"About time you got back," Leo snapped when his little sister walked through the door with a smile on her face. "We've waited on you for almost an hour."
"I told you before I left I was going to be late," Luna retorted as sat on the couch besides Crow who unwrapped the bandages on her right arm. "Can we go one day where you aren't complaining that we're dating?"
"I agree." Crow stated after tossing the bundle on the coffee table. "It's starting to get annoying. We all voted and half of us approved."
"Don't forget Crow we could do a re-vote." Jack interjected on the argument as he drunk the twins' coffee.
"But we need Akiza to do the re-vote," the black-wing duelist argued. "She makes the final decision."
"We could have Sherry-"
"No," everyone else said at the same time interrupting Yusei.
"But she's-"
"So have you contacted Misty or Carly?" Luna questioned wanting to change the subject. Ever since Akiza had disappeared on them, Yusei had tried desperately to have Sherry welcomed in the group. They have refused to make her part of the team for four years now.
"I called up Misty last night," Crow added on. "She hasn't changed, no mark or anything. She said she was hanging out with Kallen and Carly when they changed into a dark signer again. She doesn't know why she wasn't turned."
"Maybe because Akiza's not here." Jack suggested as he took a drink from the coffee again. "Think about it. Misty was the dark signer that dueled against Akiza. Misty doesn't even have a reason to fight against us anymore because you-know-who was the real enemy."
"That's true!" Leo agreed as he jumped on the couch in-between Crow and Luna. "We got one less duelist to worry about!"
"If we find Akiza then-"
"Akiza is gone Luna." Yusei told her with a slight glare. "Face the facts. We haven't heard from or about her. It's been years since we've last saw her, we don't even know who saw her last before she 'disappeared'. For all we know she could be dead."
The silence in the room lingered for a few moments until Crow muttered something under his breath.
"What was that?"
Crow looked up, eye level to the turbo king. "I was the last one to see her," he repeated. "She got into a crash because the man she was turbo-dueling got mad and made her crash. She and her duel-runner shatter a section of the bridge and she fell a few feet away where I was at."
"No way," the twins said in awe, knowing the story already.
"Yeah, way." He leaned forward looking at his hands that he held. "When we got to the hospital the nurses and doctors could tell that so many things were broken or damaged. Before she was taken into surgery she told me to call her brother on her phone and tell him what happened. He and his parents arrived five minutes before she got out." Crow sighed before leaning back on the couch, closing his eye, recalling the events. "Her brother wouldn't stop worrying about her. Every ten seconds he'd ask the nurse if she was okay or if the doctors were done with the operation. When they were, and told us so, he ran down the hallway to her room before the doctor could tell us how injured she was. A couple minutes later we went to her room and saw her brother laying down beside her bed, crying, saying how glad he was that she was alive."
"What was her brother's name?" the twins asked at the same time again.
"I won't say because you already know."
"So your friend is actually Yuma's sister?" Shark summed up as the couple walked the long way to school. They had left their homes earlier than usual so they could walk to their destination alone for once. "Why didn't he tell you two?"
"Maybe because she doesn't want us to find her." Luna thought logically.
"What are you planning on doing?"
"Leo and I decided last night we're going to confront Yuma about it sometime this week." She answered as she laid her head on his shoulder. "Hopefully she has some idea about these Barians we're dealing with."
"Ask Yuma." Shark suggested. "He has dealt with them lots of times, same goes for me."
"Can you tell me about them?" she requested as she rubbed her head on him. "I'll love you forever if you do."
"You already do." He teased as he kissed her temple. "And I love you."
Luna looked up at him as Shark looked down at her. Her eyes showed her seriousness as she asked, "Promise?"
"Promise what?"
She got out of their embrace and stepped a foot away. "A majority of people at school are saying your dating me because your going to use me."
"They're liars."
"Then promise me, you'll never use me and you'll love me forever, no matter what."
Suddenly Shark grabbed her shoulders push her against the light pole, not to where it would hurt her of course, and held her tight against it so she couldn't escape. Luna opened her mouth to say something but nothing came out as Shark leaned forward, their faces an inch apart. He tilted his head slightly as he went in for the kill. As soon as their lips touched, electricity was sent through their body, literally. The kiss was slow, gentle even. But as Luna grabbed the back of his head to pull him closer, her arm felt like it was going to melt off from her mark burning so bad. But that didn't stop her from enjoying it.
