Happy super duper times infinity belated Valentine's day! xD Shoutout to the little bit of Bechloe that's in there! Anyway, enjoy!
The next day aka Valentines's Day
Aubrey sat at the kitchen table contemplating her thoughts. She was feeling...what's the word, oh wait there wasn't a word for how she was feeling because even she didn't know how to feel for her own situation. The worst part about it was that she was looking forward to being with Stacie today of all days but had she been with her right now who knows what she would have said, probably nothing. Before she could get lost in her crazy thoughts anymore than she already was, her red headed best friend walked into the kitchen as perky and cheery as normal. Aubrey sighed a loud sigh hoping her best friend would notice something different.
"Hey Aubs,"Chloe greeted as she proceeded to the coffee maker.
Aubrey had a defeated look on her face as sighed once more to try to get her attention again. Still nothing as Chloe continued to pour some coffee into a mug. Fed up with the lack of attention she figured third time was the charm so she sighed as dramatically as she could.
"I hear you sighing but whatever it is your sighing about, we're going to need some coffee to go with the talk we're about to have." Chloe smiled at her friend as she placed a mug in front of her. "Now talk."
A smile sneaked across her face for a moment just at the antics of her friend. "Well, its a long story," she paused looking at her coffee. "but, Stacie is pregnant."
"WHAT?!"Chloe nearly choked on the hot liquid. "How? Why? With who? Since when? I need details and fast."
"One question at a time. Geez, I guess I'll just tell you the story."she sighed widening her eyes in a stressful manner. "So, the guy that drugged Stacie told her that he had an STD and that she needed to be checked, so we went to the doctor yesterday. She came out STD free and everything was fine. Then we went to eat after and she just seemed out of it and then she suddenly broke out into tears and I had no idea what was wrong so we left. We came back here and she broke the news."
Chloe sat there with her mouth agape trying to find the right words to respond with. "Wow, so what is she going to do, better yet, what are you both going to do?"
"I don't know. I didn't say anything to her after she told me, I left and took a walk. I feel bad for just leaving her like that right after I promised her that I would be there for anything and everything." she continued as tears formed in her eyes. "God, I'm such a terrible person!" she sniffled before covering her face.
Chloe scooted closer to her best friend and wrapped her arms around her and brought her head to her chest as she rubbed soothing circles on her back. "Aubs, its okay. You're not a terrible person. You're reaction wasn't exactly abnormal. But you shouldn't have left her, you guys need to talk about it. I personally know that it sucks when the person you care about most walks away when you need them the most. "
Aubrey pulled away and wiped the remaining tears away. "I know I shouldn't have left but I didn't know what to say I-" the red head cut her off.
"Being there and not saying anything is better than not being there AND not saying anything. Trust me." she explained. "When its time to talk, just be honest, that's all you can do."
"You're right Chlo. I just hope she doesn't hate me." she admitted.
"I doubt she hates you. But it is Valentine's day and it wouldn't hurt if you didn't something nice for her."Chloe suggested.
Aubrey tapped the bottom of her chin as she thought of something she could do. "You're right again. I think I have something in mind."
"When am I not right?"she laughed. Before she could say anything else there was a knock on the door. Both girls were surprised as they weren't expecting anyone over. "I wonder who that could be." she said getting up from her seat.
"Don't know but I've got plans to make, so you'll have to entertain whoever it is."Aubrey said as she got up and went in the opposite direction of the door.
Normally the two women didn't get unexpected guests to their apartment. If their girlfriends were coming over they usually knew it and even if any of the other Bellas were coming they'd send some kind of heads up. As Chloe got to the door she opened and to her surprise no one was there. Instead there was a giant bear holding flowers and chocolates. "Aw,"she mumbled. As she looked closer there was a little card that said Aubrey on it. "Oh..."she said sadly as she realized it wasn't for her. "Aubrey!" she yelled as she grabbed the stuff carefully to take it inside. Before closing the door, she saw a familiar brunette that happened to be her girlfriend standing there with flowers and a bag as well."Double aw."she squealed.
"I don't have a bear or anything but I do have these. "Beca said showing the flowers and the bag. "Not to spoil it but there's also a mixtape of your favorite songs in there. And I got us these tickets to go see that stupid, I mean romantic film at the drive in downtown. "
"Aw, Becs! Thank you so much!" she cheesed as she pulled her girlfriend in for a kiss.
