OSPREY...SWOOOOOSH

UO: Hey guys Happy New Year

Orihime: Thank you UO-san

Ichigo: It's been a while. I saw your production with the 2nd Magnolia. Those Fairy Tail guys are a riot.

UO: Yeah I know. Alright you know how I said we were going to Motegi?

Uryu: Yeah?

UO: Well I decided to change the track a bit. I'm staying in Japan but we are heading to Suzuka now. It was a last minute change. Plus I think I can get the race I want to write at this track

Ichigo: Really our home track?

UO: Yeah I got a plot line that involves your manufacturers and a couple of other teams they sponsor.

Andrew: I don't like changes but I will adapt.

Tatsuki: At least we won't have to move far for our cars.

Chad: May I do the disclaimer

UO: Knock yourself out big guy

Chad: UnitedOsprey1991 does not own Bleach as it is owned by Tite Kubo. Ichigo would at least get together with Orihime and Rukia, possibly Tatsuki.

Tatsuki and Orihime: CHAD (Orihime sputtered. Tatsuki glared.)

Chad: He also does not own the track, the manufacturers or the names of the drivers with the exception of Raoul, Maria, Jessica and Rebecca. The Jury is out on Rebecca.

UO: (Grumbles) start the fic please.

Chapter 9: Beginnings in Japan

When we last left the Kurosaki team, Andrew had just beat Soi Fong in a what amounted to a two car race at Korea. After some strategy and some maneuvers Andrew was able to get around Soi Fong on the final lap. This capped off a great week for him in which he also earned a higher degree black belt. It was a mixed week for Ichigo as he went out with a transmission failure but had managed to score a day out with Orihime, which they agreed to do when then got back to Japan.

Now it was the day after the race and the group was back in Japan as it was a relatively short trip back for the Hendrick and Kurosaki teams. They were in the Kurosaki headquarters and it was a full team meeting. They were on the last item of business.

"Now ladies and gentleman we come to our last bit of business. Our next race. Boys we have the home field as it is coming to Suzuka."

The Kurosaki team smiled while the Hendrick team had curious looks. Ralph asked the question. "So you guys practice on this track that seems a little unfair don't you think?"

Uryu looked at him. "It is essentially the same as the Ferraris practicing on Monza or you guys practicing at Charlotte. Just because it is home-field doesn't mean we will win."

Isshin nodded. "That is right Uryu. There is also a bit of history. No Japanese driver has won at this grand prix regardless if it's here, at Motegi or at Fuji, in 15 years. The last one to do it was Kaien Shiba and he died 7 years ago at this track. It's still a bit of a sore spot especially with the Kuchiki team as he was racing with them at the time. This will be the first time since that accident that we are going to be racing here. There is some history of fatal wrecks here and it was Kaien's death that originally placed suspicion on the Souske team. But that is not what we are here for. For you American drivers none of you have raced here so let's get down to business.

John pulled up the projector. "Alright this race is a little more technical than Korea but it's about the same distance and is of a figure eight configuration. You go down the pit straight into turns 1 and 2 affectionally known as the First Turn as they both are right handers. After which you go through a series of s curves from three and seven which spills in to a long sweeping right hander, Turn 8 is a short right hand turn into turn 9 where you brake hard. After the overpass, yes overpass, there is a short right hander before the hairpin at turn 11. You pick up speed into turn twelve as you prepare for another passing spot into turns 13 and 14 called the Spoon because of its shape. Then you go down another long stretch which is where maximum speed is obtained while setting up for the last four turns. 15 is just after the bridge and is a left hander that is really fast. You then break hard for the last three turns which is a chicane designed to slow down the cars. You spill back onto the pit stretch and that is one lap here. One last note." Johns said zooming in on turn 15. "This is the infamous 130R turn. It is deceptive and it has been the cause of many deaths at this track including Kaien Shiba. Please be careful. Dismissed."

With that the group packed up and the people started having their own conversations.

In the hallway Serenity was talking with Robert about the track.

"I feel uneasy racing at a track where someone died recently." Serenity said.

"I understand that Serenity but they would not have given the go ahead if the track wasn't safe to race out."

Serenity crossed her arms. "Why do we have to race here? Why not Fuji? It hasn't killed anybody."

"Why do we race at Daytona?" The two turned their heads to see Andrew walking up to them.

"Why do we race at Indy? Spa? Serenity when you started racing you took the risk that death could come with it. I looked at the schedule. Of the top 5 tracks with the most fatalities four are on the schedule this year and Le Mans is strictly for the Sports cars." Andrew stopped in front of him. He looked at Ichigo who was talking with Tatsuki and absently noticed Benjamin nearby.

"Death is a part of racing. Some people can't take it. Do you remember Rukia Kuchiki?" The two nodded. "Ichigo told me this story. She was a promising racer and for a short while was dating Ichigo. She looked up to Kaien as an idol. She won a support race the day before and was on pit road when he was killed. She for the lack of a better word, lost her nerve. She turned in her license and retired at the end of the season and ended the relationship on good terms with Ichigo. Shame too, she would have been one of the Kuchiki drivers this year." Andrew said walking away. The two American drivers looked over to Ichigo who was finishing his short interview.

Kuchiki Estate

Hundreds of miles/kilometers away from the Kurosaki estate in the Nagano prefecture, a more traditional Japanese manor. It had a black tiles with white walls and sliding doors. Despite its tradition it embraced modern traditions. This was the family estate of the Kuchiki family a family almost as old as the Kurosaki family. Whereas the Kurosaki family focused its diverse holdings in the medical fields, the Kuchiki family focused on industry when the Meji Restoration occurred. The current head of the family, CEO of Kuchiki Holdings and owner of Kuchiki Industries racing, Byakuya Kuchiki was gazing at the forest sipping his tea. Around him the cherry blossom trees were starting to awaken thus creating the landscape on which the estate is name, Chizakura no Oka, the Hill of Thousand Cherry Blossoms. Hisana gracefully walked behind him and knelt down.

"It's beautiful. Byakuya-koi."

The stoic man let down his façade for only two people, his wife being one of them. He smiled. "Yes. My ancestors picked a perfect location to preserve the harmony of this land and to show the beauty of it.

Hisana looked at her husband with a smile. "I know. It was the place where we fell in love. It is hard to believe it's been 12 years since you took me and my sister in."

Byakuya smiled and looked at her. "I couldn't let a young girl and her baby sister die on the streets. I put her to work, but it seems she worked her way into my heart."

Hisana looked out at the fields. "Now because of that chance encounter, the baby we created will grow up never knowing the ugliness of her mother's childhood."

Byakuya looked shocked but hugged Hisana close. "No it won't." He said taking the news quite well. Hisana snuggled against her husband as the trees slowly opened.

Rukia who had been watching smiled sadly. 'Nee-chan. You deserve all the happiness you deserve.' Thank you." She said slipping away.

Next Day: Kurosaki manor. March 29th

Serenity awoke with a yawn when she heard noise down stairs. She slipped on her robe and descended down the stairs. She came upon Karin eating breakfast and Yuzu making some for the boys who came down behind her.

"Sorry Serenity we woke you up. Karin and Yuzu start their third year of high school today and we wanted to drive them to school." Ichigo said. Serenity noted that the girls were wearing charcoal gray tops and white blouses, with a red ribbon and a same colored skirt with white socks.

"That and we need to make sure the same deal Ichigo set up last year is still in effect. Orihime and Tatsuki are going to film us. If you can get dressed and cleaned up in fifteen minutes we can take you. We should have some breakfast leftover we get back if the boys don't wake up."

Serenity nodded and quickly took a shower. She was down in a casual red shirt and pants. She saw that Karin and Yuzu were ready with their book bags.

She followed them to Ichigo's car and got in on the driver's side. Yuzu being the smallest was in the middle and Karin was behind Andrew. They pulled out and started making their way to the school.

Serenity took a look at the uniforms. "So what is with the fashion. It looks good on you."
Yuzu smiled. "Oh these are our school uniforms. You wouldn't have them in a public school in America. In Japan all schools required these."

Andrew piped up. "They also got to school a lot longer. I think its 220 days compared to ours Serenity. Ichigo was lucky to get their arraignment where they could take their homework on the road. In that regard, they are lucky to have a couple of college grads with them." He said smiling in the mirror.

Karin deadpanned. "Yeah still can't do a thing in math."

Andrew puffed up. "Shut up." His reaction got everyone in the car to laugh.

They finally pulled up to the school and saw there were still students milling about. Checking their watches they saw there was about twenty minutes before school started. They pulled into the parking lot across from the school and stepped out. Karin and Yuzu walked a little ahead of them as they ran into their friends. The crowd started whispering as they recognized three of the Grand Prix drivers walking into their high school.

"Is that Serenity Gordon?"

"She's so pretty in real life.

