Recap of the last chapter

Morgan was given a brief tour of the 'new Berk' by Hiccup, before Astrid came along. She at first didn't remember Morgan, but after he and Hiccup brought up the past occurrences that involved Morgan himself, she slightly remembered him. But perhaps the biggest thing or even rumour perhaps, was this; Toothless and the Light Fury are on the island, right now.

CHAPTER 9: Furies amongst vikings

"SCUSE ME GUYS! WHAT'S GOING ON AROUND HERE? IT CAN'T BE TRUE, SURELY?!" Hiccup yelled, as he rushed through the thousands of vikings gathered at the shores; there was clearly a significant sight to behold here.

The amount of chatter going on amongst the numerous vikings made it feel like the inside of the Great Hall back at Berk. The morning sky was still arising with its vibrant shines of the sun, in the darkest orange going. Hiccup continued to carefully rush through the viking crowds, as they made a path for him to get through. They all smiled, chuckled, and some were even yelling out loud in excitement. Was it true? everyone being gathered here felt reminiscent of the time when the dragons all flew away during their first Snoggletog with the vikings, and the vikings had all rushed to Hiccup to ask him for his knowledge.

Hiccup finally pushed through, carefully, the front row of vikings, and his heart stopped.

"O-oh my god?" Hiccup whispered, as all the vikings remained silent as their chief needed time to emotionally acknowledge what was in front of him, as the ocean waters behind the two dragons in the Light Fury and Toothless gave off a relaxing atmosphere.

"TOOTHLESS BUD?!" Hiccup yelled, rushing over to his Night Fury friend; the second he collided with the dragon, he squeezed as hard as he could against the dragon's cold shiny scales.

Toothless nuzzled his head amongst Hiccup with the thickest purr going; two friends were completely reunited, and Hiccup's mind was sent into a dejavu of the times all the dragons used to be with the vikings years ago as he felt the warmth of Toothless's chest. The crowd of vikings watching the two friends reunite began clapping loudly, cheering at the same time.

"Toothless bud...you have no idea how happy I am to see you..." Hiccup whispered, unable to contain his tears of happiness at his dragon friend coming here.

Toothless placed one of his paws upon Hiccup's head to push him further into the dragon's own black shiny scaly chest; Toothless couldn't bare being away from his friend after recognising him two days ago, when he, Astrid, and their kids came towards The Hidden World on a boat, finding Toothless himself alongside the Light Fury with their Night Light babies on a bunch of rocks above the ocean.

And that was pretty much one of the reasons why Toothless came back; a few days ago, he recognised Hiccup after not seeing him for years; the dragon simply wanted to spend more time with his best friend, and now that he's got the Light Fury, who's seemingly became more bearable with humans nowadays, he has a better chance of doing that.

Hiccup moved away, as Astrid and their two kids came from the side of the crowd; the two kids instantly rushed over to Toothless to hug the Night Fury by his head. Toothless closed his emerald puppy eyes as Hiccup's two kids held onto his head; he purred with joy, before licking them gently. It was one of the most heartfelt reunions in ages. The crowd of vikings watching the moment had all expressed an 'aww' sound at what was happening.

Hiccup walked to Toothless's left, to see the Light Fury. She was certainly more capable of trusting humans nowadays, but she still had that wariness. Nonetheless, she knew Hiccup was a friend of Toothless, and so, she trusted him completely.

"Hey there...hope you've been doing alright...uh...Light Fury..." Hiccup said, thinking that he should just call her by her species since he doesn't have a name for her.

She, in her significantly higher pitched tone compared to Toothless, exchanged a heartfelt-squeak towards Hiccup. Her vibrant white scales were enough to distinguish her body from the clear view behind her, and her blue, almost sapphire like eyes were shiny enough to the point you could see yourself through them with ease. As vibrant looking and as relaxing as she looked, she still had glimpses of a wild dragon inside of her, but she was much more tolerable. Hiccup placed a hand on her head, rubbing her ever so gently as she let off a purr towards him. She smiled, almost human-like, towards Hiccup, before nuzzling herself back towards Toothless's neck with closed eyes. The two 'furies' if you will, purred between one another.

Hiccup received a shove from the back by none other than Astrid. But he wasn't alone with standing by the two dragons. Valka walked from the crowd towards Hiccup's family.

"I told you son, never lose hope..." Valka said, "some day, the rest of our dragons will be back...and it'll all be because of you...just look at how she reacted to you just now..." Valka added, referring to the Light Fury approving of Hiccup's stroking just now, despite everything that happened in the past, "you've overturned a wild dragon..."

