Hey y'all, so I am finally back with the new chapter and I hope that you like this one! Also, this chapter is a bit more fluffy towards the end, so I hope you enjoy that because I do predict there will be some angst in the near future (not too much, but still).

Enjoy!

Her husband's hand rested at the apex of her thighs and she couldn't help but whimper as he stroked her through her gown. The blonde did not want to react to him in such a way, but it seemed like her body had a mind of its own.

The little voice in her head was screaming at her to push him away before they did anything further, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. The queen was a woman after all and a young one at that who hasn't felt her husband's touch in months. She felt the burning sensation in the pit of her stomach and shut her eyes as she relished in the feelings that her husband brought out in her as he continued to stroke her at a slow pace.

She bucked her hips into his hand and he groaned as his other hand squeezed her breast.

"Tell me what you want, sweetheart." He whispered into her ear.

Caroline wanted to throw caution to the wind and take what her husband was giving her, but she knew that could not give into him so easily. Not after everything that he put her through because he was too much of a coward to actually confide in her and ask her the burning question that was on the tip of his tongue.

Before the blonde pushed him away, she bucked her hips one more time and her hand slowly trailed down to his length. She clutched him through his trousers and felt the hard evidence there.

He wants me, she realized as a feeling of victory trailed through her body.

She moved her small hand up and down his length and once he groaned and pushed her into the mattress in order to climb atop her, her eyes shot open.

"Get off of me." She ordered even though her body craved the complete opposite of those words.

"What?" He questioned as his eyes widened in disbelief.

"You heard me, Niklaus. Do not touch me ever again!" She snapped before she removed her hand from his length and shoved him away.

Klaus held in his spot and glared down at her and she was certain that he had other things in mind. The thought of him forcing himself upon her frightened her, but she refused to show it. It was enough to have gone through what she did as she heard him in the adjoining bedchamber doing things to his whores and making them scream in their passion with her just a couple of feet away. She was not going to give herself up to him no matter what, not until he begged for it.

"Love, you cannot be serious." He said, his voice dangerously low. "You wanted me."

"Did I?" She questioned. "I do not know whether or not that was the case, your grace. I simply had a lapse in judgement, but please do rest assured that that will never happen again. Do you truly believe that I would sleep with you after everything that you have done to me?"

"I apologized a million times over, Caroline." He snapped as he lay beside her on the chaise. He was breathing heavily and his nostrils were flaring.

"Your apology means nothing to me, Niklaus. I will never forgive you for everything that you did because of your lack of self-esteem. Do you know how I felt when I was pregnant with Landyn?" She asked even though she knew the answer.

He shook his head sadly and she scoffed before she turned away from him.

"Exactly," she whispered.

"What did you go through?" The king questioned and the blonde realized that his question caught her off guard.

"Do you truly want to know?"

"Yes," he nodded even though she could not see him.

"Fine," she sighed. "When I first found out that I was pregnant, I was the happiest person in the world. I was going to have your child after all and at the time I did love you…"

"Did?" He asked and she heard the breath he drew in.

"Do not sound so surprised, Niklaus." Caroline ordered and when he didn't say anything, she continued. "You cannot expect me to not harbor any hard feelings for you."

"What I did was wrong, I understand that." He sighed. "But allow me to fix it. I will if you promise that you will give me a chance."

"Why should I give you a chance, though?" She questioned. "Every time I heard you in the other room, my heart broke just a little bit, but eventually I stopped caring. Why should I have to care when that was affecting my health as well as Landyn's, anyway?"

"Landyn's health?" He asked. "Your health?"

"I was stressed out, Niklaus. Surely, you understand that I had reason to be after the way you acted. You refused to even come and see me even when I was at my worst. I was passed out in the bathroom for god's sake and you were there, but you did absolutely nothing. You saw me and you walked out without so much as a care."

"I was in a bad place at the time, Caroline. I am sorry for the way I treated you, but that will never happen again. I'm trying for god's sake!"

"Not hard enough," she told him before she got off of the chaise and walked over to the windows.

With a sigh, Klaus stood up and he walked over to her before he wrapped his hands around her middle and brought her flush against his front. Caroline did not react.

He inhaled the floral smell of her hair and shivered as he lay his chin on the top of her golden halo.

At that moment, the king realized that he was a brute that did not deserve the beauty in his arms.

"I'm sorry." He said again.

"So am I," she sighed with a shake of her head.

