As each second passed, Naru could sense a demon getting closer and closer to the town. She knew for certain it was the demon Lullaby. Most demons had some scent of nature in them but not this demon. No, this demon only had the scent of death and blood, everything vile. His whole energy even had a similar vile energy she sense whenever she was in the island. Vile energy that was so similar to Deliora that it took all of Naru power not to destroy the town walls. Oh how she hated any reminder of the fake demon. Just the mere presence of it made her blood boil.

She lit the flames in her hand and started to juggle, watching as the townspeople smile and laugh with each other, not knowing the danger that would soon come. A glance at Sasuke told her of his thoughts about her decision not to inform the mayor of what was to happen. He wasn't happy with her decision. How could he? Naru knew from Itachi's stories that their father had been the kind of man, who protected the innocent and would inform the people of their danger.

Of course any law enforcer believe this. Their job was to protect the people from danger and had an obligation to inform his people about the dangers to come. However, Naru wasn't the police or a part of the government. She had no need to inform them of what was to come. Besides, what good would be to tell them? They would panic and this would make the situation even worse. It would make her job even harder to do.

"How did Itachi get this information again?"

"This time he didn't do any spell on any of the members of the dark guild. Interestingly enough, he got it from Shikamaru," Sasuke answered, staring down at the smiling faces of the towns' people. "Shikamaru heard it from his cousin, who was stupid enough to get drunk and tell him everything. If it weren't for him then we wouldn't know of what this guild was planning to do."

"And Shikamaru was willing to sell out his cousin?"

"He knows that you won't harm his cousin," Sasuke pointed out, leaning against the wall of the building. "We both know that if we have to choose between letting you handle it or the government that you will be the better choice. You won't send his cousin to jail and at worst, you will give him a bruise for doing what they were planning to do."

Naru pursed her lips but didn't protest at this statement. She wasn't going to harm Shikamaru's cousin for he (unknowingly) helped her in getting one step closer to her father's revenge. Anyone who helped her, unknowing or not, would be spared from her wrath. It also did not help this was Shikamaru's cousin, Shikamaru who helped her with her research and called her 'troublesome' whenever she asked him to do something hard. He was also the only person she knew that was in the government and had access to the files she needed.

It was unfortunate that the council didn't keep a record of where the dark guilds were located.

She shook her head and looked down at the ground, raising her eyebrow at the sight of a man that looked so similar to Shikamaru that it wasn't even funny. Normally, Naru would believe it was Shikamaru however she knew that Shikamaru had no business here and was keeping a blind eye to her activities like he always did. Besides, the older boy would avoid doing any exercise and this guy looked like he went through many things.

"Is that him?" Naru asked, flickering her eyes at Sasuke.

"The only way to know a Nara is through their hairstyle," Sasuke replied.

She rolled her eyes at this answer before gesturing for him to stay where he was. He arched his eyebrow but did as she said, watching with an impassive expression as she jumped down to the ground, landing gracefully on the grass. She gave him a fox-like grin. He rolled his eyes and gestured for her to do her thing while he stayed there and kept watch on the guild masters.

Naru nodded her head at him and slipped into the shadows, tracking the male, as he got closer to the meeting of the guild master. She smiled when she saw him stopped the cart. He got out and stepped onto the cart's hood. In his hands was a flute. Naru gritted her teeth when she felt the vile presence of the demon lurking out of the flute. If she didn't know before then it was a confirmation that the teen was carrying Lullaby.

She counted ten to calm herself down, knowing that it all counted on her behaviour for her to get the flute. The flute where she could unseal and ask the demon questions before doing what her father should have done all those years ago:

She was going to burn it to death.

"Beautiful night isn't it?" Naru said, smiling at the young man.

The young man blinked his eyes at the sight of her. He looked at her hands that was unmarked by any guild stamp and then looked at her. He stared at her whisker marks that marked her as not only as her father's daughter but her father's demonslayer. Not that he knew, not many people knew about demonslayers and Naru hoped it would be kept that way. The last thing, Naru needed was more people to panic when they realized that there was more then one type of demon.