"Andrew is so cool for beating Soi Fong.

"I heard he stood up for mentally challenged people.

"What's Ichigo Kurosaki doing here?"

"I heard he dropped out."

Ichigo growled "Not true. I graduated thank you very much." He said as he walked through the halls to the principal's office. Asking Serenity and Andrew to stay in waiting area. He approached the receptionist desk who told him to go back.

Ichigo opened to door and saw the same man who was the principal when he went to school but a little wiser. Looking up he grinned.

"Ichigo Kurosaki. A pleasure to see you again." Ichigo quickly bowed, which got the old man to chuckle.

"It's been a while since you have needed to that. So what can I help you with."

Ichigo stood up straight. "I was wondering if the same arraignment could be made as last year with my father.

The principal chuckled. "You know when your father approached me about this I was concerned, that Karin and Yuzu would struggle. I'm glad we are wrong as they are in the top 20 for the school. At their current levels I have a feeling they would get into university." He said.

Ichigo sighed. "Arigato." He said handing him the upcoming schedule.

The man smiled. "Now then I'm sure you are busy. We have classes to start soon. So have a nice day Mr. Kurosaki."

Ichigo bowed again and left. He met up with Serenity and Andrew walked out. Yuzu caught site of them and waved. "Bye guys see you later."

One of her friends turned to her. "You know them.
Yuzu nodded. "Yeah, Ichigo is my brother, Andrew races for my family's team and Serenity is a fellow driver who is staying with us.

"Wait your brother is Ichigo Kurosaki?" Another girl asked.

"Yep I help big brother out during the races. So I travel with them." This got the kids around them excited.

Meanwhile the drivers got caught up in the courtyard as fans clambered for autographs. They signed them for a few minutes before the warning bell sounded and those that didn't get all of them were slightly disappointed.

They walked back to their cars with Serenity laughing. "Bet you never had to contend with fans swarming you like that."

The two took it in stride as they went back to their cars and went back to the Kurosaki mansion.

A couple of hours later, Orihime and Ichigo were preparing for their outing. Orihime was in a gray sweater over a white blouse and a black skirt due to the weather. Ichigo was wearing a polo with blue jeans.

"Ichigo where are we going?" Orihime asked.

"I figure a walk around town would suffice." Ichigo responded.

Orihime smiled as he escorted her out. Five minutes later, Andrew and Tatsuki followed suit. Andrew in a grey stripped shirt and blue jeans and a wind breaker, while Tatsuki was wearing a white blue shirt and red skirt and black socks.

"So we just stay out of sight?" Andrew asked.

Tatsuki nodded. "Yep, we don't want to raise suspicion though. So we got to act natural."

Andrew nodded and surprised Tatsuki by wrapping an arm around her.

"What? Easiest way to throw it off. To the rest of the world we are just another couple. Come on."

Tatsuki nodded and went with him blushing slightly at the contact.

(Play Lovers in Japan by Coldplay. I don't own it. Song is beautiful by the way and I think the way the music is played is perfect for this setting. Its early spring and the trees are in bloom. Excuse me for being emotional)

A piano was played in the background as the two couples started walking through town.

As the beat picks the clouds are covering the sun

Lovers Keep on the Road Your On

As Ichigo and Orihime got through the park they see kids dancing playing in the grass as the trees bids start to slowly open.

Runners, Until the Race is Run

A short distance away Tatsuki and Andrew were watching and smiling as the a couple of kids came up to Orihime and dragged her to play. Andrew caught a couple of the falling buds and blew gently as it flew away. Tatsuki laughed at gestures.

Soldiers, you've got to Soldier on

The two couples were now walking through the trees. Orihime separated from Ichigo and started spinning as the buds started to fall.

Tonight, Maybe We are Gonna Run

Ichigo smiled as the leaves seemingly swirled around the red head. Then the bubbly girl started running and Ichigo was trying to keep up with her. Off to the side Tatsuki and Andrew were watching the scene with huge smiles. Andrew caught a flower bud and placed it behind Tatsuki's ear causing her to blush. Andrew took her hand as they continued to follow casually behind the red heads.

Dreaming of the Osaka Sun

Dreaming of The Morning Sun

The two couples were walking through town. They went into a few shops and also had lunch at one of the cafés. They were still smiling as the sun which was covered by the clouds had started to appear creating a beautiful day.

But their Turning My Head to See What I'm all about

The couples were still walking and they ran into a few fans that wanted autographs. Orihime smiled as they fans wanted to take pictures of him. They Blushed when they wanted to take a picture of them together but they declined. A little further back the same thing was happening to Andrew and Tatsuki; the fans were thanking their good fortune to see both drivers.

To See What It Feels Like Now

The main couple was walking up the hill which was familiar to Ichigo but not to the other three.

But I Have No Doubt

One Day the Sun Will Come Out

(Fade away song)

Orihime cuddled closer to Ichigo. Despite it being Spring it was still cold out. Orihime looked up and saw they were at a cemetery. She looked up at Ichigo who was walking to a certain spot in the cemetery.

They stopped in front of a particular grave stone. It Read in Kanji

Trust in your heart for your dreams will follow

Orihime watched as Ichigo's face turned somber. 'He must have trust in me to bring me here.

"Hey mom, it's been a while since I visited. We have been busy going all over the world." Ichigo smiled tearing up a little. "I achieved my dream. We are in the Grand Prix this year and I already got a win" Ichigo said laughing.

"Yuzu and Karin started their third year in high school. Karin is big tomboy but she helps out in the pits a lot. Yuzu," he chuckled. "She is becoming more and more like you every day personality and looks. If it wasn't for her we would have collapsed a long time. I brought a friend today. Her name is Orihime. You would have liked her."

Orihime squeaked but stepped up. "Hello Mrs. Kurosaki. It's a pleasure to meet you. I heard great things about you. If you ever see my brother Sora, I would like you to say hi for me and tell him his baby sister misses him." Orihime said as she knelt down to pray in front of the stone. A breeze brought swirled around them and she shivered. Ichigo put a jacket around her.

"I think she likes you." He whispered getting her to smile. Standing up they turned and saw Andrew and Tatsuki who were walking around.

Ichigo found his voice. "Hey what are you guys doing here?" Knowing the gig is up the two gently walked up to them.

"Well, we make no excuses for our actions we wanted to make sure you were okay." Andrew said. Then sheepishly he said "I guess we can also say that we went on a date as well." That got Orihime to laugh and Tatsuki to blush brightly.

Andrew looked over to the grave. "So this is your mom's grave huh?" He asked Ichigo walking over to it.

"Yeah. I try to make it a point to come here a couple of times a year. We try to make it a trip around when she died." Ichigo said.

Andrew nodded. He stood in front of the grave. He did a cross and said a small prayer. "Hello Mrs. Kurosaki. I am Andrew. I'm one of your son's friends and teammates. We started on a rough patch because of our nationalities and our social status. But I couldn't think of a better person to be my wingman." He said gently.

They four bowed their heads. Another breeze picked up. The group smiled feeling something motherly near them.

"Bye mom. I will see you soon." Ichigo said as they made their way out of the graveyard.

The couples started heading back to the mansion. They were wrapped around each other's arms, Orihime's on Ichigo's right and Tatsuki on Andrew's left. They didn't realize it then but it was the beginning of something they couldn't explain but felt right to them.

Two days later

At dinner the day of their excursion, Isshin had informed them that Honda wanted them to appear at their debut of their prototype race car. In development with Kuchiki Holdings and Kurosaki-Ishida Enterprises respective car divisions, Honda started developing a new race car that was projected to hit the showroom within three years and expected to be Hondas car within the next couple of years. So they were expecting the Kuchiki team as well despite them being affiliated with Toyota. The two companies were quite large and had diversified well it's just they focused on different fields. Souske Limited, he explained, did something similar especially after the market crash a few years ago. This announcement allowed Yuzu to take a reluctant Orihime and Tatsuki to look for dresses as they were on the guest list according to Isshin.

Now the Kurosaki drivers were dressed in their respective suits. The Hendrick drivers were already out looking for dinner so they didn't have to worry about them. All four wearing a black suit and pants combo but the ties were different. Andrew had a red tie, Ichigo's was white, Chad's was a light blue and Uryu was black. All four slicked back their hair because most of them had wild hair. They were waiting for the girls who were taking a while to dress. The boys figured it was Orihime who they knew had problems dressing up nice.

"This is taking forever. Karin, Yuzu, hurry up." Ichigo called out.

"Sorry, oni-chan just five more minutes." Yuzu called down.

Uryu rolled his eyes while reading a book on the table. "Ichigo patience is a virtue. Please calm down. Unfortunately, we know how girls are. Considering two of them don't like to get dressed up and a third who is more the reluctant to dress up and well…"

Ichigo groaned. "I know. Stupid bastards better stay away from my sisters."

