Mako watched as Korra sprinted towards the oncoming guards, leaving behind a blaze of flames that seemed to reach the sky, he watched as she threw blazes of flames at the guards who could only attempt to fight back with their flimsy spears that snapped under the heat of the flames. Smirking he rolled his sleeves up, exposing his forearms before running ahead, dodging guards and measly fire bending attempts just as he would on the pro-bending arena. Korra spun around taking out another group of guards, a smirk passing across her face as she saw Mako before launching into the air and landing swiftly next to him slamming her back against his, holding two daggers of flame in each hand and sweat pouring down her face.
"There's...too many of them...for the two of us." She gasped between gulps of breath.
Mako turned his head toward his left shoulder, keeping his eyes on the guards that began circling them with spears pointed strictly at their chests.
"When have a few guards been too much for a Fire Ferret?" He winked over his shoulder at her grinning face.
Korra ran forward and using what little air bending she had flung herself over a pair of guards knocking their heads together, completely on accident of course, before continuing her trek around the circle of men. He watched in amusement before a sharp spear knocked against his side, slicing through material and skin, whirling on the man who struck him, Mako ground out between clenched teeth, "This. Was. A. New. Suit."
Before slamming a clenched fist into his cheek, sending him spiraling backwards onto the cobblestone streets. Before either of them knew the street was empty apart from the few unconscious bodies lining the sidewalks and gutters, there weren't even any birds singing a song on the power lines above. It was dead silent. They looked at each other with shaky breaths, and sly smiles as they both began to laugh as they stumbled their way to each other to embrace, but it was cut short as a loud voice boomed out down the empty street.
"ENOUGH!"

Lee had watched the entire fight, however one-sided as the Avatar and her orphan lover took out some of the 'best' castle guard, grinding his teeth together he realized he would have to rethink most of their careers. Maybe a stunt as a guard at the Boiling Rock would straighten them out, yes that would be perfect punishment for ruining this day. He drummed his fingers on his clean-shaven chin in thought, watching the movements of both as they wiped out his guards and left them on the streets for death. Lee had a plan, he always had a plan. But when his plan failed he would have another, and another and another. This was a hiccup, true, but in the long run it wouldn't deviate from the course. He would play along. For now. Chuckling to himself, his chest rising and falling the amulet on his neck began to give off a slight sound, as soft as a baby's touch but there nonetheless, "Chaossss."

They watched as Lee made his way down the street, his steps small yet fast.
"I will not have some of my best guards thrown around like a child's plaything!" His face began to boil red with rage, "However, my mother has managed to convince me that this...wedding of sorts was not meant to be."
He turned to Korra, the rage sizzling away and loss lurking in his eyes,
"I'm sorry my dear, but it was not meant to be. I know you love me, but I do not love you. Take your orphan brat and leave my nation, and don't come back on your hands and knees. For I will not care."
Korra raised an eyebrow and cocked her head to the side which made her look like a polar bear dog, confusion written plainly on her face. Prince Lee smirked, ruining his royal poker face, and only then when everything was silent did he spin on his heel and take himself back to Ursa Hall to deliver the news to the entire gathering. Mako furrowed his brow, something was wrong but he couldn't place his finger on it until he heard a soft pat, pat, pat against the street that he looked down at his suit. The already red material had turned an even darker red, and the stench of blood made him feel sick to his stomach. Stomach! He gasped as he remembered the wound he received earlier from that damn lucky shot, he placed his hands over the material applying pressure to it while watching Korra's back in an attempt to figure out when she'll turn and see the blood dripping down. Which is exactly what happened not three seconds later.
"MAKO!" She ran forward as he collapsed into her, his face as white as the moon above. Tears streamed down her face and collected at her chin before dropping onto his cheek as she lay him down over her knees, cupping his face in her hands.
"You aren't allowed to leave me now. Not after everything!" He smiled gently, raising his right hand up to caress her cheek, but falling short as his strength left him. The last thing he saw was her face as his vision swam with darkness before being consumed.