He shook his head and answered. "Yes, it is."

"It is nights like these when I like to listen to music," Naru said, making her eyes wide and child-like. "Are you talented in the flute? I am not much of a music player myself but I am jealous of anyone who can play the flute. Can you teach me?"

"Well…"

Naru watched the conflict in his eyes and she wondered how a teen like this could be so foolish to fall into the wrong crowd. He looked so much like Shikamaru that she wouldn't be surprise if those two could pass off as twins. She wondered if the two were close. No they couldn't be because if they were then Shikamaru could have prevented this from happening. Yet, Shikamaru wouldn't sell out a cousin even to her.

So why did he…

That bastard, Naru thought furiously as she stared at the young man. That genius thought she could talk some sense into his cousin because of the fact, she had some weird 'charisma' or so Shikamaru told her. She shook her head. That genius owed her big time for doing this for him after all, this was something him and his father should talk to him.

"What are you two young people talking about?"

Naru blinked her eyes and turned her body around to hear who said this. She kept a big smile on her face when she caught sight of a short man sitting on the cart—the Fairy Tail guild mark plastered on his shirt. Great. She was meeting fairies everywhere and why didn't Sasuke warned her? She looked up at the building and raised her eyebrow when she caught sight of Sasuke shrugging his shoulder, mouthing to her that the old man would be too powerful for him to fight with.

Damn it, she needed to figure out a way to get the flute and protect the old man.

"We are talking about music," The man said, smiling at him. "Do you want to listen it with the young lady?"

Naru narrowed her eyes. "I don't think it will be a good idea for the old man here to listen to it."

"This is the only place where I can play it."

Naru cursed under her breath at hearing this and glanced at the old man. She raised her eyebrow when she saw the weariness in the old man's eyes and bit her lips when he commented on how creepy the flute was. Naru knew she needed to get the old man away from the flute, if not to get the flute then it was to protect the old man from it. She couldn't let an innocent old man get hurt by this demon, especially one that was linked to the same guild her future mate belong in.

"I'm in a hurry. Only one song, okay?" The old man said, relenting to the man's request.

"Sure."

Naru shook her head at them and said. "No, I can't let you play a song."

The teen blinked his eyes at her and the blonde stared hard at him. She pressed her hand against her necklace, remembering the faces of her friend and his family before picturing the words of her father and his words on nature. She may want the flute but she couldn't let this magic be played, not when she knew what it could potentially do. Not when she swore to herself that she wouldn't let anymore these demons harm innocent people.

She struggled to keep her racing heart in control and continued, glancing at the old man and then to the teen. "I don't know if you know this but that flute is actually created by Zeref and is a demon that causes death to everyone who hears its melody. I can't let you do that. This goes against everything I was taught and would cause your cousin shame."

"M-My cousin? How do you know…" He stuttered, gulping when he saw the darkness in her eyes.

The old man stared at her and Naru was uncomfortable on the lack of emotions in his eyes. However she shook her head and stared at the young man, knowing she needed to tell him of what she knew of the type of cousin he had. "It surprised me that Shikamaru would tell Itachi of your guild's plans. I'm sure you know that your cousin is loyal to a fault and wouldn't sell you out. After all, his father tried his best to make sure your guild had a lenient sentence or so Sasuke told me however, he couldn't do it. Instead, the best he could do is make sure your guild whereabouts weren't found out."

"Wait, how does he know of my plans?"

"You told him when you were drunk off your ass," Naru informed him as she dropped her hood, revealing her blond hair. She shook her hair, sighing in relief when she felt the breeze picking up her hair. "Anyways, he told Itachi and Itachi has no choice but to tell me this. Now, Shikamaru knew this yet he still told…do you know why?"

"I don't know!"