"Will you ever forgive me, Caroline?" He asked. "Please say that you will! You must because I will change. I am trying to change for you and our son. Landyn needs his parents to be together. He needs to see that he is loved by both of us."

"Landyn is only five months old, Niklaus."

"Call me Nik," he begged. "Or Klaus, but not my full name."

"How can I when I can barely stand the sight of you?" She questioned and Klaus immediately flinched away from her and backed up a couple of steps.

"Do you truly find me so disgusting?"

"How can I not when you had a new woman in your bed everyday? Do you know what that did to me? Do you have any idea how much it hurt me knowing that you were making love to your whores instead of me? Your own wife?" Caroline asked as she felt her eyes fill up with moisture.

"They meant nothing to me, Caroline." He told her. "I swear on my own life that none of them meant anything to me. They were simply a means to an end, but you were always the real deal even when I thought that you gave up your virtue to another man when you knew I was your betrothed."

"Niklaus, please just leave me be." She begged, her voice barely above a whisper. "I cannot talk to you about this again. I do not want to remember what happened on the day that was supposed to be the happiest day of my life."

"I am not asking you to remember, I am simply trying to get through to you. I love you, Caroline. I always have."

"I want to believe you, your grace, but I simply cannot do it- not after what you put me through and even though I know that I continue to repeat myself, it is the truth and you know it."

"Will you at least give me the chance to make things right?"

"Yes," she admitted. "But you have one last chance, Niklaus. If you continue to threaten me with taking away my son, I will have no choice, but to act against you. I am a mother and at the moment, Landyn is my first priority. After all, he is the only man that I love."

"What about me?"

"You were on that list before, but now I am afraid you are not." She told him truthfully.

"Okay," he whispered.

"Okay?" She questioned, the confusion evident in her voice.

"I will try and change for you, Caroline."

"I do not want you to change, though… I simply want you to admit that you were wrong and I want you to mean it."

"I do mean it." He told her immediately.

"No, you don't." She shook her head. "How can you when just an hour ago you were ready to throw me into a cell because of a rumor that you heard? You do not trust me even though you know what happened to me and if I am being completely honest, I do not trust you either. For now, I simply think that we should try and build the friendship that we once had because thinking that we will start off where we left off when we were young and in love is not something that makes sense. This is not a fairytale in which we live happily ever after in without some obstacles in the way. Just think that this situation between us is just that- an obstacle that if we achieve it may lead to our happily ever after."

"So, you believe that we still have a chance at a happily ever after?"

"I know that I shouldn't, but I do and that may be because I am still young and naive, but maybe not. Only time will tell, Niklaus."

"Okay," he agreed. "But can you please call me Klaus? That is what you called me when we first met, not Niklaus."

"Sure," she smiled. "That can be the first step in our attempt to make things right between us."

"Okay, good." He said before he pressed his lips to her forehead in a chaste kiss.

Caroline nodded and he walked towards the double mahogany doors. As he placed his hand on the door knob, he turned in her direction and gave her a warm smile that gave him almost a boyish look- one that was carefree and happy.

"I will make sure that Landyn is returned to you shortly, Caroline and I promise that I will not threaten to take him away from you anymore now that we have come to a new understanding."

"Thank you," she thanked him as she exhaled a visible breath of relief and smiled genuinely.

"You are most welcome, my lady." He bowed like a gentleman would to a lady that he fancied.

Caroline laughed out loud and shook her head as she felt a blush creeping onto her cheeks. He was already getting on her good side, but she knew that it could all very well be an act which was why she decided to try and be a lot more guarded when he was around.

"Will I see you at dinner?" He asked as he ran his fingers through his dirty blonde curls which gave him an unkempt look, but made him seem a lot more attractive.

"I do believe so, your grace." She answered, her voice warm, but not too warm.

"Very good," he smiled. "Do you think that Landyn can join us tonight in the dining hall?"

"Well, I do not know if that is a wise decision, but yes he can unless of course he falls asleep. Little Landyn sure does love his beauty sleep."

The parents chuckled and a new understanding between them seemed to grow. Maybe they truly did have a second chance to find their happiness with each other.

"I will see you later, Caroline." He told her as a goofy smile appeared on his lips.

"Yes, you will, Klaus." She curtsied.

There you have it! I hope this chapter was alright and I do apologize if it doesn't make much sense, but I wrote this in fifty minutes, so it may not, lmaooo. Also, I am sorry that it is kind of short, but I thought that it would be wise to have this be just a Klaroline chapter!
