"Your academy sounds amazing, Mr. Ozpin." Celica said with her usual smile while holding a cup of tea in her hands. "Although I have a feeling I wouldn't make a good student. My grades at our school for the Mage's Guild were pretty horrific…" She mumbled, taking a small sip.
Ozpin smiled in amusement, sipping from his own mug. He, along with Celica and Rachel sat together at a table in a field of roses while Valkenhayn refilled their drinks. "The academics are important, but are just one small step in my students in becoming huntsmen and huntresses. Is magic abundant in this world, or rather a rarity?" He asked while setting his mug down.
"It would be the latter, unfortunately." Rachel answered. "With the Black Beast and the frequency of Seithr, magic became naught a common practice."
The grey-haired professor nodded, gazing up above the large full moon above them and the nearby gothic castle. "This realm… Time moves at a slower pace, I'm assuming?"
"You are indeed correct, Professor." The old butler confirmed, refilling the mug with hot chocolate. "From here, Madam Rachel observes the real world itself. Or rather, our own world, all things considered."
"It's peaceful, but one may tend to get lost here." Ozpin picked up his mug once again. "At least a mere mortal, that is."
Rachel chuckled at this, brushing her hair back when her smile faded.
"Are you not one?" Asked a floating plush red bat that flapped its comedically tiny wings. "Or are you some kind of-OW!" He flinched back as he was struck. "But P-Princess…"
"Silence, Gii." Ordered the lolita vampire. "I did not ask for your opinion."
"Back on topic…" Ozpin stated after another sip, "You believe some unsavory characters from your world has entered mine?"
"We did not intend this," Said Hakumen as he walked towards the group with a strange cat man in an orange coat, "but their actions are far beyond our control."
The one-eyed cat nodded, his nose twitching. "We're sorry about it. None of ya asked for a war from another world comin' over uninvited."
"No one wishes such a thing." Ozpin added, turning to face the two warriors. "But I fear it may feed the Grimm that roam my world. With the people of Remnant aware of otherworldly threats, it may cause mass hysteria. Fear and hatred fuel the darkness."
"As it does to Terumi." Hakumen muttered. "Which is why we would appreciate an alliance."
Ozpin stood from his seat, holding onto his mug and cane while nodding in agreement. "I already have my own group within the shadows. We've kept secrets from our citizens in hopes there would be no uprising in despair."
"Don't worry 'bout it," the cat man said with a kitty smile, "we've got yah back."
"Our scientist, Kokonoe, wishes to send you back with Jin Kisaragi." Rachel chimed in. "He can help inform your allies of our newly found trust."
"I already have an objective of my own…" Mumbled the blonde who stood away with his arms crossed. "Send someone else."
Hakumen glanced over at the young man and back to the older girl. "He has a point. Perhaps send myself or at least another."
"We cannot predict what can happen, Mr. Hero." Rachel said with a stern tone. "If he encounters Noel and Makoto, then he can inform them on how to combat the Mind Eater the Imperator has placed on Tsubaki."
Jin blinked, looking over at the vampire then at the samurai knight. With a scoff, his hands went to his hips as he stepped forward. "Fine, but this plan the Colonel has better not fail."
"Hmph." Hakumen nodded and turned towards Ozpin. "Be wary. Should any of your huntsmen or students engage Terumi or Relius, I cannot guarantee their survival."
"I'll keep that in mind." The headmaster said, looking at Jin. "Are you ready?"
The blonde man only gave a silent nod.
Grunting as she was kicked down by the multicolored criminal, Yang rolled away and avoided Neo's flipping axe kick. Pulling back, Yang lunged ahead with a punch, only to get her arm locked between Neo's arm and umbrella. The small criminal used this opportunity to kick her leg up and strike her larger opponent in the face then did a straight kick into the chest.
Yang groaned as she slid across the ground while Neo backflipped over to get closer. As soon as she got up, the blonde began trading blows that were blocked or deflected by the half-brunette, half-pinkette's superior defense, Neo used this against Yang, pushing her back towards a peculiar vertical wooden crate.
Yang's anger distracted her, which proved to become an advantage as Neo waved her hand with an odd purple glow. When Yang readied a punch, an arm broke out of the crate and smashed across the side of her head, sending her staggering away.
"Huh?!" She struggled to regain her footing as the purple doll, Nirvana, freed itself from the crate with metal fingers ready to strike. Yang simply glared at the machine, charging with a punch that was deflected and countered with a slash across the side.
Neo flipped behind Yang, backflipping into another kick that pushed Yang into a punch from Nirvana, sending her back towards Neo to be struck with the handle of her umbrella. With the outnumbered blonde practically cornered, the two struck her back and forth like a pinball machine until Nirvana began a rush of rapid metal punches. Slammed by the recoil of the barrage, Yang spun as Neo used her umbrella handle to pull her off her feet, opening her up for Nirvana's uppercut that sent her straight into the roof of the train car, leaving a firm dent.
With the young huntress now unconscious, Neo smiled while slowly approaching her and unsheathing a thin knife from within her umbrella handle. The smile grew increasingly sadistic while she raised the blade higher until the arrival of a lonesome attacker slid in, attempting to strike at her. Neo jumped back out of the way, staying close to Nirvana.