Andrew chuckled. "Go figure that is what you're worried about. Although I am on the list of those that hate getting dressed up." He leaning his head back.

Chad noticed something on his a collar. It looked like a blue puzzle piece. "Andrew what's with the pin?"

Andrew looked at him. "Hm…oh this pin. It's the symbol of Autism Speaks. (Don't own it but it's a nice organization.) This group helps educate people on autism and other spectrum related disorders. My family has supported this for a while. Problem is that it isn't international. I am trying to change that by exposing it more. I figure talking to a few people in the big business world would do that.

Ichigo smiled. "And you being autistic would make you as a somewhat unofficial ambassador."

Andrew smiled. "Yep, I might be attending a convention somewhere down the line if I can fit it in."

Ichigo chuckled. "Fame might not always be grand but it gets you connections. I think you are doing great.

Before Andrew could respond, Yuzu called out that they were ready. The girls started coming down the stairs. Yuzu was wearing golden white dress that came below her knees. Karin was in a black dress with a similar length. Both had their hair down up in small buns. Tatsuki was a in a blue dress and her normally spiked haired hair was combed down and came down to her shoulders. Orihime was in a golden dress that actually looked good her. Her hair was done up as well. All of girl's natural looks didn't require a lot of make up on them which was fine for Andrew and Ichigo.

Orihime saw Ichigo's look and blushed slightly. Ichigo walked up to her. "You look great." Orihime looked away shyly. "Thank you Ichigo."

Andrew looked at Tatsuki with a smile. "You clean up nice."

Tatsuki looked away and Andrew could see a faint blush. "Yeah so do you big guy." Isshin broke it up by ushering them into the limo which considering the size of the party was required. Inside the limo they were situated in their seats and through some odd circumstance (cough Isshin cough) Ichigo and Andrew were seated next to the reporter duo. The car ride took an hour and a half mostly due to some late rush-hour traffic. The girls got some interviews with the drivers and the family as they drove on which got some humorous reactions and eased the tension especially with Isshin who had to give a speech. Sometime later they had arrived at the place the banquet was being held at the Honda Headquarters near the about ten minutes from the track. (I don't think it is I made it up

Rolling up they noticed the paparazzi as this had been anticipated for the last two months.

The limo pulled up and their group piled out. As they went into the center, Orihime clung to Ichigo which got him to smile a bit as they handed their invitations in. The place was packed with many top executives from the company and their guests. They separated while Andrew, Tatsuki, Ichigo and Orihime stayed close.

"Wow never thought so many people were here. Just shows Honda is huge now." Andrew said looking around.

"And it's because of the announcement that so many people are coming." A familiar cultured voice sounded. They turned to see Byakuya in one of his fancier Yakutas with Hisana on his arm and Rukia near him. Hisana was in a red kimono with rose buds doting the robe while Rukia was in a blue kimono with snowflakes on it.

"Hello Byakuya-san, Hisana, Rukia." Ichigo said bowing slightly and shaking their hands. Pleasantries were exchanged and Andrew excused himself to get a couple of drinks for them. Tatsuki walked with him to least help him leaving the red heads with the nobles.

"So Byakuya any ideas on what this new car is about?" Ichigo said smiling.

Byakuya maintained his stoic composure. "It is a secret although your father's division helped with the design but it was my company that brought the idea to life.

Rukia spoke up. "This car was brought about after…Kaien died. Kaien wanted to be a car designer after he retired but he was killed before that happened." Rukia said looking down.

:Ichigo looked at her. "Rukia…you didn't do anything. Something in the race car broke and he died doing what he loved." He said looking at her seriously.

Rukia hesitantly nodded. "I am sorry we broke up but I didn't think we'd work out especially after what happened."

Ichigo chuckled. "Yeah you are probably right midget."

Rukia rolled her eyes. She turned to see Orihime who looked at her curiously. "Oh Orihime. You look so fabulous tonight. Who did your make-up.

Orihime smiled as they started talking to each other with the two males looking on.

"You were a good influence on her Ichigo." Hisana said from the side causing Ichigo to turn to her. "You inspired her to be independent and broke her out her shell."

Byakuya looked at him. "My sister-in-law convinced me you were a good person. And I am glad I trusted her judgment. I am glad you proved me wrong." He said looking at the two girls specifically at Orihime who was laughing at something Rukia said. "Don't lose her." Ichigo looked at the stoic man. "Don't lose that girl Orihime. I fought for my marriage with Hisana and I have never been happier." He finished, giving Hisana a kiss and walking giving the younger man time to think.

Over in the bar area, Andrew and Tatsuki finally got to bar area and were drinking out of their glasses when a snide voice sounded.

"Well what do we have here?" The two turned to face a brown haired man in a similar suit that Andrew was wearing except he had grey tie. Tatsuki was confused but Andrew's look turned dark.

"Joshua Reynolds. I'm surprised to see you here."

The man chuckled. "I'm here because I am on one of the Honda teams invited here. You're looking at a member of the NASCAR's Honda team: Golden State Limited."

Andrew scoffed. "I guess you came here straight after the last race. I guess the Easter break helped you to come here. (Dates are off I know just roll with it.)

Josh grinned "Yep. I am kicking butt taking names. So who did you pay to get in here?

Andrew growled then smiled. "I am glad you asked. Do you remember Ichigo Kurosaki?"

Joshua scoffed. "I remember him. Red headed kid Japanese punk with money yeah what of it.

Andrew chuckled. "Well he eventually became part of a team put together with his father and uncle. His Honda team got promoted and one of the drivers retired. Guess who got tapped to come.

Now it was Joshua's turn to growl. "You. Part of the Kurosaki team? Don't make me laugh."

Andrew was about to respond but then he saw Isshin walk over. "I guess you don't pay attention to the Grand Prix. Hey Isshin." He waved over to the man.

"Ah Andrew my boy how's the party." Isshin said smiling.

"I am doing quite well sir. Hey let me introduce you to an old friend of mine. This is Joshua Reynolds."
Isshin tapped his chin. "Reynolds. Oh yeah you're the guy that got dropped from the junior division for wrecking someone intentionally. I didn't realize you were back racing."

Joshua recovered. "Oh yes Mr. Kurosaki I want to race with Grand Prix but it seems there aren't a lot of positions right now. I am hoping we end up in the Grand Prix division 3 next year. (I will explain more at the bottom.)

Isshin nodded. "Well I hope you enjoy the party. Andrew I have someone I'd like you to meet." Isshin said motioning him over. Andrew nodded and took Tatsuki's hand and walked away.

Joshua though looked furious. 'He beat me again. What does he have that I don't.' He said cracking the glass.

The three were walking around when Andrew turned to Isshin. "Thanks I was about to blow my lid."

Isshin smiled. "No problem. Though I do have someone for you to meet. Come on."

The trio walked to a middle-aged Japanese man in white suit. He noticed Isshin walked over and excused himself.

"Ah Isshin-san. Always a pleasure seeing you." The man said shaking Isshin's hand.

"Heh…Miyamoto-san I do what I can. I want to introduce you to someone." He motioned for Andrew to walk up to him who was nervous in front of the man.

"Andrew, this is Daisuke Miyamoto, the current CEO of Honda. Miyamoto-san this is Andrew Michaels one of my drives for the Grand Prix team.

Andrew stood up straight and bowed which got a chuckle out of the man.

"It is a pleasure to meet such a young man that Isshin puts high praise in. He is proud of all of his team."

Andrew was still nervous. "Thank you sir. It's nice to meet you as well."

Daisuke smiled and raised his hand to his collar more directly his pin.

"An interesting pin you have here. Michaels-san. What is it?"

Andrew gulped. "It's the pin of someone who supports Autism Speaks sir. My family has supported them for a long time."

Daisuke made a noise of understanding. "Ah…autism such a fascinating mental…handicap." He said getting Andrew to widen his eyes. "I understand why your family supports it. Why do you support it?"

Andrew sweated a bit. "Well…(sigh)let's just I have a personal connection to it."

The man nodded. "I see. Well then. You do those with your handicap proud and your family. Keep up the good work. I will be keeping an eye all off you Kurosaki-Ishida drivers." The man said smiling and walking away.

Isshin smiled. "You made a good first impression on him. Doesn't help I like to brag about you guys." Isshin said walking away.

Tatsuki who watching turned to him. "That was pretty cool." Andrew smiled and then felt something on his cheek. "What…"

"That was a token of appreciation." Tatsuki smiling. The young man smiled as he took Tatsuki's hand.

A half hour later they were sitting down for dinner. The group of eleven were given a table near the big screen which was going to show the new car. Mr. Miyamoto and the Kuchiki's were seated at tables nearby.