"What Chl- oh, um. Sorry to interrupt."Aubrey broke in. "Hi Beca."
Chloe pulled away in smiles and turned around to face Aubrey. "Don't worry about it. This was left at the door for you. "She said pointing to the bear and stuff.
"Oh my." a wide smile spread across her face as she examined the gift. She picked up the card with her name on it and opened it. The inside read: Roses are red, Violets are blue, I'm so glad you're mine, because I love you. Happy Valentines's Day! xo Stacie. Aubrey held the card to her chest right over her heart as she began to feel warm and fuzzy inside. She picked up the bear as well as the chocolates and flowers and went to the living room to admire the gifts some more. This was completely unexpected and now Aubrey knew she had to do something really nice for Stacie for two reasons, one it was Valentine's Day and two she wanted to because she loved her. She took out her phone and sent a text to Stacie: Happy Valentine's Day love, thank you for the gifts! I have a little something planned for us tonight so be ready by 6 and I'll be by to pick you up!
At Stacie's dorm
Stacie was nervous for tonight, though she had a feeling it was going to be good. She had sent Aubrey the gift and she liked it and she even got a text about it. This was good but it also made her wonder if she was acting as if last night never happened. Either way she was going to question it or bring it up until Aubrey was ready to talk about it. She was just going to focus on having an amazing night with her girlfriend. Six o'clock came quick for the brunette but she was so anxious that she had been ready since five. She was dressed in a short blue dress with heels to match and her hair was lightly curled down her back. When she heard a knock on her door she jumped up quickly to answer it. She opened the door and was taken away at her beautiful girlfriend dressed in a silky black dress that made her look even more stunning than usual. "Wow, hi. You. ."she affirmed as she pulled her in for a hug.
Aubrey blushed at her girlfriend's reaction but was happy that she could have that effect though Stacie's attire was having the same effect on her. "Look who's talking. You're looking pretty sexy yourself." she added before pressing a soft kiss on her cheek. "You ready to go?"
"Well, thanks. I try."she winked. "Yeah, let's go."
"Ok, but before we start this night, I just want to say I'm sorry for how I reacted yesterday and I-" she stopped as the brunette cut her off.
"Don't 's not worry about that right now, let's just enjoy tonight." she insisted. And with that she leaned in a planted a sweet kiss on her lips.
At the restaurant
Aubrey was happy that Stacie wanted to just focus on them for the night and not what happened yesterday but she knew that they couldn't avoid it. Plus it was really the only thing on Aubrey's mind. But she was going to wait till the right moment to bring it up and the restaurant certainly wasn't the moment. Especially the one they were at. Somehow Aubrey managed to get reservations at one of the fanciest restaurants in the city, Emeril's. And this was just the beginning.
"This restaurant is so nice Bree. No one's ever taken me to a place as nice as this."Stacie admitted as she reached across the table to grab her girlfriend's hand.
Aubrey smiled back at her giving her hand a little squeeze. "They should have, because you deserve it. Order anything you like."
"Oh, stop."she blushed. "I guess I should have upped the gifts I sent you."
Aubrey shook her head. "Oh no, honey. Your gifts were perfect. It was the best surprise Valentine's Day gift I've ever gotten. Anyone can buy dinner but yours took thought and effort and I'll take that over anything."She laughed a bit, "I guess I just degraded my own gift."
Stacie grinned and laughed a little as well. "I'm glad you liked it. And sure anyone can buy dinner but I don't want to go to dinner with just anyone, I want to go with there."
"Well then. I guess this night is perfect then. " she concluded.
The rest of the night went rather smoothly for the two women. Conversation was light as neither woman could truly open up out of fear of bringing up yesterday. But they spent the time staring into each others eyes, exchanging loving words, and just enjoying each others presence as well as the food. For both of them, that was enough. But the night was far from over.
When their time at the restaurant came to a close, they gathered their respective things and left the place hand in hand. Once they were outside they waited for the valet to bring their car. Stacie turned and faced Aubrey and took both her hands in hers. "This was a wonderful dinner. I can't even begin to describe how much happier I am just being with you. I love you."
Aubrey smiled at the kind words being said to her as she leaned in and kissed Stacie passionately. "I love you too." she responded keeping their faces close. "Now, come on. The night isn't over yet." she smiled taking Stacie's hand and leading her to the car.
