable reaction from Batman (seriously did the man have ice water running in his veins?) aside from a slight widening of his eyes behind his mask, he saw- er no- rather it was, they all heard J'onn's reaction to Kay's appearance a mere moment before he went invisible and disappeared only to reappear directly in front of Kay and wrap an arm, and a good portion of his cape around her as he shot the three of them a dark look as he snapped,

"I think it's time to go. Everyone get on the ship or I'm leaving you behind." As he more or less pulled the startled girl out of the room and away from prying eyes.