"Because he thinks there is hope for you," Naru said, crossing her arms. "You play that song and you are going to sentence the death of not only the guilds here but the people here. So I dare you to play that song! But know this, if you play it then I'll have no choice but to send you to him and he'll have no choice but to send you to the council."

"Did he tell you this?"

"Shikamaru never tells me anything, he thinks I am 'too troublesome to tell you these things' and those are his exact words," Naru said, mimicking the older boy's posture and she could see that the old man was trying his best not to laugh. "However I know him and I know he won't tell Itachi about you if he isn't worried about you. You are a part of his family, you are a part of his clan and we all know how the people in your village care about their own clans. The clan comes first and you doing this will destroy what your uncle worked so hard for!"

The teen nodded his head; staring numbly at her as he processed the news she had given him.

"Even if you play that song, nothing will change," the old man said, staring at them. "The young lady here believes there is hope for you and I do too. Weakness is not evil since human beings are weak creatures to begin with. You may have your cousin but you feel alone and insecure that's why we form guilds. That's why we have nakama."

Naru kept her face blank at hearing this. That was definitely not the reason why she formed alliances.

Her nose twitched and the blonde could feel a familiar presence in the area. Not a demon. It was definitely not a demon although Naru wished it were. It would be a lot easier because she could kill it. Why did she keep running into her future mate? Why couldn't Kami be kind and let her live her life in peace or have a mate that didn't look like what her best friend could have looked like.

Damn her father for giving her demon traits.

Gray stared and stared at the sight in front of him, wondering if his mind was playing tricks on him again. It wouldn't surprise him if it were. There were after all days were he imagined her being beside him when he was in Fairy Tail. He could remember how he once dreamt of her learning ice magic with him only to scratch that dream away because of how it didn't suit her. When he thought of Naru, he didn't think of ice. He thought of those cool flames, flames that were hotter then any flame Natsu could ever hope to make.

He shook his head and looked at the young woman in front of him, noticing she wore the same black hood that the woman he talked to had. She had hair that was as long as to the middle of her back and as bright as the blazing sun. He couldn't see her eyes from this angle but he knew it was blue. He just knew because he saw them earlier. He could see from the corner of her cheeks, whisker marks.

Gray gulped.

This was definitely Naru because he only knew of one girl with those marks.

"Who is she?" Lucy asked, snapping him from his thoughts. "And why is she here?"

"She's the girl from earlier," Gray answered, keeping his face blank as everyone turned their heads to look at him in surprise. He didn't need to look at them to see their surprise and he knew from Erza's tapping that she wanted to know he knew this. How he could be so confident on who she was. "I don't know why she's here but I want to know the answer. Why the hell did she decide to come now of all times?"

Erza, Lucy and Natsu stared at him but Gray made no explanation on what he was talking about. He couldn't tell them anything until he confirmed it. Until, he heard her words that confirmed who he thought she was. He didn't know why he felt the need to know. It had been ten years, ten long years since he last saw her and yet, he still felt like the same little boy who used to try to get the girl by surprise.

Not that he ever could because Naru always seemed to sense when he was going to tackle her.

"If you play that song then I'm going to hurt you," The woman said, staring hard into his eyes. "Now decide, are you going to play that song and unleash the demon or give it to me to handle. I have no doubt that Shikamaru has told you about me or the very least heard stories of me."

"Stories?"

"A girl that spends her days slaying demons," She whispered but her voice was still loud enough for everyone to hear. "At the age of fifteen, she slayed more then twenty demons and made even more demons back off the lands of humans. This is her duty. This has been her duty for as long as she could remember. She has no mercy on people who try to unleash demons. When you look into her eyes, you see no emotions. Does this sound familiar? She has no companions. All she has are allies and even then she does not show them as much emotion as she could. She is an expert of dealing with demons."

