Hello my darlings. Sorry It's been so long. I went away for 7 months to deal with my writers block. By the time I got over it and started writing again, I ended up in the hospital giving birth to my daughter (Her names Amethyst, haha), so she is taking most of my time, but I'll try and update once in awhile! :D
Taichi
Juliet, as she insists we call her, (We being Kasolite and myself, Kari still has to call her Queen Faerie) speaks in a language I don't understand to Yamato and..his brother. Yamato doesn't seem interested, but Takeru speaks back. Yamato basically ignores her. Which can't be good for any of us. I watch Angel pace behind Yamato, clearly giving away his mood.
"Taichi," I jump as Kari says my name.
"Yeah?" I turn my head to look at my sister.
"Do you think they're really only going to take from Yamato?"I chew on my lip before shrugging.
"I never paid attention to our teachings, you should know that."
"That's why I'm asking. Nothing I've ever read says they'll just take from one person, Tai. And it's not like Yamato's been truthful this far." Ice blue eyes whip around and land on us, and I wonder if Yamato heard her.
"I don't know, Kari." I tell her. She sighs, and fidgets beside me. At some point Kasolite joins us too. He says something to my sister, but I only take note of their voices, not the words. Yamato has lost interest in us, and has turned back to Angel. She sits patiently in wolf form, watching everything. I glance back at Kasolite, whose human, but also watching. I doubt with the same intensity as Angel though. I wonder where Angel learned to be the way she was. Kasolite should act like that. I've had more then one person with an animal partner tell me he's disrespectful. To me, not to them, but I like the way Kasolite treats me. Makes me feel like he trusts me.
"Taichi," Kasolite says, at the same time Angel says "Master."
Yamato looks at her, and I don't turn away from him.
"What?" I ask. Kasolite is very quiet, but suddenly Angel moves, pinning Yamato beneath her, at the same time Kasolite jumps in front of Kari and I. Kasolite is suddenly a very angry lion, blocking my view of everything. I hear Juliet say something in a language I don't understand, and Takeru's cry of surprise. However, the thing that stands out most, is Yamato saying
"Get the hell off me!" And Angel's yelp. I feel Kasolite flinch, and probe in his brain for what happened, but get nothing. I hear Juliet and the other Faeries. Then there's silence. Kasolite moves then, allowing me to see that Yamato is still pinned under the bulk of Angel's chest, and Takeru is being held down by a giant paw. Yamato looks pissed. Angel allows him up, and he shoots her a nasty glare. Kari flinches at it. Angel just blinks her big eyes at him.
"What happened?" I ask. No one even looks at me, it was like I never spoken. "Kas," I warn.
"Nothing, Tai." Kas informs me.
"Kasolite, don't lie to happened?" I demand. Kasolite sighs.
"Yamato's mother." It's enough to let me know why everyone got so edgy, but still doesn't tell me what happened. I let it drop though. Juliet speaks, and there's responses. Again, she speaks in a language I don't understand.
"Taichi, Kari, come on." Takeru is still climbing to his feet after being released by Angel. I walk over to the blonde, my sister a few steps behind me.
"What's happening?" I ask.
"We're going back to Juliet's home. Apparently we need to rest, and time to mourn." He says.
"Rest for what?" Kari asks. Takeru shrugs.
Yamato is some distance ahead of us, and he doesn't give us the time to catch up. He walks right at Angel's side, nestled between her and Juliet. Juliet tries numerous times to speak to him, all of which he ignores.
"Is he going to get in trouble for that?" Kari finally asks Takeru.
"I'm not sure. Probably. If he was any one else. I mean, technically, he's the only heir to our land."
"Really? Wouldn't your sister..?" Kari asks.
"Nah. We all have different parents." Takeru says.
"What?" I ask.
"Well, Nikki is Hiroaki's child, with a different woman. From the Light. And Natsuko is my mother, but my father is from the Light. And Yamato is Natsuko and Hiroaki's. Which makes him the only heir."
"That's messed up." I say, without thinking. Takeru shrugs.
"I agree." Yamato makes us jump. Takeru blushes at the fact he'd been caught telling secrets. Kari looks away.
"I don't even want the damn..kingdom. Or whatever you'd call it," Yamato says, "I'm happy with my mutt." He says. Angel gives him an offended look, which Yamato ignores. The atmosphere changes then, and we remain silent.
Yamato
Now that we've actually found Juliet, I'm unsure if I really want her help. Although it doesn't really matter anymore, she knew I was searching for her, so she came. And now I'm stuck with it. I already know the price for her help. Thankfully, it's probably something I'd have to give up eventually anyways. It'll probably just be a tad bit sooner then I wanted. I listen to Takeru talk to Taichi and Kari, and finally chime in when Takeru talks too much. They fall silent after that. Whether it was me, or if they felt the shift in moods around us, I'm not entirely positive. It doesn't take much longer to find a hidden doorway, though and once we pass through, which Taichi and Kari didn't even notice, the energy changes again. So much so that even Taichi looks up, curious. Takeru moves up beside me as we come to a stop so Juliet can speak to her people.
"What happened?" He whispers.
"Hidden doorway. You should know this stuff." I say.
"Not that," He snaps, surprising me. "I'm so tired, I feel like I'm going to pass out." I eye brother.
I really look at him, and see past the brave face, and realize he is about to drop. Kari does drop, and I suddenly feel drowsy, too. Fucking faeries. When I wake up, it's dark. I am on a bed, and there's a body next to mine. I can feel Angel. She's much too far away for my comfort. I call out to her, but she ignores me. I push at the body next to me, to try and figure out who it is. The second my hand connects with the body, a series of images flashes inside my head, and I realize I'm watching Taichi dream about me and Nikki. I jerk my hand away and sit up. My eyes adjust surprisingly slow, but I do eventually notice Takeru and Kari across the room. And candles. I pull down deep in my gut, to call on fire. The candles light up at the same time. Takeru jerks, sitting up.
"Yamato." He says. Now that there's a decent supply of light, I look around, and Takeru, I assume, does the same. I wonder why Juliet had allowed that to happen, without warning us. I climb off the bed and call out to Angel again. And again, get no answer.
"What good are you if you never answer me? Damn dog."
"Who are you calling dog?" Is the immediate, angry reply.
"You answered, didn't you? What the hell is going on?" I pace the room, searching for the door, which I fail to see.
"It's for your safety."
"My ass. If it was, you'd be locked up too."
"I am." This shocks me, and I freeze. I throw myself into her, before she can stop me, to find that her and Kasolite are caged. A bubble of rage jumps through me, forcing me back into my own body. In the brief time I was gone, Taichi had woken, and sat up.
"There's no door," He says.
"Thank you for informing us," I snap back at him, he flinches, which I ignore. Takeru ignores me.
"What's happening? Where's Angel and Kasolite?" He asks. I shrug.
"They're caged. And apparently it's for our safety, which I don't believe."
"They put Kasolite in a cage?" Taichi shouts, jumping to his feet. "We have to get out of here!"
I roll my eyes, not bothering with a response. Because I think it's pretty obvious we need to get out of here.
