~ Almost no reviews on the last chapter... that makes me sad ):
~ I would have made this chapter longer but I wanted to keep the 'once a month' updating thing going. By the lack of reviews, I don't think many of you would mind anyway.
~ There is sort of a time jump between the last few chapters and this chapter. It will be explained within the chapter once you start reading.
Lexi (guest): This story won't go exactly along the season 4 timeline since I already have that up and completed under the name 'Changes Within'. If you think of the fact that I have in 'Down The Rabbit Hole', which is season 1 of The Originals... it's sort of obvious if she is or is not pregnant instead of Hayley (I'm not saying the actual answer for those that have not read 'Changes Within' yet). This story is going off course from the actual events considering I'm doing two universes and the consequences of the spell Chelsea did with Bonnie in the first chapter. I'm mainly just writing the story until Chelsea realizes what the spell is doing, her getting back to her original universe, and something else that I will not say (so I can keep it a surprise).
~ Remember, this is not the actual season 4 events for my Damon/Chelsea/Klaus storyline. That is a completed story named 'Changes Within'. This is an alternate version that takes place between two universes. (AU = Alternate Universe. OU= Original Universe).
~ There is a bit of a time jump since the last chapter. It just helps speeds up the story a bit.
ENJOY!
General POV (OU)
It had been two days since Chelsea opened her eyes. Dylan sat on the edge of the bed, holding his sister's hand. He was worried about her, more than anyone. His thumb rubbed against the back of her hand as he felt the warmth of her body. It was Klaus that pointed out to him after they moved Chelsea's body to his mansion. Dylan was given a room next to where they put Chelsea's body so he could be closer to his sister.
Klaus stood in the doorway and looked at Chelsea. He wanted to move her to his mansion so he could keep a better watch on her. He would never say it out loud, but he was afraid of losing her.
"She isn't getting any better." Dylan said as he tried to keep the worry out of his voice. "She's getting worse. Her heartbeat is slowing down, her body's getting warmer...I don't know what's happening or how long she'll last." Dylan closed his eyes and took a deep breath as Klaus took a few steps closer.
"I know a few witches that owe me." Klaus said as he looked at Chelsea. "They should be able to help."
"She might not make it another week." Dylan took a deep breath, trying not to get emotional. He didn't want to lose his only sister.
Chelsea's POV (AU)
I was in Klaus's kitchen, making a sandwich. He was in one of his rooms, talking on his phone. I didn't bother listening because I was thinking about my brother and what happened with my eyes. 'Maybe he'll know' I thought. It was clear that my brother was different than what he was before I did the spell... but hopefully he would be able to help me get everything back to normal.
After I was done making the sandwich, I put it on a plate and brought it with me as I went to my brother. Dylan was sitting on a chair, reading a book that I gave him. I had put a spell on the room that Klaus had him so Dylan couldn't get out because I didn't want him tied up the way Klaus had him. Dylan may be different, but he was still my brother.
"I brought you something to eat." I said as I stepped into the room with the sandwich. "Hope you're hungry." Dylan looked at me but didn't smile. I half-expected him to but everything has changed so it didn't surprise me. I put the plate on the table and sat on a chair. "Do you know of any reason why my eyes would turn orange... like a werewolves eyes?" He was about to reach for the sandwich but stopped and looked towards me. "You do know." I said in a whisper.
"It was never supposed to happen." He said as he sat on the edge of the chair.
"What was never supposed to happen?" I asked with curiosity.
"Do you really want to know?" He asked and all I did was nod my head. "When you were born, mom put a spell on you so you would never show the werewolf gene. No one would be able to..."
"Wait." I interrupted him. "The werewolf gene? How do I have the werewolf gene? I thought it was hereditary."
"It is."
"But mom is a witch and dad is a human."
"But dad was a warlock." I couldn't help but look at him with confusion.
"What do you mean?"
"Like I said, mom put a spell on you when you were born. It hid the werewolf gene that was passed to you. You weren't going to have any powers so dad sacrificed his powers and gave them to you."
"Dad was really a warlock." I whispered to myself in disbelief. "But how do I even have the werewolf gene?"
"I shouldn't even be telling you this..." He let out a sigh. 'He's not acting like he hates me' I couldn't help but think "...mom would kill me." He looked away. I looked at him for a few minutes before walking over to him. I bent down and made him look at me. He didn't look at me with the hate I saw in his eyes a few days ago.
"Tell me, please."
"You'd have to ask mom yourself." I gave a reluctant nod.
"Okay. One last question then. How come I can see your tattoo if I'm a vampire?"
"Because you, mom, and I are decentances of the witch who created The Five. Hunters who were created to find, cure and kill the first immortal being."
"Isn't that Klaus and his family?" I asked with some confusion. Dylan shook his head.
"The first immortal is named Silas and we're supposed to kill him."
General POV (OU)
Dylan had left to go talk to his fiance about ways to help his sister. Klaus stayed at his mansion, not even leaving the room that Chelsea was in. He was on the phone with one of the witches that still owed him after a few years. The whole time Klaus kept his eyes on Chelsea's body, hoping that she would wake up and be with him like they were going to before Alaric died. Klaus got angry with the witch that he was talking to and he threw his phone across the room. He groaned before looking at Chelsea. Klaus let out a sigh. All he wanted was Chelsea back, he didn't even care about looking for the cure. He sat on the edge of the bed and gently brushed Chelsea's cheek.
Damon walked through Klaus's mansion, trying to find the room that Chelsea was in. He wasn't told where she was, but he knew Klaus brought her there. He was about to walk past a room when someone caught his eye. Damon saw Klaus sitting on the bed next to Chelsea's unmoving body. He saw how gentle Klaus was being with Chelsea. 'Does he really care about her?' He asked himself. Damon stood in the hall and just silently looked into the room. 'Chelsea chose me' He thought confidently to himself. 'I'd let her be human if that's what she wants' He thought as he stood there, knowing Klaus could tell that he was there.
~ I know that it isn't the most exciting chapter, but it reveals something important (that will also be in 'Down The Rabbit Hole') and it gives the Original Universe part of the story of how long they have before they can't save Chelsea.
~ If there is not a good amount of helpful reviews on this chapter, I will end the story. I know it's short, but if I have to end it (because of lack of muse and reviews), I will make sure I will tie up all loose ends in a few epilogue chapters for both universes (I even have an idea on how to do it).
~ The wolf thing is an idea I want to have for Chelsea in her events for The Originals season 1. 'Down The Rabbit Hole'. If you read that story and this story, how do you like the idea of that? When/if she finds out in 'Down The Rabbit Hole', she'll have a different reaction since she's in a different situation for that.
~ REVIEW! The more reviews, the more chapters I'll add to the story (ONLY if the reviews are helpful/constructive).
R&R 'till the next time