"Where are we off to now?"Stacie asked.
"You'll see."
At the Barden campus
As they arrived back at the Barden Campus Stacie was more confused about what was coming next than before. There was nothing that screamed Valentine's Day hangout at Barden, so she thought. As they got out of the car Aubrey met Stacie on the other side and handed her a facial mask to cover her eyes. "Put this on. I'll be leading you the rest of the way." she winked before taking her girlfriends hand. Surprisingly Stacie simply complied and followed her. Had this been anyone else she might not have trusted them to lead her but she trusted Aubrey more than anyone else. Aubrey was sure to walk at a decent pace and made sure that they weren't walking over any rocks, tree branches, or anything that might result in either of them tripping. Luckily where they were going wasn't too far and they got there within five minutes. "Alright, you can take off the blindfold." Aubrey assured her.
As Stacie removed the facial mask her eyes took in an purely illuminating sight. It almost made her forget that they were at Barden. There was a candle-lit path leading to the gazebo that they had reconciled in. The gazebo was decorated with lights and there was even a table set for two with a covered tin platter on it. Stacie covered her mouth as she was speechless, it was all so beautiful and just being there brought back a good memory. "I don't know what to say." she finally got out.
Aubrey smiled at her and took her hand once more as she led her up the stairs to the table. "You don't have to say anything, just enjoy this lovely dessert." she said as she removed the top of the platter and revealed two slices of cake. "Oh and can't forget the music." she added before she turned on the iHome that was placed on the edge of the railing.
Stacie was in awe once more, she couldn't believe this night, and how she got so lucky to be with someone like Aubrey. "You're incredible." she said before planting a soft kiss on her lips. After she pulled away she sat down and admired the cake. "And this looks delicious."
"Well, let's find out." she said as she delved her fork into the sliver of sponginess and took a bite. "Mmm, looks delicious and tastes delicious."
"Agreed." Stacie said taking another bite. "This is really something you know, this gazebo just keeps doing good things."
"Its funny that you say that, I guess that's part of the reason why I brought you here." she put her fork down as it was time for somewhat serious matters. "I figured we really needed to talk and this would be a good place to do it. And I know that we said tonight we wouldn't talk about yesterday but we should and I want to. That is, if you do."
"Oh, um yeah. I do and we should." she cleared her throat." Do you want to start or...I don't know how we should begin this."
Aubrey reciprocated by clearing her throat as well knowing she had a lot to say and her voice was bound to get shaky. "I'll start. So, I, as I said earlier I'm sorry for the way I reacted. I really didn't know what to say or what to do but I felt horrible for what I did do. I didn't mean to make it seem like I was running away because I'm not. "
"Don't be sorry, I'm not mad at you though I was a little sad when you left but I understand why you did. Its kind of scary to think about but its ten times as scary for me because well, its me that's pregnant. Me that has to make all the big decisions. Me that it effects."
"That's just it, its not only going to effect you, its going to effect me too because I'm not leaving you anymore. I'm keeping my promise, I'll be there for you for anything and everything."she said. "I care about you too much not to be."
"Really? You are? That makes me so happy to hear. I was so scared that I was going to lose you. When we made that promise I don't think either of us even considered pregnancy and it was shocking to both us. But the next thing that came to mind when I found out was how I was going to tell you and I didn't want to because I was afraid you wouldn't want to be apart of my life anymore. So that's why I didn't say it right away. But I also knew that I couldn't be my normal self without you knowing. And then when you left I knew that I shouldn't have told you but keeping it from you would have been worse. " Stacie confessed as a single tear escaped her eye. "Sorry, I don't mean to get emotional and ramble-y. I guess these pregnancy hormones kick in fast."
A small smile tugged at Aubrey's mouth as she stared into the teary eyes of her girlfriend. "Remember when you said I was cute when I ramble? I see what you mean, you're pretty adorable yourself when you do it." she chuckled softly. "But back to what you were saying, I didn't mean to scare you. Just think of it this way, if I would have stayed, I might have risked throwing up on you from being so nervous about not knowing what to say or do."she confessed.
"Psh, you're so much cuter."Stacie wiped the tears away and cracked a smile not being able to contain what emotions she was showing. "Ah, well thanks for that I guess. But I would have dealt with it. You might have forgotten that I'm kinda in love with you, so you don't have to be nervous or anything. Just be you. "
"We're not arguing about who's cuter. You are, case closed. "Aubrey demanded. "Being me is all I can do, and I'm happy that I can just be me with you. So thanks."she smiled as she stood up slightly from her chair and leaned across the table to place a kiss on Stacie's lips.
