So I was killed with assignments and went to a concert and now it's March Break so writing time. But you know I lost my internet for like 5 days so I couldn't upload goddamnit! Thank you for response, I didn't really want to make anyone cry (hypothetically or not) and jokes I totally did. I was writing last chapter with a ridiculous smirk on my face (this is definitely how John Green writes that bastard!). That's enough of me and my not owning marvel.
September 30th 1994 (a couple hours later), Izabella remains 3 years old
Natasha launched another knife into the dummy, Clint was still at SHIELD and Bella was still asleep. This couldn't be happening to her, not again. She couldn't be pregnant again.
She then reminded herself she had not yet taken the test, Natasha kept telling herself her body could just simple be fucking her over. The redhead has an inkling she was wrong.
Clint wondered into the house just as Natasha placed a plate of waffles in front of Bella. She glanced up at him, he smiled. She did not, Clint frowned and opened his mouth to speak, and Natasha shook her head. He walked over kissed Bella on the head and served himself some waffles.
"How was SHIELD?" Natasha asked, Clint pursed his lips
"Annoying, some junior agent on the case thinks they are the centre of the world and I want to punch them in the face."
Natasha smirked and served herself breakfast while Bella played with some of her toys on the floor. Clint returned her smirk, his face fell when her frown reappeared on her face.
"Tasha, what's going on." She pushed her food around on her plate
"I think it happened again." He frowned
"What?" he questioned, she sighed and rolled her eyes. Then glanced down to Bella on the floor.
"Clint. I'm late." He stopped eating
"Damnit." Bella looked up at her father
"Don't swear!" the toddler scolded, Natasha supressed a laugh. Clint stared at her
"Are you sure?" she pursed her lips
"Well I'm sure I' late, but about the other thing no. It hit me around 4 am that something was off then I saw the date on the calendar."
She gestured to the calendar on the floor "And I sort of freaked out."
Bella continued ignoring her parent's conversation. Completely unaware the outcome of it could affect her entire future.
Clint finished eating, stood up kissed Bella again then hugged Natasha.
"I'll call Mary." Natasha nodded
"I bet she hoped she was done with us other than bullet wounds." Clint nodded
"Probably."
00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Marilyn stared at her phone, she had just finished her conversation with Clint.
"Those fucking idiots." She mumbled before flipping through her filing cabinet and pulled out Natasha file. She looked down to her son playing with trains on the floor.
"10 bucks she's pregnant again."
Her son shrugged "I don't care, I want food." Marilyn laughed
"Ya your my kid." She heard a knock on her door.
"Come in." Fury barged in
"Hello Director, how may I be off assistance?"
"I need you to clear Romanoff for field."
Marilyn threw you forehead down onto her desk
"Fuck, can't do that."
Fury scowled "Why not." Marilyn glanced up at him through her bangs
"Doctor patient confidentiality, can't do it. But I can clear anyone else. Hill, May, Morse or any of the other highly trained amazing field agent we have."
"I need Romanoff."
Marilyn sipped her coffee
"Can't." he frowned
"I'll ask again why?"
"I'll say again Doctor patient confidentiality. Sorry Director, you're out of luck with Romanoff."
He stalked out of the room fuming, Marilyn swore had this been a cartoon he would have been smoking from the ears.
00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Natasha fidgeted in her seat, the waiting room was empty aside from her and Clint and it would remain that way but she was still afraid that anyone from SHIELD could walk in. Marilyn stepped out of her office and gestured for them to come inside. The two of them shuffled inside.
"Where's Bella?"
"School." Clint answered. Marilyn nodded
"Of course, Natasha come here. I'm going to do a blood test."
Natasha held out her arm and didn't even flinch as the needle entered her wrist.
"I'll have the results in a few days, but you can do the normal person thing and take six thousand pregnancy tests."
Natasha shook her head "I'd rather find out here."
Marilyn shrugged "Do what you want, but waiting around for three days won't be fun."
Natasha rolled her eyes "I'll survive."