Gray kept his mouth shut as he stared at the two teens. He knew the girl had emotions, knew from the way she smiled at him when they talked. In fact, if this really was Naru then he knew the blonde could be one of the most passionate people you could meet. He could still remember they had an argument on whether or not ramen tasted better than udon for goodness sake. If that didn't scream passion then he didn't know what did. It was also wrong for her to say she didn't have emotions. He remembered how she used to be so sad whenever the girls made fun of her and would punch the girls in the face if they ever dared to insult her.

Still how did Naru learn to slay demons? As far as he was concerned, there were no demons in the world that she needed to slay or to learn from. Besides, wouldn't the townspeople know if there was a demon in the mountains? He frowned. When did she learn to use this kind of magic? Sure, it had been ten years but the way she spoke made it seem like she had been taught only to fight demons.

But as far as he knew, there was no…

"Gray-kun, did you know that in the mountains, there lives a powerful demon?" His grandfather told him when he climbed into his bed to hear his grandfather's usual stories. "He's been living up in those mountains since I was just a little boy. I remember the day that demon came in and proclaimed the mountains as his property. I have never seen that demon leave its home and I doubt it would leave anytime soon."

It was just coincidence that Naru lived in the same mountains that his grandfather's demon lived and who was to say a demon lived there? His grandfather had been becoming senile in his last years.

"I know what I just said won't be enough to convince you to hand me the flute but unleashing the flute will cause so much pain, pain that I don't want people to feel. I don't want people to know of loss," She whispered, smiling at him. "Besides will killing these people make you happy? Killing them as the Jii-san stated won't change anything. It might be painful that you guys aren't a light guild but at least you guys have each other. Your nakama makes you happy right? They make you stronger right? So why do you want to throw away what you have for this? As long as you smile with each other then there is no point of using the flute. Besides, this flute will not make you stronger."

"The child is right," Makarov said and Gray nearly laughed when he saw Naru bristling at this comment. "The flute will not make you stronger and is not key to your happiness. If you believe in tomorrow and put yourself out there, you can obtain your strength. That's how you will be able to smile and live strong."

"If it makes you feel better, I don't want you to end up like me," Naru said to the shaking teen. "I am a prime example of someone who looks at the past. Now hand me the flute to destroy."

The teen nodded his head and reluctantly handed the blonde the flute. Gray stared at the master, wondering how he could let the blonde have the flute. Did he really believe Naru could do it? He stared at Naru, noticing the rage in her eyes and took a step back. Never in his life had he ever seen the blonde had so much anger. Not even that one time he insulted her taste in ramen made her this angry and Naru could be scary if you insulted her food.

This was a very serious matter.

"Master!" Erza yelled, rushing towards the old man. Natsu, Happy and Lucy followed her but Gray just stood there, watching the blond-haired girl. The blonde stared right back at him, hands clenching the flute as if it was her lifeline and brokenness that he had never seen before. He opened his mouth to say something to her but nothing came out. It was like the words were stuck in his mouth, unwilling for him to ask the one question that bothered him.

He shook his head and walked passed his friends, ignoring his friends and master who were watching him wide-eyed while he made his way towards the blond. She blinked her eyes at him, giving him a pained look before giving him a blank look. Naru used to do the same thing whenever they were out in public. It seemed that aspect of his friend hadn't disappeared. Gray wondered just how much she had changed in the past ten years.

"How?"

"How, what?" She asked, placing her hand into her pocket.

Gray crossed his arms. "You know what I am asking you."

"I really don't know what you are talking about."

"How did you survive the attack, Naru?" She blinked her eyes while Erza and the others, except for Makarov, looked at him in confusion. "That thing sent a beam to the mountains you were living in. How could you survive that? The mountains were destroyed into millions of pieces! I thought you were dead like my parents!"