Mr. Miyamoto stood up which silenced the crowd. "Ladies and Gentleman I thank you for coming and for the press of the world I welcome you to this unveiling. For the first time in seven years the World Grand Prix comes back to our track at Suzuka Circuit and we thank the competition committee for bringing it back here. In addition for the first time in nine years a team representing Honda is on the World Grand Prix stage. Please stand drivers of the Kurosaki Ishida Enterprises team: Uryuu Ishida, Sado Yasotora, Andrew Michaels, and Ichigo Kurosaki." At each name they stood and crowd clapped their hands as they waved. They sat down as the clapping stopped.

"Through a partnership, with Kurosaki-Ishida Enterprises and Kuchiki Industries we have developed a new car for the future. I now turn it over to the CEO of Kurosaki-Ishida Enterprises. Isshin Kurosaki." Isshin stood and walked to the podium after shaking his hand.

"Thank you Mr. Miyamoto. Ladies and Gentleman, this new car was a dream of the late Kaien Shiba. He wanted to be a car designer and created a lot of designs in his spare time. When the call came for our cars to be safer he was one of the first to submit designs. Before he could submit his final design, he was tragically killed seven years ago. It was determined that something in the car broke and even with all of the safety features in the cars impact killed Kaien. The designs however were saved and ended up in my company's possession. I turned it over to the Grand Prix officials and gave approval to begin prototyping the car. Six years of R&D later and with Honda's backing and the Kuchiki Industry engineering we developed two cars."

Isshin pressed a button and an image of two cars appeared.

"Ladies and gentleman, say hello to the Zangetsu and the Tensa. (I knew I could fit them in somehow.)

The crowd looked impressed at the cars. So did the drivers who liked the looks of the cars.

"The Zangetsu, which means Slaying moon, is the latest in the sports car category. The street version of this car which we hope can be released in the next two years is 7000 horsepower on an eight speed V12 engine. Tests have shown that this can get 45 miles to the galleon and is capable of 280 miles per hour. This car has loads of safety features including smart seat belts which will adjust for the perfect fit around the passenger based on height and weight. Adjustable steering wheels and seat heights are also standard on this vehicle. For the first time, as an option for a considerable sum, we can put a bracket in for the HANS device and allow you to the benefit of head safety in an accident. This does not mean the air bags are gone rather it is another way of trying to reduce injury in an accident."

This got the crowd to clap for it.

"A price for it will be determined later. As for the race version, the first live test will be at the Spa 1000 Km endurance race and we also hope to have three entries, two factory teams and a privateer entry, at the 24 Hours of Le Mans."

The crowd took it all in as Isshin waited a minute for the crowd to calm down.

"Now for the Tensa, the name meaning Heavenly Chain. This car we hope can compete with the Fusion, the Impala and the Altima. This hydrogen-electric fusion car is available in three versions, a standard, a coupe and hybrid. This 325 horsepower 6 speed car is available in both automatic and manual. It can get up to fifty-five miles to the galleon and is possible to go 700 miles on a tank in a standard vehicle. We took a lesson from our friends at Subaru and in the hybrid and the standard cars, they will be all-wheel drive.

As for safety, in addition to the safety features that will accompany the Zangetsu, the Tensa also has the smart belts for little kids and those in booster seats. For the car itself the crumple zones deflect the energy back and the engine will automatically shut off in the event of an accident because of a series of sensors embedded in the framework. For a small fee we can also install the same fire extinguishing technology we find in our race cars. Speaking off racing we hope to have this car in the Grand Prix within two years. We hope that by this time next year we have this car in the showrooms. "

Isshin stopped talking as the crowd clapped their hands.

"Safety is a top priority in cars on and off the track. I nearly lost my son in the wreck my wife died in. I hope with these new cars, that the fatality rate is low to none. The risk will always be there but I always hope to minimize it. Thank you." Isshin said the crowd gave him a standing ovation.

The clapping died down as they discussed the new cars.

Isshin sat down and breathed out a sigh of relief.

"You did great Tou-san." Yuzu from his right.

"Yes uncle that was a great speech." Uryuu said raising his glass.

Isshin smiled. "Thanks guys. I hope these cars do well. Oh who am I kidding you see the reaction of these guys they loved it." Isshin said. He took a sip and looked over to the Kuchiki table. Byakuya caught his eye and they raised their glass to each other.

After dinner and dessert was served the party started to die down. Isshin knowing they had two girls who had school in the morning left the part around 10. From the looks on the other's faces they wanted to get home too. So calling their limo they climbed into the car and left on the long car ride home. The twins fell asleep almost immediately and they looked cute next to each other. Ichigo smiled but then felt something on his shoulder. Turning he saw Orihime dozing off on his shoulder which got Isshin to gush over the possibility of grandkids. Ichigo wanted strangle him but he didn't want to disturb Orihime so he got comfortable. Andrew grinned but felt a poke on the shoulder.

"Scoot over." Tatsuki said as she laid her head down. "Hime has the right idea. Keeping up with you was exhausting." She said yawning. Andrew turned a little red but said nothing as they drove home.

An hour later they arrived at the mansion. All the sleeping people were woken up but Orihime was a little difficult to arouse.

"No…stay away little blue men. I am comfortable right here you're not taking the pillow king." Orihime mumbled which got everyone who was alert to laugh. Ichigo blushed and with Tatsuki's helped her to their room. Ichigo thanked her and ran out of the room.

Breathing slowly, he turned to see Andrew walking up to him.

"Orihime is a strange one isn't she." He said taking off his tie. "She's good for you." He said walking to his room after saying good night. Ichigo went to his room and dressed for bed. He turned off the light and looked up at the ceiling.

'Orihime. What is it that make me smile around you.' He pondered as he fell asleep

Next day at the track

The next day found the team back at the track getting ready for qualifying. The media buzz surrounding the race was enormous as the drivers had been interview several times.

Chad had already gone and had a respectable time. Tier was currently on top as the first group had. Ichigo was prepping for the second group. Andrew was going out in the fourth group which got some of the officials nervous. Serenity who was also in the fourth group noticed it as well.

"Geez I knew some people were superstitious but is with everyone given me the stink eye?" Serenity said walking with Andrew.

"There is a simple explanation for it. Tatsuki got a pad and pen." Andrew asked. She nodded and pulled it out of her camera bag.

Clicking the pen he started talking. "Excuse my handwriting. Anyway this is the Kanji for 4." He said writing said Kanji a little sloppy but still readable.

"Now something about a lot of these symbols is that they can be read different ways. Here let me write it again. This time let me write the symbol for gami." He said. Now it read Shinigami.

"You see written with different symbols, the symbol for 4 Yon becomes the symbol for death shi. Now let me write your car number. In Kanji it would be Nijuyon. Or another way to say it double death." Andrew said handing back the notebook and noticing Serenity look a bit shaken up.

"It's just superstition you'll be fine. Come on we need to get to our cars." Andrew said picking up his pace.

Serenity shook her head and went to go get into her car.

When the session came Serenity and Andrew went out one after another as they went on the course that they practiced on several times before. When the green flag dropped, Serenity was able to pick up the first two turns but got a little wild on the S turns which allowed Andrew to pass her. As they made their way to turn eight Andrew got a little loose and allowed Serenity underneath which frustrated the man to no end. They went through the hairpin and towards turn 14 with no issues. When they picked up speed heading towards the bridge Andrew's car got tight and he almost scrapped the wall as he approached the chicane heading onto the pit straight.

Andrew growled as he entered the first two turns and into the s-curves. "That 130R is messing me up. I don't know what we can do on this track. I am tight all around.

"We will see what we can do for the race. Just try to relax.' Andrew huffed and finished the session in eighth of the cars that went. His main problems was once again the 130R he tried to keep the speed but the g-forces seem to make the car push into the turn. He was coming out of the trailer when he looked up and let out a wow. At the top of the board was the 03 of Gin Ichimaru who was close to the track record.

Ichigo had walked up to let him know what happened.

"You see that man." Ichigo said looking up at the tower.

"Yeah looks like Souske is going be the team to watch this weekend. Any word on Uryuu's time?"

"Yeah he was in fourth last I checked. Looks like the Japanese get to flex their muscles a bit with their cars." Ichigo said chuckling.

Andrew looked at him and nodded. "I don't think that will be the case at the races after this. The American tracks are more for power than technique.

Ichigo nodded and they went back to their garage to talk with their crews.

Sunday April 3rd

For once Ichigo and Andrew were up before most of the crew. The sun was barely up as they took a walk around the track. They walked down pit road and noticed a figure in the distance near the bridge. Walking up to it they saw it was Rukia who looking at a particular spot.

"Rukia." Ichigo said. The short woman looked to see the boys approach.

"Hey Ichigo." She said not looking up. "This is where it happened."

At their questioning looks she continued. "This is where Kaien's car lost its brakes. And he crashed into the barriers at the chicane almost at full speed and into the fence."