00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Three Days Later
Natasha did survive, there was no reason she wouldn't. But nearly everything she did reminded her of the fact she could once again be pregnant. The fact that her daughter came home wondering if she'd ever have brothers or sisters like some of her classmates, didn't help the matter. Both Clint and Natasha responded with
"We can't plan that."
By the time Marilyn called them with the results, Fury had also gotten fed up with Natasha avoiding answering the question
"Why can't you go on my mission?!"
Natasha was convinced if she didn't have a legitimate answer soon she would be bombarded with SHIELD hit men and paper work. She didn't which would be worse. So when the phone rang with Marilyn telling them to come in, they grabbed their things dropped Bella off at school and headed straight into SHIELD.
The two of them slipped into Marilyn's office, she stared at the couple
"Congrats Nat, you're not pregnant."
Both Clint and Natasha sighed with relief.
"But that doesn't stop you from having another child."
Both Clint and Natasha nodded "We get that, but we don't want one."
Marilyn raised an eyebrow "Really? Tell me you weren't the least bit excited with the prospect of another baby? Despite the whole 'near death' thing another baby would be an exciting prospect to you would it not."
Natasha glared at her "You sound like a con man what are you getting at? We know there's options like adoption, but considering it's barely safe for us to care for our own child it doesn't seem right to take in one that isn't."
Marilyn rolled her eyes "First of all that is the biggest bunch of bullshit I've ever heard and such a fucked up thing to say but that wasn't what I was getting at, at all."
Clint frowned "Then what are you trying to say because, personally I would have been excited with another baby but the risk. It's too high."
Natasha elbowed him "It's me body let me speak. Please explain Marilyn."
She sat down at her desk "Easy a surrogate, people do it all the time."
Clint looked confused, Natasha nodded "I see." Clint frowned
"I don't get it." Marilyn rolled her eyes
"So basically what happens is a doctor who won't be me takes usually around 5 unfertilized eggs from Natasha and sperm from you then petri dish then surrogate mother, then 9 months later. You're baby out of her. She goes back to her life, you two have a kid. Simple.
Clint nodded "And people do this." Marilyn nodded
"Yeah, when a woman can't carry a child or in the case of Natasha safely carry one this is another option to adoption. It's more risky and has a lesser chance of working but we can try. If you want, and if it doesn't work, go back to Bella or adoption. Or try again, I'm not picky because somehow I will be getting paid then take my son to Disney world."
Natasha "Do you think it would work?"
Marilyn shrugged "Probably, I have tests to run and people to call, but this is SHIELD no one messes with us. I can speed up the process also you two have to decide if you really want to do this. So I'll give you some time then we can run over details."
Clint nodded "How does being in a different womb effect the baby."
"It shouldn't really, unless the surrogate does something perpetually stupid, but usually that's prevented. In fact most of the time the surrogate moves in with the parents of the baby for the duration of the pregnancy."
Both Clint and Natasha remained silent, Marilyn sighed "I'll run six thousand background checks if you go through with this. But I'll say again it might not work."
The couple kept quiet. Natasha stared up at Marilyn
"We'll think it over." The blonde nodded
"I just wanted you to know you've still got a chance at your on child without any risk. Although if it were me I'd adopt."
Natasha nodded, stood up and left. Marilyn frowned
"Well, then." Clint nodded sheepishly and waved goodbye then skirted out of the office after Natasha.
00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Natasha slammed the car door and waited for Clint to catch up.
"Tasha, do we really want another kid?" He said as he climbed into the vehicle. She shrugged, he studied her. He noticed smudged eyeliner and mascara under her eyes. He wondered when she had the time to put it on, he wondered when she had the time to cry.
"I don't know Clint, do we? It's not like last time when we could just wait and hope for the best. Now we have to make a conscious decision we may or may not regret. How are we supposed to do that?"
Clint nodded "Right, but we could always do it later."
Natasha raised an eyebrow "Later? Who knows I we get a later Clint. We could die tomorrow, it would be easy considering Fury's chasing after me for a mission."