"One day Hiccup, it's gonna be me in your position...you'll be in the background, and I'll be the main event of everything...and I can't wait for that day, so you better get ready to fall behind the line, hahahahah..." Astrid said.

"Yeah, uh, very funny, Astrid..." Hiccup sarcastically said, before he felt a tap on his shoulder from behind.

The crowd of vikings had laughed, and as soon as Hiccup turned around, Toothless was looking up at the sky, making curious-sounding rumbles amongst his throat. Even the Light Fury was smiling, as she let off laughing rumbles at what her mate just did. Evidently, Toothless had tapped his best friend on the shoulder, only to make it look as if he didn't, which once again made Hiccup's mind return to the days where he and Toothless messed around, apart from flying and so on.

"Toothless bud...you haven't changed at all, have you? hahahaha..." Hiccup chuckled, as the whole crowd chuckled as well with Hiccup's statement.

Valka, Astrid, Hiccup and the two kids remained with the dragons in the middle of the commotion, but from what was pretty much the 'second row' of vikings to the left was a taken aback Morgan. It was true...Toothless was here, but most importantly, so was the Light Fury. There was absolutely no chance that Morgan wanted to attempt his goal of being remembered by the Night Fury in front of everybody here, and so, he was willing to wait until later on, assuming Toothless stays on the island for a bit longer. But he couldn't help but give a more solemn stare whenever he looked at the white scaly Light Fury herself; she's the whole reason Toothless left Hiccup in the first place and as Morgan's just seen now, she's approved of Hiccup and considers him trustworthy as far as humans go, but that doesn't get rid of the past; she nearly KILLED Hiccup because of her cowardly instincts of being in the wild. Throwing him off Toothless at one point and then SMILING about it? hell no.

"Holllyyyy shiiiittttt..." Morgan said, unable to fully comprehend the reality of Toothless, by some miracle, being back around.

"ALRIGHT GUYS, I GUESS THESE TWO ARE GONNA BE STAYING WITH US FOR THE REST OF THE DAY I ASSUME?" Hiccup said, before the two dragons gave off a confused look at Hiccup.

They only gave confused looks with tilting heads at Hiccup because of this; who said it was just the two of them? the Light Fury, sitting up to move away from Toothless, had unveiled perhaps the most shocking thing to everyone of the vikings; the NIGHT LIGHTS were here. One was in white scales and black scales and had green eyes, one had mostly black scales and also white scales with blue eyes, and the other had mainly white scales with a few black spots with green eyes. The second the crowd had seen them, they all once again cheered and clapped out loud as Hiccup's two kids leaned down to stroke them. The Night Lights slowly walked with their wings dragging across the sand, giving a happy-like expression towards the two kids.

The Light Fury was the one who was more wary of her babies going around here than Toothless was, for obvious reasons. She knew Hiccup's kids were safe and trustworthy, so she didn't worry as much. But throughout this day, it's going to be her besides the Night Lights, because Toothless's life has been spent mostly with vikings, whereas the Light Fury has been in the wild, meaning she wants to be by her babies to guard them; however, she used her trust with Hiccup to calm her guarding instincts down.

"LOOK AT THAT GUYS!" Hiccup yelled, pointing to the ever-so-cute Night Light baby dragons.

The Light Fury let off a small purr at her babies, as did Toothless.

"I'm gonna bet Toothless has been a better father than you, Hiccup!" Astrid laughed, as Toothless also let off a laughing rumble.

"Give it a rest, Astrid, I'm a good dad?" Hiccup insisted, as Toothless walked right besides Hiccup to nuzzle up once again.

The Light Fury, in the midst of the crowd of vikings moving as it appeared to be the case that they, with the dragons, were heading to the village, walked more towards her Night Light babies to guide them.

Morgan was simply standing hidden in the crowd, wanting to wait for the perfect moment to jump into Toothless's field of vision. If it's not the vision that'll prompt the Night Fury's memory, Morgan had concluded on what might be the prompt; an odor from his deodorant perhaps? he's got one bottle of it in his bag from when he was planning to take it to college whilst he was in 'our world', so that could very well be a possibility to take advantage of.

"ALRIGHT GUYS, LET'S HEAD ON BACK!" Hiccup said, as he, Valka and Astrid started walking ever so slowly with the dragons.