Andrew sighed. "It's tough losing someone close to you." He sai. He saw the sun raising in the east.

"And on the third day, those who followed Jesus came to the tomb to find it empty save the shroud he was buried in. The angel who was there told the followers the good news. That Jesus Christ had risen as foretold."

The Japanese duo looked confused. Andrew explained. "It's from the bible. Today is Easter Sunday in the Christian faith. I can assure you at least the American teams will be in a religious mood after the meeting today." Andrew said. "Rukia, he may be gone but he has paved the way to make our sport safer. I don't think he would want you moping around." Ichigo said.

Rukia scoffed. "I don't mope. But thank you." Rukia said as they made their way back to the garage area.

In one of the Souske pits Aizen was talking with Gin.

"This track sure brings back memories doesn't it Aizen."

Aizen looked passive. "Yes, seven years since we last came here. To think one popular driver's death could have meant the end of racing here."

Gin smiled like the fox he was. "Yeah. Well that's what you get for having bad brakes in a high speed area. Of course whether or not it was an accident will never be known. Right Aizen?"

Aizen nodded. "Go get ready Gin. The race begins in four hours."

Gin nodded and left. Aizen though looked out on pit road. 'I have let you Kurosaki whelps stay around too long. You will fall before the end of the season.' He thought as the sun continued to rise.

Three hours before race time

As Andrew was preparing for his shower, a knock on the door drew his attention. Walking up to it he was surprised to see Tatsuki with something behind her back.

"What's up Tatsuki?"

The black haired reporter smiled. "Well Orihime remembered today is a holiday at least to those that celebrate Easter. So she thought to go out and buy everyone chocolate." Tatsuki said holding out the box. "And well I helped Orihime pick out some stuffed animals and she thought a rabbit would be good for you." Tatsuki said holding out the stuffed rabbit. It looked really soft with white fur and unknown to everyone on board, he had a fondness for stuffed animals. Andrew smiled. "Thanks Tatsuki." Andrew said kissing her on the cheek. She stood still red as a tomato as Andrew came back out. "You alright you looked a little flushed?" Andrew asked concerned. Tatsuki snapped out of it and waved him off making up an excuse to leave. Andrew shook his head. "I will never understand girls." He said hoping in the shower. After his shower he went to his room. Grabbing his IPod he scrolled through the songs. Selecting one he threw it on the bed as he got ready.

(Pride (In the Name of Love) by U2: Don't own it)

Andrew took off his towel and pulled out his cleaned suit and started putting it on. He looked at something in the dresser and pulled it out. It was a cross and he decided to put it on.

Ichigo in his room was finishing up dressing in his suit and was fiddling with the gloves. On the other side of the door Orihime watched with a smile.

Uryuu was putting on his specially made glasses that don't interfere with the helmet. They were a little uncomfortable but they worked.

In Chad's room, he was praying but if you noticed his face there was a small tear going down his face.

The crews were moving the cars onto the grid. Shinji had finished moving Andrew's car when he caught sight of Souske. He gave him a stern look which was only broken up by Kensei moving him.

The fans with pit passes were clamoring for autographs as the popular drivers gave them. Ichigo and Andrew were finding that more wanted theirs and were happy to oblige.

All along the track priests were blessing the track. They didn't want to take any chances on this race so they wished for luck.

Up in the booths they were getting ready for the race. In the American booth they were eating some sweets that some of the staff brought over because they were missing their families at Easter.

In the Japanese booth they were praying for a good race as they remembered what happened here the last time they raced here.

The driver's meeting was quiet safe for Yammamato's speech about the race. When they dismissed the American teams gathered near each other to begin their impromptu service. Andrew walked over and asked to join them. Ichigo had come over and so had the girls. They listened as the man who led the Easter service talk about Jesus and his resurrection. Orihime listened with rapt attention while Andrew had his down listening in and out. The service broke up with a prayer and the drivers went their separate ways.

(End the song)

The two drivers meet up with their teammates and started walking towards the driver's introductions.

"That story about Christ-san was cool. Coming back to life after being falsely imprisoned, that sounds so mystical." Orihime said.

Andrew chuckled. "Yes it's a nice story. Easter is about resurrection and renewal." He stopped and looked up. "You know it's kind of fitting that the first race back here fell on this day in a country the revers death in a time of renewal. It's poetic in a way." Andrew said looking at the crew. "Sorry come on we got a race to run." He said as they made their way to introductions.

(T.V Intro) Japan's history is a rich, colorful one. (Temples are shown) Myths and legends shape (Dragons and other mythical creatures flash across the screen) the history of a country that honors its past (A shrine is shown) by letting the future coexist with it (Downtown Tokyo is shown). But for the last seven years of this Grand Prix, a memory that haunts this track like an evil demon (The fatal wreck of Kaien is shown). For this was the track where the last time a driver was killed in the Grand Prix. And for seven years they swore never to come back here. (The sun rises and sets) The track which has stood for a hundred years nearly faded away like dust in the wind. But a funny thing about Spring is that it brings a chance to renew its self and like a phoenix Suzuka is reborn faster and still as mean as ever.

In a way the World Grand Prix is like Japan. The veteran drivers (Brian Mcnish, Bjorn Kristensen, Archie Stewart and Serenity Gordon are shown one by one) show that history is not forgotten easily. But the new generation (Ichigo, Andrew, Ralph Dillon and Jessica Rosburg are shown in reverse order) has learned from the lessons of old and hope to make their own history while making sure the history of this sport is never forgotten.

(Japanese instruments are played up into a crescendo) This track may be old. But it still has its teeth and will eat any driver not ready for it. (Wrecks in the 130R the Spoon and the S-curves are shown). But seven years can mean many things. (The world is shown spinning and then zooming in on Suzuka) Today it means a new beginning. (The Japanese emperor is shown bowing and says in Japanese and then in English smiling at the end.)

日本へようこそNihon e yōkoso. Welcome to Japan.

(Fox Intro music plays as the camera pans over the track.)

Japanese Booth

Kommamura: As the eyes of the world descend on Japan, we welcome you to the fifth round of the World Grand Prix here at the Suzuka Circuit.

(Camera turns to Kommamura) Good Morning, Good Afternoon and Good Evening to all around the world and for those who celebrate Easter, we thank you for spending part of your holiday with us. We begin with a recap of last week and it was a duel from the green flag.

(Begin Montage) Jushiro: It was a battle between two conflicting personalities that's for sure and it began before the race in qualifying when Soi Fong apparently said something to tick off the normally docile Andrew Michaels. This feud continued through introductions as Soi Fong kept running her mouth. When the green flag flew these two could not separate themselves.

Kommamura: Equipment issues seem to plague a lot of drivers. As seen here Ichigo Kurosaki having trouble with the transmission that eventually retired him. But as the race came to an end it was Soi Fong and Andrew in the fight for the win. But it was the rookie who outsmarted the veteran in the street section and was able to lift the trophy. Now we got to our correspondent in the pits Kiyone Kotestu with last week's winner.

Kiyone: Thank you Sempai. Andrew you already have two wins which is impressive for a rookie driver. But you were battling with Soi Fong the entire weekend last week. How will that impact you this week?

Andrew: Well this is a business where you cannot focus on what happened last week. So I cleared it out of my head and essentially forgot about it. I had a fun week almost free of distractions and I am ready to see if Suzuka can be tamed.

K: Sounds like you got a plan. Thank you. Andrew. He rolls off eleventh. Back to you Jushiro.

After a couple more interviews it goes to the American Booth.

Jeremy: Thanks Jermaine. Now onto a more somber note. It has been seven years since the Grand Prix was here. The last time we were here, not all of the drivers walked away. We remember the event that brought changes to the Grand Prix and a mystery that some say is still unsolved.

(Suzuka is shown again.) The voice of Byakuya is heard. "Kaien Shiba was one of the best drivers I ever had the privilege to see race and to ever know."

(A Narrator's voice) Kaien Shiba was the hot prospect in the lower tiers of racing. When the time came to join a bigger team in 2056, Byakuya Kuchiki then a second year team owner taking over for his grandpa made the gamble and signed him.

"I was young, I knew about racing but to actually run a team I was in over my head my first year and we nearly dropped out of the first tier." Byakuya said.

Kaien would later say something drew him to that team. And like Chad Knaus and Jimmie Johnson of the old NASCAR something clicked. Kuchiki racing became a dynasty. Four single titles and six team titles. Times were good. Byakuya met his now wife Hisana and her sister Rukia. Rukia with his backing became a tour de force in the lower Japan tiers. On occasion, she worked the pits. Specifically in the number 64 of Kaien Shiba.

