While walking back from Harry's class, I saw Alice and smiled. "Hey Alice," I greeted. She chuckled and smiled at me. "How was Charms?"
"Good. We're working with Ascendio. He was saying how he meant to teach you and your class that but he was pleased to see you tutoring other kids," she responded. Oh, right. May and her group of slow kids. Okay, sorry about that harsh comment. Forgot, not everyone has a family of wizards and witches that constantly tutor them. I had the whole train ride to learn Alohamora and Lumos. Then I learn all the others on my own time.
"Good. I'm heading down to the training fields," I responded and she nodded while following me. I had to practice some spells before I could go home. Especially since I didn't want to face dad and mom. Not yet. Dominique would be in some high level of trouble for not finishing the essays. Especially these ones.
As I arrived, I saw mom and Victoire there. "Hey," Victoire greeted hugging me. I smiled and hugged her back. This was the last year I'd get unlimited access to her. Especially since she is marrying after this school year.
"Hey," I responded and smiled. "What's going on?" I had to admit I was rather confused. Mom and Victoire were here and dad's belongings were here as well. "Did Dad forget something?"
"No. I asked Victoire and mom to stay here that way if you showed up, you wouldn't leave. Flitwick told me about your tutoring session today. Seems May has already begun talking. You need to be ready for a duel. She's talking about challenging you," dad explained as he came out of literally nowhere. Seriously I hate that spell.
"I know a few spells. Won't that be all I need?"
"No. You need to know Expelliarmus, Flipendo, Incendio, Rictusempra and know how to have a few tricks up your sleeve," he answered.
"I know that dad," I promised.
"Flipendo!" I groaned as I went flying. Okay, so that's Flipendo. I stood up and glared at May who was approaching with her group of friends and Albus was being dragged. "So you think you can get preference with Flitwick? Prove to me you're the better charm user and duel me."
"I won't duel you May. It's against Hogwarts Policy," I responded. I was shocked dad was smiling. I think he knew I was a lover not a fighter. "Please. Let's just talk this through," I pleaded.
"Expelliarmus!" I groaned as my wand went far out of my reach. Albus growled and was struggling to get to me. "Flipendo!" Oh great. I went flying too. I'm not shocked but it still freaking hurts! I rolled down the hill and saw a root before the river, so I grabbed it and looked around to see my glasses were gone and so was my wand. I began feeling around with no luck.
"Expelliarmus!" That was dad. Dad's found me? "May that's enough! I already sent an owl for your head of house and he will have some choice words for you. Avery had a point. You know the policy. No dueling under any circumstances," he warned.
"May you have just cost Slytherin 30 house points!" Uncle Harry doesn't sound happy. "Headmistress Cheng overheard from Bill's owl and decided as punishment to take away half the points that you earned. Proud of yourself?"
"Stupid brat," she mumbled as I got to my feet and I fell back down. My leg hurts. Like really bad.
"Avery?" Mom and Victoire ran to me and I groaned as they helped me stand again. "Avery, what hurts baby?" Mom's really worried.
"My leg," I whispered.
"Dad! We need to get her to the infirmary! Her leg!" Dad immediately ran over and picked me up and carried me in his arms.
"When did you lose the sense of fighting back? Louis and I know you have no problem with that," he teased.
"Since I'm trying to actually not cause any mischief. I need to survive to my 12th birthday. Still have a year to go," I chuckled.
"I'm shocked you made 11 living with Louis," Victoire added as I felt myself laid on a bed.
"Honestly we had a bet for 10 since you have Louis and Uncle George to deal with," Fleur snickered.
"This is why I prefer my family," I sighed as I felt exhaustion kick in and a blanket put over me. It's like a sheet FYI.
"Get some rest darling. Dad will be here the whole time. Madam Pomfrey will fix you right up," Dominique promised.
I nodded weakly and slowly let sleep consume me.