Clearly, Hiccup's mind had been completely forgotten of Morgan because of Toothless being here. But the island was sent into a frenzy mood; there were DRAGONS, and it was the ALPHA WITH HIS MATE HERE, TO MAKE IT EVEN BETTER. And Morgan was somewhat glad that Hiccup forgot about him, because he didn't want to be in front of all of these vikings. He wasn't keen on that prospect. He wanted to 1. see Toothless where nobody else will be, and 2. confront the Light Fury at, again, where nobody else will be. But to do both of these things, he has to either time it right or come up with something that'll give the two dragons a reason to find Morgan himself.

Morgan was trying to be one of the last people amongst the crowd to walk back towards the main village, so both Toothless and the Light Fury could pick out somebody wearing a different type of clothing, and one that was much more vibrant to the point that it wasn't even a viking, but instead, a foreigner person who's from another place entirely. His heart was beating in anticipation, but as he tried to subtly get noticed, he could see that Valka, Astrid, Hiccup, the two kids, the baby dragons, and the two dragons themselves were too distracted to be looking around; they were clearly interacting with each other, and that made Morgan angry. His mind was so intent on getting Toothless to remember him any tiny mistake would enrage him.

Morgan wasn't alone in his behind position of the crowd, either, because a familiar face had popped by him.

"How're you doing?" Fistpunch asked, emerging from the far left, from a group of vikings to Morgan's left.

Morgan was caught by surprise from Fistpunch's emergence because of how eager he was to just get Toothless to look in his direction.

"Did you see that? holy...like...this is perfect, this is EXACTLY why I wanted to go to The Hidden World..." Morgan said, unable to get rid of that 'big moment' vibe in the air whenever he spoke, because of the dragons being here.

"I know...but I might have something I need to talk to you about...your knowledge on everything has pretty much..." Fistpunch was cut off his initial statement, "..why do you keep looking back at them?" Fistpunch asked, noticing that Morgan was looking back towards the direction of the Light Fury, Toothless, and the rest as he spoke to the 19 year old.

"Sorry, it's just...pretty personal, I have to do what I'm wanting to do...if I don't do it now, I'll probably never get the chance unless I go to The Hidden World..."

"Alongside your impressive knowledge, it sounds like you've had some sort of past with one of those dragons...otherwise you wouldn't be so...how can I even describe it...obsessed with them?"

"Well yeah, it is an obsession, but it's mainly with Toothless. That Light Fury, if I'm honest, has angered me...you know, she used to throw Hiccup off of Toothless, and she's why all of this has happened...like...why the dragons all left years ago..." Morgan said.

"Mainly with Toothless? All we can do is dream of having a dragon like him...you can't have a past with them like Hiccup has had..." Fistpunch insisted, as he and Morgan, alongside the crowd, finally saw the brown huts emerging as they returned to one of the main villages.

"No...well, I'm not gonna tell anyone what it was, but...I think they're staying here for the whole of today, so if they are, I can go and see Toothless...but if not, I'll have to come up with something else..."

"You know...I am a boat viking...after all, you saw me on that boat with the other guy when we were told to go to Berk to check on its state...then when we found you, you obviously saw me controlling the sails...I've been thinking about how in-depth your knowledge is, and at the moment it's unlikely, but perhaps we can take a secret...you know...trip to you know where?"

"I just...they've got their babies here as well...wow...but yeah, yeah, can't it be sooner or anything?" Morgan said, subconsciously, as his focus was on you know what.

"I'll have to work on that...you'll have to tell me what this whole business with you and that Night Fury is..."

Morgan wasn't too sure if it was a good idea to break that news to anybody, about what his past was with Toothless; it'd ruin his reputation, especially in Hiccup's mindset. He couldn't trust Fistpunch just yet.

Morgan wanted to just stick around near the village where the dragons and Hiccup were.

Five minutes later, the entire village seemed to be back to normal; roaming vikings, doing their daily jobs, but in the meantime, Hiccup and Astrid, alongside Valka and the others, which looked like Snotlout and Ruffnut and so on, were right around the tall totem poll that was painted in the colours of the dragons that used to be around.

Keeping his distance to not look suspicious or anything, Morgan was still watching on. He'd occasionally turn around to make it seem like he wasn't directly staring across. Literally, all he wanted was for it to be himself, Toothless, and that Light Fury. At the moment, that simply wasn't possible. BUT, what will potentially be possible later is him getting to Toothless, and getting the Night Fury to remember the 19 year old himself from the times when he was 17 years old, and in turn, what happened between him and the dragon.

"Oh shoot! I completely forgot, I should've uh...hold on guys, stay there bud, I need to go and find somebody quick..." Hiccup said, remembering Morgan; he was sure that the 19 year old wanted to see Toothless again, given the discussion he held with the 19 year old in his big hut last night.