"I admit I had a crush on him but I was a bit young for him. Still he was the big brother I never got. He helped me get together with Ichigo." Rukia said smiling. "I was hoping to jump to the next tier the following season and Kaien was going to put in a good word with the Toyota factory team when it did happen."

(Sad music plays) On October 19th, 2063 the Grand Prix came to Suzuka Circuit for the Japan round. That season Kuchiki Industries was in a struggle with rookie team Souske limited. It was a sunny day and Rukia was in the pits. She had won a support race and was in the 64 pit working the tires. The race like most of the season came down to Souske driver Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez and Kuchiki driver Kaien Shiba. On the 83rd lap, Kaien came into the pits. Rukia was changing the front tires.

"I remember we were trying to get him out on the track fast. So if there was something wrong we didn't see it. Now I wish we did." Rukia said tearing up.

Kaien was down and away after the pit. Two laps later as Kaien was making his way through the 130R turn, he tried to put on the brakes but the brakes would not respind. In the video after the wreck, he was seeing trying to slow the car down before the chicane. At over 200 miles an hour, Kaien Shiba crashed into the barrier that made up the chicane. The car was launched into the fencing protecting the grandstand shredding it and injuring 80 spectators. The race was immediately halted and eventually ended. For Kaien Shiba, the race and his life ended when he hit the chicane. An autopsy revealed that he hit with enough force to break the HANS device and he died of a skull fracture.

But the post-crash analysis revealed two things. The brakes somehow failed at that precise moment when it had been working all race. The second was that the HANS device was found to be defective. Instead of being rated to withstand a 230 MPH wreck, it couldn't survive a 120 MPH wreck. Kaien was in a noose and no one knew about it.

The talk around the garage was that Souske had sabotaged Kaien's car. The reasoning is in the turn before the straight one lap earlier one of the Souske drivers, Yammy Largo bumped into him supposedly cutting the brake line. But with no evidence it was ruled a freak accident. Because of Kaien's death, the team would race with three drivers. The lack of a fourth driver cost them the team title as Grimmjow won the driver's title beginning the Souske dynasty.

But his death reverberated through the garage. One in particular that was affected was Rukia. When it was revealed that it was the front brakes that failed, Rukia went into a depression.

"I lost my nerve. I couldn't race again. I retired at the end of the season. I just…"Rukia breaks down.

(Serious music) After the wreck, the Grand Prix made a decision to stop coming here until it was proven that the track was safer. Seven years this track stood vacant. But now they are ready to take the chance on a track that holds a history like Suzuka. And the number 64 will race again, this time under the command of one Renji Abarai.

"It's an honor to race in this number. I thank Byakuya for letting me drive in this car."

"It's what Kaien would have wanted. To come back to this race track and race again. And to have his number race again" Byakuya said as the camera pans to the track and fades away.

Back in the American booth.

Jeremy: Powerful stuff. We will be back with pre-race ceremonies.

Fifteen minutes later the ceremonies were done and the drivers were strapping into their cars.

At the 64 car Renji was strapping in when Byakuya walked up to him.

"Renji. Do your best. This car is probably one of the best we ever had. Kaien would be proud of your progress."

Renji nodded. "Thank you sir." The stoic man left for the booth. Rukia stayed behind.

"Renji…be careful." She said only half of her body was above the bottom of the opening. Renji smiled and grabbed her hand getting a blush from her. Across from them, Aizen was in between his two drivers.

"Gin…Tier…you are better than these lower beings. Make these people realize Souske is the best.

Gin waved him off. "Of course Aizen."

Tier nodded. "Yes Aizen-sama." Aizen went towards the pits.

A little further down the top drivers for Kurosaki were sitting diagonally from each other. Ichigo had placed his helmet on. Looking at the charm on his dash he placed his hand on it.

'Mom. Watch over me and our team.' He thought as he looked ahead. Andrew who was behind them was calm as the crew started walking away.

"Hey." Andrew panicked. He calmed down when he saw it was Tatsuki. "Tatsuki don't do that. Sorry I was in the zone."

Tatsuki smiled. "Be careful big guy." She said walking away. Andrew recomposed himself.

"Now Ladies and Gentleman the moment you have been waiting for. Please welcome your Grand Marshall. The Emperor of this great nation of Japan. Emperor Kenichi."

The crowd cheered and those of Japanese citizenship bowed in respect as the young man stepped onto the stage. This was one of his first public appearances since his grandfather died last year.

"Ladies and Gentleman of the world. I thank you for coming to our country and this track. Now then I believe it goes. Drivers. START YOUR ENGINES." The crowd's cheer was drowned out by the roars of the engines.

American Booth

Jeremy: An enthusiastic roar greets the young emperor as the engines roar to life. As we see the cars roll down the track we take a look at what is going make-up the Honda 400.

Nate: This is going to be a 111 lap race. Fuel window is estimated at about 24-27 laps. The track is fast especially from the spoon turns 12-14 through what is called the 130R.

Jeremy: Three things to keep an eye on this race. The first is the aforementioned 130R.

Nate: It is deceptively fast. It has been compared to Blanchimont turn at Spa. Many fatal wrecks including Kaien Shiba's wreck have occurred on or near this turn.

Jeremy: Also important are the S-curves as you need to come out of there in control as they can be a little fast.

Nate: Finally the bridge. This is the only track that crosses its self like this and it can be a little disorienting. This track may not have been raced on but this track still has its teeth.

Jeremy: Now on the second pace lap let's see if we can talk to someone.

Nate: Let's go with the shark Tier Harribel. Miss Harribel, this is Nate Jarrett from the American booth do you read me?"

"Yes Mr. Jarrett."

"You qualified second alongside your teammate Gin. How's the car feel.

"It feels like it can take on anything. I feel that the Souske Limited cars are ready to make a move starting with this race.

"Alright. So this is the first time in seven years that we are racing on Suzuka. How do you think you will do?"

"This track is said to have teeth. You know what else has teeth. Sharks."

"Okay then, good luck Ms. Harribel." Nate said cutting her off. Turning to Jeremy off camera. "I can feel the coldness in her voice.

Jeremy tried to look professional. "Her head is in the game. Let's just focus on calling the race."

One lap later the pace car's lights were extinguished the atmosphere was tense as they lined up to take the flag. After getting through turn 14 the pace car sped up to allow the cars to go. The track lights lit up and the all accelerated down the straight over the bridge. They slowed up to the chicane and they saw the stands where the green flag was displayed. Surprisingly there were no incidents at the chicane as they sped down into turn one. Gin and Tier were able to get by Renji and came out of the second turn in the s-curves one and two. Behind Renji, Uryuu got shuffled out of line and Schumacher and Ichigo got around him. Behind them Andrew was fighting Mcnish as they started go into the S-curves. They straightened out slightly as they approached the turn heading under the bridge. Serenity was fighting off Ulquiorra who shut the door on her going into turn nine causing her to lose her momentum heading toward the hairpin turn 10 and 11. Heading up towards the Spoon turns 12, 13 and 14 the front six or seven cars got through unscathed. Rebecca got loose and had a little help from Soi Fong that nudged her into the run off area allowing the next four drivers around her. Going down the fast stretch some of the cars nearly ran into the wall but they were able to keep off it. Going into the chicane Gin and Tier were still the front two as they completed lap one with Renji in third and Archie in fourth.

Japan Booth

Kommamura: As we complete lap one; it's the Fox and Shark of Souske, Gin Ichimaru and Tier Harribel. Followed closely by Renji Abarai from Kuchiki in third followed by Archie Stewart from Stewart-Haas and then Uryuu Ishida from Kurosaki in fifth. But he is being challenged by Ferrari's George Schumacher.

Jushiro: As they straighten out we will start seeing separation and we already have a caution on the track. Lap two as we see one car end

Kommamura: Looks like Ralph Dillon in the 3 he spun out into the run off area in one and two and tapped the wall. The track is tight and fast there will be bumps and spins. The full course yellow is more a safety thing than anything. As we work lap three I doubt we will see any takers.

Jushiro: Maybe towards the back but the front group will stay put.

After making sure nothing is wrong, the race was restarted on lap five. Gin and Tier led them down to the green flag. Tier got a better jump at the restart and was able to get around Gin before entering the S-Curves. Behind them Archie and George were battling each for fourth with Renji trying his best to avoid running into him. Behind them Uryuu went wide coming out of turn 2 and allowed Ichigo to pass him. He made his displeasure known to his father as he sped through the S-curves.

"Father this car is tight I seem to be losing my touch on these turns."Uryu said.

"Wait for the fuel to burn off and see if it loosens up."

"I fear if I loosen up I might spin out." Uryuu said going under the bridge.

Behind Uryuu, a familiar grudge match was brewing and the commentators noticed.

American booth

Nate: Looks like what Soi Fong and Andrew Michaels started in Korea has carried over to here.