"Okay Tasha, we'll chose. Do we want to have another child? We worry enough about the one we already have!"
She slammed her fist onto the dashboard of the car
"We can't just think of the worry, we have to think of ourselves and of Bella. We both know how much she would love to have a baby brother or sister. Honestly I would go clothes shopping again I'd get excited about paint colors and more first steps and words. I'd do it all again in a heartbeat! It's not just the worry, I wouldn't even be carrying the baby."
Clint nodded "So it's a yes? Because you know I'd assemble the fucking crib again. Goddamn ikea."
Natasha smirked "It's not a yes, it's a maybe. I want to talk to Bella. I want to explain to her what would happen."
"Nat she's 3."
"Clint, I don't care."
00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
One Week Later
It proved easy to explain to Bella that she might have a baby brother or sister even though it wouldn't actually be carried by Natasha. The toddler was simply excited with the concept of a possible sibling. Marilyn had hunted down a doctor and a possible surrogate. Natasha was having trouble absorbing how unusually fast everything was going. She was headed to meet the woman who might carry her child for lunch in a diner near SHIELD. The redhead wandered into the small restaurant and immediately spotted the young woman. She looked exactly like the picture Marilyn had given her, she was bigger than Natasha, but flats, a baggy sweater and dark brown bangs covering her face somehow made her seem less imposing. The woman waved to Natasha as the redhead walked over.
"Hi, I'm Taylor, your Natasha?" she questioned, Natasha nodded and sat down across from her. She was surprised, Taylor didn't seem uncomfortable at all whereas Natasha as convinced this was the most awkward experience of her life.
"Yes, Hello." Taylor smiled
"I completely understand if this is strange for you. I was really nervous at my first interview."
Natasha bit her tongue "Don't say interview, sounds. Wrong. How old are you?"
"27, I'm a receptionist at a hospital." Natasha nodded
"I'm a… cop." Taylor smiled
"My brother works for SHIELD." Natasha nodded
"I suppose I should ask you if you are ready for the responsibility of carrying a child."
Taylor's smile stayed put "I sort of applied for this. AS long as you don't make me do anything incredibly strange you wouldn't do. Weird things have been known to happen for example I will not drink a health smoothie without making it myself."
Natasha stared at her "Health smoothie? I'll just get to my point, I'd to offer you the guest bed and attached bathroom for the duration of the pregnancy should eat occur. Free living and food, can't go wrong."
Taylor nodded "I'll accept that thank you, as for medical you have to know should anything go wrong during the pregnancy if you try to blame me I will flip a table because, no."
Natasha nodded "Of course no, and I will pay for all medical expenses and I apologize in advance for anything my three year old or idiot partner may do."
Taylor laughed
"You already have kids."
Natasha nodded "Just the one, a girl. The pregnancy was…. Rough."
Taylor nodded "Okay no need to worry I'm not easy to annoy, I work in a hospital."
Natasha wasn't sure how to respond so she smiled, ordered a coffee and paid for Taylor's.
Taylor continued on talking about her life and Natasha listened closely, she learned Taylor was from a large family, 3 brother and two sisters. Her father was a lawyer and her mother a teacher. She was the oldest and hoped to one day have a family of her own. She loved old movies and books. Natasha reminded herself to check out the books Taylor said were classics, Natasha figured she should have read The Great Gatsby by now and To Kill a Mocking Bird. Clint had read them in high school, he said he didn't like them. Natasha knew Clint wasn't much of a reader. By the end of their meeting, Natasha was confident in Taylor. Taylor said she would get in contact with Marilyn and their new Doctor. Natasha walked Taylor to her car and promised to get her house together. Natasha climbed into her own car and drove off with a slight smile and a gut feeling thing would go better this time.
So this was really crammed and probably suckish but I want to get past this so that I can move onto real problems and a family life and stuff. And I was planning on doing another Natasha pregnancy but I was writing it and I was like "Ok, I've done this" so I changed it. Tell me what you think and I doubt anything I say in accurate at all. So keep on following/ favoriteing/ reviewing.