Naru looked wide-eyed at him and stepped away from him. She stared long at him and suddenly, her look went from confusion to shock. It felt like she was looking at him for the first time and perhaps it was because Gray knew her mind wasn't with him. Her eyes were filled with hope but she shook her head as if she was in denial of something. He didn't know what she was trying to deny. She opened her mouth to say something before shaking her head. He stood still when she walked closer towards him, her nose twitching as she smelled him. She took a good look at him, shook her head and muttered under her breath about how this couldn't be happening.

For a brief moment, he saw tears leaking out of her eyes but Naru rubbed her eyes and stared at him.

She finally answered with a hollow voice. "I don't know but the most likely thing is that my father had managed to block the attack and made an illusion to make it seem like it was destroyed. B-But how could you survive? I saw your house turned to rubble! I heard your cries that night! How could you survive that night? I went to your house and saw your parents' bodies! I buried the dead that night!"

Gray simply stared at her before finally asking her. "How can he block an attack like that? No human could block an attack like that…"

"You're right a human can't block the attack," Naru agreed, giving him a look of pain. "But I never said my father was human did I? Everyone in the village thought a human raised me but a human didn't raise me. Until I came to your village when I was six, I had never met another human being or knew how to act like one."

Gray stared at her. "What do you mean by that? How can your father not be human? I mean it couldn't be a dragon like Natsu, the villagers would have noticed if there is…."

"You were always slow in figuring these type of things out," Naru said, staring hard at the flute in her hand. "My father is no dragon, don't ever compare him to those vile creatures."

"What did you call them!" Natsu yelled, glaring at her.

"I call them vile creatures, got a problem with that?" Naru said calmly. "What creature would you meet that would be so foolish to teach a human magic without teaching them the meaning of? I have heard of you. I heard of the buildings you destroy and that is a typical thing a dragon would do. They never thought of the other creatures, always causing trouble and destruction. Especially the fire dragon, oh how my father used to complain about him and the troubles he caused. My father used to talk about how he was useless…"

"What did you say!" Natsu screamed.

Naru curled her lips at him. "The fire dragon Igneel is useless."

Everyone watched in horror as Natsu ran towards the blond-haired girl with a flaming fist but Naru simply dodged it. Natsu continued to pummel punches towards the blonde but the girl would simply roll her eyes and dodged them. It was obvious to everyone who was watching the match just how outclass Natsu was against the girl. She was dancing around the flaming punches, looking ready to use his opening against the male.

When Naru saw that Natsu left his stomach for attack, she slammed her fist against his stomach, sending the teenage boy flying through the air. Everyone gawked at her but Naru simply gave the pink-haired boy a calm look. "If your father was any good to you, he would have given you the first basic lesson when it came to fighting and that is not to leave any openings. There were so many openings that it was pathetic. A little advice for you, keep your guard up or else you will be dead."

"Naru I think you said enough to him. We didn't come here so you can cause a fight, we came here so you can destroy that thing," A black-haired boy said, appearing right in front of them. Gray stared at the boy, narrowing his eyes when the boy loomed over her and how Naru didn't seem faze at how close he was standing to her. "I thought you would do your thing and I can go back home but instead I see you getting into a fight."

"He started it when he tried to harm me so of course I was going to retaliate," Naru answered, twirling the flute with a smile on her lips. "And I am going to destroy it Sasuke don't you worry your pretty little head about it."

Gray frowned when Sasuke raised an eyebrow at her words and Naru simply shook her head at the boy. It was obvious to him that they were very close and how the blonde seemed to be happy at that guy's presence. He could remember a time where Naru used to give him smiles like those but that guy seemed to be able to make Naru smile with no problem. He wondered how long those two know each other? It must be a while for Naru to be unfazed by his closeness.

He shook his head and watched as the two of them started to argue about Naru's ability to do it on time. Watching the pair of them reminded Gray of a time where he used to do this with Naru too but they used to argue about where they would go to eat or Naru's reaction to how the girls used to talk to her. She used to look so angry whenever he tried to argue with her but he always knew she wasn't really angry with him because she would always have a small smile as they argued.

