I own nothing. Enjoy!
Area-Z(2): Prairie's Room
Prairie shivered as she lay in her bed. She wasn't cold, so she didn't understand why she was shaking. She slowly turned over to look at the sleeping girl beside her.
Aile looked peaceful when she slept, she also looked calm. Prairie gave a sad smile as she inched more into the girl's warm embrace.
Much had happened over the last few weeks, all of which centered around the Chosen. Prairie was surprised when Aile seemed to take it all in stride. Shivering again Prairie pushed those thoughts from her mind and pushed herself even further into the embrace.
'Why am I so cold? I am in the arms of the one I love, this is the warmest place on earth right now.'
Shaking her head Prairie cleared all thoughts from her mind. She may have wanted to know why she was shivering, because she was NOT cold, but she didn't want to dwell on such serious things this late at night.
Several minutes passed slowly as the girl's thoughts slowly drifted back to Aile.
'All of the things she has had to put up with, and she can still sleep soundly. It is a miracle she hasn't snapped.'
Prairie slowly lifted a hand and placed it on Aile's cheek. The sleeping girl pushed herself into the touch and seemed to purr, which Prairie thought was just adorable.
She sat and thought about the girl, uninterrupted until the girl groaned and wrapped her arms tighter around the Repliroid girl. Prairie gave a silent 'eep' before she relaxed against Aile. She could feel Aile's bandages underneath her night shirt, and suddenly more bad thoughts started floating in.
'She keeps getting hurt, but she doesn't seem to care. Just going along with everything as it comes. Yet, how much can she ignore before it breaks her?'
Prairie had always admired Aile's resilience to most things. Being the Chosen for the False Livemetal, able to get up from near death to keep fighting. Her ability to always find a way to make Prairie smile when she does anything adorable.
She loved this girl, but she also feared her.
Aile went into battle every day, not thinking of the consequences, while Prairie thought on them all. It made Prairie scared that Aile might one day not come back, and she knew she would never be able to live if that happened.
"But, I'll always find a way back to you."
Prairie's eyes grew wide as she moved to look at Aile. The girl was giving her a worried look.
"Don't be sad Prairie, I will never leave you alone like that."
Prairie simply chuckled as Aile continued her worrying.
"Is it that obvious? Even when you are asleep you know what I am thinking."
Aile's serious look faded into a smile as she started to giggle.
"I know everything about you Prairie, if you worry I worry. Now, I will not allow you to feel scared, or sad."
"Yet you have to admit it is a legitimate reason to be concered. What if one day I send you out on a mission and you don't-"
Prairie was silenced by a kiss by Aile, she could feel her worries start to fade. Aile seemed to want to remove all doubt from her love. They seperated and Aile smiled with a wink.
"Hehe, when did you become so confident?"
"The day I met you."
"That is a cliche answer."
Aile puffed out her cheeks and Prairie laughed.
"It is true though, the day I met you was one of the best days of my life."
Prairie raised an eyebrow, she knew that same day was when she escaped the facility, but she took the compliment.
"Besides, if you are so worried about me not coming back. Why not come with me? If you are there then I have to work extra hard to come back!"
Prairie opened her mouth to say something, but seeing Aile's determined expression caused her to keep quiet.
"Your not going to take any other answer than yes are you?"
"Nope, I want you to not have to worry, so this is the best option."
Prairie took a few moments to think of what Aile had proposed, she smiled after she had her answer.
"Okay, from tomorrow onward, I shall accompany you when you go out for missions."
Aile smiled and pulled Prairie into an even tighter hug, which Prairie didn't even know was possible. After several moments of intense hugging, they seperated.
"This is going to be fun!"
"Yes, but how about we go back to sleep know."
Aile nodded and the two proceeded to settle down. Prairie felt relieved, all of her negative thoughts dispelled.
When Prairie could feel the grip of sleep, she was lightly shaken by Aile.
"Prairie, I am too awake right now. Can we do something?"
Prairie didn't answer for the longest time, but she gave in.
"Fine, what did you have in mind?"