"Fine."Stacie said in defeat. "No need to thank me, unless you want to thank me some more with those lips. Then by all means go ahead." she smirked.
"Well, why don't we head to your dorm and I'll show just how thankful I am." Aubrey suggested.
"I like the sound of that."Stacie eagerly agreed as she stood up. She extended her hand to Aubrey, "Shall we?"
"We shall." Aubrey complied as she took her hand and began leaving the gazebo.
At Stacie's dorm
As the two girls approached the dorm, both were giggly and more touchy-feely than ever before. Stacie had her arm wrapped tightly around Aubrey's lower body while Aubrey's hand roamed freely around Stacie's back, sometimes drawing lines all around it. When they were only a few dorms away Stacie noticed something in front of her door and as they got closer it appeared to be flowers and a card. Aubrey had really outdone herself, so she thought. But little did she know that Aubrey was equally surprised at seeing the items. When they finally got to the door, Stacie smiled and turned to Aubrey and hugged her amorously. "More flowers? You've really outdone yourself Bree."
Aubrey shook her head in confusion as she looked at the flowers and the card. "But I didn't buy you these."
"You didn't?" Stacie asked. "Hmm, well then who did?" she questioned again as she picked up the flowers and the card. She unlocked her door and walked inside and opened the card and the inside read: To Stacie, Happy Valentine's Day. Hope you fixed things with your girl. If not, I can be very comforting and I'm here. I will be for the next 18 years. From, James. P.S. That didn't sound so creepy when I first wrote it, it was supposed to be funny. Stacie found herself chuckling a little at the unexpected message. "That was sweet." But when she looked at Aubrey who didn't have the same expression as her, the laughter died down. "Its uh...its from James." She handed her the card.
Aubrey looked it over and wasn't amused at all. She didn't feel any compassion or happiness from it. "Why is he sending you gifts? Is this his way of trying to make up for what he did? And why did he say 'hope you fixed things', what'd you tell him?"
"Whoa, Aubrey calm down. I don't know why he sent it. I mean maybe he's just being nice. Yesterday after I left your place I went to talk to him and I told him the news. He asked why I seemed down and I said why. Its not that big of a deal." she explained.
"Oh. I'm sorry, I guess the Chloe multiple question syndrome has been passed to me. And I'm still not over what he did to you and I never will be." she apologized. "What else did he say, you know about the situation?"
"Its fine." Stacie took a deep breath. "He said that he would take care of him/her and that he wants to be in their life if we choose to keep it. He doesn't think I should get an abortion and neither do I. So we agreed there. But ultimately he said we should discuss our options. And since it is his kid regardless of the bad he did, I really need you to put that aside as we figure this out. I want you to be apart of this but only if we can be civil about it."
Aubrey sighed, she didn't want to be civil, she didn't even think that the jerk should have a say but she was going to be civil for Stacie. "Alright. I'll be good. For you. But the minute he says or does the wrong thing, all bets are off."
Stacie laughed. "That's all I ask." She tossed the flowers to the side and moved closer to Aubrey placing her hands on her waist. "Now, enough about him. I want to focus on you." she whispered seductively before connecting their lips in a lustful kiss. "How can anyone say no to those lips." Aubrey mentioned as she momentarily pulled away. The two slowly walked back to the bed and fell blissfully onto it when they got close enough. For the rest of the night their lips meshed together gracefully, clothing flew off, hands roamed bodies, and love was truly in the air.
Howdy! Hope you liked this chapter! There was quite a lot of fluff, which is not my favorite, I enjoy writing fights lol. Can't wait for the real pain in Passion, Pain, Pleasure. I might even shed a tear or two writing it.
Also there was a teeny tiny bit of Bechloe, if you guys would enjoy seeing more of them, I'd be happy to add some more later in the story.
Last but not least, I've decided that I want to expand my writing to more than just this fic because some days I want to write, just not this story. Weird but that's just how I am. So I've opened my, to receiving prompts and stuff. I currently have two that I will get to asap. So if you have one, send it in and I'll get to it! My user is tripletka-shiet . Hope y'all have a wonderful week!