Just like now.

"Can the two of you stop your arguing!" Erza yelled.

Naru and Sasuke stopped what they were doing and looked at the red-haired before stating, "No can do. This idiot won't do anything until you tell her/him!"

"You mages have no guts," A voice said, before another argument between Naru and Sasuke could start again.

Gray blinked his eyes and looked around to find the source of the voice but stopped when he saw the grimaced on Naru and Sasuke's face. He followed the direction of their grimace, raising his eyebrows when he saw that they were staring at the flute. They couldn't be serious. A flute couldn't talk but then again if Naru was right, this flute was made by Zeref and Gray heard rumours about him.

"I can't hold it any longer," The voice said again and everyone blinked their eyes when they saw it was the flute. "I will just eat you all myself."

Lucy and Happy gulped as smoke started to envelop the flute while Naru threw the flute on the floor. The blonde gave a weary look towards Sasuke, who gave her one back. For the first time since Gray saw Naru again, he felt like a stranger watching them since it felt like they were talking silently.

"Why the hell is that flute talking?" Lucy cried.

Naru sighed. "Because the flute isn't its real form. If you guys don't want to get hurt in the next ten minutes, I will advise you to run. Sasuke here will take you to a nearby shelter since I don't know this area as well as I would like."

"What about you?" Gray asked.

She smiled. "I am going to deal with this like I said I will. I need to talk to this vile demon about a certain someone before killing it and going my merry way onto the next town."

"You are going to fight that demon by yourself?"

"Yup," Naru answered. "Don't give me that look Gray, I have done these things before…although I have never fought a demon created by Zeref himself but how hard can it be? Father had taught me till I bled, made me learn my mistakes and wouldn't have left me alone until he was certain that I can defeat a creature like that."

"You shouldn't fight it by yourself."

"It is my responsibility Gray," Naru informed him. "My father gave me the responsibility of destroying this demon along with any other creation of Zeref. These demons are nothing but a mockery to my father and his kind especially considering how they were made."

"You can't seriously expect us to believe that you can do this by yourself!"

"As much as it pains me to agree with the dobe here, she is right," Sasuke said, drawing everyone's attention to him. "If we want this to be done quickly without any damage then Naru is the best choice. She will minimise the damage as much as she can and is trained to fight them. If any of you fight then this whole town will be destroyed."

"It must pain you to say that," Naru said, grinning.

Sasuke rolled his eyes. "This is the only time I will ever agree with you, after this we are going back to disagreeing."

"And here I was thinking that this was the start of something new."

Sasuke would have said something if it weren't for the fact that in the next minute, the smoke had finally stopped and a big demon appeared in front of them. Gray stared at the demon, gulping when he took in the appearance of the demon and wondered how the hell Naru was planning to take that demon down by herself or what the hell made her think he was going to let her after seeing it in the flesh.

"LET ME CONSUME YOUR PITIFUL SOULS…" The demon Lullaby barely finished his sentence when Naru jumped up and slammed her fist against the being's face. It sent the demon tumbling down to the ground in shock while Makarov and everyone else blinked their eyes at her, surprised that the blonde had done it.

Ignoring their stares, the blond-haired girl snapped her finger and a cloud of flames appeared in her hand. To Gray, the flames made her hand looked like claws and he wondered if they do the same function as claws. It certainly looked like it but was it going to be helpful to defeat this demon? It wasn't like he didn't trust Naru with her skills….but he didn't trust her when it came to strength. In fact, Gray didn't know if he could trust the blond-haired girl if all she did in their friendship was kept secrets.

Naru walked on top of the demon until she was near the demon's mouth before sitting down and placing her flame-like claw on the demon's face. The demon cried out in pain, looking uncomfortable of the intensity of the flame while Naru simply gave the demon a cold look. It was a cold look that reminded him of how detach the blond-haired girl could be.

"Stop it!" The demon yelled.