Jeremy: They go into the Spoon Andrew looks underneath Fong and she shuts the door nearly colliding with him. Andrew is forced to back off as they head towards the 130R."

Andrew showed his frustration to Kisuke.

"Kisuke…remember what I said about Grimmjow at Abu Dhabi."

"Calm down. I am sure Yoruichi wouldn't want you to hurt her little bee." Kisuke said nervously.

"Well she is not my crew chief. By the way besides that little incident I am having trouble driving off the turns especially the right handers.

"We will work on it just don't spin people out."

"No promises if they are too slow." Andrew said causing Kisuke to sweatdrop.

One lap later, they were in the same turn and Andrew tried the same move. Soi Fong went to block but this time he let his car drift out of the turn forcing her to back off and he took the position which got her mad.

A little bit further back Serenity and Chad were battling through the middle of the pack. Chad even though he was mostly silent he did complain it was a loose car. Serenity was just trying to get around Grimmjow who had stalled her progress which was frustrating her to no end.

Up at the front it had calmed down somewhat as the front five remained the same as Tier led the pack. Around lap 21 Gin beat her down the stretch into the spoon and was able to take the lead as pit stops were being negotiated up and down pit road.

Japan Booth

Kommamura: Pit stops are coming in the next couple of laps what seems to be the call on pit road.

Jushiro: I'm hearing a lot of tight race cars which means that the front is slow to turn. The track seems to be trying to force them into the walls.

On the track it was lap 24. Gin and Tier were going to come in next time by along with Renji. The three broke off and started heading down the pit. Gin and Tier were about seven to eight seconds ahead of the red head

Jeremy: As three of the four leaders come in on this lap we go to our pit reporters.

Jermaine: Gin has been mostly quiet on the radio save for the fact his car has been great, four tires and fuel for the fox. Meanwhile Tier has mentioned her car is a little tight in the s-curves four tires and fuel plus a small air change.

Nate: Now for Renji a little further up the pit, Kiyone?

Kiyone: He is complaining of a tight car and is pushing on the sweeping turn over the bridge. A round up on the trackbar and…oh no he's stalled. The crew is desperately trying to restart the car and he does get it re-fired a lot of time lost on the pit stop.

Nate: Tough break bit at least its early he can recover from this as we work lap 25 with Ralph Hamilton in the lead for now.

In the 64 car, Renji was furious.

"What the heck happened right now Iba?"

In the 64 pit a man that looked like a Yakuza man with sunglasses was panicking. "Renji I'm sorry man. I guess you were low on fuel.

"God damn it. ARRGHHH!"

Renji eventually found he was about 11th after they cycled through the pit stops.

American Booth

Nate: The first round of pit stops are complete and Gin has retaken the lead and we have a caution on the speedway.

Jeremy: Two cars into the barrier at the Spoon. It's the 17 of Michael Kennseth and the 007 of Rebecca Kirkland. They ended up in the barrier as we work lap 27. Let's see what happened.

Nate: Looks like Kenseth got over zealous and hopped the curb. When he did that he ran into the 007. The momentum carried them into barriers. It's nice to see the SAFER barrier do its job but those cars are done as we see both window nets down signaling they are okay.

Jeremy: We are on lap 28 everyone had stopped by now so I doubt we will see any takers.

Nate: Yeah it's too soon after the first cycle to try something as we see the 004 coming in. Harry what is up with Massa.

Harry: (As Massa comes in) He was doing great for the first twenty laps or so. Then something went off in the engine and he has been falling back. The hood is up on the Porsche and they are looking at the engine. The engine is off and I can see them shaking their heads. It appears that engine is quitting on them. A bad break for the Red Bull driver

Jeremy: Tough break indeed that will hurt the Red Bull team points wise as they aren't doing well today.

One lap later the two cars that wrecked were removed and they lined up. Conversations were taking place up and down the grid.

Renji was still venting his frustrations to Iba. "11th place that's where we ended up. What the heck happened?"

"We believe that when you stopped you were almost out of gas. So when you stopped the fuel catch ran dry when you tried to hit the gas." Iba said.

"Kami damn it." Renji said groaning.

One lap later they were back to racing with Gin and Tier leading the back. Archie who was third was now holding off Schumacher which resulted in Archie losing the position heading into turn 8.

The drivers settled down but Renji was storming back through the field easily getting around six cars in front of him leaving Tier and Gin in front of him. He grinned and radioed to Iba.

"Iba how far am I back."

"…one second to Tier and about another half second to Gin at the last line I think if you play it right you can get Tier at the hairpin.

"Alright let's see if we can pull this off." Renji said. A lap later he was right on the 003's bumper as they drove through the S-curves. Going under the bridge Renji was able to use the slipstream or draft to pull up right behind her and as they entered the hairpin, Renji was able to nudge his way past the blonde and completed the pass coming out of the turn.

Japan booth

Kommamura: Renji is tearing through the field after stalling on pit road. He just passed Tier for second and is gunning for Gin.

Jushiro: He has recovered quite well as he so far has been the only one that has kept up with the Mazdas today.

On the track Gin was climbing through the gears on the sweeping turn and noticed Renji approaching him.

"Well, well. Looks like the baboon still has some bite. Better put up some effort." He said smiling as he came down pass the line. Not even a second later Renji passed the line looking to pass Gin. Going into the S-curves he gained ground as they sped through the turns heading towards turn 9. He got up really close to back bumper of the 009 and that was enough to make Gin loose and Renji was able to sneak around and complete the pass heading towards the hairpin.

American Booth

Jeremy: They go into turn 9 and Gin get a little loose that is enough for Renji to slip through as they go under the bridge.

Nate: They did something with this car on the last pit stop and he tore through the rest of the field. The Kuchiki camp must be proud of their progress after stalling on pit road.

Gin and Renji were one and two for the next several laps until it was finally time to do pit stops. Both Gin and Renji pulled off on lap 51 allowing for Schumacher to take the lead for a lap before pulling for Ichigo letting him get a bonus point before he too pulled off. When Gin assumed the lead he had a two second advantage on Renji and that was because they wanted to pack as much fuel as they could.

The long green flag run spread the field out and allowed the leaders to put the stragglers a lap down. As the third round of pit stops were occurring Gin and Renji were coming in for their third stop on lap 74.

Japan Booth.

Jushiro: The leaders are coming down pit road as the third round of stops occurs with about thirty-five laps to go (camera pans away to a wreck coming down the pit) Trouble. Car off of its wheels it's the 88. And it looks like he collected two other cars as other cars behind them try to avoid the wreck. They slide into the run off let's see who the other cars are

Kommamura: I see a three. It's Dale's teammate Ralph Dillon as he slides to a stop heavy damage to the car. The bump knocked Earnhardt off the car underneath him, and it's the 32 Kurosaki car, Uryuu Ishida.

Jushiro: This wreck looked bad fortunately all the nets are down indicating to the safety crews they are all okay.

Kommamura: Let's see. They are coming out of the chicane and it looks like Ralph got a little close to Dale when he tried to pass him and misread where he was in relation to his teammate. When did that they got sent into the wall. Uryuu who was traveling on the outside was in the wrong place as Dale hit him and jumped onto the hood. Ralph then tried to get out of it and something was definitely broken because he only could not get off the wall and he slid into the run off area.

At the same time as the wreck

Uryuu was talking with his father about the next pit stop.

"Alright what do you need?" Ryuken said.

"Well the car is a little tight in some of these turns. So I could-Whoa. Hang On Hang on."

"Uryuu! What's going on?"

There was Radio silence for the next few moments as the crews saw the wreck going down the stretch.

"… (Buzz) Dad are you there?"

"Uryuu…thank kami. What happened? Are you okay.

"Evidently a couple of our Hendrick buddies got into each other and I was caught in the crossfire. As for my health well I know what a pancake feels like. I'm climbing out talk to you in the garage."

Ryuken acknowledged and ordered the crew to pack up.

Uryuu climbed out which was tough considering he was up against the wall. But he did so and waved to the crowd. The other drivers climbed out and were escorted to the ambulances.

American Booth

Jeremy: All the drivers are out and okay as clean-up in turns one and two commence. Now then this caution nearly hurt both of the leaders. (Replay on the pits begins) This is a split screen. Gin is on the left and Renji on the right. Both of them come in. They begin service and as seen here they are beginning to change the other side the caution comes out. They are able to complete their service and get out before the leaders could meet with the pace car.

Nate: And I believe that would be the 91 of Andrew Michaels. That's a bonus point for the American. He will lead the drivers down next time by. I believe six drivers were able to stop before the caution so most of the cars still running will be in this time by.

Jeremy: Here they come with about 35 laps to go. Jermaine.

Jermaine: The Kurosaki rookie is complaining of a loose race car they are going to reverse the change they had on the last stop. Meanwhile the are going to go up on the air pressure on his teammate. Kiyone

Kiyone: They are making a small wedge change to help with cornering on the 14. Meanwhile with the 10 George Schumacher, it has been loose off a change in air pressure and he's down and away.