The swordswoman quickly sheathed her weapon before momentarily drawing it once more, revealing an extended red blade. Neo widened her eyes, putting away her knife and grabbing her humanoid weapon as both vanished into thin air.
Early that coming morning, lying in the rented bed on his back, Ragna grimaced at the increasing volume of the emergency horns. Getting up with a groan, he rubbed his head. "The Hell is that…?" He grumbly asked, stepping on the ground and staggering towards the window. As he gazed outside, his eyes went wide at the endless hoards of Grimm running across the streets, chasing any civilian they came across. It was there, he saw one leap towards the building he was in and heard screams coming from downstairs.
One of the Innkeepers screamed, hastily backing away from a Creep that growled hungrily at her. It jumped up towards her, jaws wide open. With what she thought was her last scream, the tanned woman cowered and awaited death, but it never came. Opening her eyes, she gasped and saw the Grimm split in half as Ragna held his sword in both hands.
"Get to safety, now!" He shouted, moving his head to point her the way.
Shakily standing up, she looked outside and saw him walking towards the hoards. "W-Wait, don't!" She held out a hand.
"I got this, lady." He shot down her words of concern. "Just get out of harm's way, okay?"
She blinked slowly, pulling her hand away with a nod, running deeper into the building.
"Gimme a break…" With a shake of his head, Ragna swung his blade and ran out to take on the dark monsters.
"Makoto, watch out!" Noel yelled, shooting an Ursa multiple times before it could strike the squirrel girl.
Turning around, Makoto nodded and punched a spinning Boartusk away. "These things must be common around here!"
"They're usually not in the cities!" Scarlet clarified, sending his grappling hook into a Beowolf and pulling himself over to stand on top of it. "How'd they get in?" He then fired a few shots in its head to put it down.
"I'm not sure," Sage replied, swinging his blade after slaying another Grimm, "but we need to find out soon."
"Where the heck are Sun and Neptune?!" Shouted Makoto as she grabbed the same Boartusk and flung it into Sage's sword.
Scarlet groaned and clenched his cutlass. "Bollocks, they're gonna have to catch up to us!"
"Come on!" Noel said, looking down the street. "There's some running that way!"
The boys nodded, running after her with Makoto towards the center of town where Teams RWBY and JNPR were fending off the source of the hoards near a crater in the street. Scarlet and Sage joined in the fray. When Noel and Makoto saw the falling Ursa slashed up by Jaune, they heard footsteps next to them.
"Nobody move!" Sun ordered, holding out a badge with enthusiasm. "Junior Detectives!"
Neptune did the same, smirking with his friend. "We have badges, so you know it's offical."
As the two bumped fists, Makoto turned to Noel, blinking slowly before both just shook their heads in disapproval. They then glanced up at the sound of engines in the air, watching countless Atlas airships fly above the city.
On one of the rooftops, Hazama and Relius stood to watch the entire battle unfold before them as unseen spectators to a sports game. They saw the countless white battle droids drop down to unleash their weapons on the Grimm, fighting alongside everyone else.
"Cry 'havoc', and let slip the dogs of war." Relius recited poetically, hands behind his back. "It seems Atlas does not hold back their military might."
Hazama shrugged, flicking up his hat with his finger. "Well well well, if it isn't Miss Vermillion and Miss Nanaya." He chuckled with glee, opening one eye. "How did they end up here?"
Relius glanced down at the two fighters they were familiar with and smirked. "It is in fact them. Curious." He stroked his chin with a lighter chuckle. "No doubt by Dimensional Interference…"
Below, an Ursa Major slammed its claws on the ground, furiously growling at Yang. Before she could punch it first, Makoto jumped over and punched its head down. Ticked off by the hit, the Ursa pulled its right claw back to hit the squirrel, only to be parried by a punch in the chest.
"Here ya go!" Makoto created a ball of energy, punching it towards the large Grimm. At the same time, Yang sent a shotgun blast, both stunning it for them to finish it. "You ready to pummel it to the moon?" Makoto asked with a grin.
"Heck yes!" Yang pumped her gauntlets after cracking her knuckles. "Ooooooaaaaahhhhh!" Both rushed with a double barrage of punches that angled upward then finished with a double uppercut, "HAH!", sending it skyhigh until it became just a speck of light. "Oh yeah!" Yang punched her fists together, smiling at the beastkin.
"That's how you do it!" Makoto fist pumped and gave Yang a high-five.
Noel found herself surrounded by multiple Grimm, each flashing their drool covered fangs. Taking a deep breath, Noel let it out calmly and stepped up on a Beowolf's knee, hurling herself to kick its face and propel herself higher. With a flash in her eyes, she began instantly targeting each of them around her as she spun, becoming a tornado of gunfire as the beasts staggered and fell one by one next to a pile of bullet cases that ejected out of her guns. Landing on her feet, the emerald-eyed shooter flipped her guns and made them fade away to be replaced by a large minigun she held with ease. "Fenrir!" She yelled, aiming it towards a Deathstalker and fired a relentless volley of bullets. It broke apart into burning pieces, to which gave Noel the chance to let go of the trigger and see the damage it caused. A whistle caught her attention. "Huh?" She turned around.