"Why should I Lullaby?" Naru said darkly. "You have caused so much destruction in the past four hundred years. You have destroyed homes, villages, cities and lives. You are a mockery of what a demon should be like."

"I will be a proper demon if you stop those horrible flames! It's destroying my skin!" The demon cried out.

The blue-eyed snorted. "Is it now? Maybe I will give you some pity and stop those horrible flames but I can't do that if you don't tell me one tiny piece of information."

"I will tell you anything just as long as you stop those flames!" He yelled. "I have never felt flames as hot as yours, it feels like it is hell on Earthland with those flames."

"Anything?" Naru said giddily, reminding Gray of a little girl that was being told she could have more than one toy for her birthday. "Will you even tell me where your creator is? Do you know where is Zeref?"

"Why do you wish to see Zeref-sama?" The demon yelled.

The blonde's flame-like claws seemed to glow even more in intensity and Gray winced when Lullaby screamed even louder out of pain. He looked at Naru, who had a murderous look in her eyes, and then to Sasuke, who was shaking his head at what was happening. He didn't understand what was happening; he didn't know why Naru was interested in Zeref or her belief that the darkest mage in history was alive. He didn't understand anything about Naru and maybe he never did understand anything.

"You have no right to ask me questions," Naru hissed. "If you want to have even the slightest hope that I won't burn you to the ground, you tell me everything you know about the whereabouts of Zeref or else I will burn you faster before you can say mama."

The demon gulped and cried out. "I don't know anything! Unlike Deliora or the other demons Zeref-sama created, I don't have any mental connection with him. I don't know where he is! Ask Deliora or Mard, they will know where Zeref-sama is."

"And where will I find Mard?" Naru asked silkily, increasing the size of the flame that now looked big enough to cover the whole demon's face.

The demon gulped. "Find Tartarus Headquarters and you find Mard."

"And where is Tartarus Headquarters?"

"I don't know!"

Naru pouted and nodded her head before placing her flame-covered hand onto the demon. She didn't have one look of pity in her eyes when the demon cried out that she lied to him. Gray frowned. Naru didn't lie to the demon unfortunately, she had informed him that if he told her then she might consider letting him live. Unfortunately for the demon, Naru had decided to kill the demon instead of letting it live.

Everyone winced as the demon started to yell out in pain and watched in horror as the demon's flesh slowly started to melt. Gray narrowed his eyes when he saw Natsu going near the flames that Naru conjured. What was that idiot thinking? He knew the pink-haired boy would get stronger if he ate flames but Gray had a very bad feeling that Naru's flames were going to poison him. If it was a very different type of flame from Natsu's then it should be considered poisonous.

"I wouldn't eat that if I were you," Naru commented lightly as she watched the Lullably's flesh turned to liquid and fall down to the ground. "Dragonslayer, my fire will be like poison to you just like your flames will poison me if I try to eat it."

"How do you know that? For all you know I can take your flames no problem."

The blue-eyed girl smirked. "Because I have seen a fire demon try to eat my flames but only to spit it out because of how poisonous it is to him…and how hot it was. Tell me, can you handle the heat?"

"Your flames can't be that hot!" Natsu declared, placing his hand in her flames. He blinked his eyes for a minute before yelping as he took his hand out of the flame. "IT'S SO HOT!"

Gray shook his head and looked at Naru, ready to ask her about it but stopped when he saw Naru and Sasuke had already left them behind. He grimaced. He saw Naru for two seconds and then she left him before he could question her about everything.

Could this night get any worse?

Better question yet was when would he ever see Naru ever again?

"Do you really think it was a good idea for you to leave him?" Sasuke asked as the two of them walked towards the train station. Naru raised her eyebrows at his question but the older boy narrowed his eyes at her, giving her a look that said she better answer his question or he would do something that Naru would hate.

The blonde sighed. "Yes it is a good idea because he is going to ask me questions and I don't want to answer them. I don't want him to know of the things I have done and the things I will soon do. If he knows of my next plan then hell is going to break loose for me."