As the cars pulled off, Gin and Renji were second and third behind Maria Robertson who decided to stay out and lead a lap and then came in leaving Gin back in first with his teammate in third. Surprisingly, Ikkaku Mandarame had climbed into the top ten into ninth as he had been quietly coming through the field. The crews finished cleaning up the wreck and two laps later they were getting ready for the restart. When it dropped on lap 80 Gin got a good start while Renji spun the tires and backed up a lot of people behind him and allowed a few to get around him. When it was settled he had fallen back to 8th which got him absolutely furious with his crew chief.

"Iba what the heck did you put on these tires?" He yelled into the radio.

"Sorry I guess the tires weren't cleaned off enough." Renji growled and fell behind his teammate and finally got going again near the bridge. Up near the front Gin and Tier had separated from the pack by about five seconds.

Five laps later the order was Gin, Tier, Francesca was in third after some pit strategy, Andrew, Jason Vettal, Ichigo, Shawn Newman who was having a good run, then Renji and Ikkaku followed by Schumacher.

After finally getting settled down, Renji and Ikkaku started to make their way towards the front of the field. Within a lap they had gotten around Shawn and had their sights on Ichigo.

Renji saw the black and white 15 in front of him as he went through the s-curves. "Sorry Ichigo but this is my race to win." Renji said shifting gears and he got around the 15. Ikkaku followed after the hairpin which got the red head to groan.

Japan booth

Kommamura: Renji is around Ichigo for 6th. Teammate Ikkaku is right behind them as he takes 7th.

Jushiro: They are climbing the standings but most if not all the leaders have to stop for fuel probably around lap 100. This is going to come down to how much they can enough fuel to the end.

On track about four laps later they had gotten around Vettal and had turned their attention onto Andrew. He called Kisuke.

"Kisuke what's the separation between me and Kuchiki drivers."

"…one and half seconds at the line they are closing in fast."

Andrew was quiet in thought going around turns 3 and 4. "Yuzu tell the Kuchiki spotter if they are willing to be patient I will let them by after the Spoon

"Got it Andrew." Yuzu said. She turned to the Kuchiki spotter. "Mr. Koga. Andrew said if Ikkaku and Renji are patient he would be willing to let them by after the Spoon."

Koga smiled and rubbed her head. "Thanks little lady. Renji, Ikkaku did you get that. Andrew is willing to let you go just be a little patient and wait for the straight after the Spoon."

"Roger." Both drivers acknowledged. After racing a little more they got around the spoon and started climbing through the gears. They noticed Andrew slowing down and saw a hand pointing towards the driver's side. They quickly sped up and saluted to American driver.

Andrew sighed. "Well can't win them all. Kisuke how are we going to set up the stop."

"You did the smart thing there are other races." Kisuke said as they discussed their final stop.

Two laps later the Kuchiki duo caught up to Francesca who also let them by leaving the two to face off against the Souske cars.

American Booth

Jeremy: We are inside twenty laps to go and Kuchiki duo is climbing back up the field.

Nate: I think they had some help. I heard Andrew talk to the Kurosaki spotter about letting them by. Also think the Ferrari spotter told Alonso to let them by too.

Jeremy: Who can blame them? They are about three tenths faster but the gap is about three seconds. It is going to come down to the pit stops. The leaders with exception of Ikkaku have the front stalls. The question is going to be who can get off the pit lane faster.

Nine laps late on lap 100 most of the drivers were forced to come in to top off on fuel. The front four were going to come in the next time by.

American booth

Jeremy: All the leaders are coming in next time by this will decide the race.

Nate: Leaders are going to be right next each with the exception of Ikkaku this could be an issue with Renji.

Lap 101 all of them came down. Ikkaku was the first one in and he came and topped off. Further down the lane, Gin, Tier and Renji were coming to their crews.

Renji pulled in and they plugged in the pipe. Byakuya was counting them down

"Wait…Wait…Go now." He said as they let Renji go and he sped around Tier who had to around Gin. She however was forced to stop as Ikkaku came barreling down pit road while Gin just had to move forward being the pole sitter. In the end Renji won the race off pit road and Ikkaku split the Souske drivers.

Japan Booth

Kommamura: Unbelievable, Renji was able to get enough fuel and beat both Souske drivers off. Ikkaku coming from further up pit road cuts off Tier and splits up the Souske drivers.

Jushiro: That was impressive by the Kuchiki duo. With nine laps to go it is a definite possibility of those two taking the top spots on the podium.

On track Gin frowned a bit. "My, my these two are persistent. Well played you two."

As the laps wound down the crowd was cheering every time Renji came across the line. With about five laps to go Ikkaku managed to get around Gin and now were one and two. The laps ticked away as the crowd felt that Renji could do it. As he came down to take the white flag the crowd was on its feet cheering on Renji as he hit his marks and sped through the straights.

Japan booth

Kommamura: Down the last major straight, Renji and Ikkaku one and two the checkered flag is in the air and for the first time in 15 years, a home driver has won the Japanese Grand Prix as Renji Abarai wins it.

On pit road, the crew was ecstatic as Renji drove around for his victory lap with Ikkaku drove around behind him.

Byakuya took off his head gear and sighed. He stepped down and saw Rukia who had happy tears in her eyes.

"Kaien would have been proud. Rukia I believe we have a driver to congratulate." Byakuya said walking towards victory lane with Rukia following him

On the track Renji was doing his burnouts. Stopping the car he climbed onto the roof and raised his hands in celebration. Climbing back in, he drove into victory lane. Climbing out again, he whopped and hollered as the crowd cheered him and sprayed him with drinks.

Jermaine had found his way through the jubilation and got to Renji.

Jermaine: Renji for the first time in fifteen years a Japanese born driver has won its grand prix. How do you feel about this?
Renji: That was freaking awesome. I thank the Kuchiki Industries team for giving me this opportunity. This win isn't just for them it's for Japan." Renji said raising hand getting the crowd to cheer again. Rukia came over and gave him a hug as well.

On the podium, Ikkaku and Renji sprayed each other and hugged each other in celebration. Gin stood off to the side with a fake smile. In the crowd Aizen growled and walked away vowing they would get into the win column.

With that Japan's grand prix was over with Kuchiki win over Souske. But the season has only begun. What will happen when the Grand Prix heads to America? Find out on Bleach Grand Prix.

A/N: End of Chapter.

UO: Damn this chapter would not want to be written. But I got it done.

Relevant terms to know.

Suzuka Circuit (Look back at chapter 3 for it)

Le Mans: The race is formally known as the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This race has been around since 1923 and takes place on the Circuit de le Sarthe outside the town of Le Mans, France. Instead of a set distance you need to complete fastest, this gives you a set amount of time to go the farthest with your cars equipment. This type of racing is called sports car or Endurance racing. Typically lengths are 6 hours but the most prominent are the 12 hours of Sebring in Florida held in March, the 12 Hours of Daytona held in mid-February and the 24 Hours of Le Mans held in June. Because of the distance multiple drivers typically two or three are used and are swapped out as needed. There are four classes of cars run at the same time running for their respective class wins in addition to the overall win. Currently there are two classes of Prototype cars built exclusively for the race. LMP1 are those with factory backing and LMP2 are typically privateer entries. There are also two classes of Grand Tourer or GT an amateur and a pro classes. These cars are the sports cars you would expect on the show room like Corvettes, Porches, Ferraris and the like. Many technologies found in these cars eventually find their way to the show rooms. In this story Team Audi Europe and Team Ferrari are descended from teams that raced in these. Porsche which the Red Bull team runs in this story in real life has 100 total class wins in all classes, including 16 overall wins. The Zangetsu car would be in the LMP1 class because they have factory support.

The Tier System: In this story racing is divided into several leagues called divisions like soccer in various countries. The winner of a lower division can move up provided they have the resources to do so. The Grand Prix is divided into three tiers, the World Grand Prix, GP2 and GP3. When a team is dropped from GP3 back to their home division, a meeting of those in the three Grand Prix divisions will vote which team to promote. To make it fair they rotate which part of the world they give emphasis to. This season its America so its possible for a team from the four major leagues, IRL Pro, NASCAR A, the GT endurance championship and Craftsmen Truck series to make a jump if they won their division. If they can't they move onto the next team. If no team can't which is unlikely they will move to another part of the world

Preview

After traveling for a while it's nice to have a week off. Especially now the Kurosaki team has parted ways for the moment with Hendrick. Maybe it's a good thing they left as most of the mansion falls ill for part of their break. If they feel better maybe they could got to the games expo that is being held in Tokyo. Hopefully they won't be too distracted and let their guards down. What will happen? Find out.