Hiccup started roaming off, around the village, leaving the rest with the Light Fury, Toothless, and their babies. Astrid kept her two kids with herself. In the corner, near one of the wells, Hiccup could make out that red vibrant top in those distinct shorts, which was clearly Morgan himself. Hiccup, being careful of course, started running on his metal leg to catch up to Morgan, who was standing there, occasionally turning around, and the 19 year old still had his bag on his back as if he was going on some sort of holiday.

"MORGAN! DID YOU SEE THEM! TOOTHLESS IS RIGHT THERE, COME ON, I'LL SHOW YOU THE LIGHT FURY, AND THE BABIES SHE AND TOOTHLESS HAVE!" Hiccup said, patting Morgan on the shoulder.

"Nonononono Hiccup, I'm honestly too nervous...can it...like...not be done later on? and DON'T mention my name when you go back there...okay?" Morgan said.

Morgan was too nervous to reveal himself to Toothless whilst the others were around. It had to be when the Light Fury and Toothless were by themselves.

"What? what about when you were talking about wanting to go to The Hidden World? they're only gonna be here for today and you probably won't get a chance to see them again...come on, it'll be fine?" Hiccup said, nodding his head towards the direction of the dragons.

"No, Hiccup, I just can't at the moment...and how can you pat that Light Fury when she...you know, did what she did to you?" Morgan said, shrugging his shoulders.

"Maybe later, then? honestly Morgan, I have no idea what the big deal is..." Hiccup said.

"It's a verryy big deal, Hiccup. Unfortunately, it's one that you can't know...I won't tell anybody..." Morgan said, intentionally giving a vague hint that something happened between him and Toothless in the past.

"W-What? I can't know what? are you nervous about Toothless recognising you? if it makes you feel better, Toothless didn't even recognise ME at first, so it'll be alright..."

"No, I'll wait for the right time for it...those Night Lights are pretty cool looking, though..." Morgan said, trying to steer the discussion away from where it was heading.

"Do as you wish, but understand that you'll probably miss out on seeing Toothless...and listen, about the Light Fury, it's in the past, okay? I have no grudges against her, she's a dragon, after all...come whenever you want...I need to go back to be with him...I've missed him for too long to not be with him..." Hiccup said, walking from Morgan back towards the direction of the totem pole, where the dragons were.

Morgan simply nodded and sighed, crossing his arms. It's as simple as going up to the dragons, but for Morgan, his train of thoughts made that simply a weak way of going about what he wants to do. And he still felt internally angry about the Light Fury; just seeing her besides Toothless, nuzzling him occasionally, made him want to punch something. On that mindset, Morgan wanted to both get back at the Light Fury for the despicable dragon (in his mind) that she was, whilst also giving Toothless a reason to acknowledge the 19 year old himself.

He, after all, wanted to still go to The Hidden World, so what could he do when it comes to accomplishing that with the dragons here, whilst wanting to extract his anger at the Light Fury?

The first thing Morgan thought about were the Night Lights; or specifically, one of them. What if he simply kidnaps one of them, (god knows how he'd go about doing that with the Light Fury guarding them) to keep one of them on here when they go back to The Hidden World? that'll give the dragons a pretty big reason to acknowledge the 19 year old, and hey, Morgan can avoid being lightened to death by the Light Fury by keeping one of her babies with him, almost like a shield.

"Hmmmm..." Morgan said, scratching the back of his neck, warming up to the idea above.

It was just a matter of getting to a situation where he could realistically take one of the Night Lights stealthily.

Morgan had yet to meet with Ruffnut, Snotlout, or even Gustav Larson to see if they remember him, but he was already focused on being remembered by Toothless, even if that means by extreme measures.

Toothless and the Light Fury are ON the island for a whole day; the reason why Toothless came back was because of the fact that a few days ago, he recognised his best friend in Hiccup, and simply put, the dragon, after that reunion on the seas, couldn't bare being without his friend a little longer. Even the Light Fury came along with the Night Fury. Hiccup and his family were the center of attention by all the vikings as this second reunion happened on the shores of the island, and it was wonderful. But in the background, a vindictive, obsessive Morgan who wants to be remembered by Toothless alongside wanting to go to The Hidden World, has a pretty sly plan in mind. He was vindictive at the Light Fury for taking Toothless away, alongside her antagonising hatred of humans in the past. He was obsessive with Toothless because he wanted the dragon to remember him. But for Morgan, it wasn't as simple as walking up to the group with Hiccup and the dragons; he wanted it to be in an isolated environment. Is kidnapping one of the Night Lights really a viable and...humane thing to do though, just for that?