"Why?"

"Because he is going to be pissed with me for Deliora," Naru answered. "Deliora murdered his parents and I doubt he wants to see that demon unleash."

"But you are going to kill it so there's no problem."

Naru snorted. "I will kill it if Lyon fails to murder it that's for certain."

"So basically you are going to kill it."

"You have very little faith in Lyon's ability," Naru stated and Sasuke snorted. "Well I can't blame you since I am taking a big risk in letting him kill it."

"A big risk?"

"Alright a huge risk," Naru replied. "But I made a promise Sasuke and you know how I keep my promises."

Sasuke sighed and nodded his head. She had always kept her promise to Sasuke from trying not to make the villagers angry to saving him from Sakura's advances whenever she was in their area. She grimaced as she remembered the heartbroken look in Sakura's eyes whenever she saw Sasuke standing beside her. The blonde wondered why she did these things for Sasuke but she knew it had to end soon.

"You know we are going to end the deal about you pretending to be my lover whenever you come to the village," Sasuke said, pushing his hands into his pockets. Naru blinked her eyes and frowned. The older boy sighed. "Look dobe, the plan doesn't work with Sakura and you know it or why else did you tell me to get an actual girlfriend. We also have to think about the fact that you have a mate now and you can't be unfaithful to him even if it is pretend."

Naru frowned and shook her head. "But I made a promise to make sure Sakura is off your back by pretending to be your lover."

"Yes and I am grateful for that but we also stated that if one of us starts to date then this is over," Sasuke pointed out to her. "You found your mate and you have stated it yourself that he is the possible father of your child and compatible to you. You said it yourself there is consequence if you become unfaithful to him."

"I didn't mate him yet so I am not unfaithful to him."

The black-haired boy sighed and loomed over her, kneeled down till they were the same height. He leaned towards her and Naru felt for the first time her heart beating wildly, not even a fight brought this kind of racing heart. She flushed a light red when he leaned closer to her, his face was getting closer to her and all Naru could think was that she had never realized how his eyes were like obsidian or how when the light from the train station hit his hair, she could see blue tints in his hair. She moved her head away from him when the memory of Gray assaulted her mind.

He moved away from her and Naru sighed. He shook his head at her and said, "You can't let a guy kiss you because he is in your mind."

"Or maybe because I know you don't really have feelings for me," Naru answered. "You hate me but respect me because I work with your brother. You also only like me because unlike the girls in your home, I didn't treat you any differently when your parents died and your brother became the head of your clan."

Sasuke shook his head. "Even though we have known each other for the past five years, you still have no idea on my feelings for you Naru."

"What do you mean?"

Sasuke shook his head. "There's no point of me telling you."

"Why?"

He didn't answer her instead he poked her on the forehead and walked onto the train that was going to his hometown. Naru frowned and stared at his retreating back, wondering what the hell that was about. She knew his feelings towards her so why did he say she didn't know? They had been friends for the past four years and he dared say to her she didn't know his feelings. What was he trying to tell her?

She looked up to the sky and wondered for the second time that day if God really hated her.

Questions& Answers:

What happened to Kurama and the other bijuu?

I can't really answer that question because it has an important role in the story and plays a major role in Naru's development along with the future demonslayers that I plan to introduce in the Demonslayer.

Does Lyon love Naru?

Lyon isn't in love with Naru but he is attracted to her however he knows that nothing can come between them since he knows how broken Naru is and that Naru is in love with Gray.

Will you update sooner?

I know how irritating it is that it takes a long time for me to update this story but unlike the other stories, I am trying to find ways to incorporate Naru into the story properly and figuring her place in the story. I also have too many ideas on how to make it work so it takes me while to narrow it down.

If any of you guys have any more questions, please leave a review and I will try to answer them. It also helps in giving me ideas on what the next chapter will look like.