A couple minutes later they broke apart, their breathing irregular. "I love you Luna." Shark repeated in a whisper. "Nothing will stop me from loving you forever. I will never even think about using you. I promise and so you'll believe me. . ." He let go of her to grab a card from inside his deck holder and placed in her hand face down. "This card was given to me from my father the day before he and my mother died from the car crash. It means everything to me and I want you to have it."
Luna smiled as she heard the spirit of the card confirm his story. She put the monster with her other cards and gave Shark a lingering peck on the lips. "Thank you, Shark."
He smiled back as they continued on to their way to school. "Anything for you."
"Spill." The twins, Leo and Luna, demanded at the same time. Luckily it was the end of the day and Yuma had stayed behind from their group of friends because he had forgotten something. To add to the luck, they were the only ones in the classroom.
Yuma looked at them, confused, and asked, "Spill what?"
"We know who you're sister is."
He showed his shock for a moment, understanding what they meant, but then shook his head, along with the look off his face. "You two are definitely twins."
"Are you going to answer?" Luna asked. "Or will we have to force it out of you."
"Force it out of me?"
"I'm a psychic duelist." Leo answered with threat in his voice. "I can summon out a monster and have it destroy you. Now, fess up."
Yuma sighed as he sat on one of the tables, the twins following his example and sat at the edge of the same table across from Yuma. "What you want to know?"
"Everything."
He sighed once more before saying, "It started when my family visited her while she was in the Arcadia Movement."
*Flashback to Few Years Ago*
"Akiza," a man called from outside her room, "there are some people outside for you."
The girl looked up at the man, Sayer as she was supposed to call him when others are around, the leader of the organization. "For me? Who?"
"I don't know," Sayer said for the first time in his life. "But there's an energetic boy with them. He claims he won't leave until he sees you, his sister."
Immediately, Akiza rushed out of the room and ran out of the building. She stopped abruptly as she was a few feet away from the boy and his parents. "Yuma?" she whispered not believing who she was seeing.
The young boy with partially red hair turned around and smiled the largest Akiza had ever seen. "Kari!" The boy, Yuma, shouted as he hugged the elder. "I missed you!"
She picked the boy up and rested him on her hip as she kissed his cheek. "I missed you too, squirt." Akiza changed her attention to the adults. "Why are you three here?"
"We came to see you," answered Mira. "We stopped by your house first, but you weren't there. Then Kazuma got into a big argument with your father-"
"He shouldn't have sent Akiza away," Kazuma defended himself. "I still can't believe my sister married him. That man is a good for nothing workaholic would doesn't care about his daughter at all."
"True." Akiza agreed. "But I'm glad all of you are here though."
"If there is anything you need, tell us." Kazuma insisted seriously. "Like if you need a place to stay, we will be more than happy to have you live with us."
The girl smiled at her aunt and uncle. "I'll consider it, thank you."
*End of Flashback*
"And?" Luna asked.
Yuma sighed before explaining again, "When I came to visit her by myself, I didn't want her to be called a witch when we were hanging out so we decide to call her by her middle name, which I already did, and she'd change her looks. She became Kari Tsukoma at that moment and everyone treated her differently so she stayed that way when I'm with her."
"So your saying she hid for you?" Leo said. "Why?"
"She knew how dangerous it was for people to be around her." Yuma continued. "We thought if she had a different name and look she wouldn't have to be treated like a monster and act like one. Turned out it was true."
"But why not tell us though?" Luna questioned.
"To protect you two as well." Yuma reasoned. He smirked slightly, "But I think Shark has that covered with you."
She blushed and at that moment her phone buzzed. Looking down at it she smiled at the message. "I have to go." She got up and made her way to the door.
"Be home by eight," Leo called as Luna closed the door. After waiting for her footsteps to disappear, Leo gave Yuma a serious look. "Do you know what Shark is?"
"Yes," he answered. "He and Rio knew about Kari so they stayed away from her so she wouldn't get hurt but she did anyways."