"Sweet gun." Holding onto her own minigun with one hand, Coco complimented her with a grin and pulled down her sunglasses. "And cute outfit."
Taken back by this, Noel fluttered her eyes. "U-Uhh… Thanks…" She then turned over, both looking up to continue shooting their destructive weapons at Nevermores up in the sky, turning them into dark, feathery paste. With her minigun vanishing and returning to the pair of handguns, Noel holstered them and turned around to gasp at someone grunting.
Coco turned around and held up her weapon. "Velvet!"
Hazama raised an eyebrow at the sight down below, then tossed off his hat. "Excuse me, Colonel. It's time I finally make an entrance.
Crawling backwards after being knocked down, the rabbit Faunus held up her box as an Alpha Beowolf stomped closer and closer. It went to claw at her but stumbled forward as its leg was caught by a crimson monster head clamping down with bruning fangs. It roared until it was flung into the air by a sword. Noel leaned in to get a closer look and widened her eyes. "R-Ragna?"
Scoffing at the creature, the Grim Reaper leapt into the air and held out his sword. Glancing at the unfamiliar man, Ruby folded up her scythe and watched carefully as the weapon began to unfold and its parts shift until it took the form of a gigantic scythe with a red energy blade. Starting with one swing, Ragna began slashing apart the older Grimm, red orbs leaving its body and entering his. Quickly changing back into a sword, "Huuuaaaahhh!", Ragna lifted the blade and brought it down on the Beowolf, sending it back onto the ground with a thud. Once it was killed, he raised Blood-Scythe back up, twirling it until he placed it behind his waist on his jacket.
From her eyes, Ruby saw his back turned to her with his weapon showing and his face unseen. She only blinked while gazing at this man. The speed and aggression in his fighting style. The weapon. It reminded her of the mentor responsible for her own techniques. Her uncle. With the brief flash of Qrow in place of Ragna, all the young huntress could let out was a soft, "Whoa…"
"Ragna!" Noel shouted, running towards the Grim Reaper as the ground was being rebuilt almost instantly.
"Noel?" He turned his head towards her. "What the Hell are you doing here?"
"What about you?" She asked while running up to him with Makoto. "How'd you end up here?"
His eyes rolled as he let out a groan. "Blame Kokonoe and the Red Devil. They dropped me in some forest far from the city."
As everything was getting cleaned up, the three of them were approached by Oobleck and Port. "What excellent timing, sir." The short huntsman said with his hands at his back.
"Indeed," the green-haired doctor nodded in agreement, "though I don't think I've met a huntsman like yourself."
Ragna shook his head, "Uh, no I'm not a huntsman. I'm really not from around here."
Oobleck lowered his glasses. "Oh, then are you from another Kingdom?"
"I-" Before he could speak, a red blur stood in front of him.
"OH MY GOODNESS OH MY GOODNESS!" Ruby jumped up and down with stars in her eyes. "YOU'RE SO AWESOME! THE SWORD, THE SCYTHE, THE SWORD AGAIN AND THE CUTTING AND ALL THAT! OH, YOU'RE JUST LIKE MY UNCLE, BUT MORE RED WHICH IS SOOOO COOL! AND YOU WITH ALL THE GUNS!" She pointed at Noel. "HOW DO YOU CHANGE THEM INTO OTHER GUNS? THE PISTOLS AND THE MINIGUN!"
"U-Uhmm…" Noel gulped and rubbed the back of her head.
"Miss Rose!" Glynda Goodwitch snapped, walking over to them. "Don't be like that towards strangers."
"...Sorry…" Ruby ducked her head.
The blonde huntress turned her attention to the man in red with slight glare in her eyes. "Who exactly are you and where are you from?" She questioned with demand.
Ragna sighed and opened his mouth, "Well, I-" He felt the ground shake as did everyone else, "Oh, what now?!" Under one of the airships, a massive serpent shot out from the ground, holding the aircraft in its mouth before crushing it in its jaw. It was like a King Taijitu, yet clearly had a green color to contrast the red eyes.
"What kind of Grimm is that?!" Weiss gazed up, pointing the tip of Myrtenaster towards it.
Blake clenched Gambol Shroud, aiming down her sights. "I don't think that's any kind of Grimm…"
"That's…" Ragna backed up, reaching behind for his sword as he tensed up. "Tch… It's Ouroboros…"
As if on cue, there was the faint sound of clapping from above the snake's head. "Ding ding ding ding!" A voice called out with a sarcastically cheery tone, "You are correct! And your host for today is none other than yours truly…" The man in black stood proudly on the snake, clapping his hands together with his green-hair spiked up.
"You bastard…" Grinding his teeth together, Ragna drew his sword. "TERUMI!"
Finally, I've made it to the Breach. I've taken too long for this.
And to anyone that disliked Yang's fight last chapter, just know that I've got something planned later on, don't worry.
Again, please feel free to give your thoughts on this. I read any review, good or bad.