"But they know about Luna." Leo countered. "Rio interrogated me about it because she didn't want Shark dating Luna so when she got what she wanted she told her brother Luna's a signer. Me and some of my other friends tried to get her to dump him but she refused."
"She'll be fine," Yuma reassured him. "She's been wearing Shark's Barian pendant for the past few days, but keeps it hidden because she was asked to"."
"Doesn't he need it to go into his Barian form? Why give it to my sister?"
"It protects her so she doesn't get hurt, sick, or whatever when they are around each other. It protects her from all Barians, but he didn't tell her that."
"But why?"
"Because Shark loves her, why else?"
"This is where you used to live?" Luna asked her boyfriend as he closed the door behind her and sat her bag next to the door. "It's amazing."
"Yeah," Shark confirmed as he kissed the corner of her lips and led her forward to the next room, "it used to be. It's pretty beaten down since no ones lived here for a while." As they entered the room, Luna gasped. There was a knight that was covered in spider webs, multiple picture frames were on the ground, broken of course, a couple tables knocked on their sides and a teddy bear laying on the floor like it's been there for a while. To sum up, it was a mess.
"A few years ago in this room, I got hurt," he recalled. "Rio took the card I gave from me. I chased her around trying to get it back from her. Eventually I was tugging on the cards in her hand and she lost her grip. When she did I bumped into that knight statue. It was going to fall on her but I pushed her out of the way and got hit instead." He placed a hand on his right shoulder. "I still have a scar from where it hit me."
After a few moments of silence Luna said, "Why did you bring me here?"
Almost shyly, he replied. "I was kind of hoping you'd help me clean this place up so we could hang out here instead and so the others won't spy on us."
She giggled before giving him a kiss. "When do you want to start?"
Shark perked up immediately and kissed her again, hugging her as he did so. "You're the best," he whispered in her ear.
"I know," Luna replied with a smile. "So?"
"Next week," he decided.
She pulled away from him slightly so she could see his face. She raised an eyebrow in question. "Why next week?"
"Because I over-heard a couple teachers saying that on Thursday the school's going to Neo Domino City and staying there until Sunday morning."
"Really?!" Luna exclaimed happily. "You're not just saying that?"
"Mr. Kay is going to tell us tomorrow, last hour." Shark replied.
And Shark was right. The next day before school let out Mr. Kay made the announcement about going to that city. "We'll leave at 5 tomorrow morning," the teacher continued. "We'll be visiting the school two days then on Saturday you'll be free to go where ever you want in a group and it has to have more than two people." He paused to look at the couple who blushed slightly. "We'll return home on Sunday so bring three changes of clothes. We'll also be staying in the Tops and Leo and Luna you'll be staying in your old place there. Any questions?"
Leo and Luna raised their hands at the same time. When Mr. Kay called on both of them they asked at the same time, "Will we be able to go to the Satellite?"
"If that is what you two want, but that place isn't-."
"We've been there before," they interrupted him. "We've befriended people who lived and were born there, so we don't think it'll be a problem."
Mr. Kay sighed. "Alright, just stop talking at the same time! It's hard to win an argument when you do."
"We know," they commented. "That's why we do it." (And that's how Leo got out of detention for next week)
The bell ringed saving Mr. Kay from loosing another argument with the twins. Everyone went to their respective homes and packed their bags for the trip.
"Do you think they'll be happy to see us?" Leo asked his sister.
"Probably surprised," she responded as she set her alarm for 4:15 am. "We left about two weeks ago and now we're going back."
"They'll be surprised when they found out you got a boyfriend," he countered. "They'll be even more surprised when they find out I approve."
She gasped. "So you're not going to complain that I'm dating Shark?"
"As long as he doesn't hurt you, I'm fine with it."
"Yes!" She hugged her brother. "Thank you, Leo."
"Whatever." He pushed her off him and on her bed. "See you in the morning." He walked out the room, closed the door behind him, and went to his bedroom to get some sleep.
Sorry this is late, my grandma is coming down and I had to spend two days cleaning my room and house.
The next chapter will probably be up by next Saturday as well and will be about their time in Neo Domino City, so expect it to be longer than this one.
Hoped you liked it!
